Good cut, but I felt like Jill did not want to be at work today. I described what I wanted, she got a little upset and said it didn't make sense. After my haircut she left the floor, I must have been the last cut before her lunch break. No smile at all from her or any words at all. 11:00AM on a Saturday.

Are you an old school traditional dude who likes whiskey, cigars, or the smell of grilled meat? If the answer is yes then you need to head on down to BlueStar and see Megan or Xavier for a good old-fashioned straight razor shave. This old school experience is absolutely worth it. Both barbers are phenomenal at what they do and amazing with their clients. So don't waste another minute get over to BlueStar it Grandview for Javier or BlueStar at Polaris for Megan and treat yourself to an old school straight razor shave

Awesome guys spot. Includes a neck shave and quick massage. The smell of the products they use is so fresh and clean smelling. It fills the building and I came out refreshed and looking good. Will go back!

I went in for a haircut and the person they gave me was learning how to cut hair. I was not asked if it was ok for a novice to cut my hair. The results were that the cut was way too high and my hair had to be cut really short which was not what I asked for, another barber had to intervine and try to fix it. I thank that barber for stepping in and try to fix the cut. At the end I had to pay half price for a haircut I didn't want.

Never a bad experience with any of the barbers. Always a consistently good haircut. Call ahead to book an appointment though. You can sometimes find yourself waiting in a pretty lengthy line.

Was looking forward to trying this place out but was disappointed in the hair cut. The girl cutting my hair had no idea what she was doing and didn't do half of the things I asked her to do. It was an overpriced sports clips hair cut, not a real barber.

I Used to drive 30 mins to Polaris just to get my haircut from Blue Star because it was always done right, regardless of who cut it. This new shop is closer and produces the same great cuts.

Loved the online booking ! I hate phone calls. & The email reminder was a nice touch .. Was my first time in the shop, loved the fastest paced atmosphere, but yet how relaxed I was in the chair . Jill was fantastic, didn't really have to explain myself much she know how to work with my thinning hair ! I recently started going here now that I actually care how my hair looks. I've never left with a bad cut. The staff is very friendly and does an excellent job. Be careful coming after 5pm on weekdays... you might be facing a 40 minute wait.

They offer a few extra amenities above and beyond the typical barbershop like straight razor neck shave and head massage. This said, the real appeal is I've been getting excellent haircuts here. Far better in any place else I visited the last 10 years.

I went here for a while and never felt comfortable, mostly because they operate essentially as an "upscale" Great Clips, but on two separate occasions, I came in the middle of the afternoon to get a haircut and they had locked the door. Their hours weren't marked clearly as closed mid-day (I don't believe they are), and on one of those occasions, I could see staff in the back of the building and believe they saw me. This review is no fault to the stylists, who I didn't have a terrible experience with by any means. I truly believe it has to do with the management of the location and Blue Star's franchise-like feel. If you're looking for a Great Clips-esque service, I'd recommend this (or just go to Great Clips), but pretending it's this super modern take on the vintage American barbershop is empty branding, not the actual value you receive.

Slow service, silly "call ahead" system, and poor atmosphere. I've given both locations multiple chances over the past few years and somehow they always find new ways to disappoint me. The latest and last attempt was at the grandview location where even with my call ahead I waited well over an hour before even getting started. In short, I'd avoid this place unless it's empty and you're desperate.

I used to go to Great Clips due to convenience and price - but after three bad haircuts, I looked to make a change and I couldn't be happier then finding Blue Star. Here's some things I love about this barbershop: ACTUAL HAIRSTYLISTS Every haircut I've had is perfect. They don't rush me out the door but are also quick to give me a quality cut. AFFORDABLE A top notch, quality haircut for $23 actually a steal. I mentioned I used to go to Great Clips due to price - well I was young and naive because I'd get a bad haircut every other time. The peace of mind that I'm getting a great haircut for a solid price, is why I give the 5 stars. THE EXTRAS At the end of the haircut they will massage your shoulders with a machine for a few minutes but the best part is the warm shaving cream they use to clean up the back of your neck and around the ears. Gives you the old-time barbershop feel - even though you're in a modern, clean business. *Highly recommended

Depending on who you get, you can get a great cut here, but they are very inconsistent between barbers. You will need to find an individual that works for you and only use them. The scheduling process is a pain, as they only take appointments the day of and frequently they mess the appointments up, or you still end up waiting 20+ minutes to get your hair cut. Great when they're great, but truly awful far too often.

When you first walk in you get a really clean and modern vibe with the subway tiles, decor, and wood accents. The customer service is pretty good and the cuts are okay. I didn't feel like they took enough time cutting my hair.

Hoping that management sees this and actually takes it into account. I’ve been going to Blue Star for two years now, I love the cut - the actual hair cutting service is above others in the Columbus area...however, Blue Star is doing itself and customers a massive disservice by not innovating upon their scheduling system outside of the Easton Store (only store that takes online appointments). Their call ahead times at any normal hour for a haircut (noon onwards) are atrocious, and depending on the front desk staff, you’re given a very apathetic quoted time which is usually very non-committal on their part. Once you arrive for your call ahead, expect to wait an additional 20-30 Mins in the waiting area. There needs to be a change here, either hire more staff and attempt to accurately cater to demand so as to reduce wait times. Allow for a more regimented schedule so your customers can try to fit you into their schedule (everyone I see going here seems to be fitting their cut into their work day). Or, open up an app or online booking system to more locations than just the Easton location. Following any or all of these suggestions would keep my business with Blue Star. I’m trying to pay you $25 for a haircut, at least do some of the legwork and make the scheduling process more fitted to my needs and the needs of others alike.

I called at about 2:30 this afternoon to see if they had a a 5pm appointment. I was told they did I fav have a 5pm appointment. I arrived two minutes till 5 check in and they fully intended to take the people ahead of me, I'm sorry I was under the impression that an appointment meant that I would be seen at the time of the appointment. I am so sick of shoddy service in the Columbus Ohio area. I will not be going here again. I have. No idea if the cuts are any good. I know there not cheap their signs say so.

This place got good reviews so I figured I would try it since I am new to Columbus, my hair looked better before I went in. I showed 3 photos of how I always get my hair cut and did not make it look like it at all. Now I need to get another haircut to fix his mistakes he made.

It's very clean and there was no wait on a weekday afternoon. The "barber" (who is not a licensed barber) eventually got the fade to look acceptable. I don't think she had ever used a straight razor before because she repeatedly went over the same area of skin without reapplying shaving cream. It was quite painful and left my neck bright red. I'm not going back. To the management: Make sure your new workers know how to shave with a straight razor.

I thought of going to this place since my son and I's previous barber had recently passed away. I called to see if they had any openings and the person that answered the phone was talking in some sort of jive talk/street dialect and mentioned they could book my son and I in 2 hours later. We ended up finding another traditional/old-fashion barber down the street and never got a call back from Blue Star for the appointment that had kept. A patron from the old-fashion barber shop we ended up going to said Blue Star has to get people in and out with 9.5 minutes whether the haircut is finished or not and is not very hospitable to the local clientele. Makes sense.

Conversation was great-got a tutorial on how to use the products I use in my hair. I’m already looking forward to my next cut.
