You want a hugh sandwich, go here. The price is amazingly low for what you get. There's enough meat for 3 sandwiches. Old fashion deli & meat counter service. Choose from a large variety of meats, breads, cheeses, & fix'ins to go on it. They also have a variety of specialty sandwiches, as well. My wife usually just eats half of a sandwich at a time. If you want to get some quality steaks, chops, or roasts to cook yourself, they have that for a reasonable price, too. At lunch hour during the week, the line might be out the door. Don't give up. I have seen as many as 7 guys behind the counter making sandwiches so the line usually moves really fast. While they're friendly, its all about the service to get you in & out on your lunch hour. They stay busy for a reason. It's not a fancy place, but the food is always fresh.

Excellent! Like everyone has said, their sandwiches are absolutely huge and a great price. My usual is the corned beef sandwich with some spicy mustard. Just tried the burgers, and my god it was perfect. The attendants do work at a fast pace so be ready to order when you step up to the counter or you'll be passed by for the customer behind you. Great lunch spot if you work nearby :)

Frank's has got to be THE BEST all around. The plate lunches are so big that 2 people can share it and you are FULL when done. The Chili is famous all around Louisville. Frank, the owner, is very knowledgeable and if asked will tell you exactly what you need to do to make your ribs, or whatever else you are smoking or grilling, come out perfect. They have got the best homemade rub and bottled sauces around. The meat in the butcher case is always fresh and they will trim it to your satisfaction. The deli salads are DELISH! My favorite is the macaroni salad. The german potato salad is in a league of its own. I've not had one of their deli sandwiches, but I've seen them....if you order a ham & cheese on rye, that sandwich is probably at least 3-inches thick. Homemade soups everyday. Homemade ham salad, pimiento cheese spread, tuna salad. Franks IS THE REAL DEAL! A+++ for Quality, Quantity, Price

It took me 3 years of living in Louisville to finally find Frank's, but I was so glad once I did. They have amazingly good sandwiches (not to mention HUGE), and their pastas are great as well. My fiance has gotten chili from Frank's before and she said that was very good as well. Frank's serves you food to go in huge portions and at very reasonable costs. I couldn't believe I was getting so much food for so cheap. The people that work at Frank's are also very nice. They greet you when you come in and are very helpful. Going to Frank's is a great experience. If you haven't been there yet you have to go!

The worse thing that could happen here is coming in during a rush because it gets packed! The food is great the guys and gals that work here are phenomenal. I moved to Kentucky from the beef state and had the hardest time sourcing good meat, then I found Franks. The cuts, quality and price can't be beat. They also make an unbeatable pork chop sandwich for lunch on the run. You can't go wrong here is the bottom line. Fresh produce, good meats, and just a great local shop.

I always find an excuse to stop by when I'm in Louisville! Lunch time is sometimes crazy and the wait can be a little long but it's always worth it! They really try hard to please and to get you in and out! I usually get the burger or the pork sandwich and are the biggest and best in town for the price! I've gotten ham and turkey and are fine with big portions being served up! While your there go ahead and get some fresh veggies and some good cuts of meat for dinner. You won't regret it! Place is awesome! Buying local never felt so great!

Best butcher shop in town. Offer any advice you ask for on smoking or cooking meat. Produce is incredible and seasonal. Great selection of sauces and seasonings. Lunch is great, daily selections are limited, but there is always something good to pick from. Soup is tasty. Prepared food is CHEAP!

I haven't had the prepared food here but I bought a freezer bundle. All I can say is wow, you get a ton of really great cuts of meat for a great price. The staff are extremely helpful and were willing to substitute a cut of meat that I don't like for another preferred meat. They are super friendly and walked my bags out to my car. You don't get great service like they provide anywhere else in Louisville! I would def. come here for your meats.

They sell sauces, chips, soda, small pre made garden salads, puddings, potato salad, variety of mustards. They stay busy so parking can sometimes be an issue.
