Great bowling. Needs a little updating.

We went to Royal Z on Two Notch for my son's birthday party. We had 12 kids, and had requested the pizza option for the party. We also ordered an extra pizza. When the food came out, the pizza slices were TINY because they had sliced one smallish pizza into 12 pieces (since we had 12 kids). The pizza tore, so the "helper" used the extra pizza that I bought to give each child a slice. I asked if she was considering that the "extra" pizza that I bought and she said yes. I had to explain that it wasn't my fault that the pizza tore and couldn't be used, and that shouldn't be counted as the extra. She asked her manager, and they agreed to give us another pizza. However, that pizza had to be cooked, which took a long time. The kids were then later getting back to bowling. They had one game before food, and started another game after the food. The kids were on the 9th frame when we hit the 2 hour mark. It was announced that the party was over, and the lanes were turned off. Since it was the last frame, I asked if they could just finish, and was told no. For the price of this party, I expected much more. The food was bad, the service was bad, and the kids didn't even get to finish 2 games. THEN, when paying, I was pressured to tip our "hostess." I will never EVER come back to your location, and I encourage anyone and everyone to avoid it at all costs for a child's party. Clearly, your Royzl Z knows nothing about customer service.

Service is terrible . Had a birthday certificate to bowl and couldn’t use it because they wanted me to “PRINT IT OUT”!!!!!!!!!!! At 10 PM. I refer anybody to go to Fort Jackson to bowl. Great place to bowl and not with the foolishness there !!

Nice place to take your family to have some fun. Excellent customer service. If they don't want to bowl there an entertainment center located inside where they can play pinball games. Also there is a bar area for the adults with pool tables inside. If your hungry there is a snack bar with some good chicken wings. My husband and I go here every week to have fun and hang out with friends.

Bowled here several times and never had a problem until tonight. We were told because we didn't have kids with us we couldn't get bumper guards even though we have had them many times before without kids. That is a ridiculous rule that cost them our business.

Awesome place to go have some good clean fun. And the food is just awesome as well. Check out the pro shop wile your there. It’s where they sale bowling stuff and I mean a lot of stuff please go check them out. Can’t hurt to go look.

I used to like their lanes until they started using the older oil. you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn standing next to it, that is how bad it was. Unfriendly and disrespectful staff, poor service to leagues. I'd recommend going to a different bowling alley in the city.

Royal Z Lanes is a great place to bowl with the whole family or friends. The lanes are clean and in excellent working condition. There's also a game area with a variety of fun games for all ages. The price is good, but the music is not the best. Overall, it's great!

I really enjoy going to Royal Z. I worked there for 5 years. I know so many people from working and bowling there. I bowl a league on Thursday night and I am there 2 nights a week. The employees are very friendly and the bowlers and customers are awesome. Thank you for a wonderful experience every time I'm there.

This alley is definitely not family friendly. We took our children here with a group of friends and the manager "Dave" was very unhelpful and disrespectful. I would give their customer service rating ZERO stars. We hadn't been bowling in a while and instead of helping us, he just told us to "figure it out" as far as how to set up the screens. Bathrooms were disgusting, food was nasty, the whole place is just a bad experience! We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere! I never write reviews but after the terrible experience I had with my family, I felt obliged to say how terrible the staff truly is, but I can see by reading other reviews that's a common theme.

I bowl weekly at Royal Z Lanes and not only is it extremely fun but the staff is amazing. They really make you feel like part of the family. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. On top of that they have really cool inexpensive leagues and great music.

I went to the bowling alley tonight the bar was very nice and the bathrooms were clean. My only complaint is that when I ordered my sandwich the young man cooking it name Kyle did not put gloves on and also put his fingers in his mouth. When I confronted him he said that he was not going to touch my food he was going to wash his hands and I told him that he cannot be doing that and I asked could I buy him some oral gel if his mouth hurts like that. So I was so grossed out I did not eat the sandwich I did indeed throw it away and I think that they should speak to their kitchen staff about safety and food handling because that can ruin business.

Very affordable. Nice facility and staff. They even helped get a gutter ball that was stuck and found xx small bowling balls for my little one. I highly recommend getting the early. By noon, the people that arrived after us had to wait for a lane.

Bowling alley is seriously outdated and in need of a make over. The carpet, bowling balls, lockers, and keyboards are at least 70 years old. Lanes are way to slick and pins seem to stick. Paid way to much for a family of 5. It was $39 to bowl two games and then $22 for shoes. This was with military discount...lol. Not worth your money or time!

My daughter absolutely loves this place but everytime I come here there obviously been people smoking in the bathroom and it just looks dirty. The young guy at the customer service desk is very polite but they should get new help in the snack bar .

Went for my kid's 9th birthday party. Had 20 kids, and they brought out ONE pizza, when all kids should have been served. Then we were told it would be 20 minutes for another pizza. We ended up getting hot dogs for kids who were unable to eat. No compensation was offered, and they had the audacity to ask for tips. The restaurant there is TERRIBLE as far as service goes. It took nearly 12 minutes to get a drink when i arrived with only 3 patrons in front of me. This place is truly pathetic and need a good dose of customer service training. I won't be back, unless I am informed of new management.

Normally we go her for all of our family events. we work out the details with Kimberly who is amazing. Today we decided to have my son's 5th bday party there because he wanted to go bowling. the random guy with an attitude started yelling when we walked we walked in "no outside food!!!" not knowing what he was talking about or who he was talking to... we kept walking. Approximately 30 seconds later a security guard (armed) walks up to my 67 year old mother and yells we dont have any outside food in here. she had a cup of coffee from DD that she brought in with her. we asked... well what about the cake....? He says... you cant have that in here either... and keeps repeating "thats gotta go... yall gotta go... thats gotta get outta here... yall need to leave" Needless to say our group which consisted of 3 grandmothers about 10 children and about 6 adults left and went over to the bowling alley at Quaker Steak and Lube. we had a blast the rest of the night. ROYAL Z LANES MISSED OUT ON HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN SALES TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE. WE WILL NEEEEEEEEEEEEVER RETURN FOR ANY FUTURE GATHERINGS EVENTS PARTIES OR NIGHT OUTS! THE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY AND DID NOT HAVE TO ESCALATE TO WHERE IT DID. THE OWNER DIDN'T EVEN CARE THAT WE WOULDN'T RETURN!!! please spend your money elsewhere. there are lots of better bowling Alleys in Columbia that will provide better customer service in a better environment than this out dated stuck in 1979 bowling alley. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! .......I WILL.....!

The machine kept getting clogged up to send the balls back. We played 4 games and had problems the hold night. Then to top it off we were never offered anything for these issues but harrassed by the female desk clerk about our damn military ID card for a discount! Then she told us this would be our last time using coupons and the military ID together at the same time. We probably want be going back!

I went there and I only go to the arcade portion because at the moment I cant bowl due acl surgery. I asked a staff member and a manager and ask if I can have a chair to sit at the machine they both told me they were allowed to put chairs at the machines liability. That was a deal breaker for me I played just a few games and left I explained why I ask for the chair so I went to beltline lanes and spent me money there. Nobody want to be standing at the slot machine hurt or not if that's were i want to be and spend my money I should be comfortable doing it

This place is becoming a great place to hang out for family and couples and individuals. They are adding an arcade and soon we'll be adding bumper cars. They have great customer service. The food is great. It takes a little time to get your food but is all cooked fresh from things like fresh potatoes cut into fries and fried. The chicken is not precooked it is raw and cooked from raw to order. The bar is a great place to be. And they have lots of specials that makes it of an affordable place to be. They have also cleaned up there outside and cleaned up there crowds. I love it here.

This place is good for beginners as in bowling. Some up grade have been made. The lanes are ok but sometimes the pins are off count. They habe a good summer program for kids and families you just pay to rent shoes and bowl two games free.

The worst bowling experience I've ever had. The staff was rude. They didn't say anything to us before starting to oil the lane we were using. Right in the middle of the game! The snack bar guy was short with us. The bartender showed up late and didn't acknowledge us because he was setting up...late! The whole place needs a facelift. We will definitely not be going back to this dump.

Worst customer service ever!!! We had a party for 11 people (not all were bowling) so we were given 2 lanes and on the paper that they give you it tells you what lanes, the rate per game, and shoe cost. So we paid for the shoes in advance and started bowling, when we were all finished and going to check out there are now 2 different workers at the desk, we bring up the paper to cash out and they changed the price that we were given (only $1 more per game) but that’s not what we were told. So I talked to the one guy and explained to him that were were quoted a different rate and he said well there’s nothing I can do about that, so I asked to speak to a manager so he directed me to Dave and this is where it really gets bad. I explain to Dave (the manager) the situation and he is half paying attention and shrugging his shoulders and saying “well I can help what someone else told you they were wrong on the price” I said I have the paper that your guy gave us with the rate on it and now you are charging us more than what was quoted. He then started to get louder with me and started to use profanity towards me and my family, so I got loud with him back and told him how bad of an establishment he was running, and that we come here for the kids birthdays every year and that we will never come back to this place. I recommend that you find another bowling alley to go to. I also recommend to the owner to find people with integrity to hire from now on. I have never seen such bad customer service in my life!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!!!

went to bowl two separate times now and all they offer is “$17.50 per person for unlimited games until midnight” when you come in at 1130 to bowl one game with two people it’s not worth it to pay $40 to play. there were maybe 6 lanes being used and the rest of the lanes were empty . apparently that’s all they offer at that time but it’s a waste of time to go there and completely ridiculous that it is not an option to pay by game OR use their unlimited bowling deal like it used to be . won’t be back.

I'm glad I called before we went in because I was rudely told that "the leagues were taking up all the lanes, we don't have time for that!" Rude, unprofessional and not family friendly. My family has been coming here for years, but never again! We walked in (a large group of family) to celebrate my son's 5th birthday. we had a cake in hand and found a table and lane. to our surprise an armed security guard walked over to our family and says in a very rude tone "that food gotta go, everything has to go!" His tone and demeanor caught everyone off guard. That could have been handled in a more professional and family friendly way, but because of the lack of customer service and the carefree attitudes of the management we decided to take our business to Quaker Lube's bowling alley which turned out to be a blast! Customer service should always be your first priority when your running a business. the lack of respect that office approached us with over a children's cake cost them our business forever. they didn't seem to care, but I'm sure they will over time when they see their sales decline because the word has spread... 0 stars!
