Let me tell you about my first experience with LaBelle’s barbershop. Upon entering I was nervous knowing Charles was going to give me my first facial ever, instantly being the pro he is he recognized the signs of my anxiety. He guided me over to my chair and whispered in my ear that everything was going to be alright that he had been giving facials for years. I let him have his way with me and started to enjoy myself. After it was all said and done I was thankful Charles was my first until I went on instagram and noticed he had takin pictures of me when I was vulnerable. I've put off writing this review for awhile, but finally felt like it was a poor enough of an experience that I should. I received a haircut from Steve about a month ago. First off, I was kept waiting for about ten minutes (there was no one waiting for a haircut except for myself). Steve played on his phone and walked past me several times. His entire demeanor was just grumpy. Eventually he had me come take a seat. I showed him a picture of the haircut I would like and he proceeded to comment "that is the most stupid haircut I've ever seen." I was pretty shocked, but I proceeded to ask him what he thought was good. He then went on to rant about how people bring pictures in all the time expecting a haircut to look a certain way, which I can imagine is annoying, but that's not what you say to a customer. The rest of the haircut was incredibly awkward after that. I asked him at one point if he could make my cut more "angled" on the sides, similar to a box cut. Apparently asking for a more angled look was very confusing to him and he proceeded to raise his voice and exclaim how confused he was and said, loudly, "I've never been more confused by a customer than I am now." At this point, multiple people were looking over at us and my face was very red. I was SO embarassed. And if that were not enough he then got an attitude with me, which I matched. As soon as he could tell I had had enough, his entire demeanor changed and he was very nice to me. Lastly, I had asked him to cut the top of my hair back a little. He forgot. I don't know if he was stoned, or what, but this was not a $16 haircut. I almost think I should've been getting paid for this. To say the least, it was the most uncomfortable haircut of my life. I had to go to another barber the next day and spend another $16 to have him fix AND finish my haircut. The atmosphere is very nice, I cannot deny it. But this experience ruined the idea of me wanting to go back here. I've had a few kind of just... "weird"... encounters with Steve before (he's not very friendly) but this was by far the worst, and just plain embarassing. I've also received a hot towel facial massage from here before, but my barber yelled at the TV the entire time. It was not very relaxing, at all. That is pretty much all I have. I would consider changing my rating, but not as long as Steve works there. So for now, this business is one possible client fewer.

First and foremost my first experience with the owner of this meticulously ran establishment was perfect and possibly an understatement. Upon walking thru the doors the flawless layout captures an old school barber feel. From the cozy couches and leather upholstery to the few various animals mounted on the walls. It really gives this place a man cave feel. Televisions mounted to stay up to date on the lastest sports or on the weekends cartoons playing to bring out the inner kid. (Who doesn’t like looney tunes) Upon sitting in the chair you’re greeted with the upmost professionalism and you really get a feel that he truly cares about your concerns about your haircut. The end result is simply perfection. Which is why he has earned my loyalty. Not to mention the environment is also kid friendly and when having a 6 yr old it’s good to know even he is in great hands. i am from Chicago and I regularly travel to Akron, Ohio for work purpose. I needed a beard and a hair trim. After researching online and reading reviews on this place , I decided to give it a chance. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED. The beard I grew for over 8 months was horribly butchered in just few minutes, even when I told him to just trim. The hair cut was another whole story, it was uneven and choppy. After returning to Chicago I went directly to my barber to get everything fixed. Long story short I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GET A HAIR OR BEARD TRIM FORM ERIC.

If you're looking for a great haircut and an atmosphere to match, LaBelle's is it!!! Scheduled a haircut and beard trim with Shane. Was the last appointment of the day and they were on time, and he took his time in making sure that I was happy with his work. On top of that, the rest of the guys there were great. Full of laughs and jokes, it made for a fun environment. It's super easy to get to also which makes it nice. I've definitely found my new barber!
