REVIEWS OF Highland Park Bowl IN California

Vincent Hoey

Awesome spot for a night out and drinks. Highland Park has definitely developed over the years and a bunch of bars have started to pop up. I'm from Lincoln Heights which is a neighborhood nearby and growing up there was nothing here. It's crazy to see a night life aspect to this area and is definitely a great way to change it up from your usual spots! I came here on a Friday night with a few friends and this place is huge. You can choose to bowl, lounge around the bar area, or go into a room where a live band is playing music and you can dance. The drinks were reasonable priced and they have 2 bars. There was also a pizza oven so I believe they serve food here too. Overall, definitely will be back!

Alejandro Sánchez Puche

Great pizza and drinks.. Bowling is a bit expensive but the place looks awesome.

ben og

It really is as good as I wanted it to be. Friendly staff, good drinks, clean environment, fun atmosphere.

Peter Franssen

The coolest low riders show was going on.

Jan Mallory

This is a great looking place! Not your father's bowling alley--or perhaps that's just what it is. The bowl features a grand vintage look with a bar and booths. Even if you don't bowl it is worth peeking in to soak up the ambience. Some have complained that it is noisy. Well, it is a bowling alley! If you are looking for a cozy club atmosphere, then perhaps this is not your style. I thought it was major cool.

Anubhav Bhatia

Quaint bowling alley with 8 lanes. Lots of fun for groups, although can get very busy on weekends. The food and beverage service is a little pricy, but that's to be expected.

Hayley Williams

Beautiful building and interesting old school bowling alley mechanics. We originally had a 2hr wait for the lane to be available, but after we went for dinner and drinks (elsewhere) our lane was good to go about 25mins early. It took a while to be noticed or served for booze (even after hasseling twice for attention), so within the hour we only got one drink in. Apart from that, I'd recommend you check it out, but I wouldn't rush to go again when in LA next.

Filipp A

Gimmick of a bowling alley but a cool spot to hang. If you want a serious bowling session this is not a place for you.

Luis Huyopa

Great place very unique love the way everything is

Paul Charouhas

A really fun place to bowl, eat, play or see live music, and enjoy great, old architecture. The pizza is excellent! You can get both red and white pizzas. Just give yourself plenty of time to find parking somewhere nearby!

Emily Campbell

Great happy hour drinks and food. Beautiful space.

mark scharaga

A place from yesterday with old time bowling alley and good food. Drinks are well made and reasonable. Great place to do a birthday or friend get together.

Sav Bessief

Loved the interior design of the place. Customer service is so so. Really bummed that they are booked days in advance and charge $20 extra for phone reservations.

Adriana Martinez

Pretty cool spot to hang out!!! Really cool vibe

Thomas Kotcheff

Expensive, but a really cool place to hang, have a great drink, eat pizza, and bowl

Stephen Harvey

Very nicely done retro style bowling alley. Not many lanes but the atmosphere is definitely a throwback to an earlier time. I didnt bowl but it looked busy and not very many lanes for the number of people there. Happy hour is until 8PM and they have a descent selection of well liquor and beer. A bonus is that it's only a few blocks from the Gold Line Highland Park metro station.

Paul d'Orléans

Lord what fun! It’s noisy in the bowling area, but two smaller bars up front are quiet, and you can eat up there too. Far better food than you’d expect of a bowling alley! The pizza is terrific and artisanal, while the decor is outstandingly cool.

Noah Valenzuela

Such a cool bowling alley, everyone is so friendly... food is great recommend the pizzas. Highly! The drinks are great atmosphere is so much fun. Deff worth the trip and to hangout there.... check it out highly recommend it.

Orlando Salinas

Great bar/venue in Highland Park area. Really liked the industrial feel of the interior. The history of the place and area on display in old bowling league banners and old photos was also great. They have live music in a room near the front entrance and bowling lanes and two big horseshoe bars as you walk in further.

Chris Escobedo

Very nice place to relax and to enjoy some great food with friends or family. The Bowling lanes are amazing I could even bring my kid to bowl and eat pizza with me. The Highland Park Bowl is the best fun place in Highland Park.

Marai Abraham

We had fun, but I would not have gone if I had to pay. Way to expensive! This is definitely a place for the younger crowd. We only went because we were invited by our neighbors for their sons birthday.

Travis Newhouse

Should be zero stars! Here’s why: 1.) Rude and derogatory door staff. 2.) Was told I couldn’t order food to go because I had my skateboard in hand? WTF? That is how a lot of people get around. Way to kill a paying customer. Not coming back until you get the door clowns straight! Also don’t threaten customers. Boo Highland Park Bowl! Don’t go here!

Allison Walton

Oldest and coolest bowling alley in LA. Such a unique place, must be experienced. Loved the atmosphere and the original equipment. Drinks and food were tasty, too! Loved the original pizza toppings choices.

william ortiz

Love, I mean absolutely LOVE the atmosphere. And most importantly, one of The Best Old Fashions you can find in town. Perfectly balanced, great service and fun vibes. Keep in mind, it is a BOWLING ALLEY, so noise is a factor. Not a spot for a quiet night. Fun, definitely, but not quite.

John Pen

The foods okay; I'm a total foodie so I wish it was something more than just French fries and pizza. But the bowling alley and bar are fantastic!

Mike Braaten

Can easily go here strictly for the ambiance although that is probably not often said about bowling alleys. The old school pin setting machines are fun to look at and the beer is reasonably priced although the movie themed cocktails are the main draw. Should have one called 'i drink your milkshake' that's actually a bloody mary.

Amanda Valenzuela

Totally loved the steampunk aesthetic at this bowling alley and bar; spending time here feels like more of an experience than a transaction. Attention is paid to so many big and small details--keep an eye out for the bowling pin tubes and see if they don't remind you of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. You can get a great view of the bar and bowling alley from the bar and the views in here are largely panoramic no matter where you sit. Service is good. Thumbs up.

Dena Greenwalt

Excellent little throw back space. It's one of or the oldest bowling ally in Los Angeles. Price can be a bit high for "bowling" but for the experance it's worth it. The food is yummy and the drink selection is great. BOMB happy hour the personal pizza and beer for $10 is a steal.

Mike Emberson

This is the coolest bowling alley I have ever been to. Take time to go here

Jhano Wickam

Great atmosphere, delicious drinks and whole lot of fun for the family

Zoran Milosavljevic

It's an interesting place I've never bowled there the food isn't bad.

Melissa Costa

Beautiful. You are paying for the ambiance but if you have a group, the pricing isn't bad. The drinks are not super high in price but I was underwhelmed with my specialty drink as far as flavor.

Xavier Coronado

Old school bowling location with great drinks! Call ahead to reserve a bowling lane. Average drink price range is at about $10/drink. My friends thought the food was good, but I didn't try. Plenty of metered parking at back and street parking all around. Great location for get togethers. Mind that some days or even nights are 21+. Old school Mr. T'S BAR is in effect off of Fig. Have a drink on me. Cheers

music overload

As someone who used go to the bowling alley since the 1960's , I was dismayed to see that it is no longet a place for children. It is just as well. I noticed that the new owners left the old crackling leaded paint above the entrance, as if it was of some kind historic significance. Who did they pay off for that, Gill Cedello?. If more people knew that there is toxic lead raining down on them , perhaps it would be removed. Toxic lead people. It is not "Hip"

Blaise Bernard

We had a blast bowling in this classic bowling alley and enjoying the cheap happy hour drinks. I hear the food is good too, but we were too busy with strikes, spares, and gutter balls to try it out. I even had a dream about this place a week or so after bowling. This place was totally great. We had so much fun here.

Erika Harris

This place is amazing!!! Looks just the way you see it in pictures! Went in on a Sunday, it wasn't so crowded. But it was just me and my boyfriend so it was a little pricey to bowl Just for me and him. The prices do change from the time of day you want to bowl and also according to what day of the week it is. Look in advance on their websites for pricing! Best bet is to bring a group to split the cost. It's not horribly expensive but it is more than a regular bowling alley. Drinks were so Good! The bartenders make each drink with passion (you can tell). Try one of their cocktails from the menu: you won't regret it!

Elaine Gregston

This place is so cool! It hasn't changed since it was a legit Speakeasy during prohibition. There's only 8 lanes which explains the steep cost of bowling, but there's also great food and amazing drinks and a live music venue! So much fun.

Joseph Tolle

This place is great for parties with great drinks. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a little expensive as a regular place to go to. I haven't been to the happy hour but you definitely paying for the ambience. Ordering food on the margins can get a little challenging when things get busy but overall it's a really great place.

J Bly

Heather is the love of my life she is so helpful, pizza is the ish and drink are to f*coming die for

Velvet Overkil

It was good for drinking and for watching various bands play. Canna attest as to the food and drinks beyond the basics can be pricy

Juan Lopez

Pricey as expected with mediocre service and decent food. A pro is that the drinks were strong.

Jonathan Thompson

Love the atmosphere and great service, but I hate to report that i witnessed one of the employees come out of the bathroom stall and he didn't wash his hands! I sat down to eat and i saw him serving food!! Yikes.....please wash your hands every time you go into the bathroom. This messed with the full experience. But still will come back to bowl and get drinks;)

M Zone

Cool place, lovely restoration. Haven't played bowling there yet, but drinks were nice!

Michael Wong

Cool bar/bowling spot

Jeremy Blake

cool venue and great atmosphere but on the expensive side

Sterling Richardson

Amazing experience, great drinks! Beautiful restoration of a true Los Angeles history.

Jennifer Lamar

Super cool spot. Live music, no cover, retro bowling with all the guts exposed :) you'll see. Bowling a bit pricy but great ambiance Wood fire pizza is excellent.

John Broderick

Very nostalgic and cool place!! Awesome burger!!

Robert Sandoval

Out of this world bowling alley! A great place just to go for dinner.

Tony Hernandez

I live in Highland Park and it's a solid place to go and have a good time. Good drinks, food, and of course, bowling alley. Karaoke Sunday seems to be fun!

Corey Polo

Really cool place! Really cheap and in a beautiful building! They have really unique drinks. The staff was super friendly and the architecture was one of a kind! The machines that rack and drop the pins were really neat! Open mechanics so you can see it work!

Rodney Reed

This place is epically awesome.

Amanda Smith

The decor of this place is amazing. The scene is very much "older-hipsters" The drinks were pricey but well made. However, I was disappointed in the actual bowling and bar aspects. My friend attempted to make reservations for a birthday party but they were booked for an entire month. I couldn't understand how this could be until I actually saw the inside. There are only 9 lanes. There are three bars but on a Saturday night, Mr. T's (a bar in a separate room from the bowling area) closed at 9 pm. There are two bars in the bowling area, one of which closed around midnight on a Saturday night. There were so many people here and such few places to sit or even get a drink from. And it's even harder to find a place to stand because staff are waving around flash lights in your face everytime a server or food runner is walking around. Again, the decor is beautiful but the layout is very poor. Bathrooms are upstairs (not accessible even though they have a wheelchair ramp), poor layout with few places to actually sit with a group of more than 4 people. I would choose any other bowling alley in LA. Positive though, there is free parking after 9 pm in the lots nearby! They are very well lit but there are also many people living in the parking lots.

Mark Boryta

Nostalgic fun brings out your best - knock 'em down!

Craig Parkinson

Fantastic venue! If you are looking for a place with a wow factor when you first enter, look no further. Be warned it’s a tad small inside so try and visit outside of peak hours. Food (namely pizza) is very tasty but a little bit expensive. Drinks are not cheap either.

Jerron Jones

Went for my coworkers birthdays and it was a fun experience. The all is amazing to look at very vintage looking

Tulia Williams

Great Service, good food and fun ambience!

Matthew Montano

Everybody that goes and staff seems to think that they are better than the average person

Chris Chase

Gets chaotic and loud. Impossible to bowl a serious game. Food is overpriced. One and done experience.

Abdias Quintana

Great vintage looking spot

Christian H

Good food, friendly Team, a lot of fun

Coby Skye

Love the history of this place, which they showcase very well. Good food & drinks available too.

Lizabeth Umeda

Nice, classic feel with some modernization. Love the gudetama branding! Food was pretty good and stats on the score board were a fun addition (one game turned into a speed competition). Only complaint is it gets kind of crowded/ not enough room to move around since they have couches and a table instead of chairs to wait for your turn in.

Angie Almaguer

Nice vintage bowling alley. Great for a date night!

Brandon H

Amazing ambiance. Slightly pricey to bowel but they have a great weekday pricing.

Jared Hardy

Slow service on over-priced lanes for hipsters. Poor old bar-flies were pushed away long ago.

Ackermann CPA

Great atmosphere and drinks. Pizza is delicious!

Gino Nunez

Fun and interesting with burlesque dancers

Double E CPU

Great drinks, vibe, bowling... Too many awesome things to list

Rennato Flores

I have seen the transformation this place has taken over the years and all I can say is WOW!, will be back to party here AGAIN.

hbomb2579 Thaman

Good vibe, ok beer selection. The bartender was snooty & sassy, but that's ok, I put her in her place

Anthony Ortiz

The architecture in that place is great. You can see the essence of what highland Park use to be. A lot of history in that bowling alley. There is a separate area for local band shows. The pizza is a must to get , pretty delicious. Decent beer list and they also do cocktails.

Riley Gunnar

Harassment by The Bouncer he made my Fiance Cry!!!! And Ruined a friends Birthday party so a party of 9 had to leave due to Completely Un Civil Staff!!!! Its Unfortunate Cuz all our friends enjoy coming to this local establishment regularly . But don't feel comfortable coming back anymore

Didier Dorga

Great atmosphere, cool retro items, nice pizza from the wood-fired ovens.

Nakia Black

One of fave Hangouts and places for The Sound Station to play.

Kasey Orthmann

My favorite bowling alley I've ever been to! A beautifully-rebuilt bowling alley with two bars, a full-service kitchen, incredible ambience and awesome decorations. I've been on multiple occasions, including birthdays and dates, and they accommodate everything in between. My last time was about half an hour wait on a Friday night at 7pm. Rates are a bit steep depending on the day of the week but it's well worth it and the service is top-notch.

Carlos Pietro

Super nice place and the service the best

Anayeli Villeraldo

Stopped by recently and had a blast. The vintage decor and architecture was amazing. I would recommend this place for a group as well . The bar was pretty busy . The customer service was great . There are about 8 lanes. If you are in the area stop by. I had so much fun I totally forgot to take pictures

Marco Zamora

Beautiful rustic bowling alley. It only an hour reservation and on busy days you would have to rotate but i assume that it's less busy on the week days.

Evee Flor

drinks are good just to play is expensive. its overpriced. but u can also just hang out and look at all .the vintage bowling memorabilia is cool

Rebecca Balnis

Craft cocktails, bowling and $5 pizzas on happy hour.

s. b.

We had a blast bowling in this classic bowling alley and enjoying the cheap happy hour drinks. I hear the food is good too, but we were too busy with strikes, spares, and gutter balls to try it out. I even had a dream about this place a week or so after bowling, so you know its gotta be good!

Katie Lynn

Cool, rustic space great for events and can accommodate large parties. The food/drink were definitely the best I’ve had at a bowling alley! Parking in the back is free after 9pm.

Tony Estrada

Great retro interior, good pizza, but limited lanes, and pricey drinks

Toru Okada

cool vibe but the beer selection wasn't great

Ms Barber

Awesome drinks, vintage atmosphere, love that is one of the oldest bowling alley in LA.

Kim Melby

Unusual, beautiful, bowling alley. Awesome place to visit whether you bowl or not.

Jean Edwards

Awesome old school bowling

Parth Shah

Sweet place. Super crowded.

Morgan Olivia Newton

Best bowling and really good pizza and homemade ginger beer. Best to put your name in early on the weekends, it’s a madhouse.

Aaron Michael

Amazing. Awesome aesthetic. Will return. Fun. Great for groups.

Adrienne Schlatter

Awesome place. Anytime I have friends visiting we come here. I love the atmosphere. If you have a big group bowling is fun. It’s very pricy but it’s worth it. They serve you at your lane. The pizza deal for $5 is amazing, especially since the Liza is cooked in stone oven. They have live music now too. And burlesque dancers on weekends. I recommend this place highly!

Jordan Bell

Great happy hour before 9 and good misic

Ramon Smeets

This bowling alley is AWESOME. Ok so this review may be a tiny bit biased because I am a huge fan of the Netflix show 'Love' and they shot an episode here in season 3. So for me it was even more amazing to be able to go bowling in the same place where my shot my favorite show... But nonetheless this place is super cool. Great atmosphere, awesome service, good vibes and also tasty and affordable food. Highly recommended!

Mysha Oveson

What a unique and fun place!! There are two locations within the building, one more quiet location where there was an open mic night happening and the other location where the bowling alleys were! A little something for everyone.

Stephen Collins

Very cool place, high tech bowling screens with lots of data while everything looks vintage. Bring your ID if you're coming in the evening. The pizza crust is delicious. It's very chewy, almost like a sour dough. They have vegan cheese too.

Miles Abernathy

A real old-time bowling alley. Definitely worth a visit!

cool place & good space

IF YOU ACTUALLY BOWL DO NOT GO HERE!!!!This place looks great. Really had the vintage old school vibe.which was great. But You WILL be insanely disappointed. Lanes are not kept at all, supper upset at how much I paid to experience this place only to not be able to actually play, sure I played about 3 games but I couldn’t use any of my balls on these lanes, they are BONE DRY!!!! even a plastic ball would dig in too much. The approach is half the size of a regular approach due to the couches covering half of it, the ball returns chew up your balls, and overall just a not well kept place as far as the lanes go, save yourself the money and disappointment, and just hit your local Brunswick or AMF you’ll have more fun actually being able to play the lanes. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

c.o. thomas

Cute vintage feeling bowling spot with great drinks, chill bar tenders, and lost of LA history.

C M

So cool to bowl at.

Louis Eguaras

Great place for friends, family and coworkers to hang out and have fun! Great food and drinks! Great service! Love the history behind HPBowl! Check it out!

L Lacko

I'm not the first to laud this place. But their pizza is delicious, their meatballs are YUMMY!!! And the caesar didn't disappoint either. But beware: it is relatively fresh anchovie in the dressing. The place is gorgeous.

HAMBONE ENTERTAINMENT

Awesome venue!!! Had a great time at a company party!!

Brian Downing

Beautiful, big space with lots of drink and food options.

Conor Hughes

Had a great time here. We bowled for two hours! Great atmosphere and drinks. Staff could be a bit more attentive at serving the lanes as I had to go to bar a few times to get drinks as there was never a server around.

victor terrones

What a surprise! You would of never thought there was a bowling alley like this! The décor and the history really makes you appreciate the sport and it makes it more enjoyable. The good is delicious, they have pizzas, salads and more. They have a great Brunch food and drink menu. Eggs Benedict is a must. The lanes are so cool, old school meets modern. Check out the pics. A bit pricey but it's worth it.

Catherine A. Montgomery

An upscale hip happening place in Highland Park that was refurbished to its original design: high ceilings, wrought iron chandeliers and wood floors. Bowling here is little expensive, and there is usually a wait on weekends. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance if you have an appetite for something else. Alcohol served here, cocktail bars on both sides of bowling area, and lounge facing street. Additionally food is served - casual dining of wood fired pizza and burgers; expensive bar food. There is also small stage for live performances; schedule (and souvenirs) are at the info booth on right right after you enter. Children are permitted during day, but generally not in evening because alcohol is served. Check website for more specific information.

Kit Shields

Oh yeah, I love this place. The Ambiance is great and you don't even have to bowl. I've only bowled a couple times and I didn't pay for it but I want a bowl soon it's just kind of expensive. But the drinks are super good they have a really nice cider and the burrata Pizza is incredible

Nick Sauer

Highland Park Bowl is a cool blast from the past. With the exception of the computerized scoring system, they've done a fantastic job preserving the aura of a great old business. It's a little on the expensive side and they only have 8 lanes, but I wished I lived closer to come back and check out their weekly events (Friday burlesque?!). The entire surrounding mini downtown area is becoming a hipster enclave of good food and interesting spots.

Eric Cassar

This place is awesome, even if you're not really into bowling. If you are a fan of vintage old-timey decor, definitely give this place a shot. Burlesque show, karaoke, great layout, I'll be back here for sure!

Stephen O'Bryan

This is a very hip place in Highland Park. If you are looking for a true “LA Experience” then do yourself a favor and play some 10 pin here. I’m not promising that you’ll see any celebrities but you’ll meet some really cool people at the front door, the kitchen that serves yummy pizza, the two full bars and just everyone who works at the bowling lane. Understand that this is not your normal bowling lane. In my humble opinion it feels like it should be in the next blade runner. It’s definitely vintage but has a steampunk feel. I love the overstuffed couches on the lanes and the cozy seats on the second level that allows you to people watch and see the pins fly!

Daniel Porter Brown

Great food ambiance and decor. If you want to have a fun night out in LA's oldest bowling alley this is the place to go

Sean Webner

I am from Tucson AZ, and went to Highland Park Bowl with a bunch of family as everyone was in town for a wedding. It was unbelievable!! The atmoshpere was fun and inviting, the service was great, and the food was excellent!! I felt like I couldn't stop eating! I highly reccomend you at least check them out, its definitely worth the experience!!

Gregory Mercado

Unique spot to social drink bowl. A must in Huntington park

Roy Johnson

Great place for pizza, beers, and bowling. Find hipster vibe with a historic atmosphere.

Sam Jay

Have you ever had your nipple pinched in a passionate and lustful moment of companionship? Perhaps an old flame bit your lip in a saucy kiss once and it made you think golly I'll have some more of that please. Well that's what bowling here is like. Eating here is like that too. So give it a whirl.

Scott Trulik

I went to see a friend's band play and had a great time. The bowling alley is old school and fun to watch, with the exposed machinery and inner workings.

Pete Slaga

We had a company get together. We reserved a lane and had fun bowling and eating the pizza.

Esteban

Don’t go here if you’re latino, they will treat you like the worst. Received the worst service of my life and I have never felt discriminated before, the bartender ignore us for a good 20 minutes and when we finally got him to have us our drinks he literally threw the change to us. The servers will completely ignore you if you’re not white or hipster. I won’t be going back and I highly suggest to my fellow brown people to take your businesses elsewhere, probably they don’t want us either way.

Alex Perez

Place was cool but everything was greatly over priced.

Humberto Ortega

Awesome historical place, had a great time

Johnny Agustin

This is one of the best spots to check out when in LA. Great place to have fun with your family or social group. The food is awesome, check out that black bean burger with sweet potato fries. Parking is in rear look out for those $2.50 all day parking spots since you may spend a few hours enjoying a few games, food and beautifully garnished drinks. Saturday's $25 early hourly rate is reasonable.

Ed Mendi

Great place to have a drink or catch a bowling game. Good basic food. The atmosphere is laid back and trendy. Make reservations for bowling or your wait is about an hour after 7pm.

James Culbreth

Awesome place! Great service and a lot of fun in the coolest bowling alley I've ever seen. This place has amazing character, and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

jesse skinner

The lanes are dope and the atmosphere is pretty dank. Worth a trip with friends and family.

John Sanchez

I didn't like the fact that they asked me for my credit card before we even ordered are meal. I have lived in highland Park for 39 years and I was showing friends from out of town what a great place to eat. But I don't know if I will go back. I went online to find out if it's common practice to ask for your credit card before you order. I guess some people have walked out before paying. Wow got judged because I look like I couldn't pay?

Kimberly Bucci

This is arguably a fun place to hang out. They have several different events there on weekends and plenty of different bar areas where they host them. Unfortunately, whoever the sound guy was at their country-themed event last night was an aggressive, oversized baby-man who accused my friend of bumping into the sound board, pushed her, and threw a drink on her. To be clear, someone else bumped into the sound board, but it was not my friend. Anyway, I'd steer clear of this hothead if you end up at the same event. He is tall and bulky, bald, and wears a giant cowboy hat. After arguing with this guy about his accusations and his behavior, things escalated and we were forcefully removed from the bar at baby-man's request. Not a good look to have your sound guys dumping drinks on bar patrons......

J P

Don't let this 'old school' bowling alley fool you. Too hip for it's own (or anyone else's) good, it's grossly overpriced, the bartenders are horrible, bouncers are lame, and the staff are horrible, and the lanes and balls SUCK. We paid for two hours of bowling and for the first 20 minutes our lane wouldn't work. Then they cut us off in the middle of our second game 15 min before they closed and didn't even give a warning. We we explained the situation to the same attendant, he couldn't be bothered. Then the bartender added three drinks that I didn't order to my Tab. When I told him, he shrugged and said 'I thought you ordered those'. Seriously, this is the worst bowling alley I've been to in my whole life. So lame.

Cesar Velazquez

Best classic feel bowling alley out there...nothing compares

Victor Rathbone

Great time. Best wood-fired oven pizza in L.A. Great drinks, great IPA selection. Simply great times.

Ryan Tiedgen

Must see historic L.A. spot that's also FUN. You cant really describe without over doing it, so just go. Not for bowling snobs looking for great lanes. It's all just as neat up as it should be after 100 yrs wear and tear. But the guys/gals that brought this back to life are brilliant. The architecture and the decor is amazing to see. The food is actually really good, I recommend the burger. And they have real-deal cocktails, a good beer selection, and the service all around is great. Never met an employee that wasnt positive and bringing a good vibe. Bowling rules, and this is a dream for old school ambience. Please go, have just have fun. Immerse in bowling awesomeness.

Brian Kucaj

Absolutely love this place so cool

Shel D

Fantastic place if you want to chill, hangout, have good food / drinks and get a burlesque show on Friday nights. We came here with a big group for a birthday and everyone had a blast. We had made reservations before hand so we'll be secure with a big group. We walked in and the vibe was so cool. That old, rusty, Greece movie vibes. I loved it! They even have a little window that looks over to the kitchen and the wood oven pizza area. So of course after we settled into our lane we ordered a few pizzas. I ordered a vegan one since I'm on lent. We also ordered a few truffle fries and sweet potato fries. Bowling here was so fun! You feel like you've teleported into the '60s or the '70s. The workers are so amazingly chill and friendly. After a short while our food came out and my oh my. My vegan pizza was so delicious! I couldn't stop eating. Comes 10:00pm and the burlesque show starts. It was short yet very entertaining. It got everyone up and having fun. Everyone was so happy with their food and drinks. And over all everyone was happy we spent our Friday night here. We'll for sure go back for more events.

YERON Lee

Good vibe good service

Fabian, A Rivera

Highland Park has changed a lot that 's new place, new peaples new business, beautiful Historic Highland Park...

Darrell Shaffer

Amazing atmosphere with exposed mechanics! Watching the pin stacker and ball return is mezmerizing. The pizza is really good...better than you expect for a bowling alley and on par with dedicated brick oven pizzerias. Only thing negative is parking can be tricky

Edward

If you want some classy bowling alley, this is your go to place. It's a little bit pricey but it's a luxury you have to pay for. They have expensive packages but if you are a group, it is something to look into.

Joe Ramirez

Pizza and a beer. Really appreciate the time and effort made to re-establish this place.

Michael de Guzman

Fun little place. Expect a wait for bowling on the weekend though.

Ethan Allen

Cool vintage bowling venue. The place is huge. Place has like 4 bars and an awesome brick over pizza oven. Pizza is rad.

Omar Olaofe

Loved the "old school " 1920s look of the place they've kept up. Great place for hanging out

Deeya Loram

This is a historic treasure of a place, beautiful and inspiring.

Nellie Gonzales

Read a bunch of great reviews about this place before I went and it really is just as great as everyone says it is! Its really "old school" and the food was great! I will definitely be going back!

transported back to the 1930's when people still wore the fred mertz Golden Gloves long sleeve, this place is legit.

Classic place. Little pricey but nice!

Very unique vintage bowling alley with at least 4 bar areas and good pizza. Worth trip to Highland Park!

Getting lanes can be challenging but if you're here for the atmosphere it's worth a visit.

A fabulous atmosphere and great place to hang with friends!! Food is pretty good, too!

They missed the prosciutto on my 'za which is the main reason i ordered the pizza. Kinda bummed and the bartender took care of me but otherwise the spot is awesome and cool

Very Rude Disrespectful Security!!!!!!!!!! We came in a party of 9 for a friend's Birthday and 7 friends were already inside, I approached the door with my friend and the Security Gaurd not even Checking our ID's he says my friend can't come in cuz he's in toxicated. I say he's fine then the Security says I can't come in cuz I'm with him. I have no phone to tell my party I'm outside in the cold having to pee and I can't even use the restroom, the Security Guard refuses to even get my party until I basically beg him in years to get my party so I can leave cuz I didn't drive. The Older Security Gaurd was very Disrespectful to me and needs to be replaced with respectable individual who knows how to do a proper civil service. He threatened police as well cuz I'm waiting for my party outside until realize what's taking me so long to get in. So unnecessary and a waste of an officers time to do your job. Instead of being greedy and letting my party spend money in your establishment while I wait helpless outside getting threatened and treated like an animal. Worst Birthday Experience Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun place to visit. Friendly staff and we enjoyed the bowling. My suggestion is that the renovate the bowling lanes and interior for the antique look.

Highland Park bowl is the place to be if you want $70 game of bowling on a Saturday night. I would argue that the lanes could be taken better care of. There are multiple bars and a banging arugula pizza. Yes it's a bit pricey, but there's tons of fun to be had and the building has a ton of history.

Pretty place. Artistic restoration of an old classic, they did a beautiful job. Had fun, but way expensive for a night out. Can only bowl for one hour when it's busy, because there are only about 8 lanes. Food/drink was great. Can be Hard to find parking nearby.

So glad that the demolition ball did I get to this place. Beautifully restored Bowling Hall from the olden days.
