Delicious food! We we're driving through to town looking for a place to get lunch and it looked inviting from the outside. We took our chance and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh, yummy kale, cornbread and rotisserie! Can't go wrong with this spot.

Anthony Garcia

The food and beer on tap is ridiculously good. Don’t miss this spot.

Literally the best. You’re wasting your time if you go to mystic and don’t eat here. :) I take pride in investing my money into a restaurant who locally sources their own food. Worth every pennny.

김명균

This place is absolutely fantastic because the meat is delicious and their is lot of different side menus. Also the staffs are friendly.

Better than you might think. Bohemian feel just a cool little watering hole with good food

Joel Valenti

Great spot for fresh local meats!

Adam Seidl

Good lunch menu, a bit lacking in selection.

Madeline Carignan

Fantastic sandwiches and adorable little shop. Rosemary sausage and chicken sandwiches were perfect. Would recommended to anyone passing through Mystic, especially with the parking. May want to try off hours as it probably gets very busy during peak times, but it’s worth it.

Robert Makowsky

Absolutely fantastic chicken. Everything looked really good. Very friendly staff, too.

Justin Buell

Burgers not cooked to order. Limited selection of NA beverages. Roast beef sandwich was good, but there's no reason to put pickles on it. The sweet pickles really killed the flavor of the meat and cheese, which were both very good.

Ken Kastl

Okay, so we've been here twice before for a recon with perhaps a small snack and glass of wine, but tonight we had a take away whole chicken. OH MY, its as exceptional, just as we were told by others. This guy Dan has a unique customer dining compass with this establishment and the prior local business launches in the last three years. Bravo.

Artur Ulatowski

Place is located right by the downtown Mystic so it is close to most of the attraction over there. Place is a butcher shop with a little food shop. The food is little bit on the expensive side but the quality is top notch. Their claim to fame is dry aged meet. I would definitely recommend and will visit again

Caleb Paxton

Real good food and good vibes. Nicely done.

John Furey

Grabbed breakfast here, I would definitely come back. Great food, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere.

Food was ok.Defintely not worth $21 for a burger and roasted duck fat potatoes. Potatoes were like any other roasted, potato and also cold. The burger was juicy but nothing special. When I ordered I said,no special sauce on burger. I noticed cook putting it on and asked for a new bun he looked posses and threw it in garbage can with gusto right in front of me. We started a tradition last Christmas of going to Mystic, around Christmas time but this was my 1st and last time eating here.

Sandra Wheeler

Very smoky inside. Made it a bit difficult to breath. I had an expensive french dip. It arrived on burnt bread. It wasnt just a little dark. Surprised the chef sent it out. No one came back to our table to ask about the food. Had already paid when we ordered and too tired to fight the fight. I pivked at the meat.

Sonya Langham

Interesting idea, comfortable ambiance, and inviting staff. I had 1/2 bbq chicken. The bbq sauce was too gritty and lacked any sweetness. The chicken was moist and I finished it. My guest had a ham sandwich (hot), she thoroughly enjoyed it. I would not return.

Meredith Clark

I was a little disappointed in our lunch here. I had the Rueben and it was really really greasy and had some burnt bits that were so hard I had to spit them out. My wife had the rotisserie chicken and it was delicious. The chicken fat potato side dish was ok but lacked much flavor.

Ian Sugerman

Good food, very fatty but that's a good thing.

Anna Durej

The food was delicious and it was a cool spot.

Steve MacFadden

After the second bite of the Grandfather Ruben, I knew that this was my favorite sandwich place. This place has exactly what you want in life.

Cix Frost Harding

Ate lunch 9-1-17, Excellent to the point of going back tomorrow! Amazing Bistro/Butcher Great grass fed and aged Local Sources, All vegetables grown local farm. Serving menu is filled with delish items! I had a sandwich, pastrami, fresh baked bread, organic tomatoes, Big Sandwich! Awesome!!! Best New Place in Town and Around!!!

Juan Melgarejo

My wife and I drove from the Bronx to eat here. Definitely worth the trip. I had the NY strip cheese steak sandwich. My wife had the rotisserie chicken salad sandwich and we split the rotisserie chicken noodle soup. Everything tasted great and the ambience was cool and casual. I am coming back next time I drive by Mystic. Come visit. You won't be disappointed.

K. Prokop

Stopped in for some take out and food to bring home to grill. Ended up leaving with a rotisserie chicken that I demolished for lunch - it literally fell off the bone. So good!

Daniel Pardo

Been here twice and both times the meal, service and selection were outstanding. Had the Kale Caeser and Case Cut Ribeye which was otherworldly in flavor and tenderness.

Mudi Kenney

Great little restaurant in Mystic. Stopped here on a whim and it turned out to be a great idea. It's a small place, was almost empty when we got there but filled up pretty quickly there after. Decor is nice and simple, I like that. They have beers and cider and soda, and also a water pitcher that you can help yourself to. You order at the counter then take a seat and they'll bring your food out to you. Since the rotisserie chicken is so prominent on the menu, I decided to get that - along with cornbread and spinach as sides (lots of leftovers!). The chicken was so good!!! It was beautifully seasoned and every part was juicy and tasty - even the breast. It comes with a garlic mayo to dip the chicken in but you really don't need anything to help this chicken with flavor. The cornbread comes with maple butter and they were both pretty good. The spinach was good too. My husband got the veal pot pie and it was piping hot when it came out and delicious! His one complaint was that they sprinkle kosher salt on top of it, so that made parts of the crust super salty. But that aside, the crust was great and the filling was divine. We'll definitely have to come back next time we're in Mystic.

Kevin Keeney

Excellent rotisserie chicken!

Michael R. Walker

A lot of coin, but worth every penny. Service was welcoming from the moment I came in the door. Answered my all my menu questions, got me exactly what I wanted. Meal was delicious. Empty plate, big smile and perfectly portioned. If you don't like this place, look in the mirror, and ask yourself what's wrong with me?

The oatmeal was amazing here...loved it. I also think it's great that there are cuts of meat that are for sale too. I saw pork belly there (which I've been trying to find to no avail). I love the design of the restaurant too, it's absolutely beautiful. I noticed though, that the tartine sourdough bread isn't being used to make any of the sandwiches on the list and they aren't flexible about using the bread for sandwiches if you ask them to. Even when I was willing to buy the whole loaf for $10, they refused to cut me a slice to use with my order because "the kitchen was too busy." It would have been nice if they were more flexible and kind about that. But other than that, the food was excellent. For pointers on hospitality, please visit the South.

This is my new favorite place in the area. Everything is good here, but the burger is the best I've ever had. It's expensive, but you are paying for top notch quality.

Patrick Neigel

The staff is excellent and has never provided anything short of amazing service. The establishment itself is modern, clean and well laid out. I have had the opportunity to try nearly every sandwich on the menu, my favorite of which is tied between the roast beef and chicken. I also recently ordered a rotisserie chicken and it was some of the best I have had. A 2lb 45 day dry aged rib-eye was heavenly, truly a testament to the quality offered here. Grass & Bone hit a home run. The butcher Frank is super helpful and won't leave you with any uncertainties either. Highly recommended.

Credible Critic

Butcher shop and Farm to table restaurant. Menu is full of items that made from local fresh ingredients. Aged meat from beef to pork and special sausages can be purchased to be cooked at home. Food off the menu, serving with local draft beer and wine. Try the buffalo rotisserie chicken, roasted chicken with a bath of buffalo sauce. The garlic kale salad. The butcher's meatloaf with marinara red sauce. We enjoyed the chicken and the kale salad greatly. The meatloaf was salty, may be it came from the salt of the aging process, but it was flavorful nevertheless. Casual and clean place. Food brought to the table by the staff. They also cleaned the mess after you're finished. Good addition to the Mystic restaurant lineup. A must try if you are in the area. It is a bit pricey. It is Mystic, so it is kind of expected...

I went for some lunch with my family, just to have a sandwich and some soup. It was way too pricy for a small lunch. I got a smoked ham sandwich, and the meat was very chewy and hard pull apart. I also got a radish chickpea soup, that was okay. My mom got a chicken melt, and the chicken still needed more cooking. The waitress put a Caesar salad to her order and my mom never said that she wanted any salad from the menu. I don’t even remember seeing it in the menu. They said to have it anyway, and that it tastes good. It didn’t taste good at all. My dad got some chicken, which was pretty much the only good thing that came out of the lunch. He also got some chorizo tacos (taco of the day), and later that night he had stomach problems, and neither of us ate anything else after that. We couldn’t anyways bc that lunch was $66. We couldn’t even have dinner. My only advice is, when you pay before your meal, make sure to go over what you actually ordered.

Butcher shop and restaurant. The selection is good, with an excellent offering of meats and drinks. The entrees are served a-la-carte and average $15. The dining room is small, with patio seating (5 tables) available as well. The concept is well executed and the food is good. The lamb burger (special) was excellent. The Reuben was good as well, although a little greasy. The rotisserie chicken is another standout. The burrito is one thing that could be skipped. Order at the front and take an animal (their version of a number) to your table. Several local farms are featured here as well which is cool. Check it out!

Gina P

What an awesome atmosphere! Great food if you’re looking for a hearty, healthier option. Olivia was such an awesome help as it was our first time here and she made it a great experience for newbies. We live an hour away and we’ll definitely be back. Must go!

Mary ann Duni

Without a doubt the very best Caesar salad I have ever had! I've never had a 'salad' where I can taste every layer of flavor...from the crisp lettuce to the garlic to the parm...it was awesome. The beef is better than any I've had at any 5 Star restaurant! Love the casual but well thought out style of this establishment. Incredibly efficient and friendly staff. This was a real dining pleasure. Don't wait...go see for yourself.

Don’t go for the food! Great atmosphere and service staff but food was a great disappointment. The size and quality for the price were the disappointing factors. For lunch, ordered the Grandpa Rueben and portion was small and without sides making it overpriced for $12. Worst part was that the sandwich contained meat that was burnt - more burnt pieces of some kind of meat than pastrami. Also ordered their signature salad but once again the portion was more the size of a side salad than a main dish for $10. Since this is first a restaurant - gave it the one star.

Linh Nguyen

Food was awesome. I will come back to get Hand carved Roast Beef sandwich again.

Derek Mason

Great little place with fantastic food. It's a hipster place. Some foods can be pricey. There are some veggie foods for those who don't want meat. I loved the meatloaf.

Lois Cavallo

Disappointed. Finally made it to this place last weekend and tried a variety of things. The duck ramen was super salty, was better once we added water to dilute it. The rotisserie chicken was dry, tasty but dry. Bought 2 lbs of chopped meat to make meatloaf and it was not very good. My meatloaf is always good so I have to attribute it to the beef. Even the beef fat chocolate chip cookies were just ok. I'm all for farm to table but this place doesn't do it as well as others and for the prices it's not worth the trip back for me.

Sam L

This place has excellent food and great atmosphere. Loved the ramen chicken and the cornbread yum!!

Delaney Ross

If you want meat of any kind, this is the absolute best place to get it! I was so excited to find Grass and Bone as a butcher when I moved to Mystic. Their rotisserie chickens are the best and all of their dishes taste great. What's more, they sell organ meat, which I buy for my dogs (you can see Bourbon's super shiny coat in the pic, thanks to her organ supply!)

Top notch all around. Their butcher counter is stocked, well maintained and reasonably priced for the quality of it. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They offer a menu as well, which I’ve yet to try, but looks delicious. They have some really special offerings in their dry aging case if you’re looking to impress. Plenty of parking as they have their own lot, which is a nice accommodation for a shop in Mystic. We’ll be back again and again.

Es-pec-ta-cu-lar!! Increïbles sandvitxos de carn amb molta creativitat i una carn boníssima, jo he provat el de Roast Beef i el Buffalo chicken. L'hem descobert de casualitat i ha estat una autèntica troballa, totalment recomanable!!

Had the pork ramen. Great.

Great food. Little pricey but I'll definitely be back

Susan Tozier

Great food and friendly staff! Can't wait to visit again....in warmer weather.

Sean Mokler

Fantastic food and an amazing local butcher. Haven't had a bad meal yet, great takes on classic sandwiches and tasty specials. I don't think you can go wrong here.

Denise Stetson

If you like meat and supporting local agriculture, this place is perfect.

Great place for organically grown local food

Kyle Mastro

Unbelievable. Seriously come here. My wife and I came an entree of rotisserie chicken with a side cornbread with maple butter. The chicken was really fresh and perfectly seasoned. The seasoning didnt overwhelm the meat, but instead added greatly to the final product. The cornbread was well cooked, not too sweet and the maple butter really added something.

I recently found out about this place and been twice so far. The rotisserie chicken is hands down AMAZING! Also, this place has their own parking lot (Parking can be tricky in Mystic). Will be going back soon!

Omar Barkawi

Really really really good and unique food! This is a great place to have a quick gourmet bite. Everyone was also very nice

Peter Costakos

So simple, so good

Grant Patten

Fantastic place! A little gem to find. Tim and Catherine were exceptionally helpful (although to be fair all the staff were very helpful), we stopped in for a bite to eat and a beer. The chicken (recommended by Tim) was really tasty and the beer (the pitcher is great value) washed it down just right. The meat selection is really good, all the cuts looked great and we picked up a tomahawk steak that just melted in the mouth. So glad we stopped in here. Highly recommend this place. They are also dog friendly for the outside seating.

Sheldon Warfield

Wonderful down-home cooking with a millennial flair. Try the meatloaf and you'll never make your own again...it's soooooo good!

Evan Robinson

best spot if u wanna eat amazing food. i recommend anything on the menu.

Brigid Blaschak

My friends and I went there for New year's Eve dinner. The tenderloin I had was awesome. My friends got the ribeye, which was enormous. I highly recommend the French onion soup. Least favorite were the sides of kale and mushrooms. Both were a little too salty for my taste. Overall, a good place to go for farm fresh food.

Laura Pere

Excellent dinning experience. Excellent local faire. Lovely bunch of folks running the place. Just what the town needed.

Tricia Murgio

Amazing as always!

Mike Lovering

This place is AMAZING. The staff are very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the food is expertly prepared. We sampled the chicken noodle soup, rotisserie chicken (regular and spicy buffalo), burger, handmade noodles, and the beef fat chocolate chip cookies . Everything we tried was great, and will definitely visit here again!

I can’t say enough good things about Grass & Bone, menu is top notch and the staff are always so friendly! We live in town but it’s worth a detour off 95 if your driving and want a great meal!!

The food was as delicious as it's possible for food to be. My daughter was especially fascinated by the meat curing in the cooler.

irst off all, can we talk about the concept of having a butcher's place right dap smack inside a restaurant !?! Needless to say, this meat was going to be from grass-fed, farm-raised, caged-free, organic, "what else am I missing" quality livestock. While attending Mystic Eats, we heard this place newly opened and were able to stop by on our last day in Mystic. Inside was simple but still modern. Very spacious. They had 2 big deli-like counters. On the right was the butcher side with a big display of meats. I ordered about 3 to go (ground meat, chicken and steak). One the left was a larger counter where you can order food to stay or go. There I had the whole rotisserie chicken to go (seasoned with thyme, paprika and garlic) with the fat roasted potatoes with corn bread maple syrup and garlic kale. Since we were hitting the road, I also ordered the Good to the bone Chicken sandwich (aioli, tomato and pesto) and the Butcher's Dip (warm beef ,horseradish jus). Verdict. That rotisserie chicken is the truth. It lasted us a good 2 days between 2 people. Very well spiced. As for the sides, the garlic kale was my favorite. I have never had Kale that tender and delicious. It almost tasted like spinach. I'm about to look up this recipe and duplicate it at home. The sandwiches we had while on the road. I would say the butcher's dip was more fit for the road, less greasy. The chicken with the pesto sauce was super greasy. Tastewise, everything was good. Flavors were well balanced. Cooked the meat for the week. The meat carried that butcher quality that makes a huge difference in taste. Overall, this is place is a great farm to table concept.

Dawid Liniewski

Really cute place with a lot of great food. Locally sourced food is fresh and made to order. Great vibe.

Patrick Crough

Top notch all around. Their butcher counter is stocked, well maintained and reasonably priced for the quality of it. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They offer a menu as well, which I’ve yet to try, but looks delicious. They have some really special offerings in their dry aging case if you’re looking to impress. Plenty of parking as they have their own lot, which is a nice accommodation for a shop in Mystic. We’ll be back again and again.

Found many pieces of cartridge and bones In the chickens salad sandwich. Told the person at the counter all she had to say was sorry. I will not be back.

Karen Heggerud

Can't say enough great things. Quality and flavor was outstanding!!

Rio

The beef was really tender and juicy, not too fatty. Made some burgers with the ground chuck and I was not disappointed. It’s the kind of cool little hip burger that should be in every town. One day I’m gonna pop in for a sandwich.

Frank White

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for take out. It was the last day of mystic eats festival and traffic was bad so we stopped for something quick. We ordered a half chicken and 3 sides. We went with the corn bread, macaroni salad, the chicken fat potatos. The chicken was tastey but I don't think I could tell the difference from any other rotisserie chicken. And for the price of half a chicken you can get a super bird right down the street that feeds 4. Also adding garlic to mayo doesn't make it a sauce. The potatos were slightly under cooked while the bottoms were slightly over cooked. I think had they turned them once while cooking they would have had a better texture. For the corn bread I was a little disappointed. $5 for a dry corner piece... the maple butter was good but it was all melted so it kind of got lost. Finally my favorite side was the macaroni salad. Good taste but again $5 for the bottom of a container filled with macaroni with mayo and old bay is a bit steep. Nothing was bad but I was really hoping to be wowed.

Peter Volkmar

What a great treat, a warm and muggy rain threatened day in downtown Mystic, CT made meat and a pitcher of beer over-desired. Has the Grandpa Ruben and Mac salad. Wifey had the half rotisserie chicken with roasted potatoes. All that and the Modelo Especial left no room for dessert! What a nice place and seemed busy but comfortable and had a nice seating area outside. Definitely will be going back and recommend to friends.

Ken Blanchard

Nice place and good service but the food I had was not worth the price. Ordered the Grandpa Reuben for $13 with a soda ($4.00). The sandwich was small both in size and content, and came with 3 pickle slices. It was thin on the meat and sparse on the sauerkraut. I'm not one who favors or seeks mega meals for $13, but my plate was disappointing to look at, and the Reuben sandwich was just OK. I can't vouch for the other items on the menu, but would certainly not recommend the Grandpa Reuben sandwich, especially if you're hungry...

David Seng

Happened upon this great little place during their happy hour. nice selection of beer and wine. Would highly recommend the rotisserie chicken, the pork tacos, the pork Bowl Pho, the corn bread and the Mardi crudo, not a fan of their Reuben. Overall very happy with Grass & Bone.

Whoa..just whoa. Quality 5*. Atmosphere 5*. Seating is a bit tight but hey it's not a diner. It's a hole in the wall, quality over quantity shop. Worth the $. The Thai soup knocked me on the behind, as did their cheeseburger. And I'm not a fan of onions

Eric Roy

Wonderful service by people who really care and are passionate about what they're doing! Great selection of good quality organic and grass fed meats. Nice to have such great sustainable choices in a downtown setting! We'll be back to eat soon! And thank you for the bones for making broth!

This is a farm-to-table restaurant. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I enjoy the rotisserie chicken but there are many menu options available. They also have a butcher shop and a case with filled with food items such as bone broth, potato salad, coleslaw, and other options. The staff is awesome!

Jose Flores
