I wanted to come a few times before writing a review to check the consistency of each cut and so here I am several haircuts later. It's a great place. Clean and friendly staff and a few different subscriptions options. I personally hate the subscription and would rather pay per visit instead of automatically per month but its cheaper to just be a subscriber. Other than that it's nice.

Best barber I've ever seen. Sydney took the time to do a consultation and make sure she was going to do a cut I was happy with. She explained all the details of the cut and style and was informative about product options without doing the hard sell at the end that a lot of places do. They take notes about your cut so that you can visit and get what you want more easily, and their membership options are actually valuable instead of a gimmick like most places. 5 stars isn't enough for the stylist or the business.

I came across the $1 deal and thought I would give it a shot and I'm glad I did. As soon as I walked in the front staff was very courteous and asked if I wanted something to drink. After checking in it didn't take long for my stylist Tia to come up front to get me. To start she ask for my coat and hung it up then she took me over to sit down for my haircut. Tia was very nice and was easy to talk to and she listened to all of my questions about trying something new for the style. After my cut I put my hands into a some sort of a wax dip and they came out really smooth. I loved the washing, hot towel, and scalp massage she gave me as well. Would definitely recommend trying out this place. Hands down best shop I have been to and you get a lot for the price you pay. I will definitely be back next month for another haircut with Tia.

Got lured in by the $1 haircut, was blown away by it. Tia does incredible work, and I’ve been a happy customer for 2 months now. Seriously, if you’re out there looking up reviews to see if that $1 haircut is legit, it is, and you need to book one with Tia right now. Some may not dig the “subscription” or membership model, but I really enjoy it. I pay up front at the start of the month, and the only thing I have to worry about is showing up and getting my cut. Also, gotta chime in that they really aren’t pushy with the membership. I didn’t know what to expect at my first cut, and was prepared to get hounded to sign up, nope, just a simple explanation of the benefits and the different options, and one seriously chill haircut. 10/10

I couldn’t get with the girl that I usually go to to get my haircut and it was the only day I could go so I was in a pinch. I stumbled upon EITR on google and the whole $1 for first time guests thing was crazy so I had to check it out. I called and they got me set up for when I got off work. Best haircut of my life. No joke. My mom does hair. Don’t tell her I said that. But I’m serious. Tia did a great job with the cut and the massage and just being great to talk to! Sydney at the front desk was also very personable and helpful. I will definitely be going back there from now on.

Found this place looking for someone to cut my husbands hair. Im always nervous when we get his hair cut because he has a funny shape and its pretty easy to mess up. We signed up for a $1 promotion online and within 5 minutes got a call and scheduled same day! I loved the atmosphere, smell, music, and every single person there was amazingly sweet. Sarah cut my husbands hair and did by far the best job and won our loyalty so we will be back! He also got a face massage and hands moisturized in some type of wax. When we got to the car he was 1000% more happy and relaxed and I think he looks so handsome! Definitely worth trying!

Took my 16 year old son. First visit was amazing. Full service salon and fantastic haircut. Second visit the hair cut was awful! I even showed her a pic of the first haircut. They did not offer all the services as the first visit either. Guess it depends on the stylist but for $50 I'll take my son somewhere else

Good first experience overall. Tia did a great job of recovering my first impression of the establishment. I scheduled an appointment earlier in the week and was sent a text the day of the appointment that I would have to be rescheduled. I thought my first visit wasn’t going to go well if that’s how we started. Fortunately I was only rescheduled to a half hour later and my experience while at the shop was great. Great haircut and great treatments. Tia nailed the haircut and was welcoming and conversational without being “too much”. I will try again in the future.

First time going to this barbershop today 8/29/19. I’ve been going to the same barber for 10 years and I’ve always thought nobody could top her. I was wrong! I went to this location because a couple coworkers came in looking fresh after going here and they said first haircut is $1. I figured if I didn’t like it no big deal it was only a buck, I loved it so much I signed up for a membership as soon as my girl finished! Sydney is the manager and because I showed up early she cut my hair instead of making me wait for a girl to finish. Great service, very clean, overall awesome. Can’t wait for my next cut in a couple weeks!

My stylist, Tia was awesome and very personable. It was a nice experience and great to find a place that caters to men. My only criticism is that they are heavy on trying to sell memberships and do it repeatedly throughout the process which takes away from the overall experience in my opinion. I would suggest more of a soft sell approach when it comes to your services and products. The prices aren't unreasonable but it would be more appealing without membership fees.

Newest gem of OKC. As a young man of color, I was skeptical to get my hair cut here as opposed to a traditional barbershop but I’m glad I did. First haircut is $1 and they give you the deluxe membership treatment. After that you can sign up for the membership of your choice and get an automatic charge on you card every month. No hassle. And on top of a good haircut, service is PHENOMENAL! Immediately greeted with a drink of choice, you can book your appointments online, and you can come in whenever for free clean ups. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Tia cuts my hair and she’s awesome, super funny, great conversation, and she’ll take good care of you.

This place is great!! Amazing staff, great products, and an awesome setup for the store. Tia cut my hair, and did a wonderful job. I was very indecisive, I wanted to cut my hair short for the summer, but my wife just wanted me to get a trim and keep the length. Tia talked it out with me, and we decided to go in the middle. I really appreciate her patience with me, as I’m told i can be frustrating :D They are more pricey than your average in and out hair cut, but in my book, you get what you pay for. Also, with their membership you get good discounts and free clean ups, which makes you get more for your dollar out of your hair cut. Lastly, it may be a “guys” hair cut place, but its not one of those sleazy cheap gimmick guys places that is more about low tops and low prices vs high class and high quality. Good job with the business model, keep up the good work!!!

You get a full, all round, top notch treatment with multiple options to choose from specially if you get the membership- but there is. I pressure involved and you can come as often as you need/like. I’ve gone to Elephant in the Room three times so far and each experience has been superb. The atmosphere is very relaxed, unlike some other local salons that have a slight elitist, fashion savvy air about them, but that may also stem from them catering towards men versus female cuts. In any event, it’s an environment that’s comfortable and quickly becomes familiar. The specialists there know their stuff and have helpful recommendations for the stylistically challenged like myself. In fact, all of the staff promote an enjoyable experience, offering refreshments before the appointment, and a handful of addons to enhance the visit. In general, I tend not to talk too much when getting my hair cut (my mouth will always attract falling hairs without fail) and also its a moment to just unplug myself and let my mind wander—the specialists there will cater to whatever conversation, or lack thereof, you want and that’s hard to find at a number of salons. Finally the price, it’s not cheap, and honestly I dont like paying the price I do. But, it’s a premiere experience. Sometimes you go to McDonalds and sometimes a sit-down restaurant. I can go to a smaller barber and get a decent haircut for a fraction of the price, but it’s just to lop off some hair. Here it’s a mood, a moment to relax and spoil myself. I could fall asleep with the scalp massage/hot towel combo I get after my haircut, and that’s one of the things that make the difference. They booked my appointment right away. All staff were super friendly. My haircut is exactly if not better than what I wanted. I've never had a better haircut experience in my life. As soon as I left I recommended that my roommate go and he booked an appointment for the next day. Everyone here is phenomenal at what they do and it makes the experience relaxing in a way most mens barber's can only try to master. I will definitely be returning myself and recommending them to everyone I know.

The beard was aligned nicely, however when I came back and looked in the mirror, the edges were still rough, so had to sharpen them again with a razor.. I think my experience would have been better if I was not being experimented on by a barber who was 2 weeks into his/her career, looked like there was little experience in cutting with scissors. The scalp massage and the paraffin was was a good experience though. My only advise to the owners would be to have experts for first time customers so that it can be translated into a membership. Thanks

About a year ago I wanted to find a true barbershop that had stylist that could cut men's hair. THIS IS THE PLACE! It was awesome and the environment was wonderful. Recently Elephant In The Room called me to let me know that I got a $5 hair cut special at a regular $32 value. This was out of the blue and a very nice surprise. Thankfully I was able to be one of the first people to experience the new Oklahoma City store.This store is special because it is their first franchise store, and the new owners are great people. We had a great conversation! I got me $5 hair cut before they even officially open. They were very gracious and excited about this new chapter in they're lives. Best of luck!

I had the best experience ever. I would recommend this to anyone. Worth every penny but only cost me $1 for my first hair cut. Sydney washed and conditioned my hair. Gave my face some sort of special scrub. Put a crazy wax stuff on my hands that peeled of painlessly and left them smoother than a mans hand should be. She used a straight razor, a trimmer and something else I don’t know how to explain on my face. She trimmed my eyebrow. She also braided my hair into some kind of awesome Viking thing. Almosts forgot! Of course she cut my hair. Which included part of a fade and some other stuff I’ll never understand. Did I mention they give you free coffee and sodas?!?! 10 out of 10 from the guy who hates hair cuts and everything that comes with them.

I had a friend of mine rave about this barbershop. He swore up and down about how well they cut hair. I went to check it out myself, the hospitality was bar none. I was Immediately greeted when i walked through the door. Janet is who cut my hair; Her level of expertise was above anything I’ve ever experienced. She took notes on specifics as far as the length of my hair, where i asked for it to be faded, to the products she used. Great experience.. definitely would recommend this place to anyone searching for a haircut!

I would just like to start off by saying I am not one to do Google reviews unless the experience was bad! And with that being said this Google review will be different. The experience I had at this place was very good! My stylist Tia was amazing and so is the staff at the front counter! I loved my experience there and like other Google reviews they did not keep repeating and hounding me about memberships. I am going to sign up for the deluxe membership because it will be well worth the money spent! The only thing bad that I have to say about the place is that I didn't notice it until I was driving home that my haircut was uneven. Now I understand this was the first haircut and it was only a buck but when I go in for the price that I'm going to pay for the deluxe membership I'm going to expect it to be an even fade on both sides. But other than that my experience now is what I expect my experience to be in the upcoming visits that I plan on coming back to have and that would be excellent.
