Never a long wait and always happy with our son's haircut ! Cash only though
This place is excellent. Great environment. And talented employees. I came in for a quick cut around lunch time.... My hair was a mess Rocko sat me down quick and gave me an fantastic and precise trim/detail and hard part. Both the beard and clean up was only 20 bucks. Can't beat that. I will for sure be back and I would highly recommend stopping by for a cut.
Great barber shop. Get my best cuts here.
Been getting cut here for 6 years and won't go anywhere else.
Got a good shave twice I’ve been there and though a bit pricey in my book, the location makes it easier.
Great group of guys who know what they're doing. I often get compliments on my clean lines and kempt appearance thanks to their attention to detail. They have done excellent work on my beard as well, including shaping, lines and meticulous blending. The atmosphere is enjoyable. Everyone seems relaxed and they joke around, which puts me in a better mood as a customer. I look forward to getting my hair cut now, thanks to the experiences I've had here.
Charged me to much for a less than average cut for the third time I'm done
Been going here for over a year and always been happy with the haircuts- my barber Ché is a talented dude. He is great with the razor cuts and crazy designs but nice on the old-school stuff I like, too. The shop is always very busy with a lively atmosphere- music, conversation, etc. I bring my young sons here for cuts and to let them glimpse the world of barbershop culture and men's grooming. I don't give 5 stars to anyone, and this place is solid, the barbers are all good, chill, and professional. If you want a salon, go somewhere else. This is a barbershop.
They know how to cut
Chuck just gave me the worst hair cut I've had in the past 10 years. Way to go Chuck maybe you should let the customer see what you're doing while you're doing it instead of winging and thinking you have an idea.
Good barbers and great haircuts!!!
Reasonably priced and quick service
I don't know why the hours read what they read when the only times I've been there, they've closed a half hour early because the barbers wanted to get home. Pretty poor customer service in my opinion.
Great barbershop
My son always goes here and has no trouble very child friendly
over look the bad reviews every shop has em due to attracting bad employees.this place is awesome!
I'll never go here again. I got a shapeup, was charged $24 for it to begin with. Needless to say, this overpriced shapeup didn't even involve a barbers straight razor to line up my cut? instead, this person proceeded to literally line me up with just a buzz shaver (sorry I don't know all the correct terms) and instead of leaving his attitude at the door, he decided to slice into my head while lining me up. I noticed about 10 minutes after my cut that I have a literal cut that stretches across my entire forehead, and cuts in some parts on the back of my head. And no it's not a cut that comes from getting a shapeup or any kind of haircut from a barber. Trust me, I've had my hair cut by plenty of different barbers, and have literally only had my skin cut/sliced one time prior to this. The fact that they rushed my entire cut, charged me $24 for it, cut my skin in more than one place, and was so frustrated at something so minuscule they had to take it out on a customer? Makes me not want to go here ever again. I'd say that if you are getting your hair cut here, then pay attention to which barber you choose, some are clearly MUCH more skilled and actually leave their stupid problems at home, that's the only positive thing I'd say. Tread softly here.
Great haircut every time. Not rushed like some other places. Cash only.
The worst place too get a fade my son went twice both tomes they sucked had to take him to a another Barber to fix his hair
Quick service, great atmosphere and amazing cuts.
Great place with great people! Benito, thanks for the cut. I came in to town on business with a bad need for a cut. Could not be happier. Out of towners, trust this shop. Thanks Fellas!
Best place to go
Great place to walk in for a cut. Plan ahead though, wait times may be long. Most barbers here are good.
Best haircut/beard trim I've ever had
I really like this Barbershop never a long wait good atmosphere. My barber of choice is Kurt he holds it down with the haircuts
The cut wasn't bad – Hell, the fade in the back is downright sexy – but it's bad for me. I shouldn't have to tell a barber or a stylist that certain cuts are a no-no. I hardly have any knowledge of cutting hair save for what I hear from my sister and I know that you're supposed to soften negative features and accentuate positive ones. I have an abnormally pointy forehead. To compensate, I usually like an undercut with the front of my hairline to be asymmetrical with more volume opposite my part and towards the front and the corners of my forehead should have length and volume. That's what I made sure to explain since my usual barber was out-of-town, and that's about as precise a rundown as you'll get from someone off the street. The funny part is the novice who was doing my hair originally was doing pretty well. It was the experienced barber who took over at some point and completely disregarded anything I had said earlier. By the time I realized he was parting my hair the wrong way, it was too late. The cut was already dead-center symmetrical with the hair at the top of my forehead poofing out like a botched faux-hawk and nothing to soften it on the side. I can't even save it by working it into a pompadour because there's no volume. I wasn't expecting it to be exactly the same style and everything, but at least listen to me when I'm telling you how it's usually cut and styled.
I'm from out of town and I wanted to go to this place for a quick touch up for the back of my head because this place is highly recommended. The Yelp page of this place and Google review both say that this place is open until 10pm. I walked to the barber shop at 8:30pm and the doors were locked with a paper sign to indicate that they were closed at 9. They had somebody in a chair getting work done. When I was trying to speak with the people, they were making fun of me through the glass. If you're going to change your hours, then update it online. And as a professional courtesy, don't mock potential customers. If I could given place 0 stars, I would have.
Girl Kim hook me up with a sick shave in design!! Took almost 2 hours but it was because she paid attention to detail and went over everything with a straight razor.. not a razor pen!! And those are the real barber techniques that matter!! Kim u rocked it and I def will be back to get hooked up again girl!!
I've never had so much attention paid to my hair before
Nice cut every time I go
Don't even go over there! He charged 25 for bear and hair cut. He talk tooo much. If U have an accents or look different he treat u diffrent.i felt so sad. He didn't do what I ask. Remember u get $25 doing nothing.
Great cuts, people, and atmosphere-highly recommended. Plan on waiting awhile, but the product is worth the wait.
Went into get my beard trimmed( I specified only the ends). The " barber " proceeds to use an electric razor, takes a chunk out out of my neckline and tapered my beard before I can stop him. (I couldn't see how much he took off till he spun me). I had to go to another shop to get fixed , as they left it uneven as well. If you have a long beard, Do Not go here. They ruined 3 years of beard growth.
Kim, thanks for the great cut. Customer for life.
Always fresh
Great barber shop. All of the barbers always do an excellent job. There is a fun atmosphere in there as well. Great in the summer when they open the shop windows up. I've seen them do all kinds of hair types and styles so without a doubt, anything you want done they'll be able to help you out.
Both Cameron and Kim hooked me up with a clean cut
Skills are on point, ask for Kurt 1st Chair always has a wait since he knows how to make the details matter, go early in the day since they get busy late nights and on weekends. Best barbershop in the Burgh!
Don’t believe the hours. They will close early on a whim. Went 40 minutes before close for a non complicated 1 cut. Glad you closed. I’ll paid someone else less and give the rest as tip. More than $17 for a clean 1 or 0 is steep.
Only place I trust with my son's hair. Husband loves it too. Can be 1.5hr wait on Saturdays so get an appointment.
Do not let anyone shave you - they will cut you!
COMPLETELY ignored everything I said about how I wanted my hair cut. You're lucky if you get out of there in an hour and a half. They somehow think that they deserve a bigger tip by taking as long as they possibly can to cut your hair. Just going to Borics next time...cheaper, 1/4 the time to get a cut, and they listen.
My regular place for the last year or so. Would highly recommend if you need a good cut.
They Always do a great haircuts love this place
I wanted this place to be good so bad. Overall the quality of the cut is around a 6/10. My neck is lined up incorrectly and way too high. One side is rounded and one side is pointed. There are way better barbers in the area. I only had one of them so I can't speak for the other three.
.... So far there has always been good vibes in there..... I get a nice Cut an Trim.... Jams always on the box... Sports on the tube..... Good conversations.....
I rarely leave reviews, but this warranted it. Gee cut my hair when I was in a time crunch Sunday. My hair is thick and not easy to cut, but I never worried once bc I knew I was in good hands. Barber was knowledgeable, efficient and really took his time making sure I looked fresh before I left. Will be making this my regular spot and 100% recommend seeing my man Gee here next time you need a fade!
Great place, can't beat it.
Best spot in the Southside to get a fresh cut in my opinion, basically can do whatever you want. Cam, Craig, and Nick are wizards with the clips.
Quality: Good. Completely depends on the day you go as different Baber’s work different days. Service: Very Good. Their service is pretty normal, timing is based on first come first serve but you can call ahead for appointments. Sunday is the best day in terms of good Baber’s. Overall: Recommend. While not all the Babers there are good, it’s one of your best shots in terms of a descent cut in south side.
Love this place always a great haircut and they give Veterans discount with ID
Great place, great service, and very fair price. I am going to recommend this place to all of my friends.
Did not follow my instructions
First time going to a barber shop and Nick did a 10/10 job.
Best cuts in the area
First time going here and I got probably the best hair cut ive ever recieved. Very kind people, and great quality hair cuts. I highly reccomend stopping by.
Awesome place to get a great haircut. Found my new barbershop
South Side Barber Shop is the same owner of the Fade Factory in North Huntington and both of these shops are the BEST! The barbers are kind, attentive and great at haircuts and shaves. I have a 21 yr old son who always goes to the South Side location and I took my 4 year old here 2½ weeks ago. It was a great experience and my boys both look awesome when they get their haircuts from here! They truly take their time and are very personable with everyone but are especially great with the littler kids! Only downside, just be prepared to wait for this great service and cut because there is usually always a wait for these guys. There's an extra fee if you want to make an appointment but it's worth it! Go see the guys at South Side Barber Shop and you won't be disappointed!
Good clean cuts at a fair price, fun conversation too!
Not a great experience. This was my first time and I told the guy I wanted a high and tight and showed him a picture of what I wanted. He didn't ask any questions so I assumed he knew what I was going for. He proceeded to play music very loudly which made it hard to communicate with him. At one point, I told him I wanted it a little shorter, to which he proceeded to basically shave most of my hair off. The result was a glorified $17 buzz cut.
I have never gotten a bad cut, but still some are better than others. Go in and ask for Rachael. If you don't have an appointment the wait can be long but it's worth it.
As soon as you get used to a barber he or she is no longer around, 5 chairs yet only 2 no matter when you go are worth the wait
This was the first time I ever had my son's hair cut at this shop. The barber did an excellent job. The barber shop stays packed but the wait isn't that bad

Always call in to check when they are closing. They will close early in week days if they feel like it and also will lie to you why they are closing early for like plumbing guy had to come and we can't use water blah blah. You guys don't even use water when you cut hairs.
I can't speak on all the barbers, however Kurt is the best barber I've ever had. He is the only reason I come here, and if he were to leave and go somewhere else, I would follow him there.
Potty mouths but doesn't bother me. However sometimes it's over the top when younger kids or females are in there.
Went to get my haircut yesterday, and left with one of the best fades I've ever gotten. I wish I would've asked the dudes name, but homie with the middle part and mustache knows how to cut hair. I'll definitely be back in the future
Only about 2 good barbers rest are minuscule. Enough said
Got a good cut
Nice place. The barbers are friendly, and funny. Lots of laughs, and good atmosphere. They're a little more expensive than Borics, or Super-Cuts, but I prefer to support small business over chain stores.
If you're a man, have another man cut your hair. Don't go home looking "cute." People commonly ask where I get my hair cut. Other than the outstanding talent working here, the barbers are also fun people.
Stopped by today to get my haircut. Walked inside at 5:30 PM and one of the barbers looked at me and said we're closed. Could have sworn the website, sign, and door says business hours Sunday: 11 AM- 7 PM. Looks like the company is false advertising. Thanks I appreciate being an appreciated customer, I'll take my business else where.
I just went to South Side Barber Shop for the first time, and I don't plan on returning. I think this is a shop where it really matters which barber cuts your hair. The whole ordeal took almost an hour, the beard trim was totally not my style, but he didn't show me it until the damage was done, the cut was too short for my style of hair which makes it stick straight out, he was insanely rough and inconsiderate (I have marks all over my neck, head, and face) and he charged me $24 for it. What a joke.
The barbers time management sucks. They are open on Mondays. Been there three times in the last 6 months. The second time was much better than the first so I'm considering returning. Possibly worth a shot if your on the limb. 12/20/16 update: came in at 4 on a Tuesday had one person waiting in front of me. Got in and got out thanks to Kurt who can cut with the best of them. Highly recommend Kurt and Daunte. The rest are meh... take forever and/or not in a hurry to get people in and out... they simply just don't give a $hit about making money
Always a great cut by great people. I wish they didn't charge you to make an appointment (this may have changed).
Very professional.
Best fades in the Burgh
Nick did an awesome job. Best haircut and shave in years. Totally recommended.
Get ya hair did
