Used to go to their main store in New Haven, delighted to see this small but quality branch now open here. Their meat is unsurpassed, love their 100% ground beef and chicken breasts. It isn't pumped full of water, unlike meat from S&S. Have had their filet Mignon twice and it is extremely tender and flavorful. Oh, if you are on a diet, stay away from the cinnamon bread. It is too delicious, especially when you use it for French toast.

First I have to say that I grew up on Ferraro's and have never found a better hot dog whether it's kosher or from New York (and I've lived on both coasts). Having said that, I was ecstatic to learn that Ferraro's was opening right down the street and I wouldn't have to go into New Haven for my meat fix. Don't get me wrong; if you have never gone to Ferraro's main store, you HAVE TO go to really get the whole experience. Not only is the selection of meats absolutely massive, (You want tripe, pigs feet, turkey necks or whatever? You will find it.) but there's a place in back called the butcher's block where you're offered ridiculous deals on yesterday's meats. I had a package of pre-made burgers in my cart (about 7+ dollars) and the butcher asked me if I'd prefer 3 packages for 15 dollars!!! If you're on a budget, and you like meat, you will not do any better than this. And if your REALLY looking for the best deals you will ever find, go there on a Saturday afternoon when they sell what's left for, literally, pennies on the dollar. This kind of service you'll find in the main store only, but the Madison store is still totally worth visiting. First, if you're not on the mailing list, SIGN UP. Every week you'll get their flyer and you can order anything on sale (sale items are available at the satellite stores in limited quantities) and pick it up later, but the real benefit are the amazing one-day sales that are offered thru email. Things like stuffed shrimp for $.99 each (very tasty and a favorite of ours) keep me checking my email often. Most meat is prime variety and it's all highest quality. The store also offers sauce packs, pre-made meatballs and anything you might need to complete your dinner. Fresh bread is also available as well as a smile from Ivana when you walk in the door. There are 2 Mikes there to help you with any questions and they are all very nice. So forget Big Y or Stop and Shop, when it comes to meat (Big Y's meats are "choice" and S+S's are just terrible). A better grade of meat at a lower price is what you'll always get at Ferraro's.

Everything is precut at the Madison location, but the selection is good and the prices and quality are great. They even have a lot of the common fresh or non perishable ingredients you might need with the meat (some produce, onions, seasonings and sauces etc).

Update: After eating the steak I was mad about having to wait for, all I can say is the quality makes up for the problems. Horrible. Waited 1.5 to get my order and they screwed it up. Said they couldn't fix it and offered no discount or resolution whatsoever. Don't waste your time with this place Update: After waiting a few more hours they fixed the order but didn't offer a discount or anything. So upped it from 1 star to 3. Is day only go here on slow days. Avoid the holidays

I have a calendar reminder every week to check the circular for all the deals that they offer. Just picked up my 40 count of 1" cut to order rib eyes at an unbelievable price. What a cool place.. easy to access shop on the Post Rd in Madison.. a smaller shop that will meet your meat needs.. their turkey breast cold cut cannot be beat.. their is no deli for service.. everything is prepackaged.
