I've been going here for about a year now. I usually have Mary cut my hair. I always enjoy the conversation and atmosphere. Everyone there is friendly and great at what they do. I highly recommend it. To put it into perspective, I have many barber shops around where I live, but I choose to go 30 minutes out of my way to make the drive to Longview Barber Shop. Don't get discouraged when you see the line. It is well worth the wait, I promise!

The customer-barber conversations were a little crazy when I was there but it was a neat place and the barbers all seemed to really enjoy working there. I should have posted this review a long time ago... Longview barbershop has been in my life for over five years now. I’ve had my hair cut by several barbers, each extremely skilled, friendly, mindful and kind. Barbers: Dave - The owner who is hands-on. His cutting skills are top notch, and his people skills reach even higher bounds. He talked my cat off a ledge. Alyssa - New to the crew, but like Wu Tang, she brings the ruckus. Her cutting style is known and respected. She can’t be stepped to. Merry - A soft-spoken, beautiful mother with scissors for fingers. As soon as you leave the shop you’ll be approached by Clintonville girls that make Zooey Deschanel seem ordinary. Mitch - This guy has more oil products than the Genco Pura Olive Oil Company. I’ve seen his cuts and beard trims... He’s an enforcer with fade skills. Jeremy - A vet with an infectious laugh. He’s a hustler, which is why Jay Z is working on a verse dedicated to this guy. Nick - A movie buff with a curly mustache. Depp used the same one in the pirates movies. A great sense of humor and slays jokes. He could have been an opener for Sinbad, but he brought his act here. Rob - A native of NE Ohio. Always laughing, because he’s happy he left NE Ohio. This dude taught me how to be cooler and didn’t charge a dime for the workshop. Amy Jean - A country girl with clippers in each holster. Her skills with the buzzers is something fierce. Cowboys leave with their hats off to let the town know - Longview Barbers made their mark. Stephanie - Impeccable cuts and beard trims. Her cuts give me confidence I’ve never had. Single mothers have put me on their wanted lists, and put the kids down early every night.

Nick was amazing!!! Knew what I needed due to a botched job at great clips (coupons are not worth a bad cut). Walk in wait was around 30ish min. Big crowd means high quality place. Great atmosphere. Laid back. First time away from my normal barber do to their availability. I know it's hard to find a new barber or someone in between cuts. Hands down the place to go if you are out of town, need a new barber, or just a quick cut. Go see Nick. His attention to detail was amazing. Fun guy and super chill. I will be back!

I got a cut here expecting a Barber shop experience. I did not get that. Every other real barber shop I ever went to did a complete job. I got a shotty neck line with a mediocre fade by some blonde chic. Basically what you would expect from a great clips. The entire shop felt sterile with no real personality.

Came here on veterans day for a beard trim as the place I usually go was closed. This has a cool atmosphere and the dude trimming beard was super knowledgeable and offered great advice. Didn't seem like I was burden to him as I was apprehensive about going too short. Great conversation. They prefer cash but take card. I'd come back for sure. They made an outsider who's not a norm feel welcome!

And one of the Barbers got him all the way together I have h a nice tip Because my son was all over the place and did not want him to touch his hair o mean my son was wild. There were two others getting cuts that also looks sharp. Just hit directions and go. You must like to read. Use cash if you can, I didn't think ahead and making these service providers cover a credit card fee can add up and I felt like a dull rusty tool. Best in Ohio? Maybe.

Been going here most of my life. Staff is very customer service focused. Great with kids. Jeremy, especially, is patient with kids that have fears with getting their hair cut. Big crate of toys plus books and comics to keep the kids entertained and out of your hair. Certain days, certain barbers are appointment only. There are always non-appointment barbers. On their web site there is a web cam showing their sign in sheet so you have an idea of wait time. Usually it is pretty short unless you have a specific barber in mind and a couple folks are in front of you. The new seating arrangement allows for more barbers but does make it a bit harder for pre barber conversation. So for first time folks it may not be as socialable as it was back when they had about half the staff. But once you get back to the barbers, there is tons of good conversation to be had. Local Clintonville history with Dave, movies and comics with Nick, sports [OSU, NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS (the Crew filmed a commercial in the shop), etc.] with most anyone and almost anything else. I heard Chelsea discussing dogs with a patron during my last visit. And after a few visits they get to know your name and the experience grows.

Frankly, not a particularly good haircut. They have a silly policy of having per blade charges and, oddly does mens barber, clip but don't shave the back of your neck. Go here if you want a mediocre haircut done by posers. Find a real barbershop if you want a quality cut.

Dave and Jeremy were the only Barbers at Longview Barber Shop when I started getting my hair cut there in 2005. I have watched the shop evolve to what it is today and it still has that same feel now that it did then. I used to enjoy watching football games while waiting for my turn on that big CRT TV that used to be over the front door. Great atmosphere, fair prices and good Barbers; I'd recommend them to anyone.

Gave my boyfriend a bowl cut! We thought the haircut looked okay while wet, but after it dried it looked absolutely awful. No layering done. Back wasn't even cut. I don't think this place can cut longer hair, or at least our barber. We were really surprised considering all of the high reviews. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Real barbershop chairs. Rustic stadium chairs. Children's play area. Free Wi-Fi. Big screen TV.

I have been going to Longview for about a year. I have had my hair cut by multiple barbers at this location. The level of talent here is off the charts! Other reviewers have complained about the atmosphere. If you're looking for a prohibition style barber shop this isn't for you; if you are looking for a prohibition style cut however, this barbershop has the barber for you. Don't let the female barbers discourage you- they have the talent to do any cut you are looking for. I have had my hair cut by Chelsea, Dave, and Mitch (incredible : but is basically only by appointment). I usually go for a high-and-tight with a beard trim and have yet to be disappointed. Whether you're taking your child or you are looking for that hip new cut, Longview will not disappoint - I promise!!!

5 Stars isn't enough!! I have been going to Longview for only 2 months now and every visit was stellar. They have a sign in sheet for walk-ins and I always select first available because I trust google reviews. I am also eager to have each barber have a go at my misshapen head! The first few haircuts have been by Amy who did such a good job that my wife noticed! (She NEVER notices) My last visit, Nick took care of me. He too did an amazing job! The entire staff there is passionate, friendly and professional. They truly care about their clients and have an excellent reputation. Many of the customers that walk in are addressed by name. That isn't something you often see at other barbershops or salons. From now on, consider me a loyal regular! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to a great haircut and exceptional customer service!

First experience here wasn't great since I was very specific that I didn't want the barber to touch the top of my hair or bangs, but then after he began talking it was like he went into barber-mode and forgot what I had told him. However, I've given it a few more shots with different barbers and received better cuts. Raising my rating from 2 to 4.

Great locally owned barber shop. Their pricing is very reasonable. I love the fact that you can visit the website to see an image of the current sign-in waitlist. You can gauge if you want to head in now or check again later for less wait. My barber, Alyssa, takes the time to get your cut just right and is very knowledgeable about current trends and cuts. Highly recommend going here, as this is one of the few shops that accept cash or card, and I believe you can make appointments with some of the staff via their website, too.
