The day I went was 2 dollar Tuesday and me and my friend had such a blast playing a few rounds. The staff were very accommodating and very welcoming to everyone. We may have been very poor bowlers but it was wonderful active environment and everyone seemed to be having fun.

Top to bottom this is a great bowling alley. The staff is professional and welcoming to league bowlers and walkins alike. The new snack bar can't be beat by any other lanes in the state. And the pro shop is fantastic, taking the time with new bowlers like myself asking a ton of questions. A great family owned business. Thanks for all the hard work.

This is the best bowling alley by far I always go here for camp and with my family the people are nice they aren't pushy or rude so I don't understand how people are saying that. Anyways I would recommend this to my friends. Also you should add costumer wifi that doesn't require a password.

Fun bowling, at a massive facility. Bar has $4-5 beers, or slightly better deals for buckets of 4 beers at a time. There are often deals available for rentals/games either on their website or on Groupon (be sure to check!). Downside is that music is dependent on other customers paying for the "jukebox'.

Yes! we had fun. We went in early hours on Saturday. Ambience was great and peaceful. I thank owner for accepting two Groupon vouchers back to back. It was our first visit there with family and friends. All had fun.

The staff were extremely rude to me and my friends. Not acomadating at ALL. I asked a few questions and they were upset that I was asking them a simple question. They also prevented us from using a Groupon that they provide despite us following all the stipulations of the coupon. Will NEVER return to this establishment.

I haven't bowled in 35 years. I went with my wife on a Tuesday for something to do and had a great time! The place is modern, clean and has friendly staff! Two dollar games on Tuesdays are a great bargain. I see my wife and I becoming regulars there!

Bowling is the best bargain in town. Callahan's has a full service pro shop and a great bar. Lanes and ball return etc.. are always in fine working order. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

I've been coming here for many years. Over that time this alley has really improved! The amount of renovation that has been done is amazing. From the flat screen tvs, to the easy to use sign in screens, and the new carpets and wood, this alley has really become amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to going bowling in the area. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great!

The guy behind the counter was rude, both before we started bowling and after. When we were given the option to do hourly and I asked a question he was a complete jerk. He was the taller, more bald gentlemen that was working on Saturday 3.23.2019. I realize now why, 4 people with bowlers on both sides of us, can't possibly play more than 3 games in the 2 hours he pushed on us. We paid 100 for 12 games. Had we paid the $6 a game, it would have been $72 + $8 for 2 pairs of shoes. Then when we went back to return shoes and get our shoes back, we told him the incorrect lane by 1 number, instead of helping us, his response was that lane just started it couldn't possibly be that lane. Then turned to the lady next to us and said, what can I do for you. In todays day and age, I was surprised to have someone who works with the public, being so rude. I will find a more friendlier place to spend my money. If I could give less that 1 star for his attitude, i would have.

Bowls are all at the lanes, and they make you give them one of your shoes along with the charge for show rentals. Plus you are stuck sharing a dual space to bowl. It wasn't enjoyable.

Bowling is always fun, but this place lacks a lot. The signage is really old. They have the old system of bumpers so bumpers are either up or down for the lane they whole time you play. The food is also really gross. All heat and eat junk. They had a lot of people there, so it must be popular. They should just reinvest some of their money and update.

This bowling alley is ok. It is always packed which is cool. They have updated lanes with touch screen controls and animations. The bumpers didn't go up like they should have when opted. However other than that it was a good alley. The food selection was a bit pricey for what you got. However Joey garlics is just down the road!!

First time there figured we try a new lane besides our own. We definitely won't be coming back first it was way to hot I asked to turn fan on and the one unfriendly guy said ok waited and waited still nothing had to ask again to someone else and he turned on second, our ball got stuck and we push the service call on the tablet and watched as the time we paid for was still ticking as we still waited 4 min in I for up to desk and the same rude ass guy says o that doesn't tell us nothing its like callin for waitress she isn't gonna know. So he had to go to back to get ball return you would think they have someone in the back so as time is ticking he gets ball and he never said he would extend the time that ticked away cause of the tablet service call button doesn't work then us goin to desk then him getting ball. we were so pissed by then we all just left. first and last time for us and definitely wouldn't recommend. Plus the guys all behind counter all looked miserable

A hidden gem for family fun at Newington. The bowling lanes are well maintained with new score display boards. Has a small bar with a good spread for those who would like to enjoy the sport bar - prices are very competitive. Great place (safe) for families as well as youngsters. Corn dog were nice ! Staff is super courteous. Don’t get deceived by the look from outside - a definite place to check out over the weekends. Look out for deals on Groupon

I had a good experience with day time management but night management was not friendly at all. Online it says it’s open till 2am but closes down before midnight. At least update your times online that you closed down at midnight. This place was reliable but not anymore. I can’t trust this place with their timing online. Plus they need better manager on duty at night time.

Website wasn't clear it was per game, PER PERSON. When we asked about it, the owner threw a fit, pointed at papers he printed out that did say that, and said we weren't welcome there. Which is no problem for us, plenty of better bowling places with better management and more. They could have handled that way better. Either a refund or discount, or even an apology and promise to fix the website would have been better. Other than that, the bowling Plaza itself is fairly decent, good tech. We did have fun, so if you don't mind atrocious customer service these guys are okay.

My mom wanted to go bowling for her 54th bday. The people who work here were very rude and wouldn't assist my mom's party guest which consisted of her 4 children and 9 grandchildren. We were the only black family in the establishment at the time.

As far as bowling alleys go this place is great. The lanes are all well kept and look new. The electronic scoring is great. Bumpers pop right out of the floor for the kids. Staff is friendly.

I enjoy bowling with a league here each week. The snack bar has pretty good food at good prices. The bar has an impressive beer selection and the prices can't be beat for the area. They also offer fun diversions like trivia and karaoke!

Every time we've gone the shorter man has been nothing but nasty and rude. My sibling lost a few dollars to the gamer machine and he rudely told him not my problem kid. Denied the same kid bumpers next time we went because aparently he was too old. So instead we paid for him to be frustrated because all he really got was gutter balls.

This used to be a great place to go and have fun. Now its too expensive and it feels like everything is micro managed. We couldnt even sit down last night at an empty table. We also used to be able to play and pay per game per person. Now you have to pay for an amount of time. Another thing is you cant even enter your own names in the TV scoring system. Wheres the fun in being micromanaged?

The service was nice at the shoe counter and the guy at the snack counter was really friendly, helpful, and let us know when our food would be all ready. Ordered a burger and corn dogs with a soda and they were great. The burger wasn't as good as what I've had at other places though. Bowling was fun too, I got a turkey there, and so were the arcade games, like the Aliens shooting game and Walking Dead pinball machine. One thing I kinda don't like about it is how the arcade games spread out all over the place, why not just have it in one spot like Spare Time once did? Oh well, the games are still fun. I'm definitely heading back to this place if I can.

Alleys were nice. Variety of balls to choose from. We went with a groupon and had a few more rounds left to finish when our timer ran out. Asked them how much it would be to finish, they said $10/minute per person. So we just left without finishing.

Not a bad place at all. The bowling and arcade area are clean. There is no smoking inside which is awesome. The bar only allows 1 beer per person, per trip to the bar, which is quite annoying. Service was good although it does get busy. Bowling balls are showing their age but are still usable. I've been here probably 5 times in the last 2 years. It's the best of the alleys in the area.

Bowled here for years, friends with all the wonderful staff. The lanes themselves they keep in great condition, with great oil patterns, and great looking pins. The pro shop does a great job too, with Fred keeping the place filled with laughter, and hours of pure bowling talk. Overall great quality and experience everytime I go there, ever since I was a kid. Best alley in CT.

It was quite expensive to bowl here and they did not have a good selection of lower weight bowling balls for kids. I don’t recommend coming here if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. It was $4.50 per person per game. I have never paid more than $10 per game before. It should not be a charge per person. It was also 3.50$ per pair of bowling shoes, which wouldn’t have been bad if the games weren’t so expensive. These prices are accurate. They are directly off the paper that I was given when we went there. And also it took us about an hour to finish a game with three people bowling, one of which was a first time bowler. So, if we had payed the $7/hour per person instead we would have almost spent double the amount. I do not know how much other bowling places charge in the area, but in my opinion it is still too expensive.

It was Leauge night which means half the lanes were used for a competition, so it was very crowded and fun! At 10pm, they end it and turn the music on. Lots of fun! Food is a 4/5, which is great for a bowling alley

This is an ok bowling alley. We used a Groupon which was a great price but the food was horrible and overcooked. The lady who cooked the food also had a nasty attitude. The tables for the bowling lanes were sticky.

The staff at Callahan's are awesome. They really take care of their league bowlers, and strive to give everyone that walks in the door a great experience. The food at Bubba's Grill, their new snack bar, is high quality and very tasty. Best snack bar food at any alley in CT. The pro shop is yet another reason why this Alley is my go to place. The bowling alley itself is nice and big. A little less flashy than more corporate places but fun nonetheless. The customer service is where this place is lacking. The guy who gave us shoes was rude and short with us. We shrugged it off and just decided to have fun anyways. We played two rounds and then we all decided we wanted to play a round with bumpers since none of us could really bowl well. My friend and I approached the counter to ask for bumpers and before we even opened our mouths to speak the guy rudely said "no" my friend said "excuse me? Sorry we were just wondering if we could have bumpers on our lane?" The guy again just rudely said no again with no further explanation. We sat back down and waited for another employee to go up to the desk. We asked him if bumpers weren't allowed or if this guy just didn't want to pull them up. He explained nicely that they had an age limit on the bumpers. Which is fine. The other guy eyeballed us the rest of the time we were there and was just generally rude.

They treat their bowling shoes like people actually want to steal them. Like the shoes are their children and they are extremely over protective parents. It was annoying. Bowling was fun though. Try out some of the different game modes

Fun for the whole family. Lots of families. It was hard to find balls because groups didn't return balls or hogged them all. Come to think of it...we didn't return our balls either because we just used what was on our rack and gave others to the people in the jane next to us. Fun score keeping system! Must use Groupon for exact number of members (4 not 3).
