I feel like you have to go here multiple times and see the same barber each time to eventually get a haircut. It's also a little bro-y and as a queer person I didn't feel super comfortable in the 3 locations I've visitied since my 6 years in NYC.

I've gone to FSC Barber twice. The first time, the guy gave me a great haircut, but it was way too short, and I didn't like it for about 3 weeks when it was finally long enough. I just went back today, and this other guy Aaron, an Australian fellow, gave me a kickass haircut. He listened to everything I said and basically gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. So Aaron gets an Excellent, the other guy gets a Good. The place itself is very nice, looks like an old-school barber shop. They finish up with a straight razor on your neck, use a nice hot eucalyptus towel, etc. Great stuff.

It took quite a well, but I finally found my go-to haircut place in NYC. FSC Barber has such a great atmosphere and a really great staff. They don't take appointments however which can be a bit annoying since you'll never be quite sure how long it's going to take. Depending on your luck it could be a 15 minute wait or it could be an hour. I have yet to walk out with a haircut I didn't like, all of the guys/gals there are quite talented and listen to what you want and somehow accomplish it. You should note however that they don't do cash back so if you're going to tip, make sure you bring some spare dollars or run across the street to the smoke shop to find an ATM.

I went in here to get a haircut earlier this year and they were so rude at the front desk that I walked out. I asked how long the wait was. The dude kept talking over me and demanding my name and then took a phone call, then resumed being jerky. They charge way too much to treat would-be customers shabbily.

Alice cut my hair and I was very impressed, he listened carefully to my requirements this being the first time at the barbers, he was very attentive, and the hot towel at the end made me feel very pampered. Would definitely recommend a cut from Alice. If I have to give a negative it's that they don't wash your hair before or after the cut.

I'm not one to usually leave reviews, but I've struggled in the past to find a good hairdresser in NYC. I can strongly recommend Fellow Barber, in particular my hairdresser who is called Hung. First time my hair was cut by Hung I showed him pictures of what look I was after, and after asking a few questions & adding his insights he delivered exactly what I was looking for. 4 or 5 visits later, I wanted to go from long to short hair and again, showed him a picture of what I was looking for. Once again, he delivered exactly the look I was going for. Extremely talented hairdresser, and although the price is definitely on the high-end for a cut, you really do get for what you pay for. Plus, always a fun person to chat with. Highly recommend both this location and hairdresser.

This is definitely one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. My barber Miguel checked in with me before we started. I had images of the type of haircut I wanted, a light taper fade. He had some recommendations of his own, which I ended up taking. Once he was done, he gave me some advice on which moisturizer to use along with how to properly use the coiling sponge. It is my friend's wedding today and I truly feel like a fresh groomsman. Thank you, Miguel!

Was ok. Got an appointment same day on a Saturday. Was seen 10 mins early as I went back early. Reception folk were pleasant to me but seemed indifferent to others or cold even. I would give 4 stars if it wasn't so dammed expensive. For 45 dollars in London for just a dry cut you would go out of business. Even in a trendier area. For that money they should wash, and give you a beer.

At $55 for a senior barber haircut, this should be a 5-star experience. Can't call yourself an expert in cutting black hair and have neither a pick nor a proper brush. Cool vibe and staff was generally friendly, but ultimately not worth the price.

Read about a barber Clark Walker in a Mashable article and saw his work on Instagram. He knew what he was doing so I went to give him a shot. Great conversation which I never shared with a barber and an awesome haircut. Yeah it was $50 but for an awesome hipster haircut which was different from any hairstyle I've ever had it was worth it. Found my new barber.

Amazing barber shop. They provide medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401K, child savings accounts and health savings accounts for their employees. It is pricey but worth it to support a business that appreciates their workers. I don’t mind paying more to a barbershop that in addition to the benefits listed above also provide sick pay, and parental leave. Amazing.

Fellow Barber is simply an awesome place to get your hair cut! The guys there know what they're doing! It is very annoying that you have to go there, ask for you guy, then wait anywhere from 1-2hrs to get a seat though. They need to work on how they maintain reservations because they currently don't have anything in place. Besides that though, these guys know what they're doing and I'm not sure I could go anywhere else now! Check out my Matt Wire, he's awesome!

I have been getting my haircut here for several years. After going to a fancy midtown salon for many years, and then trying lots of barber shops, I discovered Fellow Barber. The barbers here are excellent. They are all very skillful and produce really sharp looking cuts. They also do beards and shaves too. The prices are more than the usual neighborhood barbershop, but it is totally worth the price.
