Butcher was not professional at all. I called asking if they sold femur bones for my dogs, he said didn't sale them but offered bone dust an alternative. When I arrived at the store I waited while the two customers ahead of me were taken care of meanwhile two more people came in after me. When it was my turn, I asked about the bone dust he offered over the phone and before I could mention additional products he said the bone dust isn't really a money making product and told me I had to wait until he finished with the two customers who came in after me. NOT GOING TO DO IT! After some brief words about his poor customer service I left the store and will not ever go back. My time is just as important as the next person and the value of my money is the same as everyone else. The butcher offered the product to get me in the store so he should have valued me as he would any other customer. The meats in the store looked decent but I will never shop there because of the nasty attitude!

Never had someone get offended at trying to get the best price on meat by shopping around before. Gave the owner a price quote I'd received from another vendor, and he became audibly agitated. He cut me off and shut down the conversation. I'm not looking for grief because I live on a budget. Good day to you too.

Doug was very nice and accommodating during my visit today. This is the only place to go locally for steaks. He doesn't cut them thin like other butchers in the area and he will make it exactly how you like it. Definitely will be visiting Doug in the future for steaks

We bought meat from Doug's for the 3 years that we lived in Augusta. We never had any problems with anything. The products are great, the service was great and Mr. Doug and his wife and son were always most respectful and polite. Ever since we moved from there, I've looked for a butcher outside of the usual supermarket option. I've never found anyone to measure up to Doug's. He has big shoes to fill.

Guy was really nice. Prices are good, products are fresh. The owner was also honest about his products (I don't eat pork and he let me know he uses pork casings for the sausages even though that meant he wasn't going to sell the product.) place was also very clean. I like the idea of knowing my butcher, I'll definitely be back.

I called to ask if they carry lamb as I needed chunks for a stew. The gentleman who answered was immediately defensive and rude. He did confirm that they had larger cuts and some chops. I then asked if the chops could be cut easily at home if I were to purchase them. He proceeded to scold me for calling late in the day and asking for lamb to be cut, which I did not. He offered no accommodations or recommendations for me as a potential customer. He also did not answer my question on if I could reasonably cut the chops myself at home. I have never set foot in this shop and do not plan to.

Most of the meat was good but they don't let you substitute and their skin on bacon isn't worth feeding to my dogs if you fry it gets to hard bake it gets soggy and skins so tough on it you could lace your shoes with it

Doug's Meat Shop has been around for over 30 years. What I enjoy about buying meats here is, Doug KNOWS his meats. I phoned in an order asking for Korean style Bulgogi meat. Came in to pick it up, oh was I shocked! BIG slices in the correct thinness. It was the perfect cut too, tender. If you need specific cuts of meat for ethnic dishes, Doug not only slices it, you'll get the correct cut for the dish, too. Well worth the trip.
