THE LOW REVIEW IS FRom A PHONE ORDER, NOT MEAT QUALITY!! So I’ve been coming here about once a month for a few months now. A one way trip for me is 2 hours. I came on Wednesday, which they’re Facebook page said they were open, but they were closed and didn’t answer their phone for 2 days. I waited for about 45 minutes, as I really didn’t want the whole 4 hour total drive to not be wasted. This was very frustrating for me, as I only come to Ocoee for them! I totally understand if they had no meat, but an update on their Facebook or answering their phone would have been very appreciated. So I call on Friday and they were open. Yay! So I give them an order over the phone for my husband to pick up. Firstly, the young man taking the order was not sure or accurate on many of the prices. This caused a huge issue for me, as I ended paying more than double than what I’m used to spending. Secondly, there was miscommunication on how the meat was supposed or not supposed to be cut. Again, super frustrating, as I live two whole hours away. Thirdly, I notice that they sometimes weigh and price the meat BEFORE they trim it, which I’m not sure is the normal for butcher shops, but nonetheless, I’m sure it was done again for all of the meats. As awesome as this place is, I don’t think I will ever place an order over the phone again, unless I’m for sure speaking to the shop owner. Even then, I’d prefer to see them dress the meat so as to get it as I’d like.
