I have never in my life had such a rich tasting piece of meat that was not gamey tasting as the Axis Deer at this butcher shop.

I was looking for a place to sorce good large FRESH fillet or ribeye for a good price but I was DISAPPOINTED threre was almost nothing in there, anything they did have was AGED when I asked for something fresh he said "here is fresh it's been aged for 130 days" and it had a DEAD FLY on it. Also really EXPENSIVE I will never go again the guys that work there are absolutely craked.

Stopped in to grab some seafood and these guys hooked us up! We were here on vacation and didn't want to end up with a bunch of leftover seasonings we would not use up. Amazing scallops they wrapped in bacon for us and scallops with a citrus pepper seasoning. Chicken wings in teriyaki marinade. Smoked butter and smoked salt cauliflower. Everything was delicious - even the frozen twice baked potato. They even prepped things so we could put them straight on the grill. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for wonderful food and wonderful service!

1st time visiting today, was greeted warmly, shown some beautiful cuts of meat, I went with the cheapest product they had to offer...the guys were enthusiastic and eager to tell me how they made their 70/30 ground beef (to be honest it's ground steak, and the most magnificent aged trimmings and fat)...this ground beef was peppered and lightly dusted with garlic salt prior to being lovingly formed into a succulent patty...I grilled on my gas stove top cast iron grill, nothing but the sizzling fat drippings enhancing the roasted flavors, and this meat browned so beautifully...these guys passed the test, they were fired up to sell me their cheapest product, they were full of pride in something most people would view as an inconsequential sale...I'll be back, and I'll look forward to procuring some of their fine cuts of beautifully dry aged beef...this is an artisanal meat shop with skilled and thoughtful craftsmen happily applying their trade. I can't wait to savor the specialty cured meats and bacon I spied in the cooler.

I went in Monday after work. The shop is small, but enticing. There was one other customer, and yet somehow both the proprietors were too busy to acknowledge my presence. The butcher talking story with the single other customer paused long enough to briefly name a few cuts of meat in the case in front of me, and the other butcher made himself scarce. Neither so much as said "We'll be right with you." I wandered the (small) shop for a solid 5 minutes and attracted no further notice from either. No customer likes to be ignored, but when it's three dudes so fascinated by each other that they can't even greet me, a woman, that adds a particular unpleasantness to the interaction. You blew it, butcher bros.

Finally! A real butcher shop in West Hawaii! We love buying from the local ranches, but they are limited to their stock. Kona butcher shop has everything a "foodie" would desire in meat. Nice small selection of cheeses too. Super friendly folks behind the counter.

Thank you! I went in for a 16oz ribeye, showed me what he was cutting from, talked about thickness and how I was cooking it. Left with a beautiful piece and a decent sized hunk of homemade truffle butter. Thank you so much. This made my birthday dinner.

Purchased the take home pack of pre-cooked meats which included: Beef rib, chicken thigh, brisket, sausage. We found the meats to be cooked, but very under seasoned. The sausage was pretty dry. Overall we didn’t enjoy the pre-cooked (smoked) meats. It did have a good price. Perhaps with a sauce these would be more enjoyable...but we likely will not return.

We are on island visiting and we searched for Best Meat Shop in Kona, and indeed we had a fantastic experience. We found impossible sausages, New York steaks and Salmon from New Zealand. And the service and Aloha was phenomenal.

This should be a requirement to go here in every single guide book. This dude knows his meats. He is a Jedi butcher, the patron saint of aged meat goodness, and deserves success. We bought a two week aged tri-tip for cheaper than at the supermarket for an un-aged cut! We then wanted chicken (which shouldn't really be considered a meat) and he cut up some parts and half birds to grill. The beef was epic. The chicken was... chicken but regardless the service was excellent. Go here and use that BBQ at the condo. You'll thank me.

This shop is a unique addition to Kona for its special meats and gourmet products. The Duroc pork chops are amazing! This is the only place on the Kona Coast where you can get fresh, high-quality diver sea scallops. Other places have frozen ones, which are absolutely no contest to the fresh ones. Great dry-aged beef, as well. We liked this business so much that we decided to invest in it.
