I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new barber. My son needed a last minute haircut and they were open on Sunday. When we walked in we were greeted by friendly faces. You saw all different races coming in and received the same level of superb service. Brandon who cut my sons hair took his time and made my son feel super comfy. We will be coming back! Service was excellent and the environment was perfect for both my child and my Dad. I’ve been bringing my son here since he was 2.5 to get his hair cut. That’s pretty early for me to be up, let alone get to the barbershop and I hear that Jeff is on vacation and I knew nothing about it. Awful experience! The barber did not know what a dark ceasar cut was, messed up my son's hair, charged full price and no one said sorry or my bad or anything. My son has a cut on the side of his neck from the blade. Do not plan to return and I do not recommend to anyone else.

I would genuinely drive up to an hour to get my cut with these guys instead of another shop. World class establishment. I've been 4 or 5 times and I know every barber on a first name basis. Everyone is very welcoming and yet even more skilled with their cutlery. You'll get a very chill but traditional barbershop atmosphere- usually fairly busy, mostly regulars who have friendly banter with the barbers about sports, society, or just life in general. They make me miss home in NYC. Make an appointment or just walk in - you will not be disappointed!

Very nice, clean establishment. I come to Renaissance because of a barber who no longer works there. I just want my edges back (thank heavens (my) hair grows back). They were cut off without consent. Just wanted to get cleaned up and lined up. My forehead is formidable on its own, now it appears much larger. Never had a barber shave my edges away before. I am aware of "masculine" and "feminine" lines but I really like my hairline the way it is. Ughs. Letting it grow all the way out now. Always wiser to cut less hair than more, you can always go back and cut more off if requested.

The entire staff makes you feel at home. I have seen kids as young as 1 year old and senior citizens as old as 100 in there. I have seen men and women regularly. What I have never seen is a bad haircut or unsatisfied customer. I will always trust Renaissance, they take their time and make sure its done right, every single time!

I really wanted to like this place because the atmosphere is pretty sweet. I think I got someone new though who didn't know what they were doing. It took--I'm not joking here either--50 minutes from the time I sat down in the seat until I got up. The guy kept doing the same things over and over and over again. And then at the end, it wasn't even that great of a cut! Plus I paid almost double what I would pay across the street. I probably just got unlucky, but still left me wanting more...

Moving from Greensboro, where I had 3 excellent stylists, I had concerns on who in the RTP area would have the responsibility of keeping my hairline razor sharp and waves crashing. To my delight, I found Rennaissaince Barbershop as it was close to my work place, just driving by to visit Best Buy. Absolutely the worst haircut I have ever received. Barbers were confused by who’s cutting who’s hair...one of them refused to take a walk in as he was “on lunch” when he went to a sofa and put his jacket over his head to take a nap. All barbers kept going in and out of store looking for each other. No conversation and the barber who cut my hair kept checking his phone. Sloppy haircut will not be returning..

I read all the reviews and was referred by a friend to come there to get a good hair cut and I was sadly mistaken. I grew my hair out for a year and half and had free-form locs. I gave specific instructions and showed photos of EXACTLY how i wanted my hair cut. I instructed to leave alot on top and he cut my hair way down too low and then he basically give me a high and tight and it wasn't even sharp when lining my hair up. Basically used a 0 guard and faded all my hair and left it dark on top but it was uneven and he botches some of my hair. I stated I wanted a high temple fade and leave alot of my hair on top and keep it as dark as possible I wound up looking like a Marine. I didnt realize how my bad my hair was until the following day and I paid the 25 I did not get what i paid for. I watched the barbers all around me cut hair the way I wanted mine but mine was beyond repair and now I have to wait 2-3 weeks for my hair to grow back so I can get it cut the way I want. i was hoping to have found a barber but this was not the case....

Yesterday (03/21/19) was my first time at renaissance barbershop and it will be my last. $21 plus tip was too much to be cut up. I left knowing I had redness and swelling. Today the swelling was gone but it is evident I was cut. You win some and lose some. Yesterday I lost. Now I am left with this embarrassing cut on my face. On a positive note, everyone did seem friendly and the place was clean.

I am new to North Carolina and I was looking for a Barbershop for my 8 year old to get his hair cut. After researching, I decided on Renaissance. The reviews were great, but also the fact that they were open on Sunday was a plus. We walked in without an appointment, but we only waited about 10 minutes before he was in the chair. Tremaine did a great job, BUT my Son's line up was uneven. It was cut back too far on one side. It was crooked. I didn't notice this until we left and I didn't had time to go back. This is why I only gave 4 stars. For this to be his 1st experience that was a little disappointing. However, everyone in the shop was very nice. They were cutting hair of all ethnicities and types and this was a great thing as well. I will be returning tomorrow for another cut for him, but I will let them know that I expect them to correct his line. Overall Renaissance is a great place for a cut!

Wassup yall!! I had to take a moment to shout out Corey for a job well done yesterday on my hair. I was sad, sulking and scared when I arrived. My silly self paid a salon $75 for a wash, protein treatment and a cut. The cut was ugly and I wasn't satisfied. Corey took his time and listened to my dreadful story and proceeded to hook me up. His skills with the clippers are phenomenal. I'm a natural 3c, 4a African American woman and a satisfied customer. The place is clean, comfortable and the staff are very polite as well.

The guys who work here are very friendly and make small talk without being annoying which is really nice, but I ended up with probably the sloppiest cut I've gotten. A week ago I made an appointment and came in that same day. I asked to get my hair cut short on the back and sides, and take some off the top and just leave enough for me to comb over. I faced away during the haircut, so I didn't really pay close attention while it was getting cut, but after I got home and looked closely I noticed a few things that made me unhappy. The left side of my head looks like it was cut to a half size or maybe even a full size longer than the right side of my head. You can clearly tell this when looking straight on at my head that one side is significantly longer. I feel like if the barber just looked at me to check over his work, he would have noticed this. On top of this, he cleaned up my hairline to look more straight, but where my hairline transitions into my sideburns you can tell that the two sides of my face didn't match, so if anyone looks closely it looks like one side of my hairline was touched up, and the other looks untouched. I also asked to get a hard part put in on the left side of my head where I usually have it done. But instead of following the part that was already there but was partly filled in by new hair, he put in a part higher up a little bit, making that area look really weird if you look closely at all since there's a small patch of hair hanging out in between my old part and the new part, that's disconnected from the rest of my hair. The atmosphere here is really nice, but I would strongly suggest that anyone reading this pays close attention to their haircut before leaving.

The cut on my husband's hair was so bad, I had to buzz the rest of his hair off myself. They get 1 star for quickly screwing up his hair. It only took 15 minutes to mess it up, where some places take an hour to screw up your hair cut. I don't even trust them to fix it. I guess this will save us money in the long run, because we definitely won't be back.

Without a doubt...Absolute WORST haircut ever. A co-worker and myself went there with high expectations after hearing from friends and other co-workers about how good Renaissance was. My barber smelt like straight smoke and a very strong aftershave that I can still smell 3 hours later and not to mention waiting almost 30 minutes which was to be expected...even though we called in ahead of time. I showed my barber a specific picture and gave him specific instructions on what I wanted done ( a regular ass fade!!). When I left, it looked like i had joined the marines....literally 0 all the way up and hair on top. Every other customer had a very nice haircut and fade including my co-worker which was very pleased with his barber and haircut. However I was VERY unpleased and left with nothing remotely close to what I asked for. He used a 0 on all three sides of my head and then tried to send me off. I asked if he could fade it a bit more. Surely enough used a 0 all the way to the top leaving about 1/2 an inch of hair the size of a 2 gaurd all the way around. Absolutely no fading whatsoever. I could have done this for free at home, I asked for a haircut with a fade not a skin tight 0 all the way to the top. Next after completely disregarding what I asked for and taking it into his own hands what he thought I needed he cut the back of neck with his shape up clipper. And to top it all off he said it's $21 but I'll be generous it's only $17 this time. I am very upset and displeased. I work with new customers everyday in a professional setting and will be looking foolish for the next 2-3 weeks. I was hoping to have found a new barber just across from me however this wasn't the case.

More importantly, you set an expectation that although I was unable to be seen on my walk-in I would still be seen at an alternative time that was mutually beneficial for the Barber Shop staff and myself. When my son sits in Curtis's chair he's not just another kid, curtis inquiries about what's going with Joshua. They actually have conversation and I've really enjoyed the relationship that we've built with Curtis. The other Barber's in the shop are also welcoming and great people. The thing that I moat like about the shop is the ability to take my son into this shop and feel comfortable that the language is respectable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I had my hair cut here six times and none of them was satisfactory and above the market price by almost 3-4 dollars. Also, they are NOT customer-oriented and they don't respect the appointments they make. I only come here because it is kind of close to where I live. Yesterday I got very disappointed by the way I was treated. I had an appointment at 8 o'clock in the morning and I was there in time however I entered the barbershop finding someone getting his hair cut in front of me which delayed me for almost 20 min. What really bothered me is that no one even apologized for the delay and both the barber and the receptionist acted as nothing has happened. I sent I feedback email to the barbershop, and as expected, I received no response till this moment which shows how unprofessional they are. If they cannot comply with their appointments, simply don't make them!

This is by far the worst attempt of a haircut I’ve ever received. After asking Corey who the best person in the shop was for fades, I was told that they were all good and that this was the best place in town for fades. I told my barber that I needed a very clean fade for my upcoming graduation, after which he proceeded to give me an atrocious haircut. Despite telling him not to shorten the top of my hair at the start, he went ahead to cut 3/4 of it off without asking a single question. Should have spent more time focusing on the haircut instead of talking, especially considering that not a single question about my hair was asked and I ended up with 1) a completely uneven fade on both sides, 2) one side burn being a whole inch higher on one side than the other, 3) the sorry attempt at fading the back of my hair, which is lopsided and looks completely unfinished. Not to mention the fact that my friend left with a 2 inch cut on his face by the same barber. Save your $30 and if you really need to do something about your hair, I’d recommend buying a hat instead of a haircut from this place.
