There were lot of lanes so we did not have to wait for your turn to come. We were a group of 5 so we got the lane asap and started with the bowling. Just a thing that the ball was getting stuck at the end if a strike is hit or a spare and we had to call for help to remove the ball, this happened thrice and we wasted our precious time. So if they can improve the glitch in the system then it would be good. Overall pretty decent option if you want to do bowling...

Worth for the money specially if you go buy for 1 hour, but if you like to extend after an hour you will not get the same lane. Service is too slow and too bad. Need to improve a lot on their service. The girl working in bar is so rude. And the place is very congested. Spacing two lane seatings side by side with less space for the whole group if you are 3 or more in a group

Good price, but needs an update. Everytime I walk in there, I'm back to 1990. Changing those huge monitors for score board will definitely make a great difference and the rug is very dirty...which = smell. But either way you can always have a great time and the staff is really friendly.

I have been going to this place for years now and it definitely needs remodeling.... the ball return, scoreboard seating etc are all outdated. There is a strange smell from carpet. Its right across the street and have lots of parking available. Some of the staff is very rude.

The worst place ever, when I went before with my kids they were playing one game for 35-40 minutes, when I went there with school pass for one game free , they were very bad behavior with attitude plus they ripped off our money, they give us 15 minutes for one game and usually I stayed around 35 minutes in same game, please don’t go to this awful place.

Very rude people. My friends and I paid for 2 games and we didn't get to finish our second game. I went and asked nicely if they can open up the lane again because we did not finish the second game, but they wouldn't let us. I didn't stand there to argue, just told them thank you very much, I'm not coming here again (I'll stick with the bowling alley in Union City), and that I will be writing them a bad review. They shrugged their shoulders, did not apologize, and let their customers leave upset. No respect! I have never seen people not care about their customers. Seems like the only thing they care about is their money.

Let me begin by saying that we love going to Hudson Lanes as a family and we go often. Yes, you could point out that the decor is dingy, dated, and threadbare but we LOVE that it has retained it's late 70s mid 80s style! It's actually the reason why we selected Hudson Lanes to have our son's 5th birthday party this past weekend. The party package seemed very reasonable, we felt like kids of all ages love bowl, and all that crazy decor made the Hudson Lanes a logical choice for our party. When I booked our time for the party I explained to the person behind the counter that I expected to have a large turnout of people of all ages and that I needed to be sure that they were able to accommodate such a large diverse group of people. I was assured that parties were "what they do and have been doing for years", and that they "have it down to a science", and I didn't need to worry. All I needed to do was contact them a week in advance and give them a headcount so they were prepared for us day of the event. I did that. I did better, I physically went to the bowling alley and had a real live conversation with the same person that booked us in the first place. I gave her a headcount of 30+ toddlers and about 10 grown-ups that would like to bowl separately in their own lanes and have beer made available. I was told "not a problem" and that all I needed to do was arrive 15 minutes before the party day of to set up and they would handle the rest. Awesome, right? Fast forward to our party day, we show 15 minutes before as do some of our guests. Everything is running smooth. Then, more guests show up, things begin to get chaotic but it's still managed and the kids begin to bowl and have a good time. It's important here to keep in mind that this is primarily a toddler party, full of needy toddlers. Toddlers want things. Toddlers want things now and not exactly when it'd convenient for everyone else. They wanted juice, they wanted fries, they wanted pizza, NOW! Not an hour from now, not 20 minutes from now, but NOW!!! and a toddler doesn't care if "I'm the only person working the counter right now" (which is an inappropriate response to someone asking for juice or food for their needy kid. Especially when you were warned that it was going to be this kind of party.) Question- Did we have a bad time at the party? Answer- No! We had a great time!! However, this situation needed to be managed better by Hudson Lanes. They were warned that a large group of needy toddlers was going to converge in their establishment 11:45 am on a Sunday morning. Why didn't they prepare? Why was only one girl running the snack counter? Why was that same girl the only person cooking and serving the snacks? Why was there only one girl running back and forth getting shoes, balls, and entering names into the computer to bowl? It was chaos! At one point myself and a friend began to dole out the snacks ourselves! They ran out of fruit punch!!! Toddler hell!!! I still love Hudson Lanes. I love that it still exists in this world of constant change and it seems to thrive! But, please, Hudson Lanes hire more help.

Bowling is a dying sport in America right now and it’s a shame to see places like this go down, so I’m happy people still bowl here in Bayonne. It is very outdated in here but big for birthday parties. Don't like the smell of urine that smacks you in the face on the way in the door. But they got 2 stars cause my kids had some fun even though we had many issues with the turn over of our pins.

Can't speak to the bowling experience because we waited on line for 40 minutes on an attendant that refused to prioritize the queue of 5-6 groups of people that were waiting to be assigned lanes. She was running around doing this and that, spraying down shoes, muttering that she was the only person working the counter and that she had a heart attack recently. Just spare yourself the headache and bowl somewhere else. I've been to Bowl Rite Lanes in Union City and my experience was far better than this one. I've never been to a business that was run so inefficiently in my life. For the good of the business, that woman needs to be fired.

Worst bowling alley I've been to. I am shocked it would be so bad for being close to a rich Bayonne neighborhood. You can tell the staff are not kid friendly here. The bowling alley staff are ghetto and the computers are really old and look like the space machines from Star Trek and are difficult to use. The balls get stuck in the back of the lanes! TERRIBLE!

Overall its a good experience. The facilities are clean. The rental shoes are the cleanest I have ever rented. The scoring board even though its a little outdated, still works. There were some lanes that had trouble re-setting the pins but ours was okay. The food was surprisingly affordable and good. They offer Filipino food and I recommend the sizzling sisig for those who like to have a beer while bowling. I wish I could give the place 5 stars but the score is because I found the staff a little too stressed out and lacked customer service. When we walked in, I was the only on in line. It still took the managet and staff a good 10 minutes to get to me or even acknowledge me. When they finally got to help me, neither one of them were friendly. Not a smile. But like I said overall the experience was good.

PARTY Gone Wrong!!!!! Oh My Goodness!!! Let me first start by saying that my husband and I always read reviews on places we are planning to use. However, we do not allow any of them to influence us. Good or bad. We won't judge until we try it out for ourselves. While looking for a venue for our son's birthday, we came across Hudson Lanes. We were so excited! That being said , we had read some negative reviews on this place. We decided not to judge and give them the benefit of the doubt. We then proceeded with our planning to have our son's party there. Long story short, most of the weekend staff were extremely rude and obnoxious the day of the party. They brushed us off and misinformed us from the start. My husband and I felt like WE were the ones working there. WE had to figure things out for ourselves. They said we can set up in the party room early. So we arrived 40 min before the start of the party to set up. Then they told us we can only decorate the party room while our guests were there. Later on, the staff ended the bowling game in the middle of the kids playing. The kids were sooo upset. When I went to complain, all they did was shrug their shoulders and say their time was up. I think that a little warning would have been nice. They also said we had to pay for the party right away. We were still in the middle of eating. Finally, towards the end of the party the staff said our guests and I had to leave. Due to another party waiting. We were upset at this point and told them we had at least 15 min left. We told them we are not leaving until our guests finish eating their cake! Problem after problem to say the least. The only good thing in that place was the friendly workers from the SNACK BAR and the delicious food from the SNACK BAR only. . . and of course our sweet guests. We thank the Lord for our blessings but we will never ever have another event there again!!! It may be a great place to bowl just dont have a party there!!! Shameful and cold hearted weekend staff!!!

WORST BIRTHDAY PARTY EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO BOOK A BIRTHDAY PACKAGE HERE. They only gave us bowling time for an hour and some lousy food. They did not provide most of the things included in the party package. Along with that, the host was very unwelcoming, and staff was extremely rude. They made faces at us, and refused to talk to us. They didn't even give us a refund.

Went on Friday night, busiest day for them, got advantage of a night special, 2 hrs including free shoe rental parties up to 6, we were 5 and really enjoyed our time there, we had time to play two full games. Great attention at the front desk and crew overall. Food was really cheap and better than expected they even had a veggie burger!. Highly recommended.

Hands down the worst bowling alley you can EVER go to. If you wanna have fun and enjoy ur time I suggest you go anywhere but here. Got here 4 on a Sunday with a group of friends and the staff was EXTREMELY RUDE. Never been treated so badly. The lady at the front desk had no manners what so ever. We asked for an extra pair of shoes and she refused and replied with “you only asked for 2 I’m only giving u 2”. As she was calculating the money she told us all “move” because ur too loud and when we stopped speaking she said “no. Go to ur lanes u don’t meed to be here”. No way to treat the costumer. Later on in the game the security told us we can’t stand as the game is going on. “Only one person plays the rest sit”. However everyone at the bowling alley was walking around. About 5 minutes into the game our lanes shut down. When we went to the front desk they told us we were “warned” to stand back. Overall the experience was terrible.

I remember the first time going to Hudson Lanes as a real young kid, and its nice for a place to stay put after a few decades. Its also hard to find a place where a bowler (bowling more then just for fun) has a place with 1) non synthetic lanes and 2) that hasn't gone to the "rave" dark lit lanes and loud base driven music. Management and lanes staff are always willing to listen and work with you as long as the same respect is returned. Their Tuesday/Wednesday deals are some of the best bowling deals in all of Jersey City and within about a 25 minute driving radius. You have concession with American/Filipino Food to help feed the inner beast within between frames and a bar with a limited drink selection but its always nice to have the both inside the same environment. I have bowled here now on a weekly basis and its something that I look forward too. Easy to get to via public transportation via Bus and Light Rail and lots of ample parking on the side and the back. Hope that atmosphere continues to happen for years and many more bowling days to come. ;3

Ive never been to a ally that had over 32 lanes. They have 64 lanes so getting a lane here is far from a problem. There is like a 2min wait time which is amazing. They have leagues here and i personally think its a really great family environment

We come here all the time for their Sunday breakfast bowl special. Fairly cheap compared to other bowling alleys, a little run down, but they did just get new flat screen monitors. Good for casual bowling or leagues. Seems to be popular with the local crowd.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STOLEN MONEY I have school pass when I show them there faces turned and start looking to each other, gives us a very bad attitude and worst customer service I had ever seen before, and in third round they said the game is over, while when we went before without school pass for free game and we paid full amount we spend around 40 minutes for one game with full 6 labs , this is the worst place ever and I never got a refund.

I went here today and for the first time had the worst experience. We paid for one game and the pins were not set right to begin with. We went up to the desk 4 times to get them reset but yet the system would only let us bowl once per turn. After spending about 25 mins going back and forth 4 times with different instructions on how to reset it with no one even coming over to help us, we decided to leave. The problem want getting fixed and it was getting late. I asked for a refund because we did not get to bowl and could not get the problem fixed. We originally paid $15 in total for one game and the man at the front desk handed me back $3.90 as a refund. I politely asked him to refund the full amount and he refused. I asked for the manager and after speaking with her she literally threw a few more dollars in my hand and told me that's all I would get back. I have never had any issues with this place before but I was appalled at their behavior. Very dissappointed because I've been going there for years almost every summer. I don't know if I'll be going back...

This place is horrible. We got here after 7pm and we could not get drinks or beers being the bartender had something else to do. They didnt have any food we wanted so we had to go across the street to wendys to feed the kids. We spent a lot of money to not be able to access all the amenities that this place offers. I will not be going back.

Today I went to the bowling alley. We were having fun. Then a lady named Nicole who says that she was a " manger" and the other snpanish lady came screaming so loud that the whole bowling ally heard her. She said we were lunatics and started cursing. The she started harassing us. We called the police. The officer this is not the first time jersey city police were here. He also said that Nicole is rude and unprofessional. WE NEED MORE ACTION. SHE NEEDS TO GET FIRED.

Hudson lanes is a great place for family fun!!! My family has been going to bowl here for many years. We love the Fried Chicken and French fry party platter. My boys attended this bowling alley for practice and grew as bowlers because of it. The staff is always helpful and the environment is always friendly.

Lanes are pretty nice but balls are very uneven and full of scratches and cracks. Not much food options. Yeah drinks available but expensive each beer around 4.5$, no pitchers. If it is fully crowded seating will be confusing.. some lanes have common seating which make half the people of your team to stand.

This is my primary bowling alley. There is usually an awesome special from 9pm-12pm every day. The snack bar is cash only. The bar does accept credit cards and is reasonably priced. I will miss this place most when I move

If I could, i would give 0 stars for this place. After booking my kids birthday party more than a month in advance, we had to cancel the event last minute. we were very clear before booking the party that though this is a kids birthday party, it was going to be a family event (about 50-60 total headcount) and during the booking they told us to provide only kids approximate headcount only; adult lanes should NOT be an issue and that I could let them know a day in advance. I even asked them if I need to provide final headcount a week or two weeks in advance. They said a day in advance should be fine. A day before i called in to check if all was good and according to the plan, Nicole said they cannot acomodate 30 adults anymore. She was very rude over the phone and said she did not have time to talk to me anymore because other customers were waiting! We ended up going to the place and talking to a manager named james, thinking he would understand. Earlier from Nicole we knew only 1 side (better side) was scheduled in, so we knew its not the space but scheduling the lane issue. Clearly, we wanted little kids and adults to bowl in the same side of the room so adults could help younger kids if needed. James said he would go inside and talk to manager "Tony" over the phone see. He came back out and refunded our money said sorry we cannot acomodate the adults and that they were sold out (LIE) ! we even asked where did we go wrong - we were very clear before booking the party, it was going to be a family event and were willing to pay for adult lanes in advance to reserve if needed be. we had to cancel the party last minute because we couldn't have moved such a large party else where at the last hour- it was extremely embarrassing ; had numerous broken little hearts and most importantly we ended up the time of our lives in planning etc which we can never be compensated for. we even had out of state family over for the event. Bad customer service at the front desk. Senior management needs to step up and manage this place better!! Sad that despite of being from jersey I would rather go to manhattan or may it be smaller/ expensive but better bowling alleys in other towns. Be aware I highly recommend to stay away from this place and save precious times of your lives, guys!

Lanes are somewhat cared for but the approach is never clean. The parking lot might shred the underside of your car. The food is cold or old and never fresh. The bar is pretty slow and pours are weak and therefore overpriced.
