This Bowling Alley is classified in the category of Bowling alley.
This place sucks even when compared to other Bowl Americas.
Good place for family with kids. If you like to get together with friends and have some drinks while playing or while watching a game this is not the place for you. The only alcoholic beverages they sell is beer.
It's a nice bowling place for chill birthday or a afternoon. Would recommend to eat before or after you come bowling. For a large pizza with toppings, is $30.00, not including a combo or drinks. Pizza is bland and ordinary. Staff is friendly but not too friendly. DON'T PLAY THE CLAW MACHINES! They are scams and cost one dollar for ONE play! The claws are SUPER loose and it doesn't even pick up the items!
Loved it and good food
Bad service. I had 8 free ticket for 8 game. They didn’t tell I can play only 8 game. I end up paying 70 dollars out of my pocket. Very rude costumer service.
Great staff. They made our Father's Day experience memorable.
Good sized bowling alley. A lot of lanes and can accommodate groups. They have a good sized menu. The staff was very friendly.
Bowling is fun but the food is very expensive.
First time that i went bowling i had a great time.
Lots of young kids with no interest in bowling, obnoxious families, cramped lanes, balls need to be cleaned, scoring computers from the 80s. Seems like the owners are just trying to make money and don't put any money back into their establishment.
It's your standard bowling alley but the great thing was they had games for only 1$. Also hotdogs for 1$. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the ball return was super slow. My family had a good time and we'd go again.
Great fun, more beers to choose from than most bowling lanes.
Good spot for bowling. Affordable pitchers. Thursday has a good bowling deal.
Sundays after 6pm is the best time to go
They are great for adults and kids alike. It's not blacklight clean disco crazy like some modern places, but the crowd is pleasant and the mood is always happy. League bowling takes first priority, but parties who reserve in advance will find space even at peak times.
Cool for kids and me too.
Bad service ever
Lots of fun
Great lanes, great shot, great bowling. Great spot for family fun!
Nice employees...fun spot
Awesome, classic bowling alley.
Great place to have good time. With family or friends. Only thing they need to do is updated the screens, its very old. Otherwise always a good experience.
Old school fun
A little out of the way but friendly and fun!!
Nice place... good prices
Fantastic Bowling Alley! While the place appears to be a little outdated, I run into very few issues with the lanes when I come here. The prices are very reasonable compared to some other bowling alleys. Also the Staff is very mindful, and appreciates regular business. One night there was a rude family whose kids kept stepping in front of me. They even kept using my personal bowling ball after I asked them nicely not to. The staff picked up on this without me having to ask them, and came to assist. I was very impressed they noticed! Unfortunately the family didn't stop after multiple requests. When I finally got fed up and left, Bowl America gave me more vouchers for free games than I had even played! Very pleased with the service
Great staff. Can get busy!
Solid bowling alley.
Typical bowling alley that needs new equipment.
Older bowling alley with very old computer scoring machines. As a result, it's pretty cheap to bowl. Full service bar with kitchen (typical bowling food: hamburgers, pretzels, hotdogs, nachos......)
They closed our lane before 1 o'clock.
Nice place and decent pricing
Great fun! Weird men's bathroom with cardboard everywhere on the floor?? But clean, good food albeit pricey for fried everything basically but a great oasis just off 395.
Friendly staff, and clean, but the decor hasn't been touched since 1980. Not necessarily a bad thing, since everything appears well-maintained, just an observation. Keep your food expectations low and you will be pleased.
Fun afternoon for bowling. Lots of lanes. Bumpers and ball ramps for the kids. Reasonably priced. Does exactly what it says on the tin
Good bowling.
My nephew love it a good place for a family relaxation
Cleanest bowling alley I've been in. Food is excellent and service is outstanding.
The bathrooms were super clean.
Best but screens are old . Overall nice place . Everything functioning well
Good place
It is a decent place to hang out.
Great place to go have some fun!
Decent bowling alley. The display screens and scoring system are all pretty dated. They do cosmic bowling on Saturday at 10pm, but, its not that dark inside and the cosmic colors aren't that strong. Fun place overall though!
Good local spot!
Nice pricing and comfortable environment
For the price, the value is great. Beer and lane rental is cheap and the service very helpful. Definitely worth a visit
Great place ...nice entertainment
OK. It's about the friends and family that you're bowling with that makes it a good time. The lanes are good although I am not expert enough to critique the consistency of the grease patterns on the lanes and the other technical specifics that come with the sport. At least, the rental shoes and scoreboards are updated. The rest of the facility is ready for some modernization (unless the owners love and want the 'old school feel'). Looks like the 80s in there! The beer is cold, but OMG are the chicken wings salty!
Extremely poor customer service. Food staff were friendly but other staff members, including the manager, made the experience unpleasant. Will not be going back.
I league bowl there, great place to have fun and food is good
Good bowling alley.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It was our first time there, and will definitely be our last. The staff was incredibly rude (3 different people in our group commented about how rude the staff was to them within the first 30 minutes), and at the end of the night, one of the employees got uncomfortably confrontational. We addressed it with the manager, and to make a long story short, she scoffed at our complaints and implied that she has enough returning customers that she doesn’t really care if we return. The food staff was excellent though so I guess they saved the day and they get the one star.
Is very nice place
Wine for $3.49, yes please! We had an awesome time bowling as a family - it was super accommodating for a 2 & 4 year old. The atmosphere was definitely retro, but would you expect anything less from a bowling alley?! If you are looking for one of the fancy new places, this isn't your stop, but if you want some classic family fun, stop by!
Bowled league during summer, found the staff was excellent and house maintained very well. Snack bar is excellent, offering foods normally not expected and done very well. Lanes are a challenge with shot changes during league and tournament play. Nice place to go to hang out and watch or bowl. As with any house, call beforehand to find out scheduling of league play.
I took my boys here after school and was impressed. The service and staff were kind, efficient, and welcoming. The place was clean and even fresh (not at all like the stale bowling alley feel that I expected). Honestly before I went I was sort of dreading going (I only agreed to go because my boys begged for several weeks), but we ended up having a great time and I would gladly head back for another visit.
Awesome place to bowl, friendly people, and a fun atmosphere
Heart place to dine.
This establishment allows smoking and I'm highly allergic to nicotine so I don't recommend anyone go here who is also allergic or just doesn't like to smell it or smell like it.
We loved it! Great service n place.
Restaurant chicken way over cooked
Great atmosphere and fun time. Just a little overpriced!
In need of an update, but still very fun. The fries are good.
Shity ass service annoying asian lady
Staff is friendly, but the lanes are just awful. Not a drop of oil on them. Poorly maintained.
This place is not fancy, but it's fun!!!! Reasonable prices, great staff.
Your average aging bowling facility. The staff are great and very accommodating. The balls are fairly rough, it was hard to find a 12lb that didn't have gouges or deep nicks in it. The equipment is the older style small monitors with MS-DOS looking score keeping, no graphics or fancy software. That being said, the prices are fantastic. If you're looking for an inexpensive fun time and don't require all the latest technology, this is a great option. If you're looking for an alley with cosmic lighting, projection screens everywhere and newer consoles, this isn't your spot.
Took my 2 older boys today. We all had a great time. The staff was very helpful, being it was my 4 year old first time bowling. Will definitely go back!
Great place, I enjoyed my game. I wish if they had the music early
It was a great first impression. The computer system is a bit conventional and could be up to date. However, it works properly. It's very affordable. They have deals on Sundays before 6 pm. I believe it's $2.00 They also have a food court a d provide services for parties.
Want a happy place? Want to get out of the house? This is where to go.
It’s was a special night to watch others bowl . Was on the cold side . But man they had hot chocolate , and they had a great food selections
Nice family environment.
Awesome place and fun for the family!
It was okay old technology
Good place to have some fun
Overall had a great time here. However I feel like not allowing someone to purchase any new games at 12:15am because you close at 1am isn't the best business move
Great they have good food and a good place to spend time with family and firends
we had fun at this place
The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a blast!
We enjoy bowling here as a family, and they offer "Blast Passes" that you can sign up for so kids (and sometimes parents) get to bowl for free (you still pay for the minimal cost of shoe rental). As other reviewers state, the decor isn't very up to date. But they have updated their arcade area with a Mario Kart Racing, Pac Man, motorcycle racing, etc. The employees are quite friendly and helpful. When we go during the day it's not too crowded. They have bumpers and ramps for little ones. We recommend it!
Pretty good because they have endless games from 9 - 12, however the place isn't the cleanest or the newest.
Leagues started at 7, we were there at 5 and denied a lane because they were unsure how many teams were playing. Unbelievable. Terrible will never go here again
Lanes were oily
Your basic bowling alley with a grill and snack shop inside. No complaints.
Love this place. Use to bowl league till I moved. Best fried zucchini ever
Decent aging bowling alley, took me back to when I was a kid, older games... Bowling alley food, just everything you expect from a bowling alley.
So much fun for everyone
I liked the games but not the bowling.
Bowl America is a fun, great place to go bowling.
We had our sons 4th birthday party there and it was just fantastic!! So much fun for kids and the adults.
Had my son's 11th birthday party there. The staff is amazing and accomidating. If you're looking for a place to do a party this place is great. Had so much fun!
Smells funny, food needs attention, but if you are just looking for bowling you will be ✔
Older bowling alley. Very family friendly.
Nice place to open bowl.... join a league for more fun.
Terrible experience.
Lots of lanes to play on. Decent selection of bowling balls. A lot more expensive for games and shoes than from where I am originally from. Where a game costs like $3 and shoes cost around $1. But from what I hear bowling in the DMV is very expensive. Food is what you would expect from a bowling alley.
The bowling equipment is too old, it needs to be updated extremely bad!
First time here, we've usually used the AMF down on Pickett. Bigger than it looks. Not bad inside. Was there with my company for a few games. Efficient and friendly. Very helpful. For food we had pizza, wings, meatballs and fried mozzarella sticks. Pizza could have been warmer tbh but it was fine apart from that. The wings were very, very good. Deep fried goodness
Nice alley but scoring machines work fine but are from the 70s or 80s.
Dated bowling alley but they do a great job with youth bowling
Nice place to bowl as you eat and drink beer
I was shocked when I entered the place, I have never been to such a bowling arena in my life, it was as if I'm in 80's horrible simply horrible, the balls were oily the computers were as old as first computer was invented, I will never go again, please don't spoil your mood if you really wana enjoy bowling, the equipment is also faulty lol, that was hilarious the score went wrong, and machine was picking extra balls itself, if u don't care about above mentioned things and u just wana bowl all night for like 20$ two players with shoes, then go,
Food not good over priced for everything
Enjoyed time at the lanes. Some arcade games and snack bar.
All of the arcade machines are broken and they refuse to refund your money. The establishment is also very rude and the entire place is very old and dilapidated. The bowling system is antiqued and i would highly recommend another bowling spot.
Food prices was super high
Nothing fancy, but the price is reasonable and they have a lot of lanes.
Great Sunday spot to bowl
Fun! But food is wayyy overpriced.
Was v busy, but wasn’t happy with the ally
My family and I had a fun time here. It has a late 80s vibe
Very nice experience. The place is not updated and that's most of it's charm. Despite a classic feel, it's clean and clealry maintained by people who care. Attended a 5 yr old birthday there and it was a very good time. The people who work there care about what they're doing.
Nice cool clean alley can stand some upgrades
It was so much fun there.
Walked in at 1708 looking to bowl two games. 3 lanes in use at the time. Were denied access because "league was beginning at 1900". No negotiation, no apology just said they didn't have a lane for us. When I said we would be done by 1800, he just shrugged. How does a place like this turn profit?
It was Bowl America 6540 Edsall Road and it was good we had fun the kids enjoyed it tremendously and the hot dogs were off the chain
A lot of the lanes were broken down and looked like no hope of being fixed at any point of the night. Over an hour wait on a Saturday. Never again. There are plenty of better Bowl America's. Besides that the atmosphere seems happy and staff are very friendly.
Employees are always nice and food is good.
Attended a child's birthday party there with my son. We had a good experience. Friendly helpful people and it was well kept. Plentiful parking.
Aside from a few out of place modern arcade games, this place looks like it hasn't been touched since the 80's/90's. Could use a real makeover...on the plus side there are plenty of lanes, it's cheap and we had no technical issues with the lanes.
Great Place given Free game s
The bowling alley was great great prices and great deals
Grill area is under manned...it takes a long time to get one item because its usually on two people working.
Not many "normal" bowling alleys in northern va. Decent place (although older) with reasonable prices. Not the best equipment for keeping score or ball return, but it did perform reliably when I was there.
BOWL AMERICA IS THE BEST
fun place to hang...
Quiet and fun. I really enjoyed myself.
Great place to have fun with family and friends.
If you're a performance bowler or trying to become one, this is a great place. The games are cheap, the lane availability is great and the lanes are never too dry. They're light to barely medium oil and they offer a good THS challenge. It's great for bowling hobbyists mainly because it isn't trying to be a nightclub and a bowling alley at the same time. All you can bowl on weeknights after 9:30 pm is a great way to improve your game without spending a fortune. If you just want to have fun with friends or eat some gourmet food, I'd try AMF's offerings. But if you just want to bowl, Bowl America is perfect.
I Love It Very Nice Place Can't Wait To Go Back
Nice spot will good deals on Sunday
Over priced food center is outdated
Big bowling alley, good prices
How much they charge it
Nice, large facility with a lot of lanes. A throw-back to the 1960s. The food is mediocre but, hey, it's a bowling alley. Service behind the counter is slow; it's one of those places that, after waiting 5 minutes in line, you start watching the people to see exactly what they are (or aren't) doing. Pretty much just moving from point to point not doing much. It's pretty easy to miss the entrance to the place. It's a small, nearly unmarked drive off of Edsall Road. See photo.
This Bowling Center is well maintained. They recently made some upgrades to their computer/scoring system. The Bowling and the food are reasonably priced (especially the Group Bowling Packages).
Great place, employees are helpful, snack bar good as well.
We enjoyed our visit. Staff was very professional and helpful! Great time! Thanks!
Typical bowling joint, I give it 4 stars because it isnt dead. It is a thriving business and is usually carrying a large crowd.
My 1st time there With my grand kids . We enjoyed it was nice and clean the food court was clean the bathrooms were clean I was very impressed in head the let the manager know I enjoyed and it was a Well cap bowling alley really enjoyed will go back.
Recently remodeled and added some great arcade games. For food you can't go wrong with the chicken wings and the potato wedges.
A little pricey but the food is good, especially the pizza.
I am used to bowling at places where the computer systems are lot more advanced. Visiting here can make you feel you tuned back 10 years. Very cheap though. Lanes still worked. No issues
It's a wonderful place for bowling, I like the place.
Bowling Alley is showing its age, but aren't we all. Even so, everything is well maintained, and the lanes are in good condition. An even bigger plus - the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
A little old looking, dry lanes for the serious bowler. Food is expensive
Lots of fun for a kid's birthday party! We'll certainly consider it for our next party.
Had my daughter's fifth birthday party here and was great time for kids and easy for adults to manage...which is awesome. The staff was very courteous and responsive. The staff sets the tables, puts out the food and drinks, and we got to sit back and enjoy. Pizza was great as well.
Not the place to go if you want one of those bourgeoisie bowling alleys where they serve sushi and have a live DJ. Most certainly the place to be if you want to bowl several games and maybe throw back a few pitchers of cold macrobrew and enjoy crispy and salty French fries.
Awesome Bowling center very competitive, and exciting leagues very well run and maintained always a great time
Good fun, food, and updated bowling center.
Old school, but no complaints.
It's kids friendly and just so much fun!
Me and Baby haveing fun we love it
Decent bowling ally, the closest one to Alexandria for now so not many options. The balls are pretty dented and the food is okay.
Very nice bowling center. It is a little older and you can tell but the lanes were taken care of.
