As you can see it reaches an opinions average is really positive, and it's founded on a high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the rating is quite accurate. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they are pleased with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bowling Alley corresponds to the category of Live music venue.
Had the special, a seasoned beef, egg, avocado, salsa and sour cream burrito. I was a little skeptical, but the waitress was very reassuring. I sure was glad I took her advice and got the burrito after all. It was delicious! It's something I definitely would get again.
Just chowed down phenomenal chicken sliders aka "the dude," with a side of kingpin burger. Super yummy. Awesome that they have a kid friendly menu for my 3 year old. Fun, retro diner atmosphere. Lively, with great customer service! Two
Music was great! They call their eatery a 'diner' but only offer limited bar foods. Eat before/after you go if you have dietary restrictions.
Live music, great food/drink and bowling!
Cool vibe, nice bar set up and beer selections. Lanes are on the smaller side but get the job done
What a great venue! Good beer, full bar, not a bad seat in the house, slick decor - all together a great spot to see a show. Or bowl, one assumes. I can't speak to the quality of the diner but the opening act we saw recommended the meatloaf.
Best sound in Asbury. Totally revamped. Great place to experience your favorite live performances
Newly renovated and very cool
Cool place for live music in Asbury, New Jersey! First time there, but will definitely go back!
great place to see a show...and bowling
A very fun place to hear local music and just hang out
Great diner off the boardwalk with solid food and service
Neat place, cool vibe. Stage is great, bar is great, lanes are good too. Diner looks right, but the food could be a little better. Overall a great venue.
This is a review of the diner; the bar looks cool, will probably bowl there with kids in the future and will want to see a show there as well, after which I will update, but we only walked through that part. As for the diner, excellent experience. Went for early (5pm) weekday dinner with three kids (7, 8 & 9). They all enjoyed the food (pancakes, mac & cheese, burger & fries, all of which looked great). The fries were phenomenal and the vegan impossible burger I got was quite tasty. They also had a small but very good, local tap list. Best part though was the service. Our waitress, Jerry, was fantastic and friendly, and so was all the other staff. No five stars because prices on some items were very high, and the diner area is very small, but I will definitely be back.
I'm conflicted. Full Disclosure, I worked at the Lanes in its original incarnation. This is a decent live music venue. Good sound, good lighting. There is no soul or personal touch to this establishment. It is a factory to take your money while you see a band. The old Lanes was Cheers for Old Punks. This place is a spot to see a show or go to a team building exercise for work. It's a good venue, but the magic is gone.
Seize the Day played and they were awesome! Diner is good food, need a bigger menu. The stage is setup nicely too.
Really cool concert venue. Lots of good beer available.
Great vibe in this iconic venue
Bowling, food, and music. I didn't try the first two, but I did spend a great evening watching the gang of four. Great atmosphere and sound. Wait for it: a bowling ball hitting pins will add a sense of urgency to a lyric that you won't hear anywhere else.
Very intimate venue with a great sound and energy
This was definitely one of the coolest venue's I've ever been to. It's not huge, but it has really great character. The wall of speakers on either side of the stage is awesome, the bartenders were quick, professional, and super nice. The only negative thing I can say is it took the first few songs of the headliner for the sounds crew to turn the lead mic up enough... Once they did though
Attended my nephew's concert there. Cool place.
Great music venue. Loved that there were pitchers of water on the bar!
Love the redesign! A great update to a fun local club.
Wonderful spot, great bands, Asbury Park!
This is an awesome venue for shows! Could see the stage well from anywhere I stood and the sound was good too! The drinks weren't super overpriced like they usually are at shows. And you could actually easily get a drink at the bar, so that was great as well! Also just a great place to go and hang out for a bit! When there isn't a show they have bean bags and chairs set up on the floor. Plus, you could even bowl or grab a bite at the diner! Love this place! A new Asbury favorite!
Great experience. Nice place to see a show and a bite to eat. Staff is friendly.
Cool music venue in a converted bowling alley; first time visiting here. Definitely recommend seeing a show here.
Just lost in originality once renovated, bad call. Miss the old Lanes!
Entirely shocking and unacceptable experience last night. We were there for all of 15 minutes when we realized our friend was missing. We found her 20 minutes later locked in the diner area...alone and not eating. We discovered that one of the security guards grabbed her by the neck and locked her in there because they accidentally let her in -and she is not 21. Their website mentions that the establishment is child friendly... and there is NO SIGNAGE that states age limits or anything of the like. They allowed her in and then assaulted her unnecessarily. We will be pursuing legal action and are now on a mission to publicly shame this poorly managed business.
great concert place
This is a nice medium sized venue. The staff is friendly, the sound is always really good. There is parking right out front.
I was here for a concert. The sound equipment is good and acoustics are surprisingly decent. Prices at the bar are fair. Overall a good venue to see your favorite bands at. I'll definitely be looking out for future shows here.
Great place to hang out and chill, staff amazing, Jeff the Chef makes the best food and his waffles were the lightest I've had. Andrew the barman was very accomadating and great to chat to.
Talk about a great place.. First time there, DJ played great music. We played ping-pong while we waited for a bowling Lane.. Believe that a bowling Lane in Asbury Park. One of the most eclectic places I've ever been in, there's even a diner inside the building.. It's also a concert venue. We had a great time.
Brand new. Great sound.
This is honestly one of the coolest and best venues I've ever been in.
Great place with really nice peeps. Go check it out!
great job on the remodeling
Clean, Hip, Good Vibes, Food it pretty good too much higher end
Great venue for shows. Loved how if the band stopped playing for a minute you'd hear the pins falling in the background from the lanes in the back. Didn't try the food but the beer was super reasonably priced and had a good selection.
Great venue, great diner, great hotel! The whole Asbury setup is amazing!
The real deal, great sound system, cool atmosphere, nice bar, and you can frickin bowl. What else do you need? What really nailed it for me was the staff, it was hot and humid out and they provided free endless pitchers of ice water and cups. A real class act.
Great bowling, cool staff, awesome music BUT.....unlike Brooklyn Bowl in NY who tapped the Blue Ribbon fried chicken chef, the food is not great. Good, but not great. If you don't understand what I am saying, then head to Brooklyn Bowl and order the fried chicken. Then you'll understand. It only takes one dish to have people coming back all the time. Maybe some late night bowling and a Frank's pork roll egg and cheese on an onion roll? I'm just saying...
Venue:5 stars I give this venue a complete five stars. The show we went to see was great. I liked how it was a mix of the old bowling alley and the new bowling alley. Will be back again for a show! Diner:1 star The diner is a completely different story from the venue. It took 20 minutes to get asked for drinks and it took another 30 minutes to actually get our drinks. There was only one person working ,so it was completely understaffed. Took an hour to get two sandwiches, when it wasn't even that busy. Definitely will not be back at the diner.
Very cool place. Great place for music
Fun little piece of history. A nice small venue to catch acts you enjoy. Nice experience, for a smaller venue. I'll come back more often now that is reopened.
Amazing concert with Meat Puppets...Diner open 24 /7 great deal and food. Wonderful atmosphere !
Such a cool venue. Great place to see a show. Diner food a little too trendy and weird, but the bar side is great.
Place was great. Last band was awesome tonight. @UMightbeMine. I appreciate original music.
Great hangout spot with a killer bar and incredible diner. I highly recommend the hot honey fried chicken!
45 min and still do not have an over priced beer. Sold out show and 3 bartenders. I will never return!!!
Amazing venue for a concert! Got from row spots and was able to enjoy the performance thoroughly!! The lightening was impressive and truly enhanced the performance! There was a bar (I'm underage so I can't vouch for pricing or anything) that was styled nicely. All in all, wonderful, personal venue.
I was here to see a band and had a wonderful time! The venue was nice and the prices on beer was around $ and shots $$, bathrooms were pretty clean and the staff was helpful and very nice!! If a band of my choice plays there's again I would definitely go back!! Enjoy!
I had a personal connection to the old place and was sad to see it go, but they really did a good job with the remodel. The bowling lanes seemed a little slick to be honest if you’re serious about your bowling but still a great environment to hang and bowl with friends. The bar setup is great and the stage is awesome. I’ve seen a couple shows with the new setup, the acoustics are great.
My daughter is vegan. I am not. Both of us enjoy eating here. Service food price all five stars
Very cool place! Definitely want to go back and see some live music.
Sorry just loved it before remodel now is just too loud too bright
Pricey or 5 Stars for sure but great staff, ambiance, themed nights, atmosphere, bar & diner window=FTW
Saw P.I.L. here October of 2018. Nice venue, the show was sold out but it wasn't overly crowded. In my opinion the bathrooms aren't big enough for a capacity of 700 people. Overall good experience.
Three of us went for the first time during restaurant week and all got different things. The food was tasty, restaurant was clean, and prices were good. We were pleasently surprised.
Great new venue, the do need to tweak the sound system for hard rock bands
Went there for the first time to see Mike Gordon on March 16th. There is street parking right outside the building. I got there early enough to get a spot close to the entrance. Paying for parking from a little after 7pm till midnight cost me $10.25. The line to enter the venue was really slow with only one lane to empty your pockets and walk through the metal detector. The room itself is pretty small. There is a bar on each side of the stage and the bathrooms and merch table are right by the entrance. There was a roped off area in the back with 3 or 4 lanes for bowling. I also saw some tables and chairs near the lanes but that area was already full of people so I found a spot near the bar. Very good, clear sound but I was close to the stage so I couldn't say how it was in the back. The bartenders were fast and the staff in general were cool. No unnecessarily aggressive security guys. The drinks are the usual high price you pay at most shows but not as ridiculous as MSG or PNC. It's a typical general admission venue aside from the American flag made of bowling balls over the bar.
Never had the chance to go to the old Asbury Lanes, but this was an awesome venue nonetheless! The bowling ball American flag above the bar is really cool. The only issue I had was if you're standing at the very edge of the stage, the speakers are kind of right above and a little behind. Doesn't seem like the greatest spot to hear the concert from
Big portions and great food at the Diner
What an awesome venue! Great local beer selection, at reasonable prices. Saw a live show there and the acoustics were fantastic. Will be back for sure. Next time, we’ll try the bowling!
Loved How They Turned This Venue Into A Concert Hall For The Night Featuring "PJ Morton"!!! Kudos Asbury Lanes!!!
Great venue, not too loud or quiet, and usually not crowded. Listening to a concert while people bowl in the background is incredibly novel.
This venue is pretty cool. The location is great and the renovation makes the place look really clean and slick. However if you used to frequent this place like I used to keep in mind that the grittines and griminess is completely gone. And the other thing is the stage has moved which I personally don't like. It felt too cramped because it was right next to the bar. However on the whole I liked it. The water was free and the food was decent.
Decent food, terrible service. Freezing cold and three different sets of music blasting (live, ambient, and kitchen staff’s)
Great staff cool venue
It's a great venue for live music!
The atmosphere of this place is cool.
No soul. Might as well be a Hard Rock Cafe or hotel bar.
A good small venue to see a show. Bar service was slow.
Very cute place and the bartenders were all super friendly. Had a great time seeing Thursday here
Fun local venue for seeing concerts. Also a really cool place to go bowling with friends. Bar staff is friendly. Interior is fun and interesting.
What a great place for a show
Cool venue and good diner. Pork roll waffle sandwich is decadent deliciousness.
Loved it here..food ..drinks .concert and bowling awesome experience
Awesome place to see a band! Stage and wall of amplifiers a unique touch.. a small fortune to bowl but aside from that drinks arent a rediculous price and bar is nice with a solid selection of craft beer, especially New Jersey brews! Asbury Park has really become a nice spot again.
Frickin awesome. They have really bouncy beanbags and cool bouncy couches
Great place to visit and spend a day. Watched MTV’s VMAs performance by Jonas Brothers here. Loved the crowd and performance. Amazing work by police that made everyone feel very safe and organized. Appreciate their great effort in making the evening great.
Sooooo rad! Staff is awesome and solid venue. What a gem!
Great venue for seeing live music. Very different from the old Asbury Lanes. More geared towards bands than bowling now, though they still have 5 or 6 bowling alleys. Good sight lines to the stage from just about anywhere on the floor. Will definitely be back!
We went to catch a rock n roll show...5 cool known guitar bands rocked the house. Staff courteous & friendly, venue clean and attractive and the 2 big bars served up good, reasonably priced drinks. Didn't try the attached, mini diner but people seemed to be enjoying. Same with the mini bowling alley. I thought the sound system was good, despite some others' comments. I'd readily go again if I wanted to see & hear the artist. It wasn't too hard to find paid street parking about a 10 minute walk away, but it WOULD be nice if Asbury Lanes could figure out how to provide adjacent parking.
Beautiful venue! Not too big, they don't seem to let it get overcrowded for a show, and it's in Asbury Park which is a great place to hang out! I can't wait to go back to see the Alarm in August!
Standing up to see a show, but otherwise comfortable. Good air conditioning and ventilation.
Bar was good. Unable to bowl because of a private party but I'm sure it's cool.
This place was awesome! I loved the layout and the theme. The staff were super friendly. I've been to a lot of venues and definitely give these guys props. I hope to see more shows here soon.
IMPOSSIBLE BURGER! It's so vegan and so good. Kyla, our server, was great. The staff was dancing to Motown as they were welcoming us...not in a corny way either, but a hey! We're excited to be here way. Great option for vegans, especially if they're going to be open 24/7. Plus, Asbury is in need for a late night food spot. * This review is strictly for the diner, as we didn't enter into the actual lanes. *
Was attending the Andy black concert , and had a digital camera with a removable lense with me for the 4-ish hours I was standing outside , we finally had security come out and went to go into the venue when I was told by a security guard that I could not continue with my camera . I then proceeded to ask why I could not bring it in and was told ‘it’s policy it’s on the website’ I then am apprehend by another security guard who tells me I will have to go to the back of the line if I put my camera in the car so I would not be with my girlfriend or I had to hand them over my camera to be held in the office , I refused and was then told that I should stop giving the security guards an attitude when I only asked why I could not bring it in. I traveled an hour to see the show and did not have anything said to me after taking picture with the camera for multiple hours while outside , the security told me finally that if I went to the car and put it away they would let me back with my girlfriend but I should stop giving attitude . I then looked at the entire website and found no mentions of cameras on either asbury lanes website or the site I bought my ticket . I do not appreciate the way this was handled especially after multiple crew members has large dslrs and apparently had a ‘pass’ that I did not . I don’t know if it’s the faults of asbury lanes or Andy’s security or what it was , but I didn’t not appreciate the way it was handled. I probably would not return for a nice evening or another concert . Especially when the camera I had was a digital camera that just had a replacement lens. I’ve heard horror stories of handing over things to be put in the office and it was a several hundred dollar camera that belonged to my father so it was not going with them anywhere .
Nice place pleasant staff.
Awesome food. Very well done.
Love it! The diner is fantastic and the bars inside the lanes are great. Always a great time.
waited 50 minutes for a classic BLT and 4 pancakes! Server said it was backed up but I saw 3 plates come from the kitchen in the amount of time my order arrived. Get it together people, little details can make all the difference.
Great space with two bars, stage for bands, 6 bowling Lanes and a great dinner inside the venue. Really enjoyed it.
Awesome venue, still has lanes and a counter to get food.
Great venue to see a concert!
Concert venue. Was once a punk rock place. Gentrified now. They left a few lanes that are a waste of space. Nice looking bar and stage. Good bands now and then.
Cool spot to hang out and listen to live music while you bowl. It wasn't very busy when I was there, but I can see that it will draw a crowd. Food was really good, and the service was excellent.
This is now one of my favorite night clubs. They nailed the re launch of this iconic landmark. You can Bowl, dance and consume beverages and have a great time here. What is amazing is that you have a wide range of age groups and it doesn't seem to matter, people are just having a good time. The sound system is excellent, you can enjoy the music and still carry a conversation. I was in attendance for a private event at this venue and I think they knocked it out of the park. I will be back for sure this summer.
Great place to see a show. Intimate space for a concert and there is not a bad seat in the house. Standard bar offerings as well as some local craft brews. The coat check is a little over priced at 5 dollars but drinks and food seemed like a good value. Staff was very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
It's a great place! Friendly staff, good acoustics but LOUD.
Great venue! Friendly security. Hopefully the second bar will be open next time.
Went to the diner after a full day of hanging around 1am. Food was tasty. Also have a concert hall and a few bowling lanes. Kool venue.
Just had breakfast at this amazing diner. Will be back for shows and bowling.
Saw BTBAM here in the newly renovated space and it was great!
Good times and great staff, especially at the bowling desk. Bowling, DJ, and ping pong.
Great time at Jukebox Criminals!!! Great band and the venue is set up very cool!!! Old school diner, bowling, and great music!
I saw Hawthorne Heights & Silverstein and the sound was excellent. The stage is set up a bit high where even if you're short, like I am, I could still see. I'd definitely go see another show there
I went to check it out for the opening earlier this month and it was very cool - this place is an excellent venue with great light and sound; and the staff were great. Drinks were good and fairly priced. I also ate in the diner and was impressed with the food. Everything was freshly made and the menu had a huge variety of options; definitely will have to go back to try some more. The boozy milkshakes and the burger sounded great!
The place looks amazing since the remodel. The stage and surrounding area looks awesome. The drinks are good and the little diner serves up some good food. The new bowling lanes also look great. Everything about the building from the mural on the outside to the bathrooms inside to the diner has all impressed me. The wall of old amps along the stage is sick. Really reccomend checking this place out.
Go to this venue if you enjoy feeling like you're in a college student's interior design thesis. Everything feels so artificial and fabricated it's as if you're watching live music inside an old rich investor's simulation of what a cool venue should feel like. This place wouldn't have atmosphere if you flew to mars and opened the door. Speaking of, that's what that entire place should do. And then there's the dining experience, which, in place of an extremely long winded story, I will say was absolutely abysmal. I would rather eat broken glass shards out of a cereal bowl then chase it with a shot of draino than have the complete displeasure of entering this place ever again so long as I draw breath. At least I feel better after writing this. Have a nice day, jk, don't.
Nice venue for an intimate concert there. Big sound.
Great venue. The acoustics are amazing. Drinks are reasonably priced.
Great intimate venue for live music!
Neat retro venue, great sound and bar staff. Diner portion was insanely slow.
What a great music venue. Amazing sound, well designed, bars plentiful. Nice ice cold A/C on a crazy hot day. This was a much needed addition to the Asbury Park music scene. Hope it gives the Stone Pony a little incentive to step up their game.
This is a great spot to see live music! Even the "back row" is close enough to see the facial expressions of the performers! Drinks are decently priced for this kind of venue. I'd be willing to bowl there too!
Fun atmosphere great staff
Great music. Fun environment
Atmosphere was cute but apparently the menu changes at 12am from a full menu to literally nothing.
Small Dinner but good food!
Cool place to go see a concert, I had a great time. Definitely more of s party place than for serious bowlers. The staff was nice and they seem to know how to out on a good rock concert. I will definitely go back in the future for another concert
Special shout out to the entire staff at Asbury Lanes for being so friendly, accommodating & just overall welcoming. ☺️From the sound engineers to Geri (I’m sorry if I misspelled), who seemingly made meeting each band’s needs look easy & who’s smile was infectious. Endless gratitude! The music & the experience is truly a priority at Asbury Lanes.
WOW!! The place is great. Doesn't look like the same place . Watched football on their Gigantic screen. Also, we had lunch at diner.
Liked it .nice new design great sound!. But, do miss the old venue.this one is totally different. Dont expect many similarities if you used to go to the old one.
The sound system and light show was awesome. Great place to see a show.
The service in the Diner was super friendly the food was delicious. The show going on in the bowling alley was amazing
The old Asbury Lanes' charm was that it was such a dive. The stage was set up right on the bowling lanes. This place is more polished. Given the fact that the Lanes are such a big part of Asbury's history, I'm not thrilled to see it looking like that. The stage is better, of course, and the place feels cleaner. The beers are reasonable, but $11 for a thimble-sizer shot of Jameson was a bit absurd. So, it depends what you're looking for. It's a better layout for a bigger, if less intimate, show than before, and feels more like a concert venue than a place that had a weird charm to it.
Wow. Didn't expect such a wonderful place. I thought it was a bowling alley. Sure it has a few lanes left. But the atmosphere is just too nice to not take in. Best place for a show I can think of. Amazing. Food/diner is nice touch so so tastes and expense. But not bad at all. Easy to recommend and sure go hungry why not. It won't break the bank and it was ok (fried peanut butter cups, fries and califlower...) Nice finger food to listen to the tunes with....
Excellent venue! Sound was great, environment was also.
We saw Railroad Earth here in June and the venue is fantastic. Clean, modern, good beer, and very accommodating. Welcome back!
Awesome time. Doro and Metal Church played. Greatest time ever
Love the feel & look of place
Unique place. Got to reserve a lane for bowling with some friends while having drinks and listening to live music. Did not get a chance to eat at the attached diner.
Cool music venue, great food, friendly staff
The change from what it was is very disappointing, but the atmosphere is great and the prices are great
The concert was good. The facility was nice. The bar service was good. The food from the diner was mediocre. I had the sliders and the small beef patties were dry and beyond over cooked to the point of tasting burned. The onion rings were decent, but greasy. Overall I would go back for concerts and events, but wouldn't order food again.
Cool spot. Tiny diner. Wish it had more lanes but of course they need room for the stage
Though it's called Asbury Lanes, it is a completely different experience once you are inside. I miss the old vibe, for sure. This is just a glitzy, new live music venue - nothing unique or cool about it.
Bar/concert venue setup with a few bowling lanes. Bowling is a bit expensive. Looks great and layout is different from the renovations. Diner is good - mostly appetizer available during the day.
Best place in Jersey to spend the 4th of July with family
Great place, good vibe.
Dope venue. Watched the PJ Morton show there. Seats were swallowed up fast. Area in front of the stage was tightly packed. Bar was pretty easy to access. They have 3 or 4 bowling lanes which appeared to be operational. Definitely would be lit for a milestone birthday celebration or even a 50-85 person wedding and reception. Performance was lit though...shouts to PJ Morton
Saw a Phoebe Bridgers show there with lovely acoustics thanks to the space and sound system at Asbury Lanes. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to seeing more shows and to enjoy the vibe there.
So darn adorable!!! Love it and can't wait to go back again. Very nice staff.
Went for a concert. The place was an awesome venue had a great time. It was raining pretty hard and they let us chill in the side area so as we weren't soaking before doors officially opened.
Pleasantly surprised. Went for concert. No bowling or food. Bar was maybe understaffed, but not long wait. Used wood from old lanes for hardwood flooring. Great sound from sound system for concerts.
Cool spot to hang out. Put your name in BEFORE you intend to bowl since very busy (2 hours). Cool inside bars and little food window to get snacks. Awesome bean bag chairs to sit on. Can choose to bowl for half hour or hour. Awesome vibe. Have never been to the old lanes but awesome to be at now! I’ll be back!!
Great concert venue!
A great venue for a concert,,,,a bowling alley,,diner and concert stage
Great surf music when we visited!;
The Lanes have changed since the '90s and not for the better. I understand that Asbury Park now caters to the trendy, but that doesn't justify putting on crappy artists that no one has heard of and serving overpriced drinks. 1 beer and 1 mixed drink cost $20. We did not try the diner that is now built into the Lanes.....that might actually be good.
What a unique venue for a concert. We had the pleasure of seeing Myles Kennedy there over the weekend and we really had a great time. Plenty of room and we even found a seat so we didn't have to stand the whole night. We ate at the diner on one other occasion and the grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best I've had in a while. I guess all that's left is to bowl a few games. Check it out if you can. I highly recommend it.
Had a GREAT time... I can't wait to go back!!!
Awesome place. nicely remodeled to include a band stage, two bars and food from the Asbury Lanes next door. Apparently you have to go to the diner next door to eat, then go to the bowling alley if you want to drink...kind of a bummer. I guess if you bowl then you can get appetizers...appetizers at the bar would be a nice upgrade.
