We just went here for the first time for Saturday night glow bowling and had a great time! We had to wait an hour for a lane but that was okay because we played pool while waiting. It was supposed to be $5 per half hour but they didn’t charge us. When we bowled it was a lot of fun, the music was nice and loud and they played a good variety of music. Everyone in the alley was having a good time, the BYOB part was great, overall we had a good experience and will definitely go back.

Playdrome is an awesome bowling alley, good staff, good specials and good scoring lanes. It and Ocean Lanes are my top 2 favorites in Ocean County and it blows Finnigans and Strike Zone right out of the water!!!!!! My only complaint is PLEASE clean up or resurface the worn out brown spots on the approach (especially on lane 1) as it seems to create a little friction when I try to slide. I have scored better on other lanes without this problem. Otherwise this bowling alley is GREAT! Kathy is awesome!! Very friendly and cordial. Every bowling alley needs employees like her!!

Went for a 5 year olds birthday party. it was great. We had access to a couple lanes with gutter bumpers. There are small party areas to celebrate and eat cake away from the alleys. Day glow and other wild colors added to the environment. The kids loved it. easy, automatic scoring for the people who actually care. There are other arcade games, small spot for food/soft drinks. Ample selection of shoes for rent, even in kids sizes.

This is a BYOB establishment. Be aware that open bowling prices are per person per game. Clean facilities and updated equipment make this a fun place to kill time on a weekend or day off.

Lanes are always to oily and never oiled properly. Lane bowls are old and chipped and haven’t been replaced in years nor has the rest of the place. For what you get the prices are also to high. Ocean lanes is still the best around here. Customer service is good tho if you get the right person

Not a bad spot to bowl. I prefer Finnigan's in Lakewood, because they have the best chicken wings, but ended up here for a birthday last weekend. Hadn't been here in a while, but it was just as I remembered. It's pretty big, lots of lanes, warehouse like ceilings. Mixed crowd, adults drinking, little kids having birthdays, not too many elder folk though, granted we were there at 10pm on a Saturday night. It's BYOB, being in recovery 6 years, it doesn't matter to me either way, but all the people I went with, this seemed to be a selling point for them.

For a gloomy Sunday afternoon it was dead. There were a few birthday parties going on. I was a guest at one of them. The bowling alley staff were very nice and did their The party room set up nicely, pizza and cake were served. I wanted fries and my boyfriend wanted a burger. He ordered and paid, then I saw they made onion rings. Not looking at the price, I ordered them. The girl ringing me up asked for nearly $8.00 for a plate of onion rings. And when I said I changed my mind, because they were too much, she gave me an attitude. I was taken aback by it and when she cancelled the order to the cook, he also gave me an attitude. He stood there trying to justify the price by saying they were beer battered and made fresh, when I already cancelled the order. My boyfriend said he would get them for me, I walked away. My boyfriend said he told the cook to keep them. I will never visit the Playdrome again, UNLESS it's for a kids party. I may even think twice about that.

Clean, well maintained alley. Friendly, helpful staff. TONS of promotions to save cash. Good selection of house balls. Busy, but usually don't have to wait for one of 24 lanes. Kids love the chicken fingers and fries (very reasonably priced). Great way to spend a few hours during the summer. BYO for a fun adult time too.

Held our son's birthday party here and all of the children had a great time. A huge value (service, fun, support, etc) for what we paid. The party room was warm and a bit uncomfortable, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The kids enjoyed the bowling and pizza. Highly recommend for 6-8 year old age group.

This is a review of my most recent visit only, because this is one that should be learned from. I called to reserve a lane for Thursday and specified the day, because I was trying to coordinate a group of cub scouts, I was told (very rudely, mind you) "it's first come, first serve only." I let my group know, and we agreed to arrive earlier in an attempt to guarantee a spot. Well, it turns out Thursday night is league night, which was not mentioned when I asked for Thursday, and they only have a few lanes available. I say I don't mind waiting, and am then told that they are waiting on another party (which is a reserved lane, on a night they told me was first come first serve). Our whole night was wasted, and probably could have been avoided if the person answering the phone had any conversational competence and would have actually listened to what I was asking and thought ahead. I want to say that usual small group experiences are 4* experiences, it's just what you'd expect from a bowling alley, and the new restaurant/snack puts out good food.

They should not ask people ( if they are by themselves) if they want 2 lanes while others are waiting.( Waiting list) They should only get one lane unless they have more than 4 people in their party. This lane is not considerate.This is not fair. Also the owners daughter gives out the wrong info to customers as far as open lanes while leagues are going on.Thanks to her I've waited over an hour to bowl.. Never going back & will tell friends to avoid these lanes

Avoid this place at all costs on the weekend! $4.5 a game..if you get to play! They set no time limit or game limit. I waited an hour, had food and a beer which it's BYOB. I figured I would play a game of pool to pass the time...the billiard room is $2 for a 30 min game PER PERSON! $6 for one game of pool, that's insultingly absurd. This place sucks! Not to mention the majority of the crowd here is that of the trashy sort.

Affordable family owned bowling alley. There are some arcade games and pool tables for some variety or to kill time while waiting for a lane. It’s BYOB so you can bring your favorite beverage and they have a snack shop that offers food. A jukebox is available so you can play your favorite music. Additionally there is a pro shop that is very helpful with choosing a ball and technique. My wife and I both were fitted for balls and really enjoyed the experience.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!! They were so rude and nasty. I called because I had more kids then planned for my son's birthday. When I called I was told about a 3rd birthday option and was told it included everything the expensive party did except for the party room and party organizer, but I would just have to set up behind the lanes and do it all myself. I arrived 30 minutes prior to the party to set everything up and was then told that the party option included only the lanes, shoes, one pizza and one pitcher per lane. I would have to provide all decorations and paper products and my son would not get the bowling pin for his friends to sign. So my options were to pay $40 extra per lane, run out to the store to buy everything within the 30 minutes or deal with it. They would not accommodate me nor discount anything for my inconvenience. After about an hour of back and forth arguing, I ended up setting everything up behind the lanes and had to fight for a plain white table cloth, paper plates and forks. They wouldn't even let us use the paper products that would be used in their party rooms. I will never go back there again!
