Dillinger’s barber shop is amazing and that is entirely because of the people that work there. This place is very welcoming and warm. When in the chair you’re treated extremely well. They sell a good range of products but don’t try and push stuff off on you. Movies playing in the lobby and a cooler full of beer makes your wait enjoyable. Reid cuts my hair and has become a good friend (that I only talk to once every 6 weeks). Looking for an excellent haircut, go here.

I have tried most other major Portland barbershops in Portland. This is, by far, the best. I have been going to Courtney for several months now and the cut is always exact. Cannot recommend enough. From the start she was able to take my stumbling, vague description of what I wanted and put it together exactly how I imagined. I'm not from Portland and I am used to paying $10 a cut. I am so glad I finally found a place I feel where I comfortable paying the higher $28/cut average price in Portland. Very hip without the macho-beard-boy pretentiousness of other shops. Adam cuts with the best of them. I've been getting my haircut by him for years and never had a complaint. He's the type of barber that wraps things up, catches a small thing and gets you back in the chair to get it perfect. He's patient and genuinely a good guy. I highly recommend.

My son had an appointment on Feb 27th with Emily for a kids vintage haircut. To begin, she was late. Upon showing her a picture of a haircut (which happened to be a video game character) she laughed out loud in a condescending fashion. After discussing the style of cut my son wanted, I decided to give them space by stepping in to the adjoining room while saying, “I’ll leave you two alone so you can bond,” as a token of politeness. Emily replied seriously, saying, “I don’t think there will be any bonding happening.” After about 10 minutes my son started to look worried because she was cutting so much length which was not what we talked about. He asked Emily why she was cutting it so short on one side to which she replied, “I think you mean thank you.” Then followed up with, “If you want to look like a hot mess then that’s your choice.” Then she said, “Your hair texture is unforgiving which means it doesn’t blend and I keep cutting because I’m detail oriented.” This was very insulting especially for a 10 year boy’s first experience at a stylist. At the end, she condescendingly stated, “I didn’t get that close enough to the cartoon picture you showed me but my cuts always grow out the best”. She was rude, dismissive and curt to me but worse, to a well-behaved 10 year old boy. I would not recommend Emily from Dillingers hair salon to anyone.

Great service, very LGBT+ friendly with rad style and prices. They've just moved into this new location and they have beer and movies playing, while still maintaining a cozy friendly atmosphere. Emily is amazing, very chill, able to cut unisex and not at all catty or chatty like a lot of salons. For the experience, you cannot beat the price at all. I recommend it to everyone.

Couldn't find a sign for the place, so I called to inquire if they were still located at 26th & Alberta, since I only saw a sign for "All Teased Up." Patrick, who answered the phone, was extremely rude, and spoke to me like I was a telemarketer calling his house at dinner time. No thanks, I'll take my business somewhere else.

1 star cause I cant give BIG FAT ZERO. My face feels like I lit it on fire. I do a razor shave almost monthly. New in Portland. Its in Owners hands. He owns a place and allows this obviously not experienced person. Dull cheap disposable blades.

Great experience. Joshua did a fantastic job with my short fade. He’s all about the details. He took care of my beard and neck line as well. Dillingers is an awesome neigborhood barber. The entire staff is wonderful. The space is very comfortable. After you get a cut or color go next door Daddy Mojos for one of Portlands best undiscoved dive bars. I’ve never had the sushi.

I have been a customer of Patrick's for many years, since I first met him at The Modern Man. I followed Patrick as he made a few moves and eventually to his current place at Dillingers. A good barber who is consistent can be hard to come by and he was well worth the long trip from deep Gresham to recieve his services. Patrick has always been freindly and done outstanding work on my hair and beard. Unfortunately, because of the distance and how awful Portland traffic has gotten. I've had to look for someone closer to my area. I highly recommend him to anyone who values great work and exceptional customer service. This is a fantastic place, I'm glad I found it. The decor is interesting, it's spacious, and I like the staff. It's the little things in my opinion that make all the difference. I didn't know what I wanted done with my hair, which in the past people have always seemed put off to contribute to figuring out what would look good. Not only did Emily do that, she also explained why she was making the decisions she did. It really helped me a lot. Not a statement I ever expected to make about someone cutting my hair.

If you want a traditional barber cut by some really awesome people, forget Modern Man and head down the street to Dillinger's. You really can't beat the experience. Beer or Whiskey while you wait. Awesome barbers who actually care about what they're doing and take pride in their work.
