Edgar was amazing. I’m visiting from flagstaff AZ, and the barbers are not nearly as amazing and as talented as that gentleman right there. I went in with a disaster of a hair cut and came out with a masterpiece. He provided me with advice on how to maintain my new hair and style. I told Edger I always wear hats because I hate my hair. He took his time with me and examined my gargantuas head and told me what he thought looked best. He was right!! I’m super happy and can’t wait to not wear hats all the time. Really nice staff. A standard haircut gives you a neck shave with a straight razor, a shampoo and conditioner, and a hot towel on your face. You really feel like a new man afterwards. They also have beer while you wait. A tad expensive, but worth it.

I appreciate them being involved in the reviews, but don't like they said they would do something and did not follow through. Downgraded from 2 to a 1 star. I’ve never had someone cut my hair in under an hour, they did a shave and a cut in 30 and it shows (not a good thing). Neckline was crooked. Hair at odd lengths. Everything looked ok (not great) but fine after the cut. But as it grew out it’s clear this cut was not a keeper. I can usually go two months between cuts but it’s only a few weeks and I’m already looking at an appointment somewhere else. One thing that stood out is my barber made a comment about needing a Starbucks with another barber. I wish they had gone, gotten a drink and come back. I still would have had time left over in my 60 min slot that I paid for and then maybe they would have been more awake. The decor was very nice and the people really friendly but I’m not happy with the end product.

They did an excellent job. I used to go to Finley's a lot but I moved to Riverside and the nearest Finley's is a bit aways. I was driving by and noticed this barbershop and it looked awesome. I came in for a beard trim with straight razor detailing and they blew my expectations. This place is definitely on par with Finley's and I will probably start going here now given that it's so much closer to my new apartment.

Barbons is not just a haircut, it is an experience. Everyone who works there is very nice and hospitable. I felt so welcomed and taken care of when I checked in. The inside of the place is very swanky. And of course they have your option of beer or coffee while you wait. Last but not least, my haircut was amazing. Courtney cut my hair and did an incredible job. Definitely the best haircut in Austin! They have skills, hospitality, atmosphere and a unique experience.

I walked in on fri morning around 10:15am. There was literally not one customer in the shop and they refused to see me. I made an appointment for the following day, sat, and then had to wait about 20 min before being seen. The shop is a little pretentious, but the guy was good. They have a sign that says if you miss your appointment, they'll charge your credit card, which is worse than my Dr.

I've only been in Austin for 2 months and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else in town to get my beard trimmed. I went to one other barber for my first trim in town and he completely butchered my neckline. I saw Ethan while he was wearing a "support your local barbers" shirt and the very next day I was able to get into see him. I don't think anyone else would have been able to fix it as well as he did. I've been going back almost weekly since then. Ethan takes pride in his work and is very meticulous. You can be assured that while you are in his chair he pays attention to every little detail of your hair, looking at it from all angles to make sure everything looks right. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Austin

Barbon’s Barbershop is the BEST IN TOWN! I’ve been going to this barbershop since it opened and I am always impressed with the quality of service and their special attention to customers. There has never been a time when I’ve walked in and not been instantly greeted and offered a complimentary drink. Even my nine-year-old son is now hooked on getting his hair cut at Barbon’s and no where else. When I ask what are his favorite things about Barbon’s he says two things, the shampoo and the cool towels. I have to agree! Barbon’s not only provides excellent customer service and consistency, they support many worthy causes in Austin, including my own charity. For that I am very thankful and appreciative of their donations. Congratulations on your great success and thank you for providing Austin with such an awesome place to temporarily get away, relax and enjoy a great haircut and shave. I am your number one fan!

The haircut was done well as the barber listened to how I wanted it done. She did a straight razor cut on my neck and a pseudo massage with a hand massager which I can do without. The cut ended with a hot towel on my face then a shampoo. I can do without that as well. I wish I was given the option to do without it for a price break. They charge $40 which $10 or $11 more than Birds / Texas Barber Service or Floyd's which do not include the shampoo treatment but the other things they do include. I'm not sure the extra $10/$11 is worth the shampoo treatment although I think I liked the overall experience better at Barbon's. Hmmm, we'll see how I feel when it's time for my next cut about where to go.

This review is from my husband, who's not really a social media guy and asked me to post his review. :) I was getting married and in need of someone to cut and style my hair and beard for the day of. After some research, I settled on Barbon’s Barbershop and was not disappointed. I made a reservation to see Sarita and upon arriving, I was impressed with the cleanliness and style of the establishment. There was no wait, and Sarita was very gracious and kind, offering me and those who accompanied me drinks (they serve beer there). Once seated, I told her that it was my wedding day, and we discussed what I wanted. She assured me she’d have me finished with time so I wouldn’t be late to my own wedding. The full service involved a hair trim, beard trim, warm towel on my face before lining up my beard, a hair wash with shampoo and conditioner where she massaged my scalp, a shoulder and neck massage, and finally she styled my hair. All of this while constantly making sure I was getting what I wanted, in a relaxed atmosphere (good music playing in the background), and under an hour. If I lived in Austin (destination wedding) I would be visiting her more often. Otherwise, I couldn’t recommend her any more. If you want a great place with attentive service, go to Barbon’s.

If you are looking for a straight razor shave, but are worried because you have sensitive skin, this is the place for you. I have a terrible time shaving my neck, and so I typically don't, but I just got a straight razor shave here and no razor burn!

I had an excellent experience a week or so ago with Sarita. I have moved quite frequently the last decade due to military and other employment; finally landed in Central Texas and I plan on staying in God's country for good! Well, that preface was for the fact that I've had many haircuts from many different barbers in many different places. My experience at Barbon's was the icing on the cake. I say that because for the price of a haircut ($35) you get a beverage (never tried Zilker IPA until Barbons - amazing), shampoo/scalp massage, and most importantly an awesome haircut. I wouldn't even waste my money on searching for another barber after stumbling upon Barbon's. Let me caveat by saying I live about an hour north of Austin but I would still make the drive once a month. I am definitely happy I found this place and would urge anyone looking for a good haircut and/or shave to give this place a shot. Clean, good location relative to downtown, awesome shop decor, tasty beverages, hot towels, and 10 out of 10 haircut - nothing more I could ask for. Also, I read the previous comment about having difficulty scheduling and I have to mention that I downloaded the scheduling app and was able to make my first appointment; cancel that appointment (due to time constraints) and reschedule for a same day appointment in a matter of minutes. I'm not sure what the issue is but my experience was too easy and preferred over calling.

Sarita gave a great hair cut at Barbons and has a great team around her. The barbershop has cool Austin vibes, provides a high level of service, and is somewhere I will definitely go back to. Alcohol served here if you want to get boozy before your haircut.

As a guy with long hair, I've had a lot of trouble with barbershops in the past, but I chose to give Barbon's a chance after a friend referred me. I was happily surprised by the friendly & professional workers as well as the interesting decor. It almost felt like I had stepped into a stylish pub which I could be forgiven for since it does have a bar with complimentary beer while you wait. The host, Anna, quickly greeted me when I entered and was friendly yet efficient while I checked in for my appointment. My barber, Ethan, did an amazing job cleaning up my hair and provided great conversation throughout the experience. I will definitely return to this shop soon.

I stumbled upon this spot a little over a year ago, a little desperate since my barber at the time abandoned me without telling me (if you know you know). Every time I walk in, Sarita and them always make me feel welcomed and at home. Can’t beat a good haircut, shampoo, convo AND a beer! The cut is efficient without being rushed, and it’s in a solid part of town, with bars and restaurants just a block away, so you can make getting fresh part of your happy hour.

Support your local business! This is by far the best Barbershop I have been to since living in Austin, and I have tried them all - literally. Same price as the other spots but you get a drink, shampoo, neck trim, and massage. Can't get that for the same price anywhere. I am super picky when it comes to getting my hair cut (because I have a peanut head and big ears :), so when I found this spot I felt I needed to spread the word. I have been going since they opened and have no plans to let anyone else touch these red lochs except this crew. Whole staff is great and they are good at their jobs. The owner is awesome and the atmosphere is perfect. Like, I want to have my next birthday there. She will pour you a drink while you wait and make sure that you have a nice tight fade when you leave. Highly suggest you check it out.

I’m new to Austin and left my barber a five hour drive away in the RGV. I used to live in Corpus Christi and would plan tips down to the Valley with visits to the barber shop in mind so as you can tell, I’m pretty particular about my hair and beard. I did a little bit of research and found Barbon’s in the downtown Austin area. I got married this past weekend and hadn’t gotten a haircut in over a month before that specifically because I wasn’t going to just roll the dice when it came to my hair and beard. Anyway, I scheduled an appointment at Barbon’s for a beard trim and haircut the day before the wedding. I was a bit anxious because there would be no backup plan if things went sideways. I got in at 10 AM and landed in Edgar’s chair. Edgar was attentive to my requests and took time before getting started to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted done. He made a few suggestions as to what he could do that I hadn’t specifically mentioned. He wasn’t pushy about it and they were honestly great ideas I just hadn’t considered. He didn’t even mind when I got picky toward the end about small details (or if he did, he didn’t let it show). An hour and a few hot towels later, he was done and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the result. Edgar so was good that I didn’t even mind his bad singing as he snipped away. Jokes aside, I would recommend this shop to anyone who is finicky about their hair and beard. Granted, they are a bit pricey but in this case, you get what you pay for. I looked sharp on my wedding day and already have my next visit scheduled for November. I may bounce around chairs at their shop just for fun, but I would definitely be good with Edgar as my go-to barber here in Austin. Top-notch.

The staff is friendly, and very welcoming. Unfortunately, their haircuts are not good. The issue with the barbers at Barbon is that they don't seem to know how to measure the length of a cut (e.g. 1/2 inch off). In my experience with barbers that don't know how to measure a cut, before they go in with the scissors, what they'll do is pinch the ends of your hair and ask you if this much is ok? And they'll move their fingers up or down depending if you want more or less. At Barbon they don't even do that. They just start cutting away, and as a result your hair ends up being way shorter than what you wanted. In one occasion I specifically told the barber not to cut on top, but she did anyways. Definitely not worth the $35.

This place is the real deal. Just like the barber shops I remember going to when I was a kid growing up in San Antonio. Killer haircuts and shaves with all the fixings: hot towels, straight razor shaves, shampoo and scalp massages, hot foam, the works! Not only do you get a great haircut, you walk out of there relaxed and ready to face the day... looking really good. The place has an old school and beautifully elegant decor, the staff is incredibly friendly and the service is as top notch as it gets. I LOVE the booking system. I get online, book an appointment with my FAVORITE barber and done. I get text reminders on the appointment and it’s easy. I love the location. I love how it’s locally owned. I love this place and am a regular customer.
