I used to come to Black Cat a lot to bowl and get ice cream or pizza with my parents when I was little. Setting aside that this place was a huge part of my childhood, they're a good place to bowl with your family and play a couple arcade games. They have a good basic pizza recipe and yummy ice cream. I can't say anything about the bar, though, I've never been in there. I'm kinda underage. Great place, though!

Pizza was really good. Needed to get some lunch for colleagues for a working lunch and this place was nearest and recommended by people local to area. Pizza was done about 5 minutes later than specified. The pizza was very good but the crust in the center was a little soggy. We got the EBA and all meat pizza and everyone like both. Lots of good toppings. Just beware, they offered to put styrofoam plates and napkins with the order which I said "great thanks" then when i paid realized i was charged $1 for each setting and at 12 people that was a bit expensive considering the price for a 14" pizza and that I got 4 of them.

Amazing place. My friends no I always ride our bikes there and get ice cream in the summer, a bite to eat, or go bowling at their remodeled bowling ally. Definitely good food. I suggest the grilled chicken Caesar wrap or cheese pizza thin crust! The only bad thing is that service is kind of slow at certain times.

Service on how long I waited for food was a little better but very short staffed. Most of the time 1 bartender covering everything busy weekend, New Carlisle Home Town Days. Ordered a chocolate ice cream cone NO CHOCOLATE AGAIN last time it took about 3 weeks before they had any chocolate. Been going other places in New Carlisle area, LaPorte, Michigan City, Valparaiso, New Buffalo, and South Bend.

I used to live in New Carlisle and the Black Cats was a favorite hangout 40 years ago, and coming back for a visit....the place is still a nice place for food and drinks. Amazing pizza and ice cream, not to mention incredible XL donuts right around the corner. A must when you're in town.

This was a great activity to do during winter vacation with our kids. We were in town visiting family and needed something active for our kids to do during the cold weather. This was a small but clean facility--only 6 lanes, which was perfect for keeping track of our two year old. The service was a bit slow, as there was only one person working both the bowling alley side and the bar. They also didn't have all of the shoe sizes we needed for our youngest kids. You pay per hour for each lane. We were able to bowl one game in an hour with two adults and 3 kids.

Food is so so and pizza is expensive. 16$ for a large is expensive. Service has gotten worse. Actually to be honest it has never been good. They would not give me my soda for the family feast. Lady claimed that they don’t carry 2 liters anymore and would not honor the menu that’s online and also on Facebook. Both menus claim to come with soda. If you want your soda then be prepared for an argument that ends without you getting soda. But hey.....”Support your local business!!!!”

Getting really tired of spending $30.00 on garbage and crappy service. If you go in its a hit and miss if you get what you ordered or even all of what you order. You phone in and are told 30 to 35 minutes your lucky to get it in an hour or more. Then its excuses and attitude. The only thing thats been consistent is the chicken strips my grandson always orders. Order a large pizza and half of its not there cause it looks like a football or worse. Or has hugh black bubbles or almost no pizza sauce. Pork tenderloin cooked so hard you can hardly bite it. There is one person in there that can actually make a good pizza. If I knew which one it was I would order only when that person is there.

Black Cat has been serving New Carlisle, Indiana for years... They are a family owned local pub with a family friendly restaurant, ice cream parlor, and soon to be a bowling alley again. They serve up great food, whether your dinning in, eating at the bar, or just grabbing dinner at their convenient pick-up window. Best known for unique pizza, chicken cordon bleu, hamburgers and of coarse ice cream.

We go to black cat quite often. Normally it's okay. But we always end up with our food not being right or waiting the longest time for drink refills. Even though the place is very small so they can obviously see you need a refill. We just ordered carry out yesterday for the last time. My husband tried ordering wings but the woman was getting so confused on the phone. Then she said you could only order an odd number. My husband wanted 8 wings BBQ and the other garlic. She didn't understand what he was saying. I wanted a hamburger basket with fries. And she couldn't understand that I wanted my hamburger with things on it like pickles and ketchup and what not. We received almost an hour later, 25 chicken legs, not wings, and all of them were burned. I also received a hamburger basket with 15 fries in it and a bun and a piece of meat. Nothing else. My husband paid quite a bit for this meal and this was what we got? Needless to say we will NEVER go back to black cat again because of the wait staff and the food.

They have the best pizza but sometimes the service sucks but sometimes it's good it just depends on the day and some of the meals are pricey but it's always worth it cuz it's good

I took my two cousins and kids to bowl and eat pizza. Bowling was great. Pizza was great. Price was expensive. For a pitcher of pop it was $7. The service was absolutely terrible. My wife and I each waited at different times for someone to come to the desk to wait on us. They would walk in and out of the kitchen and just stare at us and keep on walking. We shouldn’t have to say excuse me. When you see a customer standing at the desk it’s more than likely they would like some assistance. I said excuse me to a gentleman for a to go container and he said give me a second, I waited and he never showed up. My wife ended up going outside where they serve ice cream to ring a bell just to get a to go container. Also while we were there are pizza was ready and they couldn’t even bring it to the table it was left on the counter for us to pick up. But the table sitting by us ordered food and there food was served to them. Bottom line the customer service at black cat sucks.
