I think this rating would make more sense as 3.5 out of 5 stars. The reason for this is because, if what you're expecting is fairly standard New Mexican food, that's what you're gonna get. What prevents me from giving this o.g. a higher rating is that, from my experience, Sadie's doesn't really have a signature dish that is heads or tails above anything you might find at any other local food establishment. I guess you could say their chips and salsa are their signature dish, but the salsa isn't great enough to warrant that. The atmosphere and everything else is fine, and the wait staff is always decent the times I've been there. If a bigger Sadie's fan can point me to something on the menu that is good enough to add a star or two to my review, I will certainly change it.

Sadies is a very good restaurant to dine in at. The food is fresh and hot. Staff are very friendly and always smiling. Sometimes when dining in here it may be a long wait depending what time you come. Dinner times are very busy so I'd suggest going earlier. Even reservations would suffice.

n town to speak at a conference and the front desk person who checked me in said this is the go to place where they send our of town visitors. He was right! Free chips and salsa brought to the table were yummy, especially the salsa which was just the right balance of heat and flavor. I ordered shredded chicken taquitos and guacamole and it was all delicious. Lots of locals, always a good sign, and the strolling musicians added to the festive atmosphere. Reasonably priced as well.

My actual score is a 3.5, but I'll be nice and round up. Food was excellent all the way around. Waitress was nice, but a little scatter brained as one of us had requested no ice in tea, but got ice, and then I asked for no beans in my dish and got beans anyway (and there was no reference of no beans on receipt, so I know for a fact that it was the waitresses screw up). Also, I didn't get chile sauce on my dish either. Not too big of a deal, I ate the beans anyway, and they delivered chile sauce on the side. The 3.5 stars is strictly for the food quality and the fact that the waitress was very pleasant, despite the errors. The major turnoff thankfully came a bit later after I'd already eaten. My wife informed me that one of the workers was using the restroom while she was in there, and she could see her apron on the restroom floor. That apron is the only reason my wife even knew it was a worker. She also noted that there were food stains on the apron, so, whoever it was had contact with food. I work in food myself, and it's a big no-no to even take our apron/hat into the restroom, let alone throw it on something as nasty as the restroom floor. I highly advise reminding your staff of the importance of proper hygiene, ESPECIALLY in the restroom. I would have let your manager know right then if I'd known, but unfortunately, I wasn't informed of this until a few hours later. I regret that my wife didn't tell me immediately, but I'm guessing she didn't want to ruin my meal or the rest of our party's meal. In case you're wondering, the date of our visit was 10-16-2019, and it was sometime in the range of 1-2 PM. Thank you in advance for addressing this matter.

We went to Sadie’s with friends who live in Albuquerque and had eaten here quite often. We are from Oklahoma so our Mexican food is way different then New Mexico’s. We ordered the #1 lunch special. It says small, but it’s a lot of food. (we had leftovers to take with us) This comes with a green chili sauce, but our friends told us we might want to get the sauce on the side. Boy, I’m glad we did! It is HOT but it’s good! Their chips and salsa were good but the salsa is also HOT! The staff was good and friendly. The restrooms were clean. It was a wonderful place to eat. I’m sure the next time we are in Albuquerque we will eat here again.

We went to sit, and waitress sat us at a dirty table with chips on the chairs. We moved to a cleaner table, opened the menu to find salsa smeared all over it. I noticed girl at the front coming in just leaning up against the wall. She could be cleaning menus. Food was good, chicken in the enchiladas was dry and tasteless. Floors are dirty, should replace carpet with tile or pergo. Good but not exceptional. Wr are out of towners, not good first impression.

A New Mexican institution!!! If you haven't eaten here then you haven't had true New Mexican food. Food like your Abuelita used to make! I have NEVER had a meal here that I didn't absolutely love! Very tasty Mexican food. What the mariachi band lacked in musicality, they made up in enthusiasm. Waitress was very attentive, despite their being almost entirely full of diners. Of note: the portions are huge. I'm a big guy with a bigger appetite. The large Nachos and a salad with steak on top left me with a doggy bag with more than enough for next day's lunch. Nachos had fresh jalapenos and real aged cheddar cheese with big scoop of sour cream and of guacamole. Wife needed to help me finish sopailla sundae-I'm sticking with strawberry.

My brother, sister in law and myself went to Sadie's during the balloon fiesta, expecting to get great food. the whole experience was horrible !! We order a large guacamole, we were charged for 2, then the salsa was so salty, we couldn't eat it ! My sister in law ordered the chalupa dinner, which was 1 brisket and i chicken chalupa, the meat was very dry, I sat across the table from her and could see that it was to dry to even eat !! I called the restaurant, was told i would be refunded for the whole meal, but was only refunded for the 2 large guacamole ! Very disappointed in the food and the service, Will never go there again !!!

After 14 years living here we finally made it to Sadie's. Ordered the small nachos (huge!) - they were on point. Also the medium combination plate (huge!) - very tasty. And brisket stuffed sopapilla (huge!) Christmas style and really, really good. Did I mention the portions are huge? Everything was really enjoyable. Our server and the staff were all attentive and pleasant. We left with take home boxes with enough food for a complete meal for each of us too! The outdoor seating area is a bonus as well. Definitely making this a new regular dining spot. Just wished we hadn't waited so long before trying them out. It's a must go.

The food was served faster than a lot of fast food places I've been to. I would definitely recommend this place and only wish I was able to try other items. I had the Roberto Special with Green sauce. The small order was plenty. They have higher portions.

Delicious New Mexican food with a Mariachi Band that goes table to table. They take requests and sang Happy Birthday for my cousin. It was my first time there and a great experience. They have meatless options if that is your thing. Three in our party were vegan and found the food hearty and delicious. I am a meat eater, and also enjoyed it.

I went to Sadie’s on 4th street tonight to have dinner and to watch my 49ers play, I was so excited to see all the TVs in the bar area. I had never been back to the bar. Food is always amazing. I wish I could give it 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One suggestion, get the NFL ticket and show all the NFL games on Sunday’s. You’d have that bar packed on Sunday’s. I’ve been to this place many times...but today was by far the worst experience. The food came out way to fast, and plates that should of been hot to the touch were cold. Looked as though the cook just threw whatever on the plate and tried to cover it up with a little lettuce and a lot of not melted cheese! And instead of making a new plate when we sent it back, they just reheated it in the microwave. And the manager was not let known of this upset, so No discounts was given. This isn’t good business period. My Son ordered a cheeseburger, which they charged us 1.19 for the cheese and the potato fries they say are the best! In every other place fries are given. And NOT charged, after the fact and not told to you beforehand. Needless to say prices were outrageous...we weren’t eating at dinner time, but we paid for dinner prices! We will not be going back!

If you've never eaten at Sadie's, you're seriously missing out. I've only been to the 4th Street location, so that's where this review pertains to. The food is some of the best New Mexican cuisine I've ever eaten, and I'm born and raised in New Mexico. Chips and salsa to start and hot, fluffy sopaipillas and honey to finish (or take home). I've only had a few things on the menu, but they've all been delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed but vibrant at the same time. They have a dog friendly outdoor patio and they'll even bring your furry friend a bowl of water to stay fresh. I really don't think you can go wrong with Sadie's. Give it a try!

I mean, you can't beat top shelf new Mexican food. Just don't fill up on the chips and salsa before your food comes...and you WILL fill up on them. The atmosphere is dim but not dark and there was even a lovely couple offering to play live music at my table. Classy. Come check it out if you haven't before.

I will say that in the past there have been a couple of minor issues, usually fixed quickly. However, this visit was just about flawless, and is what I usually expect from Sadie's. The food was delicious (I got the Beef Enchiladas Lunch Special), my tea was great, the chips and salsa were just right (sometimes the salsa can be too hot or mild but it was great).

First time ever giving a horrible review!!! Last night I went with my family...18 of us for a birthday. Our service was so unsatisfactory! We waited forever for our sporadic drink orders and then forever longer for her to come take out order. When she finally came the table next to us with almost equal amount of ppl were getting their food and they came at least 30 mins or more after us!!! The food was SO disappointing! Never has it been so bad. Then we were never offered sopapillas!!!! My daughter asked when she made reservations if there was a gluten free menu and she was told yes!!! And there wasn't !!!!!

I love Sadies. The staff is friendly and accomodating, and there are so many options. There are many ways to do New Mexican. They have some of the standards and their own twists. I love the Sopapilla Sliders with Chicharron and their cheese sauce. It's not on the menu.

Tremendous portions here, the "small" nacho plate is enough for 2 adults. The entree plates are ridiculously huge. Service is very good, the staff are super friendly and attentive. Even with a packed dining room we were seated fairly quickly. Complimentary chips and salsa are nice and spicy. Didn't get a chance to try one but the cactus cocktails are supposed to be really good. The tamales with green chilies are excellent.

Sadie's was awesome! The portions are incredibly generous, and the service is very attentive. Above all though, their chips and salsa are to die for. Best thing I ate on my trip to Albuquerque, and the best restaurant salsa I've ever had. I love that both the chips and the bread were included for free with lunch. This was one of the specials, and I loved it, but it was so filling! Covered in cheese and chili is no joke!

I ate every bit of it, and I usually don't eat very much. The strawberry margarita was good too. The waitress was super nice and friendly. I'd go to this place again, when I visit Albuquerque.

Tuesday night and there was a 15 minute wait for what looked like a sparsely attended dining area. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the service was really good. Our waitress did a great job and the food came out fast. My food was just not good. The green chilies were awful and tough. My daughter had a BLT sandwich she really liked, so maybe just mine. I was not a fan of the waitress coming to the table and telling me how much my bill was. I guess I'm a little more old school and like seeing a paper presentation of what I'm paying for. It was cool that she processed our cards right there and she did bring us a paper receipt. Good service, good drinks, and food I did not finish.

To start, the atmosphere is nice. However, here is the downfall of this location. I found a hair in my food. The waiter claimed he did not see it, but who can miss a black straight hair in white chicken meat. The service is slow. For example, by the time the waiter came out for me to point out the hair, my food was cold. He then asked in a rude tone, “do you want something else” I said, “yes, because I don’t want to eat hair.” It then took him over 15 minutes to bring out a new chicken taco. The waiters don’t even refill your drinks! The Sadies that is located in the NE part of Albuquerque Is way better. I will return to that one. However, this location on fourth street will not be getting my business. Until they have a more professional wait staff and their food is cooked to be top notch quality.

Any time I'm in Albuquerque I'm making sure to stop to eat here at least once. Had stopped to have dinner with some friends while I was in town and this place had the best salsa I've had, I come from San Antonio Texas, and the best Chile Relleno. The serving was huge, so many flavors and alot of spice. If you're looking for a place to eat this is a must have. I also made sure to buy 4 jars of the Green Chile and Hot salsa to bring back on the plane.

Who doesn't love Sadie's?! And I loved them even more when I called and asked if I could bring my own non-dairy cheese (I'm lactose intolerant) so I could eat their their highly praised and much coveted Nachos, and they said Yes! OMG, I was in heaven that night!

Hot salsa!! Mmm so good! The waiter was very nice and patient with our somewhat big group. Especially when we changed our minds on a menu item. It took awhile to get our margaritas but the restaurant was super busy. I'm not going to complain about stuff like that because I understand what it's like to be slammed and for guest to be understanding. Overall, great place, great food, and great staff.

Really enjoy the place. Everything is always delicious. Downside is the salsa is either spot on or too hot for greenhorns. The only real downside is the price. Just a bit expensive. At least it hasn't completely turned into a tourist trap like El Pinto.

Great food 95% of the time. We sat in the bar tonight and our waitperson was so distracted of focused on another table when we asked for drink refills she would take it to the other table first. We had to go to the bar and get our silverware and napkins to eat even after we asked the food delivery person to get us some.

The service was great as usual. However the group of individuals that were over sat for the table they shared were so loud. They were actually obnoxious. They were inconsiderate of other people sitting near.(us) My recommendation is to reserve bar area for small groups 3-4 people max and make a party of 5 or more especially a party of 10-12 sit in dinning.

their chili tastes like it has tobasco sauce in it, which is awful by the way. The chili was so hot I couldn’t even breathe on my lips. Would not recommend. Not real Chile.

Food was verry verry old and really nasty never will i order from the 4th st location no more Ive been a cook for half of my working life i know what an how chili looks tastes and smells like when your scraping it from the old chilli beens so if you had regulation that kinda stuff would not be happening

This Mexican food restaurant has been here for many years. Since the 1950's. I was seated quickly and attended to immediately. I found the menu expansive, with the food and service very good. There are multiple dining rooms both indoor and outdoor patio. They do have separate bar area that includes tables. Families, groups and individuals were being served at tables and booths. They have an excellent red salsa with their chips. They serve complimentary salsa and chips with an ordered meal. I would return again and would not hesitate to bring friends.

Big and spacious... that’s how your tummy better be! This place serves massive dishes of amazing New Mexico Mexican cuisine. Huge portions and comfortable seating. I could hardly finish my enchiladas. Don’t forget the sopapillas!!

Very good food all around, Hector, our waiter was amazing, very friendly, funny and attentive. It was a great place to come with a fairly large group of family. I'll definitely be going back! I don't drink (retired) but they had margaritas that looked good and Negro Modelo, among others, on tap, and a full bar area with TV's for sports, as well.

Terrible business! I called to place an order. I had to talk to 2 different people and repeat my order about 8 times. I picked it up, went home. They didnt give me 2 plates I ordered. I called the Manager Emily, she didnt care one bit and asked me to go back and get it. I WON'T WASTE MY MONEY OR TIME WITH SADIES EVER AGAIN! The food that we did get was soggy and cold!! GROSS

Sadie's is a gem of a restaurant. For over 50 years, they have been serving authentic New Mexican food. My tostitos were so flavorful. I ordered both the beef and chicken and I had a hard time deciding which I liked better. My husband had the enchiladas. He has a very good appetite, and he was very pleased with the portion size. Our server, Avery, was very attentive to all our needs. And please don't forget to order the Sopapillas. A delicious puff pasty. And don't forget to add honey. You can eat them with your meal, but my family likes to eat them for dessert, so we order them to come to the table after eating our dinner, so they are still warm.

The quality of food is just not the same. We brought a large party (40+) out to enjoy New Mexican food and most in the party were not satisfied with the food. One person described his chicken taco as being made with canned chicken and green Chile. I had the shredded beef taco. I had better. The one positive was our service. The woman was nice & attentive.

Good food, big portions (glad I chose "small" in what I ordered). Servers were present without smothering. There are places in Albuquerque that I prefer, but that is a preference thing, not quality. 5 star quality and service. Only one thing - honey seemed to be thinned rather than pure honey. Pure honey is better, healthier and worth a couple seconds to pour.

How can you go wrong with Sadie's. Been coming here for years and the food is always good. The staff is friendly and excellent. Portions are great and ordered a 2 item plate which I took a lot home and had 2 left overs. The serve chips and salsa and love both green and red or as it is called Christmas. If you want good authentic New Mexican food come to Sadie's.
