Quick rundown:
New in town as a travel nurse, unable to find a good barber. Read reviews of this place, decided to give it a shot. Walked in, waited ten minutes, greeted by a lady and asked how I could be helped. Said "oh just waiting for a haircut". She said "well that's what I do!"
Follow her to the chair, asked what I want. Told her a fade and asked if I wore a sidepart. I replied "Can we wait to see if I want one depending on how it looks when you're done?". Her reply? "Well I mean...." As she looks over to the male barber, rolls her eyes, and looks down and chuckles. Kinda confused at this point cause I've never had this response, so I say "I mean, I've asked that a few times before and have never had that response". She just continues to look down, no facial expression.
I decided just to leave. I said "well, that's ok ma'am, I'll just go somewhere else." Not in a disrespectful way, and even told the other barber to have a good day and raised my hand as I left.
I'm gonna tell you what.....been to a TON of barbershops traveling as much as I have in my life, and that was THE most off-putting initial experience I have ever had. Ever. You might have been around for 40 years with tons of regulars, but you're gonna need new clientele. This isn't a way to treat a new customer at all. So incredibly rude, and all I was wanting was a fresh cut to look good this birthday weekend.
TL;DR - this was the rudest initial experience I've ever had at a barbershop in my life, and for no damn reason whatsoever.
