Bowling on the leagues is fun, and the lanes are decent. But they charge for a cup of water, it costs more to get a cup of water then it does a beer. 4 dollars for a large cup of water??? The general manager claims it's because he loses money, it's tap water, get over it, you make 4x the money from your snack bar.

Paid for an hour and left after 10 minutes. Two families to my right were arguing and the staff acted like bouncers. There were kids constantly in my lane and someone actually took my ball and used it. I was cut in line twice while trying to pay, and asked to move from my table to the table marked for my lane. I hated it - will never go back.

I came to Terrace Lanes Bowling Alley on 1/13/17 for the glow in the dark bowling. I liked the bowling and bowling alley, but that is the only reason I gave this place one star. The employees, specifically one named Fred, care nothing about the customers, and don't care about the money of the customers. There was one older employee named Fred, and he was one of the most rude workers I have ever seen. If there were little girls going to switch their bowling shoes size, he would give attitude, and would tell them that after he gives them the shoes, not to come back. Some kids in our group were bowling with more than one ball and Fred and the other worker turned our lane off! We asked them to turn it back on, and they said "No, you only have 20 minutes left." This extremely ticked me off because we paid for the tickets, and those twenty minutes left were twenty minutes we paid for. Honestly, if this is the service, I won't come back, especially if Fred is there. If the manager is reading this, I'd just like you to know Fred was incredibly rude, and may have ruined are whole party.

The bowling was fun and the alley had upgraded screens. They don't honor the specials listed on their site and the employees are rude and treated me and my group (who are all adults) like children. I'd suggest going to a different alley even if the screens are outdated. You'll still be playing the same game .

Very nice bowling lanes. The facility is a little dated but clean and the staff are friendly and helpful even when it's busy. All of the equipment is in good working order and the lighting and retro music rocks. Great mixed drinks too

Supposed to be rock in bowl not rapping bowl. I spent 3 hrs there and all that played was rap and 3 count it 3 country songs. Not 1 rock song. I'll never return.

Called and reserved a lane for 10 PM for their night bowling. Got together with several neighbors for a fun night out and since the reservations didn’t start until 10 o’clock we had to do a late dinner. Showed up for a fun night of bowling and was told we did not have a reservation and to please get out of line. We told them we called made a reservation he told us we were lying. We then asked to speak to a manager. He said his name was Andrew and he was the manager but this was obviously not true. He had no name tag A wrinkly shirt on and was one of the rudest individuals I’ve ever met my entire life. Please do not waste your time at this establishment you will be disappointed.

It has gotten nicer they redid the bar area so that it has a wider range of liquors and has a true bar feel to it and looks nicer overall. They also added speciality drinks you can order which is great for anyone that doesn't know what to get. Now while the bar is great the lanes are about the same as before and there is not enough balls for all the lanes so you ether have to act fast to grab your weight you need, bring your own, or make sure with what is not claimed.

Went on Feb 6, 2016 night and the girls serving food and drinks this night should be fired and they should hire people that actually want to serve customers with a professional attitude. First waited 15 minutes for some cheese fries and I am looking around and there are other customers waiting and the girl serving food was busy on her cell phone. Then she tried to serve me some old fries someone else had been eating off of at the counter. When I complained about waiting she said the problem was someone ate off my fries. I said NO, I order cheese fries and those fries sitting there did not have cheese so who was to know who ordered them. Then the woman serving drinks has a long line of customers and for 10-15 she is socializing with some joke of a customer talking about he needed a job and can't afford drinks and kept asking how much everything was. It was like a big joke so they were obviously friends cause I saw her pour him a shot and said don't worry it is free. Customer service is obviously not a strong suit and screwing off apparently is. When I complained about the lady too busy socializing to serve drinks while there is a long line of customers and we are paying by time, she told me to complain to the manager and so I did. He was kind enough to get our drinks and even though I was very upset by this time as I had spent more time dealing with the food and drink bar then I was having fun bowling with my family, I appreciated he cared enough to do the right thing for the customer. I have to also thank the other guy working this night at the check in counter. He was very kind and professional as well. If there was another bowling alley in the area, which I wish there was, they would be in a world of trouble. I hope they will read these reviews and hire a more professional staff. Would have given them 1 star if if weren't for the manager and other guy at the check-in counter.

Terrace Lance is classic and a Frederick staple! Yes it's an older facility, but staff are always friendly/respectful, down to earth, and they do their best to stay up to date with modern bowling equipment at reasonable prices while maintaining the small-town bowling alley charm.

New management is terrible!! I used to come here for years and have returned to the area and found this place has turned for the worse, an establishment that needs some serious attention with customer service and management. The facility has been upgraded which is great but whoever placed this 'Joel' into the management position needs to reconsider. He seems to have zero management and customer service skills that will eventually run off the customer base. Power triping over a bowling alley, apparently. I will be going to Gaithersburg or Hagerstown going forward. Sad.

The balls available are all dinged up, the alleys have too much oil on them. A little dated. Staff was friendly, good prices. They have a lot of leagues so call ahead before you go to make sure you can get a lane. We we're the only people there and they put another group right next to us, why?? Oh well.

Well it's been some years since I've bowled. It is your standard bowling alley. They don't have duckpin but they do have a lot of lanes. They have a bar and snack stand. I don't know if it's because it's been a few years but it seemed expensive. They do have some deals depending on when you are there. So check back to see when they have a good deal. Overall I had a good time and it was a nice enough place.

Our family will not be going back. I was in shock with the profanity (and border line pornographic music videos) for which the staff member called “adult rock n roll.” ...if it’s adult rock n roll, why are you playing it when half of the crowd are kids?!. The employee seemed extremely ignorant of their business’ current crowd.

Very friendly staff. My kids threw two balls so badly that they couldn't make it to the pins and they happily retrieved them without making me feel stupid. I came a few weeks ago and couldn't get in. It would have been a 30 minute wait and for two lanes together (which we wanted) maybe an hour. So we just cancelled our trip. But today only like 4 or 5 of the 36 lanes were in use. I advise calling to see if there's a large group reservation.

Kind of a mixed bag.. First time in a long time for me to bowl, had a new ball to try out, from a few years back I thought they took good care of their lanes, so I wanted to try it here... They push the "tip" thing" and for me.. I find it odd to pay a tip for an experience I have not had yet.. 2) They put me in an "adult" area and I guess since I did not tip on the outset, they put a group of kids from 4yrs old and up next to me.. so it ruined my experience there.. it was a Monday morning, 11:50'ish.. not many people in the alleys, kids were more in the middle lanes, adult players on the ends... I was on lane 6.. They put the 7 kids and 2 adults on 8.. So the whole 2nd game sucked.. For me anyway, the kids I am sure where having a blast.. Listen, well I go back to this lanes, no.. Though they are well taken care of.. There are others around.. I work in Baltimore, I can always bowl in leagues there, since that is my intent, to find a place with good lanes and staff as well as a good pro-shop.. Wish this would have worked out better..

Took the kids because the website implied it was open bowl time. When we arrived, we were told we could bowl for 20 minutes because leagues were about to start. Associate was rather rude about it. Establishment was clean and lanes operated flawlessly.

The staff lacks professional courtesy. They are not willing to accommodate their clientele without some type of grumbling or elitist demeanor. The lanes have been hazardous during each of the three times I've been here . It is imperative that they apply their janitorial protocol. The staff members at the front desk display a tendency to operate without much knowledge of the sport, and the operating vendors within their establishment. The "bartender", however, was great. He knows who's with who and what everyone has been drinking. As far as play goes, the lanes themselves were very fun to play on! I loved the action between the ball and the lane. The leagues I run will remain in Columbia, and forest hill. As a paying customer, I would suggest paying the extra money per game elsewhere.

Took the family there for a night of bowling. We a good time and the lanes were in great shape. However, the service at the snack bar was slow. It took way too long to get an order of nachos and fries. That's food that's easy to make.

A great way to have fun with family and friends. Price is reasonable, we had the 2-hour lane with shoe rental which was approximately $50. Staff was friendly and restrooms are clean.

I would never give my money to this place and i suggest that no one else does either. My friend was attacked by a man there over the weekend. There were witnesses and video camera footage to back up what happened. She just got an email saying she's not allowed back on the property. SHE got punished for trying to defend herself. Victim blaming at its finest. I suggest no one gives this place and this disgusting manager any of their money. What a horrible way to deal with something so serious. Also reviews on FB were turned off so no one can find out about what happened but thanks to yelp you can't take these down.

We made reservations the day before, but when we arrived they said we were not on the list. They then offered to put us on an hour and 45 minute waiting list, but made no other effort to rectify the issue. Their attitude towards us was totally unnecessary when we requested answers as to how our reservation was lost. They will never get future business from me or anyone I know.

Last saturday night I was assaulted within the bowling alley. I had three eyewitnesses and camera footage. Although I was a female attacked by a male open play bowler as well as an avid playing league member I have been given a no trespass letter. After 12 years of no problems I’m sad it’s had to come to this out of spite and a personal from the new management. I will be pursuing legal action. Anyone who knows me as a bowler and former employer or who was there would understand that this is ridiculous. #boycottterracelanes #victimblaming

I dont know what the heck has happened to this place recently but my daughter was physically attacked by a man while bowling in her league and she was the one who was banned. This is somewhere she has frequented for over a decade (and actually was employed by) and somewhere she used to be able to take her children into. I would not recommend any woman go here.

A good place for a birthday party, we were able to reserve two lanes for two hours at a reasonable price. We were able to bring the birthday cake into the bowling alley which was an added benefit to our celebration . The staff handled all of our concerns. We have been back a couple other afternoons. Good time.

I reserved 2 lanes for a group of 11 people for a Saturday night. The alley has a retro feel to it that is kind of cool, but the actual bowling screens and machines are really upgraded. They were by far the best bowling screens I have ever come across. One of our lanes broke once or twice but we were always able to just reset the lane and it would fix itself. It never got to the point where we had to get staff. I also loved that they had beer! I was with friends so we had a great time just drinking and bowling. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because when I reserved the lanes they told me it would be $55 per lane for a special. When we actually got to the alley, it was $65 per lane.
