I’ve been to Blokes about 6 times. Mike cuts my hair and I really can’t say enough how awesome I feel about the service there. The first meeting I was transitioning from another barber who I saw for years so there was that awkward feeling of whether or not it was going to be good. But it was great. Mike’s a great dude, he listened to what I wanted and gave me that. He’s easy to talk to and the experience was super chill. I’ll go back to Mike at Blokes as long as I can.

The whole experience at Bloke’s is top notch! Steve is the man, while Gionna, Duke, and the rest of the team make you feel right at home. I just wish they would get a Bose boombox or something similar so that every now and again (maybe the first Friday of every month) customers could choose the music played in the shop... the jukebox only has so many songs!

Could be the best in Philadelphia. Called in the morning and they were able to fit me in. Only had to wait a few minutes. Had a complete haircut and the cost was totally reasonable. Cool building in Old City. Will be back.

The Beard trim with straight razor edging for $28 came without hot towel, hot lather, toner and cold towel or moisturized skin and beard. And wasn't a clean cut at all and looks better when i'm doing it myself.

I blame myself partly for not clarifying with the woman at the Front Desk, but here's what happened ... I walked in at 12:45PM and after waiting a few minutes someone finally came to the desk and I asked her if they took walk-ins. She said, "yes". She then looked at the scheduler and said, "is 1:30PM okay"? (At that point it's not really a "walk-in", but an "appointment".) I should have said I'd come back some other time but I said okay, I'd wait. I walked around the block, grabbed a bite to eat and came back at 1:25PM and sat on the couch ... until 1:45PM at which point the woman finally said something to me, asking if I was okay. I gave it a few more minutes but then left at 1:50PM (30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time). I'm not a difficult customer, but miscommunication at the beginning and the lack of any communication with me while I waited there is not a good way to do business. UPDATE: About an hour after posting this review the owner of Blokes called me to apologize for my experience and offer a free cut.

I like EVERYTHING about Blokes! The women at the front desk are warm, friendly and very helpful. The space is bright, clean and very welcoming. The thing I like best about Blokes...the outstanding barbers. Bridget has been cutting my hair for about 2 years. I've had many haircuts in my lifetime, but Bridget is by far my favorite barber. She's very sweet and makes me feel very comfortable, and she's super talented, precise...everything you would want in a barber. Did I mention they offer you a beer or whiskey when you walk in? Love this barber shop. Love Bridget. One more great thing about Blokes: they send a text message confirmation and then a text message reminder before your haircut. Very helpful.

Woman working up front is gorgeous !!!! And very helpful and personable. Required a hot towel shave for work the next day and was in town on business. Called several places which were full. Called this place, they were full, too, but said they could do 30 min for me for this. I raced over by 5pm, they offered me a beer and I accepted. The fella who shaved me was from the U.K., very delightful and an EXCELLENT hot towel shave. Would definitely come back in the future. GORGEOUS !

Best cut in the city... not only is Blokes an awesome establishment with a killer jukebox and free beer (or water), the barbers are top notch. My two go-to's are Duke and Stephen both give an amazing cut and also pay close attention to details. My latest trip Stephen did an excellent fade and beard trim while keeping the conversation legit and giving me styling tips so I would look topnotch every day. As soon as I walked out the door I was scooping up compliments all the way back to my place.

The very best haircut I've ever received. The service was great and I love the complementary beer option. The single reason I am giving 4 stars is due to price. With a fair tip my haircut total was $50. Not being from the city, this is a fortune for a haircut to me. There is a program however, that if you sign up to be a member you'll receive an additional 10% off. Amazing haircut. Great service. Pretty pricey.

Always have a quality haircut. The banter with the barbers is great and I always like my haircut leaving. I did get overcharged once, but they applied a credit to the next time I go in, so I'll take it. While pricey, it's definitely worth it for a good, quality, barbershop cut. The music selection is fantastic as well for getting a haircut.

Overall five star experience. From the on the house beverage when you first walk in to the finished product haircut at the end, this place justifies it's price to me. I will be going back in a few weeks. Also, the lady running the front counter gave my wife one of her older coats on our way out which I thought was a nice gesture (don't expect that one everytime lol). Super friendly and great class!

I've been here a few times with my boyfriend for his routine haircut. The staff are warm, friendly and awesome at making their clients feel welcome. They have complimentary phone chargers available, along with ice cold Lionshead beer. If you find yourself waiting, take a look around at the various items that's available for purchase. So don't let the price stop you from coming in because it's not just a haircut, but an experience.

Steven is my go to barber hands down. I moved out here from Texas after I got out of the military, and going from having one barber for years to something brand new was hard for me. I take extreme pride in my hair. After searching, I found Blokes and Steven had an opening that fit my schedule and the rest was history. I don’t even need to tell him how I want it cut, I sit down and we get right to business with our conversation where we left off last time. If you want an amazing haircut, straight razor dapper man style, Steven is that dude. I’ll never let another person touch my hair as long as I’m living here!

I had the beard trim with straight razor edging by Duke. Duke is an absolute legend! He’s a proper skilled barber and his hands are steady as a surgeon as stated by other reviews. This has by far been the best experience that I’ve had at a barber. I got more than I expected with the trim and I was well impressed by the results. It was also great conversing with Duke. I highly recommend him! I will be going back every time I need to get my beard sorted out.

After a tiring, aggravating 24 hour shift, the last thing I wanted to do was get my much-needed haircut. After finding out that my usual barber was closed for the evening, I called Blokes asking for store hours and how busy the shop was. I was told that there was an opening for a 5 o'clock haircut; being 10 til, I graciously accepted. I arrived 10 minutes late in fear that my appointment had been taken by someone next in line; instead, I was greeted by a woman who was kind and understanding. She offered to take my coat and introduced me to the owner, Duke, the man who would be cutting my hair. Duke set me down in the barber chair as I tried to explain what I had wanted done. I was having a hard time describing it but Duke knew exactly what I was looking for. The haircut couldn't have turned out better. The man cares about and takes pride in his work. He spent a another 5 minutes trimming my beard with a straight razor at NO EXTRA CHARGE! The atmosphere was perfectly lit and decorated, giving off a nice, relaxing vibe. The place had a nice classy, manly vibe to it. Duke and his staff were caring, knowledgeable, and personal. I enjoyed talking to Duke, he was extremely laid back and friendly. I left Blokes in a much better mood with a perfect haircut and trim. I recommend to any man looking for relaxing, personal, classy haircut experience.
