Loved it. I'd say it was worth the money for the amount of time you're given on the lane. Changing into bowling shoes is a must though and that costs extra.

Didn't care for the customer service and the prices but we got the lane we wanted and we had a great time. Music is low and repetetive. Food had affordable prices even though we chose not to eat there. Update: I keep coming back to this place only because somehow they still have the most affordable rates among their competitors. Their customer service still sucks and they are still cash only. Once you get settled in, you will have a great time but that's no thanks to the awful front desk staff. They are rude even on the phone. Try not to call and ask any questions. Go early to avoid the crowds. 10 minute drive from the Sheepshead movie theater. No parking on site. Try parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Typical old fashioned bowling alley. $26 for 2 games plus shoe rentals for 2 ppl on Saturday afternoon.. Cafe was closed had to spend money in the vending machine on snacks. $2 for 1 sock!

The young dude is an a hole incredibly rude to costumers. I wouldn't give them even 1 * . They need to change front desk guy for sure . Otherwise no one will come back to this place cause of attitude and service. Also When we came to play bowling the guy told us wait like an hour and an hour after I go back and ask him to give a line to play , he let people go front of us and I asked him why you doing like that we're waiting for line an hour, dude basically told us get out of the place . So it's he is business when we want a line. This is ridiculous and unbelievable ? That time our biggest waist time ever. So I'm very upset from.

Cash only both bar and paying for games. There is an ATM on site. When I went it was kindof crowded as there was league play going on. They only had bumpers for the kids on one side of the building but provided a ramp for kids to push the ball down. Not the best or the biggest alley I've been to but its decent.

Nice bowling alley. No loud music and didnt stink from cigarettes. It was extremely busy but we were able to get a lane right away. The shoes werent stinky and old. In fact some of us got new shoes. The staff was a little hasty and not super friendly...i am hoping it was because it was a busy night and they were overwhelmed.

This bowling place is a bit outdated. They only accept cash for payment There is an ATM inside [$2 fee]. You must rent shoes & when u do you have to leave 1 of your own shoes in exchange. Shoes are dirty so plz wear socks. There are many Specials for the entire week. There are no fancy tv screens or dance music like in other bowling places. There are lockers on top floor and they do sell food. Didn't need to use them and didn't eat here so can't tell you about pricing. There are snack & drink vending machines on 1st floor (Snapple $2). A few arcade machines and men at counter very nice and helpful. They do have digital score boards. Spent $34 on 1 game 2 adults & 2 kids. 1 block from F train.

Best way to upset your child is to take them to shell lanes. Came in on a Thursday evening, place was empty, not a single person playing. We asked to play two games, but were unable to play due to a league that was starting in unknown amount of time in an empty place. Outdated place with an outdated website. The website has no current or future information about events.

This is one of the oldest bowling allies in Brooklyn. This venue is nice because of the location. Top floor they have a couple of arcade games. They have bowling specials on Saturday after 10pm $20 buts you 2 hours of bowling for one lane.

Shell Lanes is a really fun place to bowl. It was fair and cheap too. There were no problems with staff behavior either. But, the water is more than a dollar, so I suggest you bring water.

Since I am a big fan of bowling I was looking for a new place to try out and came across Shell Lanes. I was so happy when I walked inside as the place was not too crowded and the staff was super friendly. It was also reasonably priced and the lanes were clean. I cant wait to take my friends here for a comfortable night of bowling along with great food!

After reading all the negative comments and reviews about this place i was unsure if i wanted to bowl there. But after i decide to give that place a shot i realize that it wasn't bad at all. The price there are quite cheap, they even have specials all the time. The employee there were really nice but just a bit slow... they came to help me out when i ask for it and their help was always satisfying. They even offered me the weekend specials when i didn't even know there was any and I gladly accepted the offer. The place is also pretty clean compare to most places. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a non-expensive and enjoyable time place for bowling, and also i would recommend you to go there before 10am if you can wake up early, this way you wont have to wait until there is another available lane. If you hate waking up early then i recommend you to go before 3 30pm, this way when other leaves for what ever reason such as late lunch, you would be able to get a lane. Also i would suggest you to bring your own bowling ball if you cant lift a 10lb easily because there aren't many 9lbs and under with M,L,or XL size.

Great spot , with a vintage feel. always good vibes. Depending on the day you go, it can get super busy and the wait can be a little long. Food could be better. But overall, if you want bowl with a group of friends and have a few drinks, this is a cool place to do it.

Super nice guy in the pro shop. His name is Alan. Highly recommend to purchase or drill finger hoes at that place. It only takes about less than 10mins. Also he gave me some great advice for bowling!

Often gets very crowded. Avoid going during league nights. This is one of the very few bowling alleys left in Brooklyn. Lanes are old and you will get occasion issues..like a gutter ball coming back to life or a pin reset with only 9 pins. They have specials on select timing throughout the week. It's a good deal but make sure to arrive early.

The worst customer service ever. I came with my family and the moment we entered, the staff at the front was being very rude. They said that they have a special where we can play for 1 hour as much games as we can. We played 1 game for 20 min and when we tried to play another game, they shut down the lights at our lane. As I approach the staff in the front, she said that we were done. She did say that we can play for 1 hour but it was a lie. We basically payed $50 for just 1 game. What a rip off. Never seen such bad service where all they do is lie and be rude.

Awesome, old fashion bowling alley. The place is very clean and a bit dated. Prices are great and there's always a special, just call ahead to find out what's going on that day. THEY ARE ALSO A CASH ONLY PLACE. Shoe rentals are $4, which is a great price. Upstairs there is a small cafe that sells food and drinks. We tried the chicken wings and fries, tasted delicious! There are also a few arcade games upstairs along with the restrooms. Party room is available as well. My family had a great time here and we will be back all summer long.

BOWLER BEWARE Paid 10$ for an extra player by accident but the guy at the counter would only give me credit not a refund and only for the game not for the shoes which were 4$. Here on a Saturday night and 70% of lanes aren't being used. Guy at the desk is being rude to everyone that speaks to him and continues to bark that the more people that ask him how long the wait is, the longer it will be. All while all these lanes are empty. Bad business and HORRIBLE customer service.

The worst place ever! Came there with my daughter and husband. My baby was dreaming about bowling, so we took 3 games and we were having fun. My husband wanted to buy glass of beer, but bar was closed, someone told him that he can bring from outside, what he did. After that the one of the staff came to me personally, she was very rude and told ME, that we can't drink alcohol from outside....if so, she had to say that to my husband, not to me!!!! Or put the restricted signs all around. The staff was unfriendly in there, rude and nasty. She was sure he bought some more beer and that, very disgusting person closed out our line, when we were playing only the second game!!! I didn't want to have conflict cus our daughter was with us, they tried to apologize to me as I didn't have beer AT ALL AND anyway they didn't open our line so I asked them to give me back my money for the 3rd game, they didn't make any refunds to me!!!! The worst place ever, the worst service I ever had! Staff has to be trained and have qualifying customer service skills! These people are doomed ignoramus!!!!!!!! If I'd only could, I would put minus 5 stars

Have never had one good experience here. Their website does not specify when there are league nights, but based on my experience every night is league night. In fact, their website has not been updated since September. Staff is extremely rude and seem happy to kick paying customers out, even though there are no warnings of when league night is. Save your money and go to a bowling alley that actually cares about its customers.
