We really enjoy their laser/disco bowling. They turn the lights down, play music videos, and our kids have a blast. It has been perfect for birthday parties for our teenage boys.

Love this place especially night bowling

Great place to go bowling for sure but it could use a revamp. It's been there forever and is the only bowling alley that I know of in Chapel Hill. If you like knocking pins over with bowling balls and dislike long car rides to other bowling alleys, then this is most certainly the place for you.

I just have to say that Rico made my experience at Mardi Gras Bowling absolutely a delight! My cousin, her daughter and I all were treated very well and everything went smoothly thanks to Rico. He made sure we all enjoyed ourselves, AND he was an absolute sweetheart! I've never had a bad experience here, and I definitely know if Rico is there, I never will :)

Very helpful staff, quiet and clean. They even took the time to find a particular type of coffee for my fiance to drink; pretty impressive for a bowling alley!

My son (who is nine) and I went to Mardi Gras more than 20 times over the summer. Staff was friendly and helpful. I see these other complaints about not being able to bring in food. Uh, where else can you go than you can bring in your own food? Bringing in your own food is ridiculously rude. And the idea that they "force" you to buy their food? I've never once been forced. In fact, we've never bought food. We bowl two games, play the arcade, and then go home. And the other person complaining about paying beforehand. This is a new concept? Come on. And the league bowler discounts? No DJ? What is wrong with you people? My son and I went all summer and never had one issue. Not one. It's a bowling alley. They provide the balls, the pins, the lanes, and the shoes. It's clean and safe. The rest is up to you.

I've never been to this bowling alley without having something go wrong in the lane that I was in. Don't be fooled by the new sign on the outside. The inside is feels like you're being transported back in time 10 (20?) years.

Place is chill came out with my daughter on out N.C. trip and was the only bowling alley a short distance from hotel. Location - Plaza here has few restaurants, seems a bit deserted and slow. Venue - Normal size Bowling alley dated like many unless they become the bigger chains. Really dead in here, so feels like you got the place to yourself. Service - Employees here and nice and helpful, but then again it was onky like 6 people here when I came. Arcade - Very dated, old games, selection of games isnt great, game dont pay out many tickets, and prices are weak. Food - Didnt have any so cant say much about that. Parking - The outside lot has plenty of parking. Probably wouldn't come back as I would want something more hip, but its not a bad place and if I was down the st might consider it again.

The place is showing a little age, but still lots of fun. I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on it.

Old shoes that should have been replaced years ago. Terrible ball selection. Place is looking run down. Crappy snack bar. Too expensive for the experience you get. We had a good time but that was on us and not a result of the atmosphere. Too many other better alleys in the area to return here.

Great bowling alley. I visit mostly for the small but very fun arcade.

Nice place, friendly staff. Clean and well maintained. Kind of expensive to bowl. 2 people 1 game with shoes was $20. I'd go more if there was a coupon or Groupon situation. Bring cash for the arcade. Most games are 4 quarters. All in all a very nice place.

HORRIBLE experience. Took my 6 year old here in a Sunday afternoon and was treated like I was an inconvenience to the staff. I explained it was out first time there and the woman behind the counter was too busy eating her sandwich to talk and tell me where kids weight balls are. Nor did she help with the rails for kids. Had to get a fellow customer to show me. The lane kept breaking and not returning balls... The balls were in terrible shape too. Then went to the bathroom and it was the most disgusting bathroom I have ever been in. It was worse than a dive bar bathroom. A stench of raw sewage was so bad my son gagged. When I told the staff... They didn't seem to care one bit. Will NEVER come back again. It's 1 mile from my place and I'll drive to north Raleigh next time.

I am very disappointed and will not return. Upon entering today with our out of town grandson, armed with a family pass that I had just purchased online, we were greeted with, “How many are bowling today?” To which I said, “four” with our family pass. We were then told the family pass was not going to be honored today because they had big groups. My big challenge to that was that they were willing to take our money and give us a lane but not honor the family pass. Poor customer service. Customer service fail! Writing this from AMF where the service where we will return.

A lot of fun, but if you go in the evening, prepare for disco lighting and pop music videos. The prices on their web site are a little bit outdated, but not too far off the mark.

I love getting kicked out 10 minutes before the place closes. No warning or anything, they just killed the game. Love it!!

THEY DON'T SERVE BEER! What kind of bowling establishment doesn't serve beer?! Also, the scoring machines were faulty.

Went there today for a kids birthday party, which was fine. The problem came when a couple parents wanted to bowl. You have to pre pay, which is a little odd but ok, I also asked about league bowler discounts as two of us bowl in another house and was told no. We all paid for 2 games. We only bowled one because the party was moving to the back room for cake. This is when the front desk guy told us that there are no refunds and we should just bowl or leave...I asked him several time where this policy was and why we were not informed about it. He stated that I should have asked.....so I asked for the manager, which he gave me a snide remark about not being able to read. I called the manager and left her a message. Then I returned to the party, two more parents were talking about the same issue and the counter persons(Jason) attitude. That is when the girl running the party told us that Jason was quitting and it was his last day. The sad part about it is the damage was done, 7 parents that were at the party stated that they would not come back just due to the rude service and the fact that the only interest was money, not customer service.

Pricing for games was good, we went on a Monday night for their Quartermania ($0.25 games after $5 cover and ~$3 shoe rental). Guy working the desk had the personality of a wet mop. VERY STRICT no outside food or drinks policy (wouldn't let us bring in some leftover cookie cake for our company's anniversary which we were there to celebrate), as a way to force you to buy terrible food from the concession stand. Over priced pizza took forever and was not done all the way and tasted terrible. I understand their policy, but was looking for a little bit of bend in the name of customer service, we *were* bringing business there for 10 people. Would go again, but would definitely eat beforehand and hope I don't get thirsty for the pitcher of soda that was $6.50.

Brought friends for the black light bowling. It is midnight and 82 degrees inside here. There were music videos, but no dj. No acknowledgement from the staff about the lack of a/c even when asked directly. Kinda disappointed.

Dipika Mouli

It's a bowling alley out of the late 90s, but so are the prices, so it's worth it if you're just dying to get your bowl on.

Good place for bowling. They could use some new balls and new shoes. My fingers are large and their largest/heaviest balls dont have holes large enough. Their fries and nachos were good. Lemonade too. Kids like their arcade games.

Bowling and arcade games. Pretty standard bar type food. The staff were very helpful with bumpers, stuck balls, and cleaning up spills. The arcade games are pretty expensive and the ticket redeemers prizes are on the low side.
