When I'm craving juicy, crunchy, and tasty roast pork, I make a bee line to Oahu Market. In a small, unassuming stall on King Street stands Fong's Meat Market. You can tell how good your roast pork is going to be as soon as you walk by. The glistening golden pork skin and the aroma will tease your senses. This is by far, one of the best tasting roast pork that us Chinese have that compares to our fellow Filipinos and their lechon. I usually eat my lechon with the vinegar and tomato, and onion sauce, however, Fong's roast pork is so good that no sauce is needed. It is perfectly seasoned with a beautiful crispy skin. What are you waiting for, isn't your mouth watering yet?

I don't care at all about how you feel about the atmosphere. (Which I actually love. It's very outdoors and free and so many markets for fresh fruit and veggies. The area ranges from prom dresses and jewelry to restaurants and food markets.) This stand has the BEST roast pork I have ever had. My dad has bought roast duck and pork and red meat from them since I was a baby. And I thank him for that! Even if it's a super fatty cut, I could eat the entire lb of roast pork in one day. But beware of heartburn! It is worth the trip. Look around while you're there. It's one of my favorite places to look around and just let loose and cruise. If a tourist asks me where to go to just chill and look around, I tell them to go to China Town. Although if you are judgemental about the poverty in Hawaii, I suggest you find another town or state to cruise.
