I’ve been going here since my husband found this spot, and found Jay. First of all, I love a spot where folks are kind and competent at what they do. Jay is hand down a true professional. In addition to him paying attention to details, he has a kind spirit that is evident from the moment you meet him. The hot towel shaves are not to be missed. And while Jay is my number one go to, Hugo is a solid barber as well. He has cut my hair a couple times too. Definitely go check this place out.

BEWARE OF THE DARK-HAIRED BARBER WITH DIFFERENT-COLORED EYES. I have a mixed review. In my experience, the service varies greatly depending on which barber you get. Some of the barbers are friendly and super accommodating, others are rude and do not like getting requests. For example, the barber with the dark hair, ponytail, and glasses is super nice and listens to everything you have to say. But today, I had my hair cut by a dark-haired man with different-colored eyes. He was rude. He made a simple mistake that was easy to correct, but when I politely pointed it out and asked him to fix it, he became very defensive. He kept saying “if I cut your hair shorter, don’t get mad.” Finally, he cut my hair shorter, and then started saying “and now you are mad” despite the fact that I was not. I can’t make this up, it was the strangest thing. It left me feeling very confused. I don’t think I was unclear with my language. It was very simple the way I explained what I wanted. I have a very typical haircut, similar to what you see with a lot of other men. I keep my hair short on the sides and back of my head, I usually have the barber go in with a 1 and fade it where my hair meets my beard and neck. The hair on top I like to keep longer but still short. I’m not sure if I will be coming back.

Every single one of the barbers are masterfuly trained and listen to your needs and give great style advice. I have been searching for a place like this and will go for the rest of my life. If you are not getting a haircut from this place then you are missing out. I took a chance and deff did not regret it. I came in around closing time and Eddy took me in without a problem. He took a ton of time to pay attention to my hair and gave me a great cut and hot towel shave. I can tell Eddy loves to make hair look good and is a perfectionist attention to detail. The shop within itself and barbers are true professionals which is exactly why high profile people tend to walk in. Yuriy, Luis and Jay are impeccable and very understanding. They do not just “nod their head” at your explanation they stop and take their time to make sure they master their craft. The shop is clean and a friendly environment. Their tools are clean not like other shops where they do not take their time to clean their machines. The music is also great, an added plus. When there is a wait I DO NOT mind waiting. This is not just a haircut, it’s an experience within itself hence why I would recommend it to anyone with any type of haircut.

2 locations 456 & 336. I use to do their at the 336 it was cheap and people were nice. I was able to pay and til by card. Haircut for 25$ for a great service... But few days ago, price went up and tips were cash only! The manager was not smiling at all, this was a terrible experience.

When I first moved to the city, I tried four or five to salons to find the right place. I paid well over $50 for a haircut at these high priced salons in hopes of getting a great haircut. I was never happy with any of them, I didn't feel like the stylists were skillful at all. The guys at Gotham City Barbers are good at what they do, they are all craftsmen. I have been to three different barbers there, and all three were awesome. Yes, they all have their different styles, but all know how to cut hair.

Always a great experience at Gotham. Kenny is wizard, he never disappoints. Turnaround is lighting fast, and with two locations right around the corner from each other you’ve got a great selection of Barbers to find your guy. Just remember to bring some cash for tips. If you’re stranded and need a cut, they have an ATM in the building.

This is my go to barbershop for the Midtown West, Lincoln Center, Hell's Kitchen, Columbus Circle area where I live. There are usually short waits and I have one of the same 2-3 guys each time. They have 8 or so chairs to get through a lot if people quickly. Also really love this spot because they have a loyalty punch card for free haircuts!

Extremely high turnover of staff. The only pro of Gotham is that it is inexpensive. If you aren’t directly instructing them on how to cut your hair, they will completely change your hairstyle. I tried to be patient, giving them several opportunities but there is just no consistency or continuity. I am never going back.

Used to be a cool local place but that has changed.I have been going there from the very begining when it was just 3 barbers.Today I went in for a haircut and one of the regular guys that cuts my hair (Eddie) didn't have a customer and tries to send me to a different barber.I told him "I prefer you do it" reason being the barber he told me to go didn't do a good job on my sons hair. So he made a face and began to act busy sweeping and massaging another guy as if he didn't feel like doing it.So I left because clearly they no longer want my service.

To be honest, I don't write reviews. I am a very optimistic person when it comes to these things. I have gotten bad haircuts before, but this one is just bad, the left side of my hair has less than the right side. They cut to much off and now it looks like I have a chunk of hair missing. This is not a complaint, hair grows back, but i would just like to share my experience with others.

I was staying in the holiday inn on 57 and 10 ave. on the same block of my hotel I saw a barber shop , although I'm not comfortable trying a different barber besides who I usually go back home , I decided to give it a shot . I went inside Gotham city barber shop and I really had the best New York City haircut experience. The professionalism from the barber was great !! Stopped by here to get a haircut and was very pleased. I was greeted by friendly and experienced barbers. Yuri took care of me and gave me one of the best haircuts and shaves I ever got. He took his time and was very skilled at his craft. I'll be sure to come back. The prices are fair for such great service.

I was in New York City for the week end and stayed in Manhattan. I had a party for the week end and badly needed a haircut as i started googling a couple of shops u settled down with Gotham City, this place rocks. Had this super cool guy from Morraco by the name of Jay cut my hair. I'm very picky with my haircut and hates trying a different barber. I enjoyed jay personable service and outgoing personality and I definetely would use him again next time I travel back to NYC and would recommend anyone to try out this midtown barbershop and ask for Jay.

Extremely Rude , definitely don't want someone so rude touching your hair or head. I rarely give a bad review and we are all clients here . If a service smile is too much to expect that's fine but a bad attitude ruins your day. I didnt wait for a hair cut i just walked out . This place was highly recommend by a friend . Very dissapointing . Don't want to spoil my day and my hair and take a chance. It's one of those places and attitudes that give a bad name to an otherwise amazing NYC or Gotham . They should change their name . I wrote my name down for a cut , asked the lady if I could drop my laundry across and come back , she said I have 10 mins. Probably I missed my turn as the cuts before me finished earlier. I understand that I have to get back in line and that's fair but what I don't understand is that why do I have to be given a very very Rude warning and that " I should not do it ever again " thats Rude and mean and I got taken aback. You are not my mom . you have a line up of customers it's not that you lost any business or I asked to cut the line again. Serious business does not give anyone the licence to be rude and rather than apologizing this attitude is being justified. Why would anyone want to come back to such a place. If you have rules then it's best to paste them outside .. and it should say if you miss your turn or miss hearing your name then we will be rude as one of the rules - even if you inform us that you are stepping out. Seriously !!! Seriously rude place ! I agree. They still don't get it. What's the big deal and it's not a crime if someone missed their turn they are paying for it by going back in line and that's fine. But why be rude ?? I don't get it how is that justified ?

Trendy HK barber shop. Often busy but lots of barbers so the line moves quickly. I've had four different guys cut my hair and always leave happy. Reasonable prices as well and they give you a loyalty card so your tenth cut is free.

If I could give less than one star I would. The wait and the haircut were honestly not bad at all. The shave on the other hand was abysmal. I've been getting shaved at barber shops for years. Not once in any of those years have I gotten razor burn from a barber, one bump at the most. It's now 4 days later and the entirety of my neck still looks terrible from the razor burn. The shave was extremely aggressive and to be frank, unprofessional.
