I called today and asked them if they had whole leg of lamb. The employee I spoke to replied that they were in stock so I went to pick one up. When I arrived, they didn’t have whole leg of lamb. I asked the lady to double check, explaining that I called ahead and was told that they were in stock but I was again told that they didn’t actually have them. I responded that this would have been nice to know over the phone so I wouldn’t have made the trip. As I was walking out, one of the employees decided to call me an ass after he thought I left the building. Upon hearing this, I confronted the rude employee and asked him to repeat what he said. He said that he did not call me an ass and only stated to not let the door hit me in the ass on the way out. I’ve made a purchase from this business before and was not too impressed that time either. Poor quality and high price. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Came in yesterday. Wanting to purchase beef tenderloins. The young man said they had them in the back but didn't have time to cut them. Unhappily we chose a different cut. As we were leaving we saw the owner in the back. Shouldn't he be the one to decide if they have the time to cut more? Afterall, they only had 1 other customer in the store and an employee taking care of him. We have been in many times before and never made to feel like they didn't want our business. I think it is time to look for another meat market. To the owner - that young, dark-haired man is driving away customers. You need to spend some time teaching him how to talk to customers. They have more of a selection than they put out in there show cases, so don't be scared to ask for a specialty cut . Great meat at great prices.

They have a great selection, and if you don't see what you want they cut it for you! Customer service was amazing. Great Family owned business, and said they support other local businesses. Top quality products, and always smells incredible. Don't go in hungry because you will want to buy everything... Or maybe you should. Not sure where the reviews are coming from over bad customer service, every time I go in, the service has always been outstanding.

I went in there to see what they had and the man behind the counter answered all my questions very nicely and thoroughly. It's a multi-generation family business and they carry a lot of things you can't find elsewhere. They care about quality.

The meat here has always been really good, however, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude and not helpful in anyway. I wanted a 4lb brisket and the lady stated that they could not cut down the brisket which is complete bull. The first time I came to this place the gentleman that helped me cut a brisket in the exact size I wanted without hesitation. Reading some of the previous review it seems like I’m not the only one with this complaint. You might want to talk to the younger girl behind the counter with glasses that has absolutely no customer service skills.

The meat is awesome, best cuts anywhere! I had some friends over and had some bacon which they had said was great bacon and asked me what kind it was. Already referred everyone I know to buying there products. Service is great, I have never had any issue when shopping there and every time I am one the the only customers in the shop and the staff has always been courteous and helpful. Price may be slightly higher than Walmart but the product is so much better and I think you get more then what you get at Walmart. The reason you get more is they don't pump there meats full of blood like Walmart either to try to make it look red and weigh more. The only complaint I would have to is they are never open when I want to go there i.e. after work. I know I can't expect them to always be open however 9-6 M-S is a little hard to get to even if he just hired one person from 6-8 pm that would probably be when I could go more often than not.

Went there on a Thursday and got 2 lbs. of their BBQ Brisket. Excellent! Very good smoke flavor and made great brisket sandwiches. Will be going back on a regular basis.

Rude customer service. I called to order a ham and I was told it was a first come system and they don't take orders. The tone of his voice was curt and not exactly helpful. It reminded me of past experiences dealing with Choice Cuts. I was hoping things might have changed over the past 4-5 years. I guess some things never change. Work on your customer service skills. I won't be back.

They took the time to cut a halibut steak for me that was just perfect. Fresh and very tasty on the grill. The house made beef stick is excellent as well as the BBQ pork.

I went in today to get a prime rib for Christmas. I noticed they had two different levels prime and choice. When I asked what the difference was, the guy behind the counter responded it was a different grade. When I asked for further explanation, he said it was a difference in the way the USDA graded it. He was very unpleasant and made me feel like I was more of a distraction than a customer. I then again asked what made one choice and one prime and he just glared at me. I asked which had more marbleing and he responded with "prime of course." So I decided on the prime and asked for 4 bones. I didn't realize that I should have asked for enough for 4 people. He brings out this enormous roast which comes to $252. I said that's entirely too large and he threw the butcher paper on the back counter and glared at me again. I apologized and asked how much I should get for 4 people and he begrudgingly told me 1 lb. per person. He then proceeded to bring out another fairly large roast which came to about $160. Now if it's $16.99 per pound and I need 4 pounds, it's not anywhere near $160. I said it was still too large and he snatched it off the scale and glared at me again. I once again apologized and then realized, why am I the customer apologizing when it is your responsibility to educate your customers and create a pleasant buying experience especially if they are willing to shell out $17 per lb for a piece of meat. I told him I would go elsewhere and left the store. I don't know if I caught it on a bad day or what, but I don't think I will be back. Went to a store down the road and got a great deal on a beautiful prime rib where I go exceptional customer service. If you decide to use this butcher shop, I hope your experience is better than mine.

Excellent place to get meat. The selection is vast and all of it is much fresher than what you'd find at the supermarket. The staff is very informed and even asked me what I was planning to cook so they could trim it properly for me! This also helped take a little extra price off the meat which I really appreciated for the expensive cut I was getting. I have absolutely no complaints, and I know I'll be going back in the future.

My family has been thinking of trying the meat packs for over a year now and finally decided to do it. Based off online and in person reviews we finally thought why not. (side note we drove over an hour to the shop) This is going to be brutally honest. The quality and consistency of the meat and packing varies GREATLY! I was told at the shop that all meat was pulled each night and tripled wrapped (2 plastic, 1 butcher) which is how I used to do my meat before I got a food saver; when wrapped this way it'll last forever. The kid I talked to guaranteed it for 9 months but I know it'll last much longer. We purchased the 35 lb meat pack and an additional 5 lbs of peppered bacon. Here is what I can tell you so far: 2 lbs New York Steaks (got maybe 2 lbs at around 1/4" thick) Not eaten 2 lbs Rib Steaks (2 steaks 1" thick double wrapped 1 great looking tasted horrible dog liked it and 1 with bone fragments everywhere and tons of fat little meat to be eaten) 2 lbs London Broil (very very small no way there's 2 lbs and cut in half) ^^Not eaten^^ 2 lbs Chuck Steaks (not in package) 2 lbs Top Sirloin Steaks (single wrapped freezer burnt and smelt spoiled) 3 lbs Hot dogs (low quality chalky/grainy taste single wrapped) 10 lbs Split Fryer (2nd favorite meat in package thus far but only single wrapped and not de-feathered very well) 5 lbs Pork Country Ribs (So far the best quality tasted amazing double wrapped 1 triple wrapped) 3 lbs Lean Ground Patties (Yuck! stuffed with low quality cheese (to which I was not informed nor did I request) 1 single wrapped and freezer burnt and 1 double wrapped 1 pack left) 4 lbs Lean Ground Beef (Yuck! again 1 freezer burnt single wrapped and 1 double wrapped 2 different types of meat as well I'd say one 80/20 and one 60/40 2 packs left) All the ground beef thus far NOT lean and NOT quality very chalky like Bacon was great but not worth the drive ****BOTTOM LINE WILL NOT RETURN****

I have no idea what other people's problems were!! The service was great!! It is a family run business. They juggle the phones, answers questions wrap and season your choices with complimentary rubs or marinades, also local. They have Prime Beef!! If you are a meat eater, I am and want 5 star restaurant quality beef then you know Prime is the way to go! I picked up an amazing T-Bone about an inch thick with the perfect filet eye. Reality the whole entire slab was melt in your mouth beefy goodness. I know for a fact a lot of the meat in the valley is old dairy cow and Wal-Mart meat comes in frozen mostly from overseas, they thaw it, you take it home and refreeze it and it lacks flavor and freshness. It also is soaked in a saline solution to prolong it's shelf life. Not here a Choice Cuts!! All meat is fresh and regional. It is absolutely the best T-Bone I have ever had here in Idaho. Now let's talk selection! They have rabbit, lamb and hams! They have antibiotic and hormone free chicken. They have sausages and ribs. They have in season fish. I am so glad to have found this marvel. Their meat cannot be beat. The meat costs a little more bit the satisfaction level is higher. I work out of town as much as in town and will most certainly go out of my way to get my steaks here. The roasts are equally good flavor and texture wise, but am a very enthusiastic grilled steak woman. A steak off the grill is perfect...what I do not finish is either the next days salad, or breakfast with eggs... I would most certainly reccomend this hometown gem to anyone who wants the best cut, and they will cut them, piece of meat in the region. I can say region because I am out and about more than most. The front window of the store states the meat is antibiotic and hormone free. I thought that meant all the meat in the store; It does not. Apparently some of the meat may be antibiotic and hormone free but others are not. Just didn't want other people to get the wrong impression like I did.

Service was good when I was spending my $$$$. However, when I questioned the product (T-Bone Steak) It became the super RUDE service, and poor quality cuts. In over 60 years I have NEVER had a T-bone that did NOT have a Tenderloin Filet. The T-bones I received from Choice Cuts you could see where the filet had been cut away. The owner tried to tell me that's the way they all are. B.S.

The guy wasn't the friendliest.....prices were fair...and just watch out for him double charging your for meat...not sure if he's doing it on purpose since no one prolly goes in there...haha...make sure your total is right before you leave. Apparently other reviewers also had this problem. Ooo and don't be looking for good customer service....the guy was very brief with any description like he had some where else to be....was skeptical at first but now I know I'd NEVER go back. :)
