I was passing thru town on my way back to the Chicagoland area after going to the Peach Fest at Pere Marquette Lodge on 7/11/19. Had to get my peach fix. Great peaches from Tom Ringhausens orchard.. but I digress. When I take these trips I always look for bakeries or Butcher Shops along the way Driving thru Jerseyville I noticed the sign for Hansen’s. I turned the car around & decided to check it out. Glad I did. Picked up some bratwurst in 3 different flavors Onion & Garlic which we ate last Thursday. I’m a polish girl who drives 50 miles into Chicago for my sausages, so I’m pretty picky about my sausage. They were very very good, juicy & flavorful The loaded brats & the Swiss & Mushroom Brats were my other 2 choices. . Also picked up some pork patties that looked to be studded with bacon & cheese. Can’t wait to try them. Hope they are as good as the ones we already tried. The only think I noticed was that some cryovac packages didn’t seem as tight as they should be The were running a special on some steaks as well. Picked up 2 sweet looking boneless rib eyes. Nice thick cut But the Star of the Day was Kim who was working that day. Probably around 12 or 1230. She suggested which brats were pretty tasty & let me know about the steak sale. A credit to the store. Great customer service. She also threw in 2 firestick beef sausages. They were great as well. I will be making that 284 mile trip back to Ringhausens for some more peaches before the season is over & will definitely stop at Hansen’s In Jerseyville for more of those firesticks & more brats Yes I am a hard core foodie. At least that’s what my friends say

It’s a real blessing to have this store in our area. Our family gets all of our meat here from angus steaks to specialty items like their Cheeseburger Bombs and Apple Jack Chicken. Great service too!
