Straight out of the 80's and probably not updated since then. Very much in need of repair. From the pot holes in the parking lot to the old smell of smoke from prior years, there isn't much positive except it has 10 pins and a ball return. Desk people were friendly and helpful.

All rap music does not show diversity. Don't get me wrong, I love some rap music but all new rap sucks. But then again I'm 41 and I graduated in 1994. I wish it was more 90's or 2000's hip hop. Maybe a little pop maybe a little country or dance or top 40. All I'm saying is the music sucks before 10pm

I enjoy bowling here, but I am really awful at it! The grill is a guilty pleasure. It's just a friendly neighborhood place. I even enjoy walking around their parking lot with friends. Always check living social or groupon for deals here.

We always have a good time here. Fun place to bring the little one to burn off some energy. Priced well. We usually bowl 2 games then hit the arcade games before we leave. The kiddo is almost always tired when we leave. It's a nice fun family place to go.

This is a great bowling alley, with wonderful staff! They need some updates, though. They are S L O W L Y working on it, though. I wish they would fix the parking lot and start replacing house balls. (We also had a pin the other day that was missing the top 2")

Called a week ahead to reserve lanes for a party, when there they told us they had no record of our reservations. If you want to bowl go to Casey, was able to take care of us last minute.

Sure are a bunch of haters that im just not sure i understand? This place has improved drastically over the last few years, cleaner, better scoring and they added a nice gameroom. (Which i dont really care about but its still nice?) If you're so uptight about a few mechanical issues that happen in every bowling alley -since the beginning of time - perhaps you should try golfing were all you can break is your clubs? This place was once moderately awful.... i'd have to say the renovations have only helped make this a better "family fun" venue. (Again not my thing but its still a fact) I would say a pro shop would be nice?

My family went here on Sunday afternoon when the alley was not doing any league bowling. We made sure to check since we know that it can be difficult to find an open Lane when a league is going on. They had 15 lanes not in use but insisted on not letting people use them as they were about to be cleaning them. But they were only doing the lanes one at a time. They had a waiting list going and we would have been fifth in line waiting. It's absolutely ridiculous to not allow people to use these open lanes.

The service was so slow that we waited 45 mins to get our pizza and there wasn't but a handful of people there. Had to ask to have music put on. Overall, it had lousy service and overpriced.

Awful service. Rude. Say they open at 9am online, so I show with my kids, doors are open at 9, but once inside they say they say don't open until 10am...if that's the case then lock the doors. Then I was told when they do open they won't have any lanes available until later. Been bowling for years and this is by far the dumpiest, most unprofessional center I've been to. Correct your hours of operation online, it's 2016.

This is one of your average bowling alleys. Not bad, but also not amazing. Went Saturday night and the lanes weren't oiled, which was a bummer. Also, super hot with no air circulation. Ceiling fans were running, but the AC wasn't sufficient... felt like it was 85 degrees at least. But, it's a decent place to hang out with friends for a couple of games.

Won't be coming back here. Even though smoking is banned in Richland County this establishment still is stuck back in the 80's making non smokers and people with allergies suffer through cancerous second hand smoke from the pool area. You wonder why your rating is low this is why poor service in an aging store. I'll go to a place in Columbia next time to avoid the indoor smoking.

There was one off the clock employee who tried to help us with our constantly malfunctioning lanes, but after he left, it was like pulling teeth to get any help. After the befuddled employee couldn't get our lane to keep score at all anymore, we decided to leave and asked for our money back for our partial game that we couldn't finish. We were treated like we were trying to swindle THEM and accused of having played more games than we claimed. I hate to say the staff was completely inept, because the one young man, whose name i regret not getting, did try to help us DESPITE being off the clock, even telling us that they should switch the lanes we were on, but aside from this young man, its a wonder the place is able to remain open with the way the staff treats the customers. And my chagrin is NOT over the measly 3 dollars back per person we were asking for. I would have gladly payed ANOTHER 3 dollars per game, to have been able to play somewhere that I can go more than 4 frames without having to wait 5-10 minutes for an employee to fix the equipment at the end of the lane. Save yourself the disappointment, and go to one of Columbia's other bowling alleys.

Went to the cosmic bowling and none of the lanes worked as we sat there for 30 minutes while the employees were attempting to fix the lane they were very unsuccessful. I ended up leaving and receiving a refund.

We live nearby and visit fairly often. We like the staff and atmosphere, but other reviews are accurate that there's often equipment malfunctions, it's dated equipment and it often feels like there's not enough staff on hand to handle those issues. Some updates would be nice. But it's still a nice, local outing for a family that isn't rushed.

So it's just like all the other 1 star reviews. This place seems to be held together by duct tape...literally. I'll try to take a picture. Game froze multiple times, pins got stuck, maintenance required every other frame. I'll just go to Lexington next time. Prices if you still want to come, $4 for shoes and $3 per game regular price.

Neighborhood friendly bowling alley. Definitely needs some updating, but doesn't effect the atmosphere or fun! We love a good bowling date night and we always choose Anchor Lanes. Friendly staff, food and drinks provided, and probably the best thing is it's no smoking! We love Anchor Lanes! Definitely recommend to all our friends and family!

BEWARE! Manager was extremely rude, constant equipment breakdowns, understaffed, overpriced, and inept staff. We waiting 30 minutes at the door, told we would have a lane in 30 minutes, and an hour and 15 minutes later the manager told us he didn't know when we would get a lane! DO NOT GO HERE!

This was my first time going to Anchor Lanes. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. We all had a great time and we loved the place. It has a family friendly atmosphere that we really enjoyed. It had been many years since we have went bowling but my wife says she wants to start going once a month. That's fine with me!

Anchor Lanes is a very good place to bowl. Join a league and bowl during the mornings or evenings.This place has opened bowling too. Games for adults and teens. A snack bar, a tavern with a pool table and TVs to watch the sports on while you relax.

Lanes are in very bad conditions. Lanes definitely needs to be resurfacing. You couldn't even use a custom bowling ball because the lanes would just chew// chip your ball all up. Parking lot has lots of potholes. I don't know what they're doing with the money that they are making but they are definitely NOT putting it back into business. The place is going down hill very quick!!

The prices for 2 games and 2 shoe rentals for my boyfriend and I was $14 so the price wasn't bad. Also they have so many lanes it seems to go on forever. However the lanes were way too oiled, and very run down. Each bowl was never the same because the lanes were cracked or ragged. Could definitely use an update to help make bowls more persistent.

We needed socks so I brought two pair. I understood the young man very clearly the socks were $2 a pair. Later when I looked at my account to do a transaction I noticed I was short $2. I went back to Anchor lanes to get back my $2. The other guy at the desk said it always been $3 for the past five years. His tone turned me off. Before I could tell him it was the other young man. They all should be on the same page.

I stood at the counter for over 20 minutes before I was acknowledged by a single employee. I looked in the snack bar, the bar, the game area and even stuck my head in the office saying "hellooooo" All to no avail. And sadly enough I should not have had to wait so long because I had been sent there by my own employer to pick an item up so I was expected.... Pitiful customer service.

Anchor would get 5 stars for staff friendliness & helpfulness, but gets 4 due to updates and maintenance needed. We get stuck pinsetter every 4 or 5 visits (staff fixes it quickly.) Difficult touch pads on some consoles (patience needed to enter names since touch touch recognition isn't lined up with displayed letters.) Some consoles have cracked plastic. One of the two water fountains has been out of order for months. Parking lot needs repaving & landscaping, preferably with some shade trees. Pro shop inside (separately owned) has limited hours & card processing issues (sometimes works, sometimes not.) No trouble using cards to bowl or rent shoes, as Anchor Lanes itself has a separate (working) system. Concession area sells Icees, bathrooms are okay, the staff is nice, & this is the nearest bowling center to my house, so I can overlook the ugly parking lot and deal with the other issues.

It's pretty nifty and the arcade selection is great for people who ended up stuck bowling with friends. The animations between bowls are pretty crappy but I guess that makes them okay because we laughed at them. All in all its a pretty good alley with reasonable prices.

Parking lot needs to be fixed and the lanes are a little worn. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It cost about $45 for two games for 3 people and shoes.

Got there after 10pm on a Saturday night, and there was a short waiting list, so I waited in the bar until the host came to tell us he had a lane for my 2 friends and me. All the staff was friendly, from the bar, to snack bar, to cashier/host and the folks doling out bowling shoes. Hell, even the customers were friendly (even if bowling etiquette was a foreign language to them). I haven't been to Anchor lanes since I moved to Florida in 2008, but I enjoyed spending my money there today as much as I ever did (and you can take that however you like!). I end up in town occasionally, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anchor Lanes to anyone, and I will definitely be back if the opportunity arises. Good memories to take away as usual. Thank you to the entire crew at Anchor Lanes!
