This place is not for people who want a normal bowling experience. No oil on the lanes (which by looking at the comments is intentional) and almost no emphasis on actual bowling. The approaches were filthy (dust, dirt, and dead bugs on our lane) so I wouldn't recommend using your own equipment at all here. Clearly the focus in this "bowling alley" is on everything but bowling. Lesson learned. Not going back ever.

You can't separate the checks for each customer, nor could the waitress figure out how to provide the package we ordered for everyone in the party... Service was not that great, it took 30 minutes for a drink to be delivered. Then they go ahead and tell us that we can leave an extra gratuity on top of what is already charged? No thanks.. . We're good.

A good place to hangout and get something to eat. The lane we were at had to reset Wich got us a free game. The pizza we ordered wasn't the greatest the fries were better than the pizza l. They don't clean their bowling floors so it's not slippery, you also don't need to rent bowling shoes.

I have never bowled anywhwere where there is no oil at all. I put my equipment down and threw a house ball only for it to whip violently lol after 2 mins i asked for a refund and was told it was a novelty bowling alley and they don't do refunds. If i qas told this upfront i woukd have never even threw a frame. What a joke

I came here the other day. The hours said open until Midnight. At 10:45 PM the workers started turning off all of the tv’s and everything and legitimately started taking our bowling balls while we were playing. He got a little attitude when i told him we were still playing and to stop. The 2-3 workers were just sitting there watching us play and made it so awkward that we left at 11 without even playing one of the games we still had paid for. I’ve worked in the industry and i understand if you’re not busy you’re not really making money but these people choose their professions. After this experience i will never return. Try Madison Bowl; a lot better experience.

Have not been bowling in decades and didn't even expect to go bowling during my night out. During our after dinner walk noticed Axis from the street. It was really fun ! It's bowling with a twist. It's not your grandparents bowling alley of the past. They play modern relevant music at a level were you still can carry on a conversation but offers inspiration while you wait your turn. The entire alley is lit with LED/Neon lighting offering an interesting 'modern' atmosphere. The games are fully computerized so you don't have to worry about keeping score. They offer a full bar and you can order food while you play. The food can be described best as bar type food .. sandwiches & burgers etc. You could make it dinner if you were in the mood. If you are looking for something different to do, an after dinner activity, or a family friendly venue then I definitely recommend !

My drink was also didn't taste right, and I tried to have it replaced but because there was only one bartender I was overlooked. The bowling area itself is kinda cramped, and there was not enough of a bowling ball selection. Our lane kept breaking down, causing ~15mins of downtime in our 1-hour time slot. We weren't reimbursed any time. Seems like an OK spot to stop by on your way out to the bars, but if you want to bowl there are better options.

We went to the aquarium and happened upon the bowling alley that had $10 bowling plus lunch. I had a turkey club which was actually a pretty good sandwich. My husband had a buffalo chicken slider. For bowling, shoes and lunch I thought it was a good deal.

The business I own hosted our summer company fun event here in June and we had the best time. The pricing was very competitive, the staff (especially Tony the bartender) was great - super helpful, friendly and accommodating - and the space was fantastic. We had private bowling lanes, our own pool tables, and a special outside patio area. The food was delicious and no one had to wait for a drink. We'll definitely be back next year.

It's good for what you'll pay... I wasn't super impressed with the staff or facilities. The place is conveniently located for a night on the levee, but I wouldn't choose to spend my entire night there otherwise.

You pay by the hour and you can only buy one hour at a time. I guess that's to keep business moving and let as many customers bowl as possible, but it's not the ideal if you're looking to spend the night bowling. Seating areas on the lanes were also more cramped than a normal alley. The rest of the bar was very open and had plenty of games (e.g. pool, foosball, bucket pong, etc.) to play while you wait.

Quite a decent place. Went there with a couple of friends to have some beer and bowling. The beer options are quite limited. We also got some cheese fries which were good. The bowling alley was quite fine. Although there was a lack of variety in terms of balls available to bowl with most of them being on the heavy side. Overall, a decent place to hang out if you really want to bowl. For beers, there are so many other options in the Levee itself.

For months and months my coworkers talked up this place. Not big on having a drink at a bowling alley instead of a regular old bar but finally gave it a chance --only to be severely disappointed! You can tell management hires based on looks and not on intelligence. Which is sad.. because the woman behind the bar was clearly past her prime.. and still couldn't handle a simple drink order. Will definitely not be back.

Pros: 1. Good location 2. Food quantities are large. 3. Tvs are large and well located (so we could watch the Reds game) Cons: 1. It took 10 minutes to get any attention in an empty place 2. The alleys don't work well. The reset button doesn't work, the score keeper goofed once, the lane jammed several times. 3. The person working deleted 2 bowlers before they finished their game (8th frame) 4. Lanes are so dark you can't see the aiming arrows Overall I think it might time for this place to move on...

A bit crowed when we went. So they mace have been under staffed. Poor chef guy was running ragged but friendly and chipper. Lady at the counter a bit dingy and not very helpful. Waitress was great but needed help just because the place was so crowded not that she did a bad job.

Went bowling with friends this past Saturday, sounded like a good idea at the time. First of all: there was only one bartender on a Saturday night! She was so busy that her service was horrible because she was overtasked. I applaud her for being able to even get us drinks at all. Second: I could only find one 8lb ball that I graciously shared between my bff and the lady in the lane next to us, which is ridiculous. Not everyone needs to be slinging around 12lbs all night. Thirdly: I stepped outside because it was ungodly hot in there, walked back in only to slip and fall on my hip. No employee came to help or check on me. I went down HARD! I have a softball-sized knot on my thigh because this place didn't have the damn sense to put out a rug on a rainy day. I'm lucky I went hip/thigh first, I could've been SERIOUSLY injured. You’re lucky I’m a healthy young woman! Someone else probably wouldn’t have taken that fall as well as I did. Lastly: pay by the hour?! Why can't you pay by the game? That's rather greedy and quite frankly just a little tacky.

Came here with my friends and we were told we had to wait 30-40 minutes for a lane and they would call us when one opened. We came back after an hour and they told us to go to a lane which was occupied by 3 of their employees just sitting and talking while they ate. They told us we could have the lane but left their mess and didn't clean it until we said something. And when we did they told us that it's because we "kinda just barged in." All in all the service was very poor, no wonder this place has terrible reviews. Worst part is that my kid sister didn't get to enjoy her birthday party. Never coming back.

Went here with some friends for a date night. My boyfriend and I have never been to Axis even though we’ve been to the Levee multiple times. When we got there its was over and hour and half wait for our group to bowl so we decided to get some drinks while we waited. I drink signature drinks and cocktails only personally and what I got was good and surprisingly their pricing wasn’t the worst. One thing I’ll have to say is I was very frustrated and annoyed by how loud the music all of a sudden got, by that I mean we were all sitting at the bar close to one another and the music was at a moderate level then all of a sudden it was blaring so much that the speakers muffled the music and it wasn’t clear anymore it was so bad that we couldn’t even hear each other and had to scream even though we were less than arms length to each other. When we politely asked them to turn it down they were very rude about it and outright refused “because it was the weekend”. We also seemed to have bad luck that night with our lane because we had issues with the pins more times than one. Also,the people who were in the lane next to us kept using our balls even though at some point we went and got more and they continued doing it. Other than that they’re pretty pricy even though you’re getting all the bells and whistles. The place where we personally go is similar in price but less flashy and more secluded/less wait time. And even it has a full bar.

Not bad, but clearly apathetic. If a customer is waiting, acknowledge them. "I'll be with you shortly" goes a long way. 3 working at the bar (two talking to each other, only a few customers who all had drinks), one ringing something for a long time, saw me, none acknowledged me (for like 3-4 full minutes, no exaggerating). Felt a little like they were doing me a favor once I got waited on... Otherwise really good experience!

So we rented 4 lanes and one didn't work. The balls are a bit worn from use and the lanes are pretty bare very little oil. Food was good the service was ok. But I would say the overall experience was good everyone seemed to enjoy them selves and that's what matters.

They literally don't wax their lanes. Ever. They told me that they don't. So if you throw a hook, the ball goes straight for the gutter. How does a bowling alley just opt out of waxing the lanes? That's like a golf course that doesn't mow the fairways. I don't get it. The atmosphere was great.

Went there last weekend. Got in late paid 48 for 3 people to bowl for an hour which was fine but the Lane was not working, finally moved us to a different lane which did not work and move us again. Also, I've never been to a bowling alley where they give you the option of bowling shoes or wear your street shoes. Terrible place to bowl.

Went there last night for some drinks and bowling and the bartender didnt even acknowledge we were there for at least 15 minutes!! Worst service ever!! One bad apple ruins the whole place. Omar is the worst. This is the most ridiculous service I think we've ever had. He was too busy taking shots with friends that he couldn't even acknowledge that we were there. Dont waste your time here, this joke of a business will never get our money again. The bartender would rather party behind the bar and ignore guests. Seriously, one bad person ruins the whole experience. Finally got out overpriced drinks too after waiting 15 minutes after he was done drinking. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!

Karen and Jeff are excellent workers, every time I come in I’m always welcomed I never have to wait more then 5 minutes for a drink. I’m always here twice a week maybe more. Kyle the busser always brings my food out with all the right utensils. I have to say axis alley is a great place to hang out at with friends.

The lanes are awful. I assume they are just way too greased, i usually throw a nice curve and here it gets halfway and immediately cuts to the left gutter, almost lile the lane is curved. The waitress was pretty bitchy and their balls are extremely old and worn out, won't return and recommend this place to no one.

Nice looking bowling alley (from the outside at least). I went there yesterday with a couple of friends. In case you're unaware, Axis Alley's hours are advertised 11:30am - 12:00am on Wednesdays. We arrived at 11:05pm. The doors were locked and they had closed. I understand wanting to close early. I really do. But if you're advertising that you're open until midnight, I don't think that closing 55 minutes early is acceptable. I refuse to try bowling here again.

DO NOT GO HERE. It is $10 per person to bowl for just an hour. The music is terrible and way too loud. It is lit like a jersey shore club. And forget about drinking here. $11.00 for a pitcher of skunked bud light. We had eight people wanting to bowl and they wanted to put us all on one lane. Lanes which are not oiled nor maintained. Save your money and your time. Go elsewhere. Anywhere else.

Expensive and the lane didn't work properly. We had to wait over an hour to get a lane, and the one we got didn't work properly. It kept resetting at the start of a player's turn with pins missing or knocked down. This was not a one time occurance. Happened at least six times. For $10 a person at any other lane would've gotten us at least two games, but not here...

Overall showable bowling experience. place looks nice on the outside however is somewhat run down. Also extremely overpriced due to the location without the services backing it. not recommend people to use with bowling alley unless already in Newport and looking for something to do

It's a nice bowling alley, We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not really busy, enjoyed my time here with friends. The bowling balls are pretty old but apart from that the lanes are good and well maintained, the place is very clean and staff is friendly.

Drink selection was mediocre, and the lane didn't function correctly. It repeatedly set zero pins at the start of a player's turn. Keep in mind you'll pay twice as much and wait three times as long as the average bowling alley. Definitely not coming back or recommending to anyone

This is not a great place for bowling. Lanes are below average condition. Bowling balls are awful. Likely more of a drinking place. Not so good for families.

Sat at the bar on a Friday night, very slow and the bartender asked me what drink I wanted but never brought it. Thanks Omar! Chatting with your friend was more important than a good tip

This place is a complete mess! We just had Office Party here and it was so poorly managed. 3 lanes broke within first few minutes and there was no one available to fix it. There were 2 parties going on with only 2 people managing all - food, drinks and managing the whole floor including managing lanes and walk-in customers. I asked to speak to the manager twice - manager was MIA. For a prime location they have they don’t know how to mange the business complete waste!

If I could give this place two negative stars I would. My wife and I came here last weekend for the first time. We had a great time last weekend, so we decided to come back for drinks and bowling again tonight. Not exactly the same experience we had last week. The bartender Ohmar was completely obliterated. After we ordered our drinks from him he just stood there looking like he was going to fall over on his face. He even forgot he took our drink order and left us standing there for quite some time. Luckily for us, the woman that was working last weekend came over and made our drinks. Seriously though, this may have been the drunkest bartender we have ever seen. Quite entertaining I must add!

Great atmosphere but not great if you are trying to get to know someone due to the noise level. Great food and I wish the margarita was frozen but overall not too bad.

No air conditioning and asked them to turn it on and they wouldn't. Everyone was dripping with sweat, not enjoyable.
