This place is an excellent addition to the plans for downtown McHenry and the growth it's seen over the past few years. I'm excited to see how the growth will continue!. I will say, with no intent to harm the business, since i'm still giving a 5 star. however, the last time i was int he shop I did not purchase the meat I drove in to purchase. solely based on price, and it wasn't just for a 20% increase. That I would have been okay with. It was a little more than double what I typically would pay at one of the competitors. I'm writing this to make management aware since they are a new business & to review some of the pricing they have in place. I'll be back soon. I hope that has been reviewed. Other than the pricing on only the ONE product, I can not say all is over priced. However, this particular item was. Excellent place over all and would recommend to friends and family! ** Update** Returned and prices are at or BETTER than local competitors. Far better quality here as well folks. Don't pass these guys up. Number one local butcher shop by far. Customer for life now.

Turkey bacon club was so good. The garlic aioli was on point. Everything was so fresh and just tasted delicious. I believe it was the owner who came around and asked us all how everything was.

Just cooked a couple of filets on the grill. OMG were they good! Probably better than Ruth's Chris and definitely better than the bacon wrapped ones you get in the plastic packages. You just got a new customer for life. Thanks for the wonderful meat.

Love Hub! We've been here multiple times. The sandwiches are always HUGE and really good. I usually take half of it home to eat for dinner. The butcher is knowledgeable. The burgers are so good! Worth the money. I recommend the brisket and rib eye burgers.

Nice market. They have a nice selection of meats and sausages. The sandwiches are good. The salads are way to wet. All around a decent place if your looking for something a little different.

I ordered an 8 lb. Prime rib roast for Christmas. Yes, a bit pricey, but Wow! It was fantastic! I preheated the oven at 500°, cook 5 min. Per lb. (40 min) turned the oven off and left it in oven for 2hrs (no opening oven door) for a perfect med. Rare center. Can't wait to try other things!

Italian Hub Sub is pricey at $11, to me, but the wife and I found it to be worth it and most enjoyable. This place is a must see; bar, deli, butcher, beer, wine, select refrigerated and frozen goods... wine tasting room in the back and outdoor seating. Kid friendly. Definitely a local gem.

I have been to high end steak houses and the steaks I got from Hub rank at the top of best steaks I have ever eaten. Huge amount of flavor and it melts in your mouth like butter. I have found the place where I will be buying my meats from now on. The staff is knowledgeable and very kind. Keep doing what your doing!

A lot of variety as far as meats and deli meats. Great quality of meats. Definitely great to have a butcher in town. Very welcoming and friendly people as well. Love their lunch options as well.

We stopped by soon after they opened and spoke with both their staff and one of the owners, they were both welcoming and helpful in our inquiries. The layout and decor of the Hub is inviting and bright, and easily invites you in. We ordered a Tenderloin for Christmas, and as promised it was ready at the time promised. It was an extraordinary cut, and was thoroughly enjoyed as Chateaubriand for dinner. We appreciate their help, and look forward to returning for more options.

Stopped for the first time and got a couple beef brisket burgers. My wife and I agree they were the best burgers we've ever had. Soooooo much flavor and soooooo juicy. Seasoned with brisket rub and grill like a normal burger. The best!!

I have tried brats from all over the Midwest looking for something that compares to Europe and Germany. This place nails brats!!! Very little fat. Just like the high quality ones you find in most brats in Europe. No gristle, filler, and fantastic flavors! Just like in Germany. If you want good, tasty and unique brats this is the place!!! My only place I will buy them from now on.

Our family came here to purchase our entire Christmas family dinner as we wanted to support local. We spent 360.00 here for filet mignon (asked for 5 x 8oz but they were all poorly/sloppily cut and ranged from 8-11oz a filet), lobster tail (2x)and crab legs (2lbs). The lobster tail and crab legs were very good and tasty, so that is why I gave three stars. The Filet Mignon was perhaps the worst cut of meat we have ever had. The cuts were full of fat, not the good marbling, but tough fat that is like rubber. We purchase steaks from all over, and I have never had this issue with Filets anywhere else. For the price, these should of been prime cuts without any fat in them and should of sliced like butter when medium/rare temp. These did not and felt like you needed to tear them apart due to the fat in the steak. TL:DR Good lobster tail, good crab legs. Worst Filet Mignon cuts we have ever purchased.

False advertising at it's finest. I received an email advertising a father's day special for $99 anytime this weekend. When I went in the girl at the counter said, "oh we're not doing that right now." She didn't offer an explanation, she didn't say they were sold out, she didn't offer me anything else. Just, we're not doing that right now. What does that even mean? I asked if I could preorder for later, nope. She says, we might be doing it later today... But I can't preorder anything. I asked why they would even send that email, to which she had no answer. She said she could go ask someone but she made it seem like I was inconveniencing her in some way. At that point I was over it and left without purchasing anything. 10/10 would not recommend. She gets one star for telling me to have a nice day as I walked out. LoL

Went there on a slow friday afternoon, it took almost 10 minutes to greet me the butcher working was very friendly. Went to order a sandwhich but the ladies working the counter didnt take my order for another 5 minutes. After all that i ended up paying 9 dollars for an okay sandwhich. Would go again for meat but not a sandwhich to expensive in my opinion.
