You might feel intimidated for a few but after a few drinks you'll realize that everyone their is just trying to have a great night and are a little skeptical with newbies. From prior experiences. If your looking to have a good time or need to escape and have a drink alone or with a group this is that go to bar. Familiar faces all the time . Mix of ages and ethnicity! Which is awesome. Thursday's Lady's Night N Karaoke are my kind of nights from my fav songs like Old time rock N roll down to My girl Missy Elliot to go to I will survive . Everytime I go here it's a Great Time.

This place hasn't changed much in 25 years. Still comfortable place with good service. Good food, chili is great. Ample parking. Still has the old lanes. My friends band played here today. Ha no motorcycles after 11PM. Discimination.

The drinks are good on the bartender that you go to on Friday night the one with the glasses and long hair is so rude, the other bartender that works with the tattoos is very nice so if you go there go to the girls with the tattoos but on the on the weekdays at night that guy with the gray hair and the glasses seems like that guys always on drugs I can see his jaw swinging and he's nasty smelling guy always smells like cat piss he is so unsanitary the guys disgusting if he spills a drink on the counter he puts his finger in his mouth and starts tasting it so disgusting don't get served by him he's nasty 2 the customers and you can tell he's drunk all the time and it seems like if you're not a regular he doesn't care all he cares about is the tips customer service this is horrible when that gray hair guy with the glasses this working

Just plain great! We visited the area after watching this bar on restaurant impossible and we were very impressed! Just outside of Newark NJ this gem is perfect if you’re looking for a drink with locals, great music, delicious food options, bowling or to make new friends. “Ed” was great and just the same as he came across on the show, a gentleman and treated us like family. We were visiting from New Hampshire and he went above and beyond to make us feel like family. I had the chicken wings and the chili. The chili was great but the wings were phenomenal! My girlfriend had the Tina Fries and she loved them. The portion sizes are huge and the bartenders are very friendly. We will be back again next time we visit the tri state area! Thank you Ed for spending time with us and sharing the history of Paul’s with us. Wishing you all the best, always!

I didn't care for it much. Unless your a regular..... All due honesty It kind of sucks Drinks are on the high end $ people get really loud and it's too crowded on some nights, no place to sit. Bar maid not friendly, the bathroom stinks. I honestly can't find one thing positive to say. I've been here enough times to give a consistent review. This is a honest review, the other 5 star reviews are from the regulars who been going there for years and I guess if it's all you know it's 5

Great live music venue. The management clearly treats musicians with respect and the result is fantastic energy from everyone involved. Interesting that the bands play earlier than most venues. The fact that they have old fashioned bowling alleys is cool. And the food is very good. Unique place. Check it out for sure.

Cool bar, I go there occasionally to watch games. If you drink mixed drinks, prices are on the high end. Wings are very good. Bar tenders can be slow. Now, from a person that has been going to bars for years I will give you the layout. It has a very diverse crowd - black, white, Hispanic and even some middle eastern people frequent this place. It gets really crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. It also gets extremely loud and hot. Patrons also get really drunk. For anyone who has been around these are red flags and you are bound to see a fight from time to time. Add to the equation this place has a pool table (another red flag) and the crowd is not very sophisticated (for the most part, I have seen a couple of professional level people but most are blue collar). If you are a male and cannot take care of yourself around potentially aggressive people, stay clear. It is a local bar where a lot of the people know each other. Otherwise, the bar plays really good music and a good place to visit from time to time or become a regular.
