I bring the whole family here for haircuts. We love everything about Reamir and their barbers are extra friendly.

Can't speak for all the barbers but I had a horrible experience with one of the older barbers here (first chair). He was hard to communicate with and got really really angry when I asked him to cut my hair shorter. I understand he didn't think it'd look good shorter but it's my hair and he could just warn me, and I'll accept the consequences (it's my head!). After I gave up, he literally walked out the door to I guess vent? I've never not tipped a barber even for bad haircuts, but this guy wouldn't even look me in the eye as I left so I out my tip back in my pocket. To be clear I usually go to the UWS Reamir and those guys have always treated me well and had great experiences there for years but I tried this Reamir out bc I was nearby and in a pinch. Never again

Sean hooks it up. One of the best barbershop experiences I've had: clean, quick, cheap. They get the job done, leave me feeling fresh for a couple weeks afterwards. Highly recommend.

Terrible customer service. I walked in with my toddler in a stroller and the receptionist lady made a face. I told her my son wanted a haircut so she spoke something in a regional language to another female hair stylist and they both rolled their eyes. Both of them kept looking at us and making faces with saying something which didn’t sound too happy. After waiting for 10 mins, 2 of the hairstylists started fighting over a drawer .. while we waited for our turn. Finally one of the male stylist freed up, we expected to be seated for a haircut. Instead he asked us how we wanted his hair cut. My son is only 2 years old so we didn’t really want a hair style. I just showed him a pic of my son with freshly cut hair. He looked at the pic and then said “I don’t cut hair like this”. I asked him what do you mean and he repeated I’m sorry we cannot cut his hair. We don’t cut hair of people like this. After waiting for more than 20 mins in that tiny place, being squished by every single person walking by and sitting through the nasty faces/remarks we just asked to leave without any haircut. I am very disheartened by such a racist treatment in a very inclusive eclectic neighborhood such as the UWS. I wonder what kind of training was imparted to these employees. I cannot believe in this competitive market and power of social media, someone would turn down a customer with such bold racist comments. My advice to you - if you’re a person of color definitely stay away from this place.

Avi & Ari really know their way around a barbers chairs in this tiny little barber shop. Aside from the corner seat there isn't really anywhere inside to loiter or wait for a haircut...While in the chair these guys know whats up and deliver with a quick clean haircut complete with straight razor shaves among other Man's Man barber shops. Great price too!

A hole in the wall. Very basic. Men's cuts are around $24. You are in and out in 15 minutes.

This is a BAD barbershop. All these good ratings make no sense. Don't be misled by the low prices. You will walk out unhappy. Probably the worst treatment and most rushed haircut I ever got. Guy cut my hair in less than 10minutes and clearly couldn't care less about the outcome of the cut. Didn't seem to even listen when I explained how I wanted hair cut and went straight back to texting after "finishing".

Good haircuts at a competitive price... As long as your staying in the city. Barbers were friendly and professional, I plan on getting my next haircut here as well.

These guys are the WORST! I went there to line my beard, told the guy exactly what to do and then he went and F***ked it up! Made the right side different from the left side, and used a trimmer instead of the blade! When I told him he just shrugged and said "Its ok!". Not professional at all.

My wife loves the way I look and smell after a haircut and a shave at Reamir Barber Shop. Not only do they give a great cut but I can buy the same products they use to keep that smell my wife likes so much. There are many benefits to a great men’s haircut and shave. Thanks to the barbers at Reamir at Columbus and 74th.

My regular haircut place. Friendly and professional, and usually very quick. Even when busy, the (short) wait is worth it.

Prior to closing a HUGE deal at work I wanted to get a new look to help seal it all. I visited this barbershop and explained to them what I wanted. The barber was able to create the look with no guidance and when I saw the results, my jaw dropped. I look smashing. Thank you.

As a walk in, I was unsure of how long I would be waiting to receive a shave, but I went in anyways. I only had to wait about 5 minutes which was way less than I expected. The shave went well and the products they used left my skin feeling silky soft.

TLDR: Nearly all of the 5 star reviews are fake and the youngest "barber" gave me a bowl cut using snot covered hands and paid no attention to what he was doing. The younger employee who works here gave me the worst haircut of my life this past week right before a final-round job interview in which I met the team I'd be working with should I receive an offer. When I walked in, this employee was the only one who was free, and it was obvious that he really didn't want to cut hair that day. He asked me what I wanted and I told him "longer on the top, shorter on the sides, but not too short. I also part my hair here," pointing to my natural part." I've always parted my hair on the right side of my head which is very obvious once my hair's grown long enough to basically hide my ears, falling down almost to my nose in the front, and have provided two photos from before the haircut for reference (the one with me in a coat is from a couple months ago, and the one in which I've grown a slight beard is from about a week ago, May 1). He proceeded to cut my hair as if he were trimming hedges after a multi-day coke binge. What I mean by this is: he snorted loudly to suck phlegm into the back of his throat from his sinuses every 30 seconds, left the building at one point to spit it onto the sidewalk, came back inside to blow his nose and keep cutting my hair without even washing his hands or using sanitizer. He raced through each step in the hair cutting process without paying attention to what he was doing, or how it looked after each step (I had to remind him to level my sideburns, for example), instead he chopped away, bumped his hands into my face accidentally, and pulled the comb THROUGH the knots in my hair, which hurt... In the end, once he dried my hair and reshaped it, I wasn't dissatisfied with what I saw in the mirror enough to risk being late to my interview. Once I got home after the interview, I showered, dried my hair slightly, got dressed and looked in the mirror to finish styling my hair and... WAIT.... did he give me a F****** BOWL CUT?? Not only that, but in an attempt to cut around my ear, he left about a half inch gap from my ear all the way around it, and ONLY ON ONE SIDE (you'll notice the difference in my photos). I thought to myself, "there's absolutely no way it got good reviews. Am I thinking of the right place?" I confirmed that, yes, I remember choosing to go to this place because it had a high rating and was the only establishment on the UWS which didnt cost my firstborn for a haircut. Hmm.... how is that possible? I clicked on the reviews tab, sorted by rating (high to low), and started reading. Almost immediately, I noticed that almost all of the 5 star reviews were from accounts which: use profile pictures that don't show a face or are otherwise generic stock images, have written at most 1 other review, and have made their reviews private so they're hidden from their profile page. I then noticed that these fake 5 star reviews are being written in batches, every several months (next to each review, Google tells you how long ago it was posted), and use nearly identical tone, vocabulary, and grammar in each. It isn't until you get down to the 1 star reviews that you start seeing reviews from Local Guides and accounts with real profile photos/public reviews. It's unfortunate you've had to stoop this low for your business to survive, but don't worry. If you're consistent, you won't be cutting hair at that location much longer.

For those of you who don’t want to read the entire review, let me make a long story short. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!! Was hoping for a great experience since this place was reasonably priced and right next to my apartment, but I was sadly disappointed. I’m sure it’s a different with ever barber that works there but I showed the guy a clear picture of what I wanted (which I’ve also attached below) and this is how it turned out. I don’t even mind that it was too short it was the fact that it is completely uneven. Tried to have him work it out but he just couldn’t do it and I was running out of hair to cut to fix this. The front originally all jagged, like bad teeth, and he argued trying to convince me it was even. This is the closest we got. The website explains how experienced these guys are supposed to be, but it really seemed like this was this guys first time cutting hair. If I’m in a real pinch I might try this one more time with a different barber and see how it goes but I’m just surprised at the lack of care this particular guy put into the haircut.

Always quick good haircuts. $20 a cut.

Normally my experiences are great at this Barber Shop. However, yesterday the Barber made comments about my personal appearance, specifically some moles. That’s completely rude and unacceptable.

David Shuster

Quick, dependable, reasonably priced.

Good haircut, rude service. Went in and asked for a short haircut. Halfway through the cut I requested again to have my hair shorter, which she immediately dismissed with "yeah yeah I'll get there." Later on, when she asked if I liked the cut I said it wasn't short enough and she angrily responded that I should have brought a picture and showed it to her before the haircut (I then immediately pulled up a pic on my phone). She then proceeded to comment and I QUOTE, "I thought you wanted to look good." I'm sorry lady, but your job is to ask your customer of how he wants his hair beforehand, not to dismiss what he wants, repeatedly complain, AND then insult your customer.

Must see Benny. My now husband got his hair cut by Benny the Morning of our wedding and was more dashing then the day I met him. He was a ball of nerves and Benny’s attitude spirit and professionalism made him proud and excited to celebrate his day with roaring confidence!

Osvaldo Valdes

Their focus is quantity over quality. I didn’t get a necessarily bad haircut but the attention and detail I expect I did not receive. Also when I went to pay they tacked on an extra cost for trimming my beard. I told them he didn’t even line it up and they responded it will be an additional $10 for the straight razor. I will not be coming back.

I have been getting haircuts here for over 20 years. Family owned business, Arthur the owner runs 4 different shops and cuts hair at this one 4 days per week. All the barbers speak Russian but are kind and thoughtful- mostly Uzbeck and Kazakhstan immigrants- wonderful and capable people.

Great barber at reasonable prices for the Upper West Side. Ask for a shave while you’re there.
