I just wanted to share the details of a group reservation I had here for 12 people. Caroline, the person I was in contact with for planning was friendly and fast to respond to questions. The night of my event every staff member was friendly and helpful and they even let us play red bin bowling, so some attendees left with free future bowling. The food was decent and our pop stayed full. If I had to say one thing to improve, they served us mushroom pizza which seemed like an odd choice to serve without requesting that, nonetheless there was plenty of pizza, so nobody ate the mushroom anyways.

Belmark has decent prices and the sweet potato fries with garlic sauce are delicious! The staff is usually pretty friendly and personable. We love watching people sing karaoke. We went here every weekend for months.. it's a great place to hang out and have fun bowling.

Had a great time with family and friends here. Nice alley with overall clean conditions, however my thing is not speed bowling. Unless you speed bowl you will spend a lot of money bowling here. Understanding that bowling alleys are struggling keeping the doors open, renting a lane for $30 per hour is difficult when bowling with more than yourself. It's a stuggle to get 4 people through 2 games without rushing and being rude to other bowlers and vice versa. Cost us $70+ to bowl 2 games with a family of 4 and shoe rental with the fun being taken away from hurry hurry hurry. $$$$

This is a really nice bowling alley. The staff was so friendly and attentive when we were there for my niece's birthday party. It was really clean, well maintained and the food was really good. They had ramps for the kids and bumpers too. Everyone e had fun. From the 2 year old up to the 80 year old!

Nice, clean bowling alley, I bring my children here because they participate in "kids bowl free" and all we have to pay for is the shoe rental. The restaurant will deliver to your lane. The lanes are good, although on our last visit one of the pins was being read inconsistently (showed as knocked over when it had not been). There is a separate party area. They spray the shoes with Lysol between uses. For young children, 6 and 7 lb balls are available on request, along with bumpers and rolling racks.

Everything was good until the lane stopped working midway through our second game (we had paid for an hour of play). We went up to the front desk and they said they'd look into it but then 15 minutes passed and our time limit was up. The manager then explained to us after we went up the second time that it was "fixed" and that it had only taken 2 minutes while we had actually waited 15 and it still wasn't (the scoreboard didn't work and the pins were being held in the air) and only offered 5 minutes of play time to reimburse us. This was while he saw us putting our shoes on to leave. What a way to celebrate a birthday! Horrible customer service and lanes don't work.

Great place, especially weekends, where after 9 in the lounge area they have free karaoke with no cover or drink requirement. Actually, a walk up bar, so no constant inquiring wait staff.

We ordered food and drinks after pre paying for lanes for 2 hours. Five minutes after we ordered they told us we needed to cash out. I told them I would gladly cash out once I received my food. They told me that's not how they work. That I have to pay in advance for food it ended up taking an hour to receive. They were unapologetic and told me basically to deal with it even though they admitted it made no sense. Highly disappointed. Update: I did speak with the manager immediately. At no time was it mentioned that we could have opened a tab until the end of the conversation when we had already cashed out The manager was dismissive and not helpful. Soon after I left the review my name was announced over the PA system to come to the front desk. I was then approached by a second manager who had no communication with the server or first manager but had simply seen my review and wanted to confront me about it. He told me I should have communicated in person and I explained that in fact I had done that immediately. He wanted me to confront the waitress with him in a three way conversation as he blamed her for not mentioning that we could have run a tab. I found this incredibly unprofessional and explained as much. It is not my job as a patron to train his employees. I feel very sorry for the waitress as both managers were quick to throw all blame on her. The entire experience was absolutely unprofessional especially calling someone over the loud speaker to confront them about a review. I wish I could say that we won't be back but unfortunately birthday parties do occur. I will however be taking my future business to Chelsea or Ann Arbor.

Not for kid parties. Management went out of their way to say; after getting several hours for 4 kids, that we could only have ONE lightweight ball. Thats silly and restrictive. They were also decidedly non sympathetic about it. Not coming back here again, Colonial Lanes is much more kid friendly!

Racist establishment with bad vibes! People of color avoid this place! I went to this bowling alley to enjoy a friend’s birthday and had one of the worst experiences. Staff were rude and aggressive when addressing my party. The waitress made us pay for our meal before we even received it. When my friend asked for clarification if she wanted us to pay immediately (as she was passing out receipts), she responded “Please, most definitely!”. I ask that if you have recieved a similar experience, please post a review so that we can raise awareness about this place.

By far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a bowling alley. Our server was attentive and sweet- we enjoyed her. However, we had a frame and a half left in our game before our time expired, so we asked to have a few minutes to finish up. It was about 12:45am and half the lanes were open. The manager refused to give us 10 minutes to finish our game unless we paid a prorate. After spending over $100, we will not return. 3/4 of the bowlers work in the service industry, and this is NOT what costumer service looks like.

Went there recently for a birthday party the place is pretty nice and the staff is very friendly. Only issue I had was one of the staff members I believe it was a manager, taller bald guy, he was treating the other workers like total garbage I noticed it from the second I walked in the door. The waitress we had was amazing she did such a killer job and it bothers me to hear that she got reemed by that dweeb. Would have given 5 stars if not for that but we gave her a good tip so hopfully that made it better.

Truly disappointed with our experience. The place is dated and the scoreboard keeps getting messed-up. But the most unbearable is their horrible customer service. If you use a Groupon - you are at offense. We were FORCED to provide the personal information like address, phone number, and email "in case something is wrong with your Groupon". The management is EXTREMELY rude, arrogant, and disrespectful! Absolutely will not ever return.

Decent lanes, friendly staff.... But I still miss the steel tip dart boards. Steel tip was free. Soft tip was paid. Guess which one they still have? Edit: Management says Steel Tips are coming back! I feel like this is a good time to start recuiting for leagues. Okay, maybe not. Lol. But if they are putting real dart boards back up.... I feel like the community has an obligation to use them... A pitcher of beer at a time. Honestly.... Let's give them a reason to put the bristle board back up!

We had a party here and the staff was ridiculously annoying. He kept walking through out our party. He looked to be anxious. He was tripping over the kids, constantly in the way as we were eating and bowling, and overall just a pest. The waitress on the other hand delivered pizza, took drink orders, and checked with us like a normal waitress. She was kind and helpful. Also the semi- private bowling area is really really nice. The furniture and lanes are comfortable and clean.

Guy who is there all the time is probably the least customer friendly dude in all of Ann Arbor. Nice goin! You know how to get under peoples skin pretty well. After reading some other reviews about the same customer service problems, when do you think you would decide that “Maybe I am treating customers improperly.” I really wish that this bowling ally would turn around to what it used to be. But, unfortunately some people struggle with the concept of change for the better.

Great for kids! They have a "kids bowl free" program each summer where each kid can get two free games a day. They also have bumpers, light balls, and little slides that kids as small as two can use to set their ball on then it slides down into the lane. Staff has always been friendly, even when I've brought three wild little ones. There's no outside food or drink allowed so have the kids snack up before coming or buy food when you're there. We always get a pitcher of water and they offer styrofoam cups with lids and straws. They also have a ton of kid cartoon options for the animations on the screens when you strike, spare, etc. like minions and diary of a wimpy kid.

Bowling alley was much nicer inside than the exterior of the building leads on. The lanes have modern upgrades and ran smoothly. However, my sour rating comes from the absolutely poor staff performance. The bar keep was a 0 for customer service despite our 4pm visit where we had the place to our self. The attendants seemed confused about our party of 16 people and how to handle us. The staff seemed I'll equipped to handle groups, thus I'd avoid having a company outing here. We ordered food, and we were pleasantly surprised by it's taste, however most of what we got was fried food. Out of all of the local bowling options, I'd simply suggest driving a little farther and finding an establishment that appreciates your patronage.

Please read this review before doing business with this bowling alley. Today I have never felt so angry or more frustrated with someone on the phone when trying to track down a receipt that I am attempting to reconcile for my department at UofM. One of the owners I spoke with was extremely rude, unhelpful and not friendly at all. This was the first time my office has done business with this bowling alley and I am sure we will not be returning due the service. I was treated extremely poorly as a customer and community partner and truly felt like my receipt wasn't her concern when I was never emailed a confirmation number or receipt. I'm not sure if this is how they treat all of their customers but I also asked to speak to the manager and Caroline replied "I am the manager." She then proceeded to give the phone to someone who was not the manager, who did an awesome job helping me find what I was requesting in less than 5min, who also gave me the name of the actual manager. This had to be by far the worst customer service from management I have had. My only request was to get help tracking down my receipt I never received. Just sad....

Wonderful Bowling Experience - had 50 students. They were extremely organized. They had each students name loaded on the scoring system, shoes were placed at each lane for the students along with low weight balls. The cost was very reasonable. The staff was superb in every way. The wait staff at Bel-mark is a joke. I am handicapped and there are days that I just can not go up to the bar and place my order. Today I have been here for three hours and not one time was I asked if I would like to place an order. At one point I got the attention of a waitress from about twenty feet away, who said she would be back, that turned out to be false. This seems to be standard operating procedure at Bel-mark. This is just plain pathetic.

Came here just for food & music, so this review does not apply to the game experience Having eaten at a couple bowling alleys in the past, my expectations were low, but the food was actually pretty OK. I got the nachos, and the ingredients seemed pretty fresh. Crisp lettuce, real shredded cheese, diced tomatoes. My only complaint is the construction: the veggies were pretty cold on the top and cooled the whole thing down pretty much right as it hit the table. Looking around, the pizza looks great. When I come back for the live big band music, I'm definitely getting that.

Bel-mark Lanes is an Ann Arbor classic. Easy access from the freeway. Be sure to check their online schedule for league times if you’re trying to get an open lane. Their newly renovated section (Lanes 1-9) look very comfortable and we’ll be trying them out soon.

Good bowling alley to hangout. They got a lot of lanes and pretty good customer service. I loved my experience here. However one thing which annoyed me and made me give them 3 stars is that they would require one of your shoe as a security against the bowling shoes that they would provide. I mean seriously??? One shoe. I was walking with one shoe to the bowling lane. Either take both shoes in exchange for bowling shoes or take none. It's super silly and stupid to take one shoe. Everything else is just great.

Went there and thought it would be fun to do with my group of 9. We were refused lanes due to a bowling league using all lanes. Needless to say we ended up going to a sports bar and dropped about a grand on food and beverage. Couldn't even find a billiard table close by.

I am a semi-regular. I attend the karaoke that happens Fridays and Saturdays. The bar area is big enough for any party and stage, and there are enough bowling lanes for people of all ages. They even have a VIP section of bowling lanes.

If you come here do not expect to be treated nicely but why would you come here in the first place this place sucks and they will talk behind your back and they didn’t put bumpers for us because their policy is that we needed a 8 years or younger kid to play with us in the lane even though we asked nicely and said that we usually like to play with bumpers but they responded with a rude manner. Customer service doesn’t help this either I guess you can’t have nice things these days

I have had Google Reviews for years as my trusty sidekick but have never needed it to write a review for someone. I have never been in a situation where I had to write a review but today this changed. Bel-Mark has lost all of my respect. I have been a loyal lunch customer for this business for the last four months; unfortunately, Bel-Mark towed my car after it was left there for a couple hours today. This vehicle was never left overnight. I asked the individual who was behind the desk for help, but received very rude remarks. Turns out she is the owners wife. Awful customer service to a repeated customer. I will not be attending this place anymore. My work staff attends here regularly but that will stop now. I would've liked someone to talk to me respectfully and help me with a solution.

We went for Karaoke night for the third time this year. The woman that ran it this last weekend was terrible. She passed up our songs to allow people that had sang a few times while we were there go up. By the time we went up most all were gone. She also struggled to make sound work... too loud too soft. I can't wait for Circus to open back up. Also....clean the mics. Two if my kids got a cold after the visit.

Its real cean in the ladies room and they've managed to mostly eradicate the smell of generations of smokers. Workers are real friendly and a special shout out to the guy working at the shoe counter who loaned me a quarter. I will pay him back soon! I would give it a 0 star if that was an option. We went there yesterday with a larger group and the guy on the counter must have been on drugs or just really dumb. He wasn't wearing a uniform, which makes me believe that he was the manager or owner. I tried to explain to him multiple times what we wanted and he just couldn't grasp it and gave us a really bad attitude. After we played half of the game,the hour was over and we tried to play again and he was being so rude that we just got up and left. I will never ever go there again. The place was dirty adnd the customer service sucked really bad. This is my first bad review that I ha e ever left.

April 2017 -- Family friendly atmosphere and clean place to bowl. I had a lot of fun with my nephews. I did not try any of the food or drinks so can't speak to that but the front desk was helpful and quick in getting us shoes and resolving any issues with the lane (stuck balls, additional time, etc).

Very up-to-date on the inside, despite what it looks like driving up to it. It had enough lanes to which we could bowl on a Saturday evening. Monitors display a bunch of info about your bowling, which was pretty cool. Staff was friendly and checked in on us. Although we didn't bowl in their lounge it seemed like it would be a good place to bring a large group. A great alternative to Revel Bowl (gets too busy) or really most of the bowling alleys around.
