This place is a joke i had an appointment for my 18 months old son at 10am .then we got there and after waiting for guy the barber to finish another guy , he came over and told us to wait because he was gonna do another dude i had my little son in my arms desperate, scared ,crying ,up set this the way little kids like this get at places like a barber shop. The barber didn't care he was so rude. We had to leave because my son couldn't take the wait. I will never comeback to this place plenty of rude and ignorant people

I should have read some of the reviews before going in. If I had I wouldn't have found out the hard way what so many others already knew. This place has the worst customer service. The management and owners are a joke!!!

If you are wanting to stay up to date with the freshest haircuts, then True Barber Shop is the place to be. These men are the most professional guys out there when it comes to cutting hair. You are more then just a customer to them, you are like family. All 7 barbers can do whatever haircut you want. Just remember to avoid wait times, its best to book an appointment with one of the barbers ahead of time.

The only bad reviews seem to come from entitled people who were too lazy to call ahead for an appointment or ask a simple question when they walked in instead of assuming. If you just walk in and sit quietly at an appointment-based shop, most would probably assume you're waiting for someone and have an appointment.. I spoke up as a walk in my first time and they explained they were appointment only but Geno still managed to fit me in. He's been my barber ever since. I drive across town passed a bunch of closer shops just to get cut at True. Always awesome work, clean cuts and a great experience! Be sure to call ahead and make an appointment. They stay pretty busy with a high demand but getting scheduled is fairly easy and the guys will work to get you in if they're not already booked.

Barbers are professional. When they give you the mirror at the end to look at yourself, you are 98% positive they didn't even need to give it to you because they always do a great job. Make sure to stop and ask for Geno, he's been my barber for 4 years now and he's never let me down.

I'm very pleased with this barber. Great cuts for my 18 and 14 year old boys. They take their time and do a top-notch job. It's centrally located in Albuquerque at I-25 and Osuna. Generally, we can get in same day when we call ahead. If you're a first time visitor, stop by and grab a business card from a barber... it's better that you call them directly than the main number. Most of the barbers are focused on the head of hair they're working on, so don't think they are ignoring you if they aren't chatty. Remember, you'll get the same individual attention when you're in the chair.

The wait was so long it was awful! Then when this barber finally cut my son's hair, he was more interested in talking to me and payed 0 attention to my little boy. So unpleasant and unprofessional, never going back!

After watching Luke Cage on Netflix I had to get back to my roots (no hair pun intended) and find a straight up barber shop. Somewhere I could walk in, sit down, get a hair cut and not have a gimmick shoved in my face. True Barbershop fit the bill perfectly! I didn't even have an appointment (this time) and they got me in fast. On top of it all the haircut is great! Pops would be proud.

Walked in, 5 barbers, not a single hello or greeting. Waited 10 minutes, 2 other customers walk in and sit down. Not one of the barbers asks if I have an appointment, or if I would like to make one. Wait another 10 minutes, rinse and repeat. Apparently this place is great if you're friends or an established clientel. Otherwise be prepared for an uncomfortable and awkward starefest.

My barber, Guy, is one of the best in the city. I highly recommend this place 10/10 to anybody looking for an amazing price on a haircut and an amazing outcome. They're willing to work with you and also willing to go the extra mile in every aspect to make sure your happy. the proffesionalism and the relaxed atmosphere are perfectly balanced. Finally Albuquerque has a 5 star barbershop.

Went there today (6/20/17) due to the reviews I read about Guy. Was not impressed. Told him I wanted your standard messy hair skater style cut. Walked out looking like the hair style he had, all sticking straight up in a line like I got electrocuted. Never told him to do that. He said not to worry it will look the way you want when you style it. So, I asked if he could not style it the way he did his own hair and just do it the way I wanted. Said "no, maybe next time". Nice guy, just doesn't listen to his customers at all. Does his own thing. Which is a problem. Also, cash only at this place. Had to walk across the street to an ATM. Side note, got home to wash out the hair and see what he did. I'm going to have to schedule a touch up somewhere tomorrow. This is easily the worst haircut I've ever had. I can't go to work like this lol.
