I've had my haircut here twice now. Really happy with the result both times. $28 for a men's haircut is a good price point in an area that have a lot of upscale "gentlemen's" salons and bargain cut places. Staff is extremely friendly, atmosphere is rad, and they offer you a beer before each haircut!

The place has very little to no concept of timeliness. You have to call in on the day you want your hair cut and see if they can reserve a spot for you. That time slot is just a suggestion - you will have to wait and wait. So thats that

This place way overbooks, and does NOT RESPECT your time. As other's have mentioned, the appointment time is just a suggestion. The offer for beer or water is not free, but rather a tacit admission that they are going to waste your time!!!

Immediate service on a holiday weekend. Philip was fast and efficient and I appreciated his expertise with clippers. I brought in a photo and he prompted me through a few questions to get me the cut I had in my mind. 5/5 - would grow hair and get it cut again.

My sister recommended this place to me. I’ve always had long thick hair and $45 for a cut, style, wash is not bad at all around this town. I love the vibe of this place as it has an Austin swag to it & well I love Austin. They’ll give you a complimentary beer while you wait which is always a plus.

I've been here a couple of times. It's the only location here in Houston and the only Bird's outside of Austin where there are a couple . Men's haircut start at $25. The times I've been here I've had a good experience. My first time was great. I'm someone who dreads getting a haircut; it's been like that since childhood when I experienced a traumatic event. I have the tendency to wait a few months before getting a haircut again. So I've always been cautious about the place I go because I don't want a bad haircut. So when I come here I was very happy with the experience and my haircut. Tray made am effort to understand what I wanted and offered suggestions when I asked. I like stylist that offer help and advice. He was very nice . I've been with Phillip who was also nice and good. I try to come here when I possibly can. I suggest going and trying it out.

She is so meticulous and that’s what makes her the best. I have never had a barber go over and over to make sure the line is perfect. She gained a client for life!!! So if y’all want the best haircut in Houston come to the one and only Jolie Trahan.

My husband went to this barbershop to have his hair cut this weekend . It‘s probably one of the worst haircuts he ever had. The hair is not even and the hair cut was badly executed and he felt like the hairdresser rushed through the cut. Not worth the $$$.

Just moved to Houston and thought I would try them out. I will never go back. I asked for a high and tight fade, received a 10 minute buzz cut on the side, and a patchy top that is VERY noticably uneven. Im really not exaggerating when I say that the quality of haircut I received is that of a $3 hair salon. You'd be better off asking your mom to cut your hair

Hard to get a consistent good haircut. Most recently I asked for a simple buzzcut and fade. The barber had trouble understanding what I wanted even with a picture. The cut was very rushed and left a bunch of stray hairs up. Actually went to another shop to get it fixed up. The only person I would actually go back to is Phillip, which was not the person above.

Overpriced and mediocre (at best) haircut. Don't let the hip decor and beer fool you. I asked for a cut and they couldn't use a razor because they werent actually barber's. Then she gave me an uneven 5 minute taperfade and charged me 30 bucks. Nope. The actual cut quality is like a supercuts or a great clips. Sad to say but true. Pass.

Great place, great haircuts. Lots of different barbers, feels like there is always a new Barber/hair dresser there. The free beer you get while your waiting is a nice touch. Prices are average, if you have short easy hair to work with you could get a cheaper cut elsewhere but the experience may not be as good.

It was my first time going. Fair Pricing and complimentary beer. It is a very nice place but I can’t say I was completely satisfied with my haircut. At first it seemed nice but then when I took a closer look in the mirror at it wasn’t very nice. The guy who’s name I can’t remember didn’t fade the back of my head and Sides well enough... I was disappointed.. my friends pointed it out to me. Honestly I could’ve gone to a great clips that would’ve done a better job than what he did to my head.

I asked for a taper fade and the person cutting my hair seemed nice and it felt like they knew what they were doing until another person had to step in and finish the cut. The other person tried to pass a patch in my hair as a scar but I’ve had a lot of cuts before and there’s never been a scar before. The cut was also not what I wanted, I asked for a taper fade from double zero to the length that I already had and now most of my hair is gone and now resembles an undercut. I Will not be coming back. The staff was very friendly, and held good conversation. My only complaint is the quality of the work as well as the price. Men’s cut is $25.

Horrible 3 min haircut! Barber only knew how to use clipper guards, left multiple lines on top and in back, I have about 40-50 stray hairs that are longer than the rest on top of my head. Extremely rushed! I'm sorry but Super Cuts does better than this. This is a lie to call it a barber shop! UPDATE.. I went back in and they set me up with a different barber that cleaned it up. Tray was him name and he was really good. However I question still how this other "barber" is working there. If you can't do clipper cuts then why are you working in a Barber shop? Everyone always has their favorite barber but I should be able to go into a shop and get a decent cut from anyone...

This is my go to place for a haircut. I've had several different stylists cut my hair and if always been happy with the cut. The staff is all very nice and conversational. The interior is bright and clean and they'll serve you a beer while you wait if that's your thing. I also love the convenient Heights location.

I highly recommend going elsewhere for a children’s haircut- Beware of Lorena especially. We thought we’d upgrade from the typical “Cool cuts” type place for my 7 year old. Lorena was aggressive from the get go and moaned as soon as she saw my son. Poor kid was in tears the whole time-well to be fair, it was only a few minutes before she refused to go on because my kid was quietly tearful- not moving, wiggling, or making a scene. While he does have a sensitive head, her lack of compassion and outright aggression towards him for it was sad. He already dreads haircuts and was mortified by having to leave the salon with a partial haircut. Bye Bye Birds...

Our son's curly hair can be a challenge for some but it wasn't the case here. I called ahead to explain that we needed a stylist with experience cutting my son's hair type. So, they scheduled us with Tray and we hoped for the best. He is a superb stylist! We are so happy with his cut. Most importantly, our son is stoked about his new do. Tray will listen to your concerns and will deliver the cut you expect. No surprises. He also trimmed my husband's beard. Needless to say, he now has 2 new clients!

Bird's seems hit and miss depending on the barber you get assigned to. I feel like there should be more consistency for the price being paid. I have also had trouble with getting bumped or having to wait even when I have an appointment. For $30 for a basic haircut, I just expect more and the free beer doesn't really cover it.

I would not recommend coming here. The person cut my hair really screwed me. They went rogue and use the thinning sheers. Now my hair just sticks up like a Porky Pine. It’s been three weeks and Now I just have to keep waiting into grows back out. This place was that a decent price point and they did have beer which was nice.

The haircut was fine (it was a buzz cut so not an amazing amount of difficulty there). However, the beard trim, which I never asked for, was complete trash. Extremely low quality. The offering of the free beer (which I was never offered) mentioned in other reviews actually makes complete sense, as you would have to be drunk to accept the quality of work.
