Had a great time bowling at Elsie's with friends. It's a pretty good deal to have everyone chip in and rent a lane for an hour. Plus, the beer selection is pretty good. Also, if you're looking to do karaoke and don't want to wait in line for hours, this place is where you want to go.

I honestly don’t write reviews, but this place took the prize. Everything went fine until we starting playing on the lane, it kept breaking and stopping. We barely got any momentum because it would literally stop working every five minutes. We got fed up with the situation and decided to leave this place, we asked for a refund and they refused to give us a full refund, stating that we played 50 minutes, but the lane didn’t work half the time, so we would literally stop playing, waiting for a miracle to happened. The girl on the register keeps saying that she can’t give us a full refund because we used 50 minutes, I said that’s fine, then give us a half a refund. Then her excuse is that the machine can’t do it, it can only do $14. After at least 5 minutes of going on a loop with her about getting our money back, we ask for a manager, and her manager was literally standing right next to us this whole time. He says we can get $17 back; which it just flat out struck me, how come you can now do $3 more but you couldn’t do the $20 I asked you for 5 minutes ago. My friend that actually payed for the whole thing end up taking the $17 back. Overall experience was horrible, bad customer service, and they were at least 3 lanes that weren’t working at all. Bad place to have good time.

This place has everything! Elsie's is the canonical example of a bar, bowling alley, banquet hall and really pulls it off. The staff is friendly and the food hits the spot. Great place to spend time with friends.

Great bowling alley, restaurant, and bar in one in a convenient location. Would give 5 stars, but service was not that good. Played a game and had a couple of beers, price was reasonable as well, but I really don't know how they compare to other bowling alleys. Service aside, I recommend this establishment. It's family friendly!

Delightful beer. However, if you play pulltabs, do not do it here. Place is full of vultures. People will watch you go deep in a box and then come in jump your box. Jabronis for sure. Will not return.

1st. Experience there and bartender was very good, 1st time we did the bus to the Twins game and it worked out good. It was a day game and folks can have breakfast before heading to the game and for 5.00 you get a ride to the game and a drink ticket after the game to have a free drink.

Elsie's is my favorite of the bowling + restaurants my husband likes to frequent to bowl. I find the food is the best here. And the staff are excellent!! We always receive great, fast service & get to know the folks who work here. It's a definite plus that there is low turn-over of staff, to me that says a lot about the ethical values of the establishment.

Love this place! Tasty food, awesome service at the lanes. Bowling is pretty cheap and lots of fun, alcohol isn't exorbitantly expensive. Went here for a birthday party and they have some arcade games and a digital juke box so you can select music! At night they turn on the special lights, darken the room, and restrict kid access (I think, not sure when 18+ happens). I hear breakfast is excellent as well. Had the best server when we went (group of 8+).

Fun place. Been there forever. You can bowl, throw parties, play games, get your drink on. If you meet a guy named Chris that works here tip him a lot because he deserves it, I've never seen a guy that enjoys what he does as much as he does.

Have been here several times over the last five years. We recently attended a networking event that went very smoothly. Also my wife and I had our marriage ceremony here in the renovated dining area. Great place to bowl or have an event or just stop in for a cocktail in Northeast. I know they were trying to revamp their menu as well.

Always love this place. My parents would come here for breakfast almost every weekend. I now carry on the tradition since my mother passed and bring my dad for lunch once or twice a week. Charles is our waiter and is amazing everyday. Nelson or Fernando is our usual bartender in the evening and consistently gives us amazing service. This place has served us for generations. Never has it fail us.

Elsie's is a great place for pleasing a large group of people. Their menu is varied and fairly consistent in quality. They recently did an update to their menu. My favorite dish is the Chicken Apple Brie Sandwich with the seasonal veggies as a side. The chicken is well seasoned and the sweet tartness of the green apple with the savory, creamy brie makes for a delicious combination. The atmosphere is very laid back but still with attentive wait staff. It's definitely a place you could hang out for a few hours with a group as long as Elsie's isn't brimming with people waiting to sit.

A hidden gem for sure! Don't write this place off because it's a bowling alley. There is a completely separate bar and restaurant and outdoor seating. Nice big, FREE parking lot. Go before a Twins game and park for free. Pay $5 for their shuttle and get a free drink when you return.

Terrible service. It took 15 minutes to get a menu, and then after I placed my order they lost it. And since the waitress never followed up, I waited 45 minutes to not get served breakfast until finally I had to go flag her down. She blamed the computer for losing my order. Don't go here if you feel like being served in a timely manner, or in my case, at all.

Never had a bad meal here. Good variety, nothing overly fancy. It's nice to have breakfast until 3pm on the weekends. Don't let the amount of vehicles scare you away. (They might be just bowlers)

Elsie's is hands down my favorite place in Northeast Minneapolis. The food is great, prices are good, and it is the best blend of restaurant/bar and bowling alley I have seen! You can be 21 or 71 years old and fit in here. Has a great neighborhood feel and tons of U of M supporters. Before Gopher football games, the place serves beers beers and breakfast to a horde of fans that stop by before the game. Check out afternoon happy hour for cheap drinks and a bite of great food, or late-night for drinks and open bowling.

Bowling, bar and restaurant all under one roof. What's wrong with that? Nothing. Elsie's food is great, their omelets are big, their Old Fashioned's are always tasty, salads, pasta dishes. Everything I've had there has been good! The bowling and bar and restaurant are separated so you can enjoy a quiet dinner, but bowlers can order up a nice meal as well. Cloth napkins for everyone! Sometimes, you might find an attitude from an employee, that's the only reason why I gave 4 stars.

We called on a Friday night at 11:56 PM to place a to go order for 4 people. The server who answered our call informed us that the kitchen closed at 12 midnight. Fortunately she still offered to take our order. Moments later we were picking up our food order and on our way. Our customer service experience was excellent as was our food! Hot, fresh and prepared to our specifications. The seasoned sour cream was amazing... you should try it! Great job, please keep up the good work.

It’s like a western Wisconsin Dells (a high compliment). The adrenaline is unrivaled to none other than go karts, 40 foot water slide drops, and lazy rivers. The party lights made me feel more alive on NYE than I had at any other point in 2018. The tiaras provided were top notch and of the highest quality. Will return. Only 4 stars because there wasn’t any recreational water activities. God bless.

Very cute spot for some comfort food. I split a ruben with a friend and a few beers and service was friendly and impressively fast. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the well rounded, but not overwhelming beer variety. Felt very at home in a restaurant I had just visited for the first time. I will be back!

Great food. Fast and friendly service. They have a fun bar area with karaoke and pull-tubs. They also have a quieter dining area too. TVs throughout the place to watch the games or whatever. Bowling is fun down the hall too.

I took my neighbor here for her birthday because that's where she wanted to go. I'll never return. I had the worst Reuben sandwich I have ever had in my entire life!! I would swear they used Cheez Whiz and Buddig packaged corn beef. The bread was much smaller than on most Reubens. To think I paid $12.00 for it makes me angry. There was nothing else with the sandwich, not even a pickle spear!! I could have had "Burnt Butts" (a good-sized portion) and 2 sides at Famous Dave's for less than a dollar more. Like I said, I'll NEVER return!
