Amazing guys. Offered me a shot of whiskey while we were getting my hair cut. South park was playing in the background. My barber made me look and feel like a million bucks! I kept telling him that I don't need anything fancy since I work at home, and he could have finished the cut in 5 minutes. But he took his time and made me look really good. My girlfriend was impressed. I'm definitely coming here all the time now.

Let me preface by saying these guys are very good; I've only been here twice but both times my cut has been exceptional. If you're planning on going in a Saturday though, make an appointment. I waited over two hours as a walk-in (my own fault) until somebody had an opening. They're completely slammed on the weekend. It's a relaxing place to hangout, they have a pool table, fooseball, and a TV. They also have a PS3 but I've never seen anybody actually play it. What's really cool is they have complementary whiskey bar while you wait. They're pretty lax about it, I look young for my age (22) but nobody said anything when I helped myself. If that's not your thing, they keep the fridge stocked with craft beer. The cut itself was impressive, I have some pretty thick, unruly hair so it was nice to get what I actually asked for. The price are fair, even with a tip. They also have some quality pomades in stock. It's definitely a unique place, has sort of a everybody-knows-everybody kind of vibe. I would definitely recommend.

My toddler HATED haircuts especially with clippers. Johnny got him to sit calmly and even was able to use clippers on his second haircut! They are wonderful, nice, sell great products for men. There is pool and whiskey while you wait, sports on the tv, and even a little car chair for small children. We will never go anywhere else.

There is no real way to fully describe the experience. Verbiage like "Awesome", "Amazing" and "Cool" don't begin to cover it. The best way to describe it is like walking into an old-school barbershop but with a healthy dose of a vintage-modern vibe. Things like decor and layout and all that are easy, just throw money at it. What these guys have achieved is ambiance, and that can't be bought or painted on. The staff are easy going and friendly and, dare I say, craftsmen. I got the best haircut I have ever had and at my age, and given the number of haircuts I have had, that's saying something. Thus is a place where you can feel at ease being a man. It's not the put-on pretension of a sports bar or some lame hunting lodge boutique, but almost a throwback to when real men were commonplace and being a man was a virtue, not an aberration. Every one of the barbers there were friendly and at ease with each other and the customers, cracking jokes, making wise and talking with the customers they were working on and those waiting, occasionally stopping to check how their cut was going or to concentrate on what they were doing. Some of the clients were long-time clients back after a time away and each of the barbers knew them and remembered exactly what they wanted. Sitting and watching was a tour-de-force in customer service. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at Big Derrick's and I will be back. Many times.

The only place I get my hair cut now. Definitely a man's place, usually some adult language being used, something rated R being played on the TV, and of course there is beer and a small bar for the patrons to have a drink. But all of that is why I love it. Reasonably priced especially since drinks are built into the price, and good haircuts.

I had 2 consecutive haircuts at this place. I was pretty happy with the results despite the messy/loud atmosphere. On my third appointment, I was running late, so I called to let my barber (Payton) know that I am outside trying to find a parking spot. He said "well, I have someone else taking care of, you're late." I said I am exactly 7 minutes late! He said "Well, that's exactly our threshold; 7 minutes." Sure, because I am dealing with NASA! Not only a straight lie, but also a very unapologetic attitude. Not to mention that he had me wait for 15 minutes before. I won't be back. And will make sure to warn all my acquaintances. I am only writing this review to save people in our community a disappointment. I guess it's time to find a professional barber again.

Which I don’t mind but there was a handful of young children there at the Tim and I just think it’s inappropriate. Surprised this shop is still in business. I've had two haircuts from this shop since December. The first was from Brian who did amazing work, he is definitely worth going to but this review isn't about him. I just had a haircut from Kelsea and I wouldn't return to have her cut my hair. She took chunks of hair way shorter than others with the electric razor on the sides where it should be even and left lines of longer hair. Where the short and long parts of the cut meet with a hard part she was not able to make the shorter length even at the edge of the part. There was no attention to detail, it felt as if she just wanted to get things done as fast as possible.

Just went in and sat for 20 minutes to be told that even though they accept walk ins i have to wait another hour because someone had an appointment at 3. Well for starters buddy the employee you just let leave eats his lunch where i work almost daily. Secondly i walked in before the second employee even left for lunch and you still let him go. My head could've been done by then. You literally just copped an excuse like were a computer error pop up. If you don't wanna work go get a different job where you can be this lazy everyday. I will never come here again and i will be telling everyone i know what happens so that they stop going. Amazing experience. I won't go anywhere else. It's in the Reed Opera House so sometimes I have to walk a little bit if I can't find a close parking spot. But just to describe how much I love coming here, I broke my leg, had a splint on it and had to use crutches. Before I had surgery, I wanted to get my hair cut, so I got a ride here, used my crutches for about a block and navigated my way down stairs just to get a hair cut. I literally won't go anywhere else. Not only do they do the best job but they are super cool and nice.

Great atmosphere and if you have to wait there are some cool places nearby you can visit. Chill atmosphere overall. Amber is great! I'm pretty nervous about trying new styles, but I was in need of an update. Also important to note I don't understand much about hair styles. Amber was patient, and helped me figure out what I really wanted. Some barbers will just give you whatever you say you want and assume you know, Amber made sure I was getting what I wanted. She is the one for a great cut! A shop is made by the people who work there, and Amber is awesome.

This is one of the best barbershops in town. Derrick has created something special. Derrick, Diego and Payton all have cut my hair and each are extremely talented. A friend of mine had his hair cut by Amber and was so happy with the results! My grandsons love to have Diego cut their hair, my only complaint is one barber in general needs to understand when "G" language is appropriate, special words that rhym with duck should be used elsewhere.
