So disappointed in our turkey purchase this year. We have gotten out fresh turkey from Alwans for years. Today, as i was preparing our "fresh" bird I dug out 3 good sized chunks of ice. So....for a turkey I paid 50+ dollars for I could have gotten for $40 less at Schnucks. I bought my turkey from Alwans because i wanted a bird that had never been frozen, not one that you thawed for me. Don't trust Alwans claims. How many did you rip off this year? Won't be overcharged for a turkey by Alwans again. I will purchase mine from someone honest

This place has some of the best meat chicken cuts of pork in town. In addition to that you can sign up to have them send you hey text message when they have specials on Fridays which can be really good for those who are on a budget. I look forward to the times where I can stop and have something from there outdoor grill for lunch today I got two bratwurst and they were fantastic with tons of onions and ketchup and mustard.

Best place around to buy meat and other items. People in the Midwest need to get familiar with TriTip cut of beef. Cook it to about 135 on grill after marinating in your fave rub overnight. Slice meat against the grain after it rest for about 15 min. You won't be sorry. Better than prime rib. Alwan is the only place in Knox County that has this cut of beef. Like i said there the best meat market around. Excellent service, well staffed, and a wide variety of all different foods.

This business was updated some time back and went from a decent place to an awsome destination place to make sure you stop by. You can even grab lunch off the grill in the summer. They have no shortage of meat selections and if you dont see what you looking for just ask as they probably have it in the back or will cut it for you.

While my visit was initially on business unrelated to Butcher/Deli products/services, I concluded it with a sandwich, which was excellent. The staff were friendly, the facility was clean despite the amount of foot traffic they were experiencing, and the selection is out of this world. $5.00 For essentially any type of meat/cheese/bread/veggie combination is a hell of a deal. And though I haven't taken advantage of their butcher shop yet: their selection was well presented, and their prices seemed very reasonable. Additionally, I didn't see a single communist anywhere on the property. 10/10 - would buy a sandwich again.

Local butcher stores are always better to get your cuts of meat than any chain grocery. They've got a nice selection of sauces and seasonings in the aisles too. Guys behind the counter are helpful if you aren't sure what cut to get for a certain dish, seen many people getting bbq recipes from the guys there, and all the helpful tips to go with em.

My friend went there and had a great experience so I decided to try it. I can't believe it took me this long to discover this jewel of a shop, despite the fact I have driven past it for years on my way to ICC. I bought a lb. of pulled pork, 3 butterfly pork chops, some Uncle Joe's meat rub, a pack of King's Hawaiian butter rolls, and a lb. of seafood salad. Prices were very reasonable and the staff were really friendly and helpful. So far I have only eaten the seafood salad, and it is super DELISH! Eager to try my other items, and rest assured Alwan's: I will be back! :)

Had my Deer processed for the first time at Alwans. The staff was awesome especially the one gentleman who assisted me when I dropped my deer off and picked up my meat. The Summer Sausage and Sticks were terrific. I would recommend all hunters take your deer to Alwans. You will be glad you did. One side note; I observed skinning and and first step of the deer processing . They washed the carcase and kept it clean. I was impressed. Great job Alwans Staff.

Awesome prepackaged items from other local businesses as well as some national brands. Huge meat selection in the cases, as well as a nicely stocked deli case! BEST LUNCH IN TOWN!!! Really good prices, great meat, extremely friendly staff. Never had a bad cut of anything. The in-house made brats have wonderful flavor; the hotel steaks are tender and flavorful; the bacon is delicious; butterfly pork chops, yum! You can't go wrong with the ground chuck, 10 pounds for $2.99 per. They put all 10 lbs in a big plastic bag, so you have to put it in smaller amounts in your own bags. That's where a scale and food saver vacuum sealer comes in handy. We also buy the English roasts for Italian beef sandwiches and Mississippi pot roast. No matter what cut of meat we buy from Alwan & Sons, we are NEVER disappointed.

They made me feel like a million bucks. The ground beef was so not expensive as I thought it would be. 10lbs for 20 bucks sale. I hope that sale stays around so I can stock up.

Excellent meat market, an update on the old-time butcher shop. The spiral sliced cured hams are delicious. Very friendly staff and helpful. There is a deli where you can get a fresh sandwich in the back corner. There is also an array of condiments and other types of food items available. They also have bagged ice. The BBQ for lunches is awesome, with their own homemade brats , and they also have a special mixture of the left over meats from the day before that they simmer in bbq - mmm - very good! There are a few picnic tables to sit and eat, and it is covered from the sun and or rain. Since they are on War Memorial, it is always busy with traffic, and the noise from the street is considerable, but that aside it is a very cool place to go for a sandwich during their lunch hours. The butcher shop has pinwheels and hotel steaks - give them a try for dinner!
