I typically see Judd when I go in there. He has been phenomenal at remembering how I like my hair cut. I can't remember the last time he asked me how I wanted it, and by the time he's done (which is pretty quick), there isn't one thing I would have liked him to do differently. Jim's is fabulous. Judd has kept the old style experience. After a great cut, he’ll finish up with a neck shave; including hot lather and a straight-edge. Want to experience a full shave the way our fathers and grandfathers used to? Judd does that as well.

This is THE spot in Exeter to get your haircut! This is coming from a guy who’s pretty picky about who I let give me a fade. I love Amanda - she is super friendly and gives a mean clean up at a great price. Like any barbershop there can sometimes be a wait on weeknights/Saturdays, but Amanda just hired another barber to help out during those busy times. She’s great with kids’ hair too! Definitely check this place out when you’re in need for a shape up.

Finishing up with a hot lather straight blade neck shave feels good too. Amanda Selling cut my hair last time I was there and she did a great job. Will return.

As a professional cosmetologist I can tell you Amanda is one of the most hard working/professional barber you want... She is also an amazing mom, wife and friend... So if it’s close to closing time and she still has 5,4,3,2 or even one person waiting, give her a break and come back another time... You’re ridiculous comments otherwise is just an “I feel entitled post!!!”

Amanda is rude and unprofessional. I came in to get a haircut and Amanda informed me they were closing soon and she couldn't do it. Not a problem, I understood but she didn't even offer me an appointment on another day when she was available. Then the icing on the cake was when she started talking about me to the clients hair she was cutting. I wasn't even fully out the door or in my car. I used to bring my sons there for their haircuts. NOT ANYMORE! They have lost those 2 clients and a potential new one. I'm not going to pay or tip anyone who is that unprofessional. Advice for Amanda....it's not okay to ever talk about a client to another client while your on the clock.

Great overall experience. I must say that the barber shop is tidy and organized has a great old fashioned vibe. It thoroughly embodies the culture of Exeter New Hampshire. As a student a fast haircut is necessary and helpful. This haircut was really good and quick. Jim cares about his work and clearly went to school for this. I am so happy I went to Jim’s. Also after the 20 minute haircut, I asked how much I owed him and he said 14 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? What an AMAZING PRICE. Being from Portland, Oregon, all the haircuts I’ve had have ranged in price from 20 to 35 dollars this is a bargain!!!!!!! Especially as a high school student of Philips Exeter Academy, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a haircut, which is why it’s so great how low the prices were. Jim is amazing, so go to Jim’s. I love him. He’s amazing. He cares about hair and cutting it. He loves lasagna so much he ate it before the cut and exclaimed “WOW WAS THAT STUFF GOOD!” His sense of humor is unparalleled!!!! In summary go to Jim’s get a haircut.... u will love it. Jim’s barber shop is a great location also. Please go to Jim’s Barber Shop, because he was so nice, the location was absolutely incredible, the price was such a great bargain, and now I have such a lovely haircut.

I was told about this small place in Exeter where all 3 barbers give an exceptional cut. Yesterday I walked in close to close, and was informed that (Jim I assume) could still take me which I was grateful for. Awhile after a 2nd barber walked in, Amanda, and was able to take me up in minutes. Not only that, but was able to address the issue of my hair I was trying to explain to barbers for years, in seconds. I later learned she comes in and relieves the wait time, that this is a common occurrence during this time I realized as 6-8 more people piled in after me. Not only was Jim's able to gladly take their customers, Amanda was able to address them by first name and how long the wait will be(Jim was gone at this point I learned he powered through the rush with a severally sore neck) I'm writing this review because I was extremely impressed with the staff, the organization, clean environment, and just friendly spirits. Working customer service for years, I notice these things. Keep up the great work.
