Checked their website and showed up at 11:00 am with my family to bowl to discover that their hours had changed without any previous notices. We were just there 4 days earlier and their hours were different. A heads up of the change and a more accurate website would have been nice.

This place is unorganized and ridiculous. We come in. Join a 30 minute line, only to be put on a waiting list for another 30 minutes. This place isn't worth the hour wait just to bowl. There's no show, no magic, or anything else that would warrant an hour wait. Its JUST bowling. Why is the line 30 minutes? There's two staff members running the lines and neither of them work with a LITTLE urgency. The manager of this place should have a better understanding of how this business is running and TRY to create improvements. At any other place, we would have finished bowling in the time it takes to just get a lane here and that's pretty SAD. To improve the experience for next time the guy says to make a reservation. There are people that reserved and the line is still this long. BECAUSE THE RESERVATION PEOPLE ARE MIXED IN WITH LAST MINUTE PEOPLE. WHY???? WHATS THE POINT? Right now half of the lanes are UNUSED AND EMPTY because people that are supposed to use them are still in the line. How stupid does this look??? Do better. 0 stars, but Google is nicer than that and wont let me. Expect to wait 40 minutes just to check out of this place once you're done bowling. Instead of paying for lanes BEFORE you bowl, you have to do it after...TRASH. Also, have someone inspect the bar. I've seen more nats in that area than near a trash can.

Bowling is great and atmosphere too for both kids and adults. And the food is superb! Ronnie in the kitchen takes great pride in his work and goes way beyond to provide exceptional personal service! I had two children's birthday parties and everyone raved, kids and adults alike! Liliana hosted both parties and was amazing!

My son came to visit from South Carolina and we usually go bowling at this bowling alley order two sodas they clearly have a sign that says if you do not receive a receipt you will receive $5 off of you're next bowling purchase well the young man working behind the counter did not giving me a receipt and starting helping the next customer so I brought it to his attention that I did not receive my receipt can I get my $5 discount that's when he proceeded to grab the receipt and tried to hand it to me and said sure sir you received your receipt well obviously I did not receive a receipt before he started helping another customer so I brought it to a manager's attention thought it would be no problem to get my $5 discount well they actually went back and looked at video that obviously had no sound and said sorry sir he clearly handed you a receipt you just refuse to take it very poor managing skills I just wanted them to honor something they had posted spent $80 in there tonight and I will not be going back the next time I son comes to visit we will go to a different bowling alley even if it is an inconvenience for us

This place has really upgraded since I was there a couple years ago !! We had such a blast one rainy afternoon and I would definitely recommend taking they family !! However I will say for 4 people to bowl 1 game it cost is $40 and that did include show rental. In my opinion that is very expensive but the memory from that rainy afternoon was well worth it.

This place and the staff are amazing!! I had my son's 10th birthday party there this Saturday at 2pm. The place was slammed packed but the event staff made us feel like we were the only people there!! There were 4 other parties going on at the same time and none of the staff lost their cool!! Extremely attentive to every detail. The arcade is great and the boys loved it!! The only down fall was that online it shows the menu has vegetarian options and it doesn't. On the up side my son doesn't like cake so the staff supplied an ice cream bar with a TON of toppings!! Awesome

Nice staff but a little slow when it was to leave. I had to put a credit card on file to bowl and that's fine but more training is needed if customers want to pay with cash. I'm only hoping that did take my cash and charge my card to. Thank goodness we have online back these days.... overall I had a good time. Well maintained and clean Inside and out. Let's see a 25 person line waiting at the counter. A10 person line at the snack bar. No bartender at the bar. Understaffed and also losing a lot of revenue. Total of 3 people working. Come on get with it .

Poor experience. Food line was too long, only had one register for food on a Saturday night. Really? 1 person taking food orders in a giant bowling alley for all those people? Also, what is the point of having a bar in the event/party section if I cannot order a drink there and I cannot order food there? That bar is useless then. Waste of time trying to get food. Sat in line for about 15-20 minutes and the same guest where still having their orders taken. Poor management, under staffed, not pleasant. What killed it for me though, was that our party had a lane, Lane 43. The lane was not working properly. On my friends 3rd or 4th turn, only 6 pins were set up for his first bowl. We tried to manually reset them and it actually took a pin away and only gave him 5 pins. I then asked if we could get it fixed, and waiting around 15-20 minutes and it was not fixed. Now, this wasn't a combined 15-20 minute wait, it was during the same time I was waiting in line for food. So I complained to try and get our lane fixed and then went to wait in the food line figuring I could get some food while waiting. I was obviously wrong. After talking with Management about the lane, they confirmed that they have had several issues with that specific lane in the past. If you had issues with that lane, why not close it down until it is fully repaired and not let anyone use it? Very, VERY understaffed. Also, trying to get a refund via corporate now as we were not pleased since we made this reservation in advance. The assistant manager was supposed to text me the information I needed, as he promised he would. But never did. Darryl was his name I believe. Not a fun experience. Will not be coming back. Hire staff, get more registers for food and the bar in the event side. Also, Utilize the bar in the event side! It is there why not use it?!?

I give this establishment one star because of the inefficiencies that exist. The center is solely catering to the non-league bowler and has totally disregarding the upkeep of the machines. It's a total disgrace and lack of caring for the league bowler who provided guaranteed income on a yearly basis.

Nice place for fun. Bowling, arcade, etc. Need to have more than 1 person at the desk. I was there Saturday afternoon and then Tuesday evening (leagues). Too busy at the desk and I takes forever to get through. In the other hand the Pro shop tech was great. Set me up with new equipment and was very knowledgeable.

Great place for Adults and Kids!!! AMF lanes is a fun time for all. They have ample lanes up front and a night bowling experience in the back with black lights and music. They also have an on site bar with adult beverages and a snack bar with pizza wings and even soft pretzels!!! At the main entrance is a nice sized arcade area for the kids that dont want to bowl or just want a break from all the bowling action. All in all a great time for any age group.

I've been on the Tuesday night league at this alley for the past 8 months. This alley is as close to average for a bowling alley as you can get. Pros: the staff definitely seem to be above average for the service industry. I can't recall anyone working here that seems to dislike their job. Also when the alley isn't busy they are great about letting you pick where you bowl if you want to. Cons: Food is BAD. There's a lot of bowling alleys out there that actually have really good food - this one isn't one of those. Also the beer selection behind the bar could be better. Fixing the climate in the back (especially when it is busy would be good) - I've been in the back before practicing and had it be 80 degrees while I'm bowling. Also the lanes in the back get sticky when it's very humid.

Service is terrible, lanes sometimes shut down for no reason, lanes break all the time, workers have no clue what’s going on, and much more. Today, I went to go bowling, drove the 15 minutes, and when I got to the bowling alley, the lanes were not working! They wouldn’t let us bowl! There was no notification on their webpage or anything. Please, for all of our sakes, FIX YOUR BOWLING ALLEY! They spent money on chandeliers instead of better workers, ITS A BOWING ALLEY!

Awesome place, come here often with my friends for our “Saturdays are for the boys” hangouts. It’s first come first serve, you put your name on a list, and then they text you when a lane is ready for you. It’s about a 2 hour wait on Saturdays so that gives you plenty of time to go grab a bite or do a little shopping while you wait. Bowling here on a budget is really easy, 3 games & rental shoes will cost you $25 and some change(this is after it’s taxed). I can’t speak for professional bowlers and how they would rate the place, but if you just want to screw around and have fun with your friends, this is the place to go.

Sunday Funday is a pretty good deal. Older spot but kept clean. Shoe rental is a little high at $5 per pair but all in all you can bowl 3 games with shoe rental for two people on Sunday for a little less than $30.

It is expensive. Wanted to bowl with family and young kids, but they would not rent a lane by the hour on a Saturday evening even though my daughter called in advance and thought she was told that you could rent a lane. With shoe rental and per game price had to spend nearly 80.00!!! 3 kids 3, 5, and 8 with 4 adults. One game my friends, could not believe it. Kids also had to rent shoes, would not allow just socks. Would have been over 100.00 for a second game. Takes the fun out of it...

We did not have a good experience here. When we arrived, they put us on the waitlist but could not tell us how many people were in front of us or how long the wait would be. We waited almost 2 hours while many lanes sat empty and unused and only got a lane after speaking with a manager. It took an average of 15 to 20 minutes to get service at the bar. Would not recommend.

Have been bowling here weekly for the past 32 weeks and the lanes are always breaking down and delaying the game. They have been doing some renovations so hopefully they fix whatever is causing the problems. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is good.

I have been going to this bowling alley for years and let me first start by saying that it needs work. The hours are ridiculous one day 9 am-11pm then the next day 3pm-12am. Then the changes at the center are nice but it does not matter if your staff does not know how to do the job. Also it’s crazy expensive now $5 a game is overkill if you ask me. I come home from college and I can’t use any discounts because I’m not in a league. My moms league also does not start yet. I have bought the summer pass which is nice but only three games I get. I also don’t like how the pro-shop is all in the back now also run by some kid who has no idea what he is doing. Food is overpriced. The staff asked me if I needed shoes and I think that’s rude when you see me holding my own shoes for bowling. I get it open bowling is great but take the time to consider your league and tournament bowlers.

UPDATE 5/10/19. Spoke with Katie, Event Sales Manager. What a breathe of fresh air. She has done everything within her power to make this right. Thank you Katie!***** Horrible option for a kids birthday party. What's sad is it could be so awesome. The list of problems is just too much to type, and it wasn't just our party it was all of them. Examples include pizza over an hour late served at about 400 degrees. Took another 20 minutes before kids could eat it.. by now the two-hour party should be about over.. We never received the 18 arcade cards we paid for.. Had to pay cash for my kids. DMV level of service. We received a nice itinerary and paid in full upfront. Few other examples - walk in and there is nobody to help us. Had to help ourselves to bowling shoes for our party. Had to ask for lemonade, water, and cups or we would have never received any of this. Had to ask for the tables to be set up and ask for table cloths. Had to ask for pizza 4 times. Had to ask for napkins and utensils. Had to ask twice to get our lanes turned on. Had to load every kid without help. No point person. All of these requests had to be asked multiple times. Also had to wait to sing happy birthday for 30 minutes while I'm trying to unsuccessfully track down staff to help us, delaying all of the guests who want to get home on schedule. I also got there 30 minutes early. The corporate folks do a great job selling, this place just can't back it up. Will let AMEX handle the rest. $420 for about $10 worth of service for having the lanes.

They've remodeled since the last time I was there in 2015 and the pool tables are gone now...that was disappointing. Other than that it is brighter clean and well staffed. There's a bar In the middle of the place which gives it a different feel from a lot of bowling alleys. Friendly but busy staff at peak times.

This was probably the WORST customer service I have EVERY dealt with. Matthew the employee was very rude rolling his eyes, just looked like he was very annoyed with us trying to get lanes together and a lot of the team lack personality. It sucks when you spend over $200 to have a good time with your family to be treated so poorly! The only reason I gave them 1 star was because I had to to write the review and because the employees at the bar was great and the pizza was good. Outside of that I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS AMF TO ANYBODY. Even if they don't like they job they could at least pretend. Luckily me and my family tried to make the best of it.

We purchased the birthday party package. The lanes did have some technical problems but the management did take care of it quickly. The food was good and the package included a actual bowling pin for the birthday person which everyone could sign, which was pretty cool. Highly reccomend.

I would highly recommend this place for a moment of fun to anyone! It is kid and family friendly environment. It cost a little more than average, but you have the opportunity to play as many games as you like! This is by far the biggest, coolest, cleanest bowling alley I have ever been to! The bowling lanes itself was definitely different and better than any other bowling alley that I've been too. It made the games more challenging and fun. The food there was also amazing! They have recently been remodeled. They have new floors and decor and the land software has been updated. However the lanes havent. They are good solid lanes but they don't have motorized bumpers, so they are up or down for everyone. They only can take a long time to return the balls (like minutes on lane 40) They have a set of lanes in the back wjth UV lights and stuff. It's cool for the kids. Overall it's nice but the lack of motor bumpers is a real pain when you're there with adults and children.

We are from Columbus Ohio went to Amf lanes in Matthews North Carolina in hopes for our kids to have fun but instead our card was riddled with transactions that was not authorized for amounts that we wasn't charged and when we confronted the management she said it wasn't them but mysteriously one of the bogus transactions was refunded after she so called talked to the credit card people we still have two transactions that doesn't match the amount on any of our receipts long story short me our my family will be revisiting this place again the employees are taking money from the customers and management is covering it up

This place is a piece of work. Been bowling on a league here for 5 plus years and it has been going downhill in service severely every year. Good luck getting a drink because they understaff their bar to the point you could bowl a whole game without ever getting one beer. And to top it off we know who they prioritize 1 and a half hour wait for food on league night because they are catering towards a large party. It is not like your league bowlers aren't here every week supporting your business but nope you care more about you one time payday so guess what you will now start to lose you most consistent source of revenue because we truly know who matters to you. Oh and to add to it if you drink craft they only have Sam Adam's seasonal and half the time they let that keg go bad so enjoy paying 8 bucks for stale beer. Definitely quitting my league this year and never coming back I am also imploring all my fellow league bowlers to do the same hopefully this will open some eyes at this poorly run establishment.

We were staying in town for the weekend and looking to kill some time because my daughter's soccer tournament was canceled due to weather. We are unfamiliar with this particular bowling alley, so we got in the line that already had other people in it, assuming this was where we would get our shoes and lane assignment. After being ignored for 5 minutes, an employee told us we were in the wrong line. So, we lined up behind a couple on the other end of the counter. All four employees behind the counter so spent the better part of 10 minutes helping these two, while we waited. Another couple walks up and are allowed to cut line in front of us to reserve a lane. When we finally get someone to wait on us, we were informed that all the lanes were reserved. There are approximately 40 lanes in the front portion of the building, and more in the back. There were 3 of those 40 lanes in use, with over half of the remaining lanes blocked off for maintenance for the next few hours (the maintenance should be preformed at a time that is a little less busy than Saturday evening). We were told that all the lanes were reserved for league play and wouldn't be available for quite some time. This is all at 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Seventeen empty lanes, with no one waiting and we weren't allowed to use them. We waited for about half an hour. League play hadn't started and the lanes were still empty. In that half hour, three of us ordered drinks. You'd think for $4.00, a Pepsi would a least have a little taste and wouldn't be flat. AMF Carolina Lanes was a huge disappointment.

The workers scammed us at the front desk about their deals of getting "two free games" , as well as laughed and mocked me and my children in front of our faces. The worker Brain didnt provide his last name when I asked for his full name. Would most definetly not come back or recommend!!

Their concession service is great! Instead of having to wait for your food they bring it to you!!!! They have a blackout area in the back. We paid $20, that included shoes and unlimited bowling! The only downfall was this was a family event and my daughter couldn't bowl because she didn't have socks. The organizer of the event was told that they had socks to purchase there. However, they were sold out. That was disappointing.

Seems like this house or AMF is more about open bowling and family fun and not about their leagues. Lanes breakdown, pins drop on the same pairs of lanes. They are currently remodeling the place enlarging the game room. Removing lights and fans. ( Hope they replace both) I also wish they would put that money into repairing the lane issues. All of the people that work there are very friendly.

We went for my boys birthday, his choice. I don't think I've been here sense I was in high school. To be honest, I don't remember the times being here so this was pretty much a new experience for me. We had a blast. We drank a ton, bowled a couple, & shared a bunch of laughs. The only reason they lost a star was they children. I mean I guess that isn't their fault, but gosh, these little, well they were above annoying! They place might want to consider a separate pay area for families & one for single adults. Just a recommendation of course because everything was fun other wise.

It was very chaotic to check in and out but the staff was nice and it is nice to play on the arcade games while waiting for a lane to open up. Didnt like that they text or call you on the phone bc they seem to not have signal to perform this.

We were so excited to hang out with our great friends.. We have not been there since change of ownership.. It looks like they painted a few things. It started when we checked in.. The line was long one person being the counter was working his tail off..s couple managers were hanging out and doing nothing. We finally where able to check in and get shoes.. We were sent to our lanes and everybody got set up and the bar near us was closed and they just pointed toward the bar on the other side of the building. I walked to the other side of the building to get us a drink, one bartender and I waited for a while.. No one seemed to be helping the one bartender .. I left.. the night got no better. We tried to check out and everyone was sent through the check out line.. Two mangers were doing closing paper work... This place is a joke..

Second time my family has bowled there, both times the electronic score keep records pins when a gutter ball is throw. Lane kept jamming, after every strike you had to throw a ball down the empty lane to get it to reset. At $89 for two games with five people the lane really should work correctly. We even had the block drop while we were bowling and the ball just slammed into it. I don’t understand how any leagues could play here as the scoring is so messed up. We thought it was just the lane we were on the first visit but after the second time different lane still a issue. I watched this on other lanes as well. I brought it to the desks attention and was told it was working fine yesterday. We will never go there again I feel ripped off.

Too expensive for a simple game of bowling $6 something a game? no thanks. And I have to agree with others on the bar/food staff and prices. Wait 10 minutes for someone to get your drink then they have to ring it up elsewhere (another 5 minutes), while all your family waits. Oh and a small fountain drink is $3.99? yeah, no thanks again. Looking elsewhere from now on.

We just had a birthday there for our 12 year old son and I was more than pleased with everything and everyone involved. Cle, the general manager was more than helpful and on top of everything! I would definitely recommend anyone having a birthday to do it here. You will not find any place to offer what this place has to offer and the price is unbeatable! Wish I known about it earlier! Was looking for something fun for a family group event on a Saturday evening. Tried to call to reserve a lane. You press "2" to do that. When you press 2 you get hung up on. After trying that 3 times, I pressed "9" to speak with the front desk. So far the phone has been ringing for 9 minutes and 30 seconds. It is ringing as I type this review. They offer online lane reservations "for my convenience". That asks you a bunch of questions about your event, as if you are planning some major event in the future. That would be "event planning" not "reserve a lane". the last option is email an event specialist. Look, I just want to know if we can come tonight and bowl. I should probably be thankful that there is no way to contact them about tonight. I can only imagine from this experience, and from other reviews, that an evening there would be full of frustration and disappointment. Businesses have been run successfully for hundreds of years, if you can't even get the basics right, like communicating with potential patrons, then don't run a business. It is not your forte. Phone has been ringing now for 13 minutes and 18 seconds and counting. Yeah, this is a company we should all want to do business with. Just fail already, so someone with some business acumen and experience can take over. 14 minutes and 29 seconds..... I am out....
