This Barber Shop corresponds to the category of Barber shop.
Efficient and clean. I wasn't very energetic to talk and had a lot on my mind, and the barber respected that and just focused on any of my haircut needs. I really appreciated it to all the introverted types out there! Will definitely be getting all of my haircuts here!
Great staff. Easy in and out. Fair price.
Danny's awesome so is Devin, best place that offers styled hair and a back massage after.
Cheap, quality cuts.
I love Ruby and an ice cold coke! But mostly Ruby. She is always smiling. She makes sure that my cut is always just the way I want it and takes the time to get it right. Ruby asked me if I was a veteran and offered me a veteran's discount. To be recognized at a female veteran is a rarity indeed! Fantastic experience! Walk out feeling great every time!
Won't go anywhere else or let anyone else cut my hair besides Robin, and if you've lived in the area for awhile you know Jung has been cutting hair for ever! She cut my hair at Super Cuts back in the 90s! Great atmosphere, and if you have to wait a few minutes, no problem, they have like 5 TVs on sports channels, plus a mini fridge stuffed with Pop. It's hard to find a consistent barber these days, but I'm lucky to have mine at the Barbers!
Decent haircut. This is not handicap accessible. No handicap parking, no ramp, high curb to step up onto sidewalk without any railing.
I've gone here forever or since I've been little and they haven't disappointed me yet. Also there not that spendy.
Disappointed with customer service
Worst haircut I’ve ever gotten, patchy fade, too much off the top, and not enough on the sides.
Great shop and great staff. Ask for Danny!
The girl from Hawaii cut my hair like it's never been cut before. Prime cut
Great place, love the entire staff and neck massage
See Desi for that High and Tight.
I am always pleased with the haircut that I get. I also like the popcorn and the TVs with sports on them. A friendly place
Great
Friendly, efficient, convenient and don't forget the free soda and popcorn!
Really nice people. Kind of pricy for a guy who gets a generic fade every two weeks or so. Not going to fit into my budget.
I get my hair cut exclusively at The Barbers on Sandy. The staff is fun and friendly.
Walk-ins only, they keep notes of your cuts so they recall your prefences. Free sodas and popcorn offered to patrons.
Nikki is awesome. She always does an amazing job. I will keep on going back.
Great place for a fine haircut in no time at all. Jung is my barber and does a consistently good job.
Took the time to ensure I was getting the right cut. The service wasn't rushed, the stylist ensured I was happy with the progress by asking questions throughout the cut. "The Works" is a really good deal too.
I have been here before, a couple of times. This last time I had terrible service! I sat there on a Friday evening for 50 minutes until I noticed that someone who showed after me was already sitting in a chair. I went and looked at the clipboard and three people who were below me on the list were already crossed off. I asked why I got skipped and the lady said, "Oh, you're next." I said, "No, I am going somewhere else." I have no idea why I got jumped in line and they never bothered to explain. I will not be going to any of "The Barbers" again, especially the Hollywood location.
Always a friendly staff, staff really knows how to cut your hair and offers great suggestions on styling. You just feel welcome here which is nice from the cookie cutter barber shops everywhere else. It's nice to support a local chain.
Good haircuts, friendly service. Free soda and popcorn.
Plays toward "dudes" a bit much (sports AND cartoons on the TVs, Car and Driver on the table), but there's free soda and popcorn, and a shoulder massage at the end.
I wanted to try out a new barber shop so I came to the barbers. Looked very nice and had good reviews but when I got there they said it was going to be a 30-45 minute wait, I was debating if I should have stayed or not but I ended up staying because I needed my hair cut very badly. I ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to get a decent hair cut (was not really what I asked for) I really wanted to like this place but the wait and the hair cut made me go back to my old barber shop.
Good place to get a haircut for a reasonable price, with hours that make it easy to go there.
They are great here. They are so nice, my son will now go in, tell them how he wants his hair and pay while I wait in the car :)
Got a great haircut!
Excellent place. My barber was quite knowledgeable and talked me through a new haircut, how to make it low-maintenance, and what product to use. Also free soda and popcorn, who else does that?
My favorite location to go to. They seem to have more stylists available during busy times.
Good haircut without the hipster scene. Get your fade on elsewhere.
My sons and I get a nice cut most of the time Everyone one in ten times, we notice after that it's a little sloppy. Friendly staff.
Nice staff and good cuts
Mostly went here out of convenience for past 3 years because it is close to my house. I was more or less satisfied with my haircuts until recently when they told me they no longer do clipper cuts longer than a #5 and would only do scissors. I now go to an independent barber shop on Glisan St which is both cheaper and I am much happier with the cuts.
Quick and a decent job
This is where i go to get my haircut due to the quick service and great attention to detail. I have never had any issues with this place and they give you a free soda while you wait. If you need a place to get your haircut then you can't go wrong with this place.
The only place I trust to cut my hair.
Elle gave me one of the finest cuts I've ever had, and it didnt cost me an arm or a leg.
I called and made an appointment at 1pm. I arrived right at 1 but I left at 1:30pm with no haircut. They shouldn't pretend to take appointments! They still only take you in the same order as if you had walked in. And that if you're lucky - at least two people who came in after me got their haircut before. Waste. Of. Time.
The only place I will get my hair cut. All the stylists can be trusted to clean up an old look or help you find a new one. 10/10 would recommend.
A great experience every time and the staff is very friendly and professional. Clarissa is awesome! Thank you all!!
Super friendly staff, usually go to the same barber, but on the times I haven't been able to, I've ocme out just as pleased
They'll cut your hair. The shoulder buzz is creepy and unwelcome.
Very friendly
Good service but I came at 4:35 on a Sunday needing a cut and they were already closed down.
Walk ins welcome, but can also call ahead and set a time. I walked in, wait wasnt bad. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and talented. Price is great! Cool atmosphere. Even offer beverages and popcorn. I go here every time to get my hair cut.
Great staff
This is by far my favorite barbershop in Portland. The prices are fair, and every visit has been a fun, positive experience.
Hands down, best barber shop in NE Portland. At least when the right barber is behind you holding the scissors. It took me four years of trying out different barber shops in the area before I tried The Barbers on NE Sandy. This was well over a year ago. I got a really fine haircut, and then after that stylist left I was lucky enough to get Nicky, who also manages the shop. She gave me another perfect haircut. I've been her steady customer ever since. She took the time to talk with me about what I wanted and then told me what cut would look best for me. What I appreciate the most is that she's consistent. She knows how to cut hair. I come out of the shop with a smile and the same perfect cut every time. The shop is clean and friendly, with maybe eight chairs and sports stations on all of the TVs. I've seen people of all ages there as well as young kids getting their hair cut for the first time. Free popcorn for those who want some. Best if you call ahead and book a specific time, but they always take walk-ins. Convenient parking out in front of the shop in a lot they share with the Laurelhurst Public House across the street.
Fun Staff, Great Conversations! Plus Free Popcorn and Refreshments.
Friendly staff, good prices, and great haircuts.
Great haircuts, nice staff, and quick service. As noted below, Mimi is very personable and makes the the experience more enjoyable.
I was really happy with my experience here. I've gone to other barbers and haven't been super satisfied. He or she listens, took care of me and made me feel good. Haircut was on point
Great service. They are all professionals. These guys a leaps and bounds above the budget chains! They hire the best and it shows. Everyone is friendly and chatty...the way a barbershop should be. They have TV's playing cartoons for the kids and sports for the guys. Popcorn and free soda while you wait. Give 'em a try. ENJOY! ;)
Top notch service. The staff are knowledgeable and have always been friendly.
It's a great place for men to get a great cut. The stylists are all wonderful and friendly. Very affordable services. Kid friendly. Free popcorn and soda. Walk ins only
Great hair cuts at great prices!
Great staff and cool atmosphere. Clean, with a retro modern kind of feel. Wait times can be long if you don't have an appointment, but they do have a decent waiting area with free cold drinks. They also do have a parking lot which is fairly rare for good barber shop.
Love taking my dad here he always is very happy after
Great people, great cut!!
Same day reservations taken and you will get a good haircut for a good price. It's Oregon owned and operated so much better than the nationwide chains
Outstanding experience. After frustrated local google searches leading to cash only long wait places, we found this place. The staff have me an amazing haircut. Good vibe, fun conversations and they made me feel like I have been coming there for years even though is was my first time. I would reccomend coming here above anyone else. Oh and the cat is cool too!
Husband loves this place
Great value, fast high quality cut with good stylists. No free beers, but fresh popcorn! And I like their system of calling in to get on the list or make a same-day appointment.
Not very impressed with the haircut. Asked for a hard part with high bald fade. The stylist did okay on the fade but didn't really touch up where the hard part is supposed to be so it's not prominent where the hard part is or should be.
Took my 14 and 8 year old boys. They are very picky and they had a great experience. Also free popcorn and soda.
Get "The Works" it's worth it
I didn't go there but I live next door to it
Every time I have come to get my hair cut I've had a new barber and each individual person has more or less done a really great job. It's far from my neighborhood, but the service has always been worth the drive.
Extreme wait time. Ok haircuts. Not very cheap. If you want a cheap cut go to Supercuts or something. If you want a good haircut go to an actual barbershop. The cat they have is pretty cool though.
Gina's my favorite. Always love catching up with her when I get my haircut.
In the style of Supercuts - this is a good solution. No, it's not where you'll find a famous stylist. Haircuts for me can be qualified by how long they stay looking good as your hair grows out. For men, if we can get 60 days it was a very good cut. Here, you begin to look shaggy between 4 and 6 weeks. Price wise, it's a few dollars more than it's worth but you can get in, get out and the task is complete. The 'schtick' is the TV's with sports on. And the offer of a neck massage. All the workstations are modeled like a man cave, so it does primarily target men (and boys - lots of kids). In the end the turnover rate on cutters is high but I was able to connect with one who has been able to remember my cut each time without having me re-explain. Is it great, um. no but it's not horrid either. For $20 bux it is a option.
I've taken my toddler son to the Barbers two times now. I have many friends who take their son's there for haircuts so thought I'd try it out. The first time we went we waited for quite awhile. I kept noticing that people who had walked in after us got their haircut first. It seemed like most of the barbers didn't want to cut a toddler's hair perhaps. When we were finally called up, my son got a mediocre haircut. I will say though, that the woman (don't remember her name) was very good with my son so for that I give a single star. Because of the long wait the first time, I decided to make an appointment the second time we went. This time I waited for close to 30 minutes and watched customer after customer who had come in after us (and who didn't seem to have an appointment) get their haircut before us. The lady at the front desk wasn't helpful and barely apologized. We will never go here again, and I would especially never recommend taking a young child here.
Great cuts and service! Ashley and Gina are awesome!
Consistently good haircuts usually fast service at a fair price.
Free popcorn, and soda, great hair cuts and massages
Have been going there for years Jung is the best.
Every time I come here, I enjoy my time. Mimi makes the experience wonderful and always goes out of her way to make sure I'm happy and all is well.
I was very excited to try The Barbers out for my boys & fiance. When we arrived, we were greeted kindly, didn't wait long before being called back to a chair. We were obviously going to be there awhile due to having 3 people getting cuts, 2 being children. I was completely okay with that. BUT while I was waiting I heard & saw many unprofessional things occur. The phone rang, one of the staff answered very nicely, but what she said while on the phone really got to me....The person calling clearly wanted to book with or come in when someone specific was working, cool whatever. Having the same person cut your hair is reasonable but the staff member told this client when that specific staff member was going to be at work next & what their hours were. TOTOALLY UNPROFESSIONAL & UNSAFE. Anyone can say they are anyone on the phone, you have no actual clue who that person really is which puts your employees at risk for many things. The next thing I witnessed was a rude employee not wanting to do what the client & his child wanted done to his hair. A dad brought his son in for a cut, the boy wanted it cut very short, the staff member said "are you SURE, that's really short!" In a real nasty way, the kid said yes so she begins cutting his hair. You could clearly tell this kid didnt like the hair cutting process as he was moving away from the clippers, spray bottle, etc & closing his eyes & flinching away. ALL WHILE THIS LADY WAS RIPPING HIS HEAD BACK TOWARDS HER. Totally uncalled for! I also never saw the staff sanitize their clippers, clipper guards or chairs between clients which is just nasty. I had high expectations for this place & am very disappointed. The hair cuts were good, but the customer service I WITNESSED was terrible. Going to try another location & am hoping it's not a company wide problem & only that specific location.
Was told it was a 40 min. wait, went for a walk for 30 min. came back and was told it was going to be 25 min. Had to get to another appt. so wasted an hr and still shaggy.
Gave me a great haircut, I normally hate how my hair is cut. This place asked me a ton of questions.
They snuck in a price increase and, you don't know until it's time to pay.
Great place - where I go for my haircuts. I always ask for Tara, who has always done a wonderful job.
I have literally been to over 20 different barber shops in Portland and was becoming discouraged trying to find someone skilled with the ability to properly cut my "difficult to cut" bright blonde hair! Then I met GINA! She was by far the best barber I've ever had! Extremely professional, courteous, caring, and GENUINE! She knew exactly what she was doing and that in my opinion....is truly priceless! Appreciate you Gina and I look forward to seeing you again. THANKS!
Been going here for over years. Always a good cut.
Go there, there's free soda and popcorn. Make sure to ask for Jun (hopefully I spelled her name right but she's lovely).
Love this place
Decent hair cuts..not to expensive
Never had a terrible haircut here, never had a really great one either. One time I had my haircut totally rushed through by the woman cutting it, just so she could give her husband a trim before work! Totally unprofessional. It's not terrible for the price, but I will be looking elsewhere in the future.
Very nice shop, kept clean. Go see Nicole Smith, she does a great job
I had an appointment at 11:45 that I called in at around 11:00 am for and I walked in at 11:30 and I wasn’t even acknowledge by any of the employees but I did walk up and check to see if I’m checked in and I was. I sat there for 30 minutes as people that showed up after me without an appointment got pulled in ahead of me. I kept trying to make eye contact with some of the employees and I kept getting ignored. So I decided to walk out at 12:20pm. I walked out with none of the employees even noticing me walking out. Oh and I was by myself in the waiting area...... I will most definitely NOT recommend this hair cut place that has piss poor customer service. BEWARE!!!!!
Great haircut at a lower price
A production line, lacking the classic Portland touches but excellent barbers, onsite parking, good prices and great cuts. Call early in the day for an appointment.
A decent enough experience, but a tad under-impressed with store layout and how that made it hard to separate all ongoing conversations.
They always nail it!
