A must try place !!! Im new to the area & was looking for some boudin & good sausage. This place has everything I was looking for. I've been here many times now & some of my personal favs r chicken jalapeno sausage, cracklins, shrimp/crawfish pies, pepper jack boudin balls, boudin... Besides the food being amazing all the people that work here r some of my nicest people I've ever met. So if your looking for great food this IS the place!!!

Lady was nice... and helpful....Didn't have samples of smoked sausage though.I would have purchased more if I could have tasted it.Boudin cheese ball was good, but crust was dark.. Crawfish balls were not there. Man those are my favorite!!!! I tried chicken cracklings too salted for me but good...Store was clean n cases were organized n clean. Products were priced. There is no doubt a lot of work going on in there. # hard work # kudos to them...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Emailed these people 3 weeks ago asking about seafood boudin purchasing in bulk for our store out of state and I have never heard a word back. Never. As a business owner myself I know the power of answering emails, returning phone calls and the importance of customer service, even if it is bad news and you cannot help the customer with their needs wants and desires. Overcharged by two ladies working. Revealed that we were from CA living in TX. They proceeded to tell us how much they hated each place. They removed food from our containers, thinking that we could not see. They double charged us for various items and did not provide a receipt after charging our card.

Couldn't say enough about this place. The food is AMAZING, there staff is SUPER friendly, their cashier Kellie is always persuading you to buy boudin, boudin balls, pies and stuff even though u don't want it you will get one anyway and u will REALLY ENJOY IT! She is very promoted to her job and will joke around with the customers and have fun. She really enjoys her job! The owner is SUPER NICE! He is so kind and generous and I think all of Lake Charles is happy he decided to open Herbert's here! Probably has the nicest kindest staff in Lake Charles!! LOVE THIS PLACE SOOO MUCH!❤️❤️❤️
