The prices are sky high. I came by today, April 22nd to get my beard shaved off since I couldn’t find my razors at the last minute. They are one of the few barber shops in the area that open before 10am. I usually frequent Great Clips, Hair Cuttery, Sports Clips or etc. I typically only pay $5 to $10 for beard trims. Parkside, while they were open before I had to get to my job, nickel and dime you to pieces. I had to pay $23!!??!! Absolutely ridiculous prices. It is Innsbrook at Short Pump, but still this place was not Margaritaville. I probably should have planned better so I wouldn’t have had to get a $20 beard trim at eight in the morning, but $20 is $20. OMG!?

Iv come here about 8 times maybe 3 times did I get a good haircut. The visit today was the worst the guy was horrible. At the end of haircut I noticed something not done correct so I sat back down and he didnt care to put the Cape back on so my shirt and pants got covered in hair. Didnt offer a towel a blow dryer or anything started to walk up front. This was the last straw the carelessness he had was mind blowing. Will not be returning!!

Never been too picky on haircuts and I usually have whoever is available first cut it. That being said, everyone I've had has been great. They take their time and you can have a beer while you're waiting. Fun atmosphere too. Well worth the $20 plus tip for a men's cut.

Disorganized front desk . A guy who came after me was sent first for hair cut and the front desk guy did not even realize until I spoke to him . Instead of correcting his mistake or aplogising he did nothing . Will never go back. No manager on the floor to help.

My haircut is so horrific I'm just sick. I would be more honest if I could rate Parkside Barber even lower, but I can't. It is going to be six months before my normal barber can clear this crap job up. It is so bad I got better haircuts in Iraq. The barber didn’t listen a bit when I told him what I wanted. Today Saturday 12/16/2018, I drove there to get a hair cut because they said they don't do appointment on Sundays. Even though I am suffering from back pain, I decided to drive there anyhow for 25 minutes and when I arrived there at the front desk, that ugly, rude and stupid receptionist told me that they stop accepting walk-ins at 3:30 period. Because I am not wearing my watch, I thought it was 4ish already and when I got back to my car, it was only 3:33! At that time I thought wait a minute, its only 3:33 and therefore I was there exactly at 3:30 so I went back and told her that the time is only 3:33 and why is she not being considerate after the fact that I told her I drove 25 minutes just to get there. They need to do better than being rude to customers. My suggestion is to find another place to get a hair cut because this place is not very friendly.

It's funny to think that I've known Robert - the owner - for almost 25 years and he's been cutting my hair the whole time. The shop is amazing. The array of services there is astounding and the atmosphere of friendly banter between the patrons and the barbers is always entertaining. Frankly, I'm surprised at the fellow who claims to have had a negative experience. I'd encourage him to give it another try. Heck, at Parkside, he can have a beer while he waits. And who doesn't think that beer makes waiting for a haircut worth it?

Been going here for years with my dad and man I’m not the type to post something but this place let me down today. For 2 hours I waited for my walk-in spot to come up. Even went to the desk a few times just letting them know I was still there or stepping outside for some air. Finally, I overheard the front desk lady say “we have no more first available.” They had already crossed my name off the list and I was told someone called me. Come on. I had been there for 2 hours, had given you my name multiple times, and I finally realized it myself and had to show the mistake. I love this place and want it to succeed but the ladies at the front desk are more worried about the next Instagram post than their customers right in front of them.

I just moved here and thought this would be a great place by reviews, to get my hair cut. No appointment just walked in and took the first seat. Great got me right in now wait nice atmosphere, they offer a beer to people who wait. Sat down and asked for clipper on the side and scissor cut on top with a bread trim. What I got was an uneven buzz on the sides and what they did was 3 or 4 cuts on top to get the height then buzzed it. I have thick hair and looks better when you cut it with scissors thats why I asked for it, now it looks like I have fuzzy hair

You can see all his lines where he used the electric sheers because he wasnt talented enough with the scissors.

I was from out of town and was able to get a haircut without an appointment this past Friday morning. I had spotted them while at Starbucks next door, and had decided to give them a try. They were happy to fit me into their schedule without an appointment. I was given a haircut by Robert the owner of the shop, and he did a great job. I enjoyed getting a haircut at this shop and wish I could go back to them, but it would be a 3 hour plane ride. I will hit them up again the next time I'm in Richmond.

Robert the G.O.A.T. I have been going here since 2010 and never has had a bad experience. i don't even a specific style I am looking for when I am ready for a cut. I literally just say suprise me and the man always comes through. This man cannot fail. Everyone is very respectful and understanding. Free beverages when you walk in, also sells products in the lounge. Everyone is laughing and coversing with one another. The place is more than just a barber shop, it is an experience. The shop has the look and feel of a vintage, classic appeal, and it offers massages, shoe shining and repair, manicure and pedicures, hair cleansing, straight razor shave and/or trim, and line ups. Everyone is very talented, pasionate of their craft.

Haven't had an actual haircut in years (after getting it done every two weeks prior) I was doing it myself but I let it get away to the point of that wasn't happening so I searched barber shops close to me and found this place, I was impressed as soon as I walked in hoping the haircut would be as nice as the establishment appeared to be, I was greeted by who appeared to be the owner and asked him who was better at fading hair as (at the time) there was several open chairs and a young woman named Amanda stepped in saying she was, so she cut my hair and I was extremely impressed at the results, I can honestly can say this is the best haircut I have ever had, I honestly can't say how satisfied I am, and by the end of the haircut the shop was jumping and I can see why, this place (and Amanda) are top notch, I'll never go anywhere else

I've only been here once ( I live 30 minutes away, and got a haircut whilst my car was being serviced at the dealership next door), but I got a tremendous haircut. I was a walk-in and even though it was busy they worked me in after about a 15 minute wait. The barber took more care and pride in his work than you'd see from most anyone at a chain barbershop. Prices were reasonable for what you get. This place gets a thumbs up from me. If I lived in the west-end this is where I would get my hair cut regularly.

I had bad experiences at 3 other places before discovering Parkside. Everyone is extremely welcoming, like Courtney at the front. Amanda is my barber and she does a fantastic job. Always positive and she takes pride in her work. I always leave as a happy customer with Parkside. Great atmosphere with the TVs and layout. Excellent experience and great haircut by Andrew! I've honestly never been to a "real" barber shop before, previously only to the discount chains like Sport Clips or Great Clips. I will never go back to those places again. The customer is king at Parkside, from comfy couches to wait in to a close neck and sideburn shave (with an actual straight razor) and finishing warm towel, it's clear that they really want to earn your business and keep you coming back! I had great conversation with Andrew over a wide range of topics, though since my haircut was at 12:30 and Andrew was hungry, it was mostly about the merits of Five Guys and Chipotle! Andrew handled my cowlicks well. Yes, I have two cowlicks like devil horns right at the front of my hairline. Lots of places have messed up my simple haircut due to them, but Andrew handled them well and made me look great!

For some strange reason there is a shortage of true babers in this region... Found this place on Google Maps and went in for a cut on a Wednesday afternoon. The shop is inviting and the two barbers manning the chairs were polite and professional. I received a great haircut, that was way over-priced. $18 before tip for a #2 buzz? I was in the chair less than 5 minuets. The service is great, but for the quick cut I get every two weeks, it alone does not support the hefty price-tag. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Well, I was surprised at the poor service here. The establishment and barbers were friendly, but the haircut (my sole reason for being there) was... terrible. I paid $20, not including tip, for under 10 minutes in the owner's chair. The haircut was so poor that I left and drove down the street to get it fixed. I asked for a 2 on the sides, and received a 1. The straight razor around the neck was great, but no disinfectant or lotion was applied afterwards. Now, I'm itchy. Sorry Parkside, I tried to like you. I wanted to like you, but I could not recommend this place to anything with hair.

A fine establishment. Good haircut, great banter, and an overall great experience. If you're looking for an "old school" barber shop, this is your place. Got a good haircut and probably looking to get the straight razor shave next time I go in. The fellas were very entertaining and I enjoyed the cracks they were giving one another. If you are just looking for a normal haircut place and get a buzz every couple of weeks, this probably isn't your place. (at $18, may be a bit much for that scenario) I cut my hair every month or two though, so it was well worth my money. I will be going back in the future.

Been coming to Parkside for three years now. Previously used Pine Street (good, but a pain to reach), the Byrd Hotel (super uneven quality), and whatever sports or super cuts happened to be near by. Stopped searching for a good barber once I found Parkside. My usual go-to at Parkside is Tyson. He gives a great cut and is easy to talk with. They usually have sports on, but, thankfully, with the sound muted. Once my son aged out of crewcuts and pigtails I started taking him here as well.

I told her a medium bald fade and she did like a very high almost high and tight. She also didn't take it all the way to bald. And the fade was kind of shotie.

I am very picky about my haircuts! I over analyze everything! I have thick curly coarse hair and no one ever seems to know what they are doing with it... And if they do it cost 70 bucks for a mens haircut. This has deterred me from a haircut for years and I just end up buzzing it myself. Well I had decided to grow my hair out this year and try something different. After some research and a couple of failed attempts because other places fail to return phone calls. I ended up on parksides page and loved the reviews and booked an appointment with Amanda! I loved my haircut! She was quick but not in the big chain store kind of way... And I vaguely described what I wanted and she was able to get what I wanted without asking 100 questions or went in clipping without any idea of what to do and chop all my hair off. I had my 4 year old nephew with me and I liked my haircut so much I had her cut his hair too! She was great with the kiddo and gave him a awesome cut as well he couldnt stop checking himself out when we got home. We both booked our next appointment for a few weeks! I recommend this place for sure!!!

I was blessed to find this establishment by simply surfing the web and thank the Good Lord for small miracles! Everyone is so pleasant and the banter is comical and most of all respectful. If you are new to the area and want someone skilled and uber pleasant to cut your child's hair, I highly highly recommend Daniel (not that others aren't just as fabulous!). You can't honestly do any better than Parkside!

Really enjoy going to this barber shop. I always make an appointment with Ed and he always does an outstanding job. Started going to Parkside because it is close to my work but the excellent service I receive keeps me coming back. The other feature I like about this shop, other than Ed's excellent cuts, is that they finish off each haircut by scraping the back of your neck with a razor--not many salons do that anymore, but for me it is the best part about a haircut. Next time you need a cut, go to Parkside and ask for Ed, he will treat you right!
