I love this place. A great local bowling alley with 8 lanes and a side bar that serves great bar food. We did a birthday party there and it was a hit. This is our go to spot on rainy days with the kids. Good jukebox selection too. A must if you live in the area

Staff is insanely racist. The guy who attended us was very rude from the moment we walked in, yelling at us saying we weren’t allowed to bring in water. One of my friends dropped his drink and he gave him a paper tower roll and said “figure it out and handle it.” Never going back again.

Very cute small down bowling alley. We went with a Groupon and the staff was very nice. The food was decent for bar bowling alley food. There was good music and the bowling functioned well. Small but good place to bowl with family.

Placed was packed, tiny, smelled, and was very creepy in the end of a long dark hallway. When I asked how long would be the estimate wait time, the men in the front desk answered me by laughing and saying "what do you think?!" Never again will I go there. And too think a small little town would have a nice cozy place... NOPE.....just creepy. I rather go to Elizabeth or Linden..

Garwood Lanes for the most part is a nice place, however there are a few thing that I don't like. One of these things is the weird smell. For some reason there is always an odd smell, often it is of cigarettes. Additionally, it is not the cleanest bowling alley I have been to. The lanes themselves are clean, however, the hallways and stuff are not. Finally, they often will try and scam you into paying more. I have gone there multiple times while wearing white soled sneakers (the website says you can do this instead of renting shoes) and have not had a problem, however, recently I went there and they made me buy shoes to play in. Normally this would not bother me, but they were a little snarky. Other than these things the place is really fun. And I would totally recommend going!

Nice but too small, only 8 Lanes. If you're unfamiliar with the area it's very hard to find. But if you're going there it's across from the Garwood train station. Their bar has great burgers.

I've never bowled here, but Stella on tap and some of the best burgers in NJ, and friendly, personable and attentive service. You don't go for the décor, but it's a clean and comfy lil' spot in a nice town, and good people servin' good eats at good prices. Go and enjoy. :)

I call this place the gem of Garwood. Family owned and operated . It's a local bowling alley that has events and hosts parties upon request. In the front there is a cozy bar that serves good food too.

Even though online they say they are open until 2, and on everything inside says they are open until 2, and they are advertising $12 for unlimited bowling until 2... we were kicked out very rudely at 1. He proceeded to shut the lanes down at 12:59 exactly, in the middle of the game, couldn't even let us finish and we were almost done. The only thing that saved the night was the somewhat friendly bartender. Brandon, I believe was the guys name, you have made a group of about 15 people never want to come back to Garwood Lanes.

I loved this place, the only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is because they need to leave a better time description in the details. This place only has 8 lanes and they host bowling leagues so if your planning to go during the week make sure to go between opening hours and 4:30 because they close at 6pm and reopen again at 10pm. The description doesn't indicate this so I myself made the mistake of getting there at 6 when they where closed for the league games. However when we did go back everyone was pleasent and very tentative. If you have to wait for a lane upon your arrival they have games to entertain your kids while you wait. We had a great time. I left a picture of this week's schedule.

Please ask your staff who answer the phone call to be more specific with timing and service, i called in advance to find out if this place was open, reached there to find out it was closed for league, what was the point of calling, getting wrong info and driving all the way to find out it is closed, place is so small. Would not go again.

This bowling alley is tiny, it only has 8 lanes! On a Saturday night the wait can be close to an hour. Garwood Lanes is really just a bar with bowling and shouldn't be considered a bowling alley.
